It’s the boots for me! The Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige kicked off her Good Morning Gorgeous tour with special guest Ella Mai and Queen Naija on Saturday, September 17.

MJB rocked her most notable classics, (“Real Love,” “Family Affair,” “Everything,” “Be Happy,”) and new smashes (“Good Morning Gorgeous,” “U+Me,” “Rent Money,” “Amazing,”) to a sold out crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Blige, 51, is set to visit over 20 cities ending on Saturday, October 29 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The iconic singer brought the heat onstage and gave fans an epic and emotional night to remember.

Fellow GRAMMY Award-winning artist Ella Mai and platinum-selling singer Queen Naija also performed at the Greensboro Coliseum which started promptly at 8 p.m.

Set to change the face of battle rap once again, Queen Of The Ring presents their inaugural “Prom Night” event. The only formal affair of its kind, this event will celebrate the presence and progress of women in battle rap.

Always keeping an ear to the street, QOTR has cultivated the top MC’s circulating female battle events. “Prom Night” – Queen of the Ring’s premiere and formal battle-rap event is comprised of exclusive “one rounder” 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 battles where, when appropriate, the two-person team is an actual couple. Everyone, including the battle-rappers, the judges, and the crowd will be required to dress in formal attire.

Today In Hip Hop History: Marley Marl Dropped The Juice Crew Debut Album ‘In Control Vol. 1’ 34 Years Ago

The title of “super producer” is not one to be taken lightly. For every era of Hip-Hop, there is a man behind the keys set the tone. Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, RZA, Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Mike Will Made-It, and Metro Boomin are among the few who have dictated what Hip Hop has sounded like over the years. Super producers have even spanned genres to influenced music as a whole, bringing the Hip Hop style to the masses.

On this day in Hip Hop history the culture’s first super producer, Marley Marl, released his debut compilation, In Control, Vol. 1, and forever changed the sound of Hip Hop. Before this album, Marley Marl’s true importance to Hip Hop had yet to be openly stated. It was known that he had a hand in some of the biggest records to have out at the time but this album put them all in the same place, proving what Marley Marl was doing to help Hip Hop evolve.

Before Marley Marl, Hip Hop production was quite primitive: the drums were sounded synthetic, the loops were monotonous, and as a whole production was more of a skeleton waiting to be filled by an MC. Marley Marl gave the instrumental life. His signature drum loops and soulful samples brought a new tone to Hip Hop. A Marley Mal beat served less as a compliment to the artist’s ability and more as fuel to jumpstart the intensity of the rapper, bringing out the best in him or her.

Commercially, this album was the success it was bound to be. Featuring Juice Crew members Biz Markie, Craig G., Roxanne Shante, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Heavy D, and more from Marley Marl’s private army. Pushed by the infamous Cold Chillin’ Records, the album peaked at #163 on the Billboard 200 and brought great publicity to Cold Chillin’ as a top label in Hip Hop. Following this album, the label rose to become a household name in Hip-Hop and Marl Marley grew to become an immortal icon of Hip Hop culture.

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle “Uninvited” to State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly “uninvited” to a state reception hosted by King Charles on Sunday. The Duke and Duchess received an invitation to the event earlier this week, but palace officials say the reception is for working royals only.

The confusion over whether Harry and Meghan will attend the receptions follows mixed messaging over the Prince’s right to wear a military uniform during funeral events.

Meanwhile, crowds of mourners continued to line up to view her coffin in Westminster Abbey, some waiting up to 14 hours to pay their respects.

Great Britain also observed a national minute of silence for The Queen. A muted Big Ben rang its bells at 8 p.m. to mark the start of a national moment of reflection.

Mayor Eric Adams Says NYC May Take Legal Action Against Texas

Mayor Eric Adams says New York City may take legal action against Texas over the busloads of illegal immigrants being sent to the city.

Mayor Adams says with no advance notice and no permission, Texas has bused at least 2500 illegal immigrants to the Big Apple, a sanctuary city, since May. He told CNN’s “State of the Union” it’s creating a humanitarian crisis in the city and is no way to treat other municipalities. Adams called the “humanitarian crisis” a situation that requires coordination on the federal, state, and local level.

Mayor Eric Adams went on to say the busing of migrants from Texas to sanctuary cities like New York City is just a cover-up for human rights offenses. Civil rights attorneys are calling for state and federal investigations after dozens of migrants were sent to the home of VP Harris in Martha’s Vineyard last week.

The Mayor says New York has opened 23 emergency homeless shelters since May and plans to open 38 more, but that still won’t be enough.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Sends 50 More Migrants To VP Kamala Harris’ Home

The Texas Governor Greg Abbott is still making headlines.

A second busload of migrants sent from Texas arrived outside the home of Vice President Kamala Harris over the weekend. The latest bus is part of Governor Greg Abbott’s ongoing policy of sending migrants from Texas to underscore the Biden administration’s open-border policies.

Harris recently appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and claimed the border is secure, leading Abbott to target her residence. The governors claim their states are overwhelmed and President Biden is ignoring the crisis.

The bus arrived before dawn on Saturday at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. Currently, two busloads of illegal immigrants from Texas have reportedly been dropped off near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris.

After 50 Venezuelan migrants were also flown to Martha’s Vineyard last week without notice. Florida Republican Governor Ron Desantis, admits he chartered two private planes to take the migrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Abbott and DeSantis of using human beings as political pawns for photo-ops. She called the moves dangerous political stunts. Jean-Pierre added — “Stunts aren’t solutions.” She said Republicans should work with Democrats on comprehensive immigration reforms.

Civil rights attorneys are calling for state and federal investigations after the Republican Governor’s reckless tactics last week. The group Lawyers for Civil Rights has expressed concern that the migrants were persuaded to board airplanes and cross state lines under false pretenses.

[WATCH] Biden Declares ‘Pandemic Is Over’ Despite Daily Death Toll

President Biden says coronavirus is still a problem but circumstances are changing and ‘everybody seems to be in pretty good shape’.

Joe Biden has said “the pandemic is over” in an interview broadcast on Sunday, though he admitted “we still have a problem with Covid”, as the US continues to grapple with coronavirus infections that kill hundreds of Americans a day.

The president told CBS’s 60 Minutes: “We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lotta work on it. But the pandemic is over. If you notice, no one’s wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape. And so I think it’s changing.”

Last week the World Health Organization declared the end of the pandemic was “in sight”, after revealing that weekly deaths were at the lowest level since March 2020.

Popular Miami Doctor Banned From Performing BBL Surgeries After Patient Dies

A popular Miami doctor has been banned from performing Brazilian butt lift surgeries after a patient died on the operating table the same day.

According to the Miami Herald, 33-year-old patient died after the Instagram-famous Dr. John Sampson performed BBL surgery on June 16, 2021.

According to an autopsy report obtained by the Herald, Sampson punctured the woman’s liver and intestines during the procedure.

The Florida Board of Medicine banned Sampson from performing the BBL procedure again. He was also fined $20,000 and $5,626 for the board’s investigation and prosecution costs.

Sampson was ordered to study five hours of continuing education in medical records keeping, a one-hour lecture on liposuction and gluteal fat grafting surgeries, and he can’t be the head physician at any private or public medical office or surgery center.
