Young Buck Settles Old Debts And 50 Cent Can’t Contain His Excitement

image

What’s better than Taco Tuesday? Beef Tuesday, ha. And serving up more rap beef on a silver platter is an old dish courtesy of 50 Cent who recently responded to Young Buck’s plans to settle a long-standing debt.

Get this, according to our friends at AllHipHop, they reported 50’s former G-Unit artist has raised enough bread to satisfy a $250,000 payment to 50 Cent. Damn. What’s wild is he owes 50 Cent money and he had to raise money to pay it off. What time we live in.

Young Buck got the goal line by selling various assets, including jewelry, cars, and his music catalog, as part of the bankruptcy he filed in 2020. Crazy.

This fire sale of sorts amounted to $1,023,669.67, which is sufficient to pay off 50 Cent, a $190,000 obligation to the IRS, and other creditors. Hopefully he can keep a few bucks for himself, no pun intended.

So naturally upon hearing the news about the liquidation, 50 Cent reacted in the most petty of ways, by saying, “🤨🤷🏾‍♂️I don’t know why they make me go through this part, but I’m a need that money by Monday.”

ICYMI, because we did, Young Buck filed for bankruptcy four years ago due to financial difficulties and a stint in jail in 2019. Listen, it happens to the best of us, sometimes.

Before you point the finger, the bankruptcy filing was actually a strategic play to escape his contract with G-Unit Records.

Buck, whose real name is David Brown, explained his decision to sue 50 Cent during a 2022 interview on “It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper.” He said:

“Once he stopped me from being able to make money, I filed another bankruptcy. They stopped him from being able to cease-and-desist in regards to me being able to, you know… I included what he claimed that I owed him in the bankruptcy to be able to say, ‘Well hey, if you’re owed this and present whatever receipts or whatever… You will be paid type of situation.’ But that was the only way I was able to go forward with working, so.”

Young Buck didn’t see it as a loss and shared his excitement on the gram:

”#Unbothered FrFr😎 Ayeeeeee….. Im A FREE AGENT 💰💰!! I WON😁‼ Stay Tuned…🚀” This marks a new chapter for Buck, who looks forward to his career as an independent artist.

Hopefully everyone is happy with the results.

Charlamagne tha God Believes Kamala Harris Surge Is The Real Deal But Can Stand To Take More Interviews

image

Charlamagne tha God recently discussed his views on Vice President Kamala Harris’ candidacy in the upcoming presidential election, expressing that her presence has reinvigorated interest in the Democratic Party. Speaking with “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl, Charlamagne said, “Oh, there’s definitely a lot of main character energy on the Democratic ticket. We know who Kamala Harris is. Like she has super main character energy.”

That’s a buzzy term these days. Main character energy. Guess he thinks Vice President Harris has the it factor.

Before VP Harris popped out in the 2024 presidential race, Charlamagne, also known as Lenard McKelvey, previously criticized President Joe Biden’s candidacy as “uninspiring” and urged him to exit the race. With Biden’s recent departure from the 2024 race, he feels there’s less voter apathy now. “If I’m the Democrats, I’m not spiking the football yet,” he cautioned. “The job is not done. You still have to bring this thing home in November.” He’s right about that part.

Harris has faced criticism for not holding a formal press conference or giving interviews. We’re yawning while saying that because we don’t think it’s much to do with anything but Charlamagne remarked, “She does need to do more interviews… I feel like she should be any and everywhere, you know, having these conversations.”

The Radio personality and occasional political pundit, suggested Harris adopt former President Donald Trump’s approach to media, as Trump frequently engages with supportive media outlets. “He’s always calling into conservative talk radio, which is one of my biggest issues with the Democratic Party,” Charlamagne explained. “They don’t use the media that supports them the way the right uses the media that supports them.” Trump also looks like he should do less interviews due to his untrustworthy interview shenanigans but what do we know.

Charlamagne also went in on the recent racist attacks on Harris’ ethnic identity. When asked about Trump’s false comments questioning Harris’ race, Charlamagne said, “I don’t even think that she should have responded. I don’t think she should have dignified that with a response.”

Regarding more racist criticisms labeling Harris a “DEI hire,” Charlamagne refuted this notion, pointing out that Harris is the first Black woman and Asian American to be a major party’s nominee. Instead, he suggested that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, fills the role of a “DEI hire” as a white male to make America comfortable. “It is what it is,” he said. “No need for us to, you know, act crazy about it. We know what it is.”

Well, everyone has an opinion and Charlamagne definitely has his.

Larsa Pippen Goes in On Marcus Jordan Believing He “Lied” About Alleged Drug Use When They Were an Item

image

Well, well, looks like Larsa Pippen’s untimely breakup with Marcus Jordan reportedly came from his “nonstop wild partying” and drug use. Whoop. Basically, according to a source close to her and reported by Marca, Pippen ultimately ended the relationship due to Jordan’s hidden lifestyle and daily lies about using drugs. Yikes. What’s wild still is Pippen … Jordan, in the same sentence but it’s not about Scottie and MJ. Sorry, we had to point that out.

“She can’t waste her energy on anyone who takes drugs,” the source told the outlet. “He’s been hiding this lifestyle for a while and used to lie to her about it every day.” The insider added that Pippen stopped taking calls from Jordan when his behavior became too erratic to handle.

This all came to light after a few viral photos of Jordan appearing to snort somethin’ white, at an outdoor table in France. Internet sleuths have not been able to confirm the substance, but his lady friend, Ashley Stevenson, was seen giggling beside him in the photos. How quick some of these people just move on is always fascinating.

After the images broke the interwebs, Stevenson reportedly began to distance herself from Jordan. “I’m single…Marcus and I are NOT dating and haven’t been,” Stevenson posted on Instagram in response to the photos. Quick fast reaction.

Get this, Pippen and Jordan, went public as a couple on Instagram, first broke up in February after a year together. Rough. They briefly reconciled on Valentine’s Day but parted ways again in March.

After the abrupt split, Pippen popped up on the Amy And T.J. show, discussing her ex and confirming that she was “single and ready to mingle.” She explained that they were on “different journeys,” saying, “I feel like I have to be true to who I am. What I’m doing and what he’s doing, you know? I want him to be happy. He’s a great guy, but I just don’t feel like it’s for me.”

Tyler The Creator Is Over Rappers Who Are Merely ‘Meme Records’

image

Tyler, The Creator, has something to say about some of ya’ll favorite “rappers.” The multi-hyphenated talent known for his boundary-pushing creativity and dedication to his craft, has expressed frustration with the current state of so called hip-hop.

Get this, in a preview clip from an upcoming episode of SpringHill’s “Mavericks With Mav Carter” podcast, Tyler shared his thoughts on “meme rappers” and the lack of seriousness some artists have towards music. Let’s be real, is he wrong?

Tyler said, “I don’t want to seem like a hater — sometimes I have hater energy, because I just think I’m that good. […] I love this art form so much, bro, and there’s so many n””””s out right now that aren’t musicians, that are getting treated like musicians because they make meme records. [They will] publicly be like, ‘I don’t give a f”ck about music, I just do this sh”t for money.’ It’s a Spider-Man meme of, like, the next n””””. When every publication is like, ‘Hell yeah, let’s put that out,’ you taking up space for n””””s like me.”

We aren’t picking sides here but Tyler’s criticism highlights his commitment to artistry and the frustration he feels when others in the industry prioritize money over music. He can stand on ten toes with that reasoning. He gets it. Artistry over gimmicks.

Check this out, despite his serious views on the overall state of the industry, Tyler also knows how to keep things lighthearted … So, he was on the receiving end of a prank by Billie Eilish, who called him claiming she had an embarrassing accident on a date. His response was humorously supportive: “Fire. Honestly? Fire. You deserve it.”

ICYMI, Tyler has been busy with recent projects, continuing to innovate and challenge norms in the music world. His latest work includes a variety of new releases and collaborations, further cementing his status as a leading figure in hip-hop and a champion for creative authenticity.

TBH more artists need to open up on this conversation. Every record can’t be “Euphoria” or “Family Ties,” but there needs to be a balance, and the memification of Hip Hop can’t be where the culture is going, musically. Just sayin.

R. Kelly’s Lawsuit Against the U.S. Government and Tasha K Faces Dismissal

RCA Records is Reportedly Holding R. Kelly's New Music

R. Kelly’s legal battle began when he claimed that prison employees used the internal prison system to unlawfully access his sensitive information. According to Kelly, this information was then sold to Tasha K, who subsequently shared it on her popular blog. Kelly’s lawyer argued that Tasha K leveraged this information to harass him and influence witnesses in his ongoing legal battles, particularly his criminal prosecution in the Eastern District of New York (EDNY).

However, the U.S. Government has now fired back, requesting that the case be dismissed. In documents obtained exclusively by In Touch, government lawyers denied breaching their duty of care to Kelly, arguing that the United States cannot be held liable for the alleged actions of individual prison employees. They stated, “The United States is not subject to institutional liability stemming from allegedly widespread negligent practices or policies.”

While the government did acknowledge that there was an Inspector General investigation into the unauthorized access of Kelly’s emails, visitor logs, and phone records, they pointed out that no charges were ever brought against the officer named in Kelly’s complaint. In fact, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that the employee in question had retired shortly after the investigation commenced in 2019.

Interestingly, the government’s response appears to indirectly confirm that a prison worker did, in fact, provide information to Tasha K that was accessed from the internal system. Despite this, the government maintains that this does not constitute grounds for holding the entire U.S. Penal System accountable.

Tasha K, for her part, has vehemently denied any involvement in illegal activity, taking to Instagram to refute Kelly’s allegations. Nonetheless, Kelly’s legal team contends that the leaked information caused chaos in his personal life and compromised his defense in the criminal case against him.

As the U.S. Government pushes for the lawsuit to be thrown out, Kelly’s legal challenges continue to mount. With his reputation and freedom on the line, this latest development in the R. Kelly saga underscores the intense scrutiny and controversy surrounding the disgraced singer, both inside and outside the courtroom. The court’s decision on whether to dismiss the case will be closely watched, as it could set a significant precedent for the handling of sensitive information within the U.S. prison system.

The U.S. Government has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by R&B singer R. Kelly, who is currently serving time on multiple charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. The lawsuit, which was filed last year, accuses the U.S. Penal System and gossip vlogger Tasha K of violating his privacy by allegedly accessing and publishing his private prison emails and call logs.

Gunna Releases New Visuals For “Today I Did Good”

unnamed 91

Continuing a prolific run, four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated, multi-platinum Atlanta rap superstar Gunna has revealed the music video for his new single “today I did good.” Once again, he re-teamed with frequent collaborator and director Spike Jordan to capture this visual from while Gunna was on the road in places such as Rome, London, South Africa and more.

If you’ve ever wondered what a day in Gunna’s shoes would be like, the video answers that question. It quite literally assumes the rapper’s point-of-view as he wakes up in Rome before dawn, chooses his jewelry, steps out of his hotel room, and starts his day. It follows him through breakfast and blunt smoke as he makes his way to the front row of an Emilio Pucci fashion show.

Ultimately, the clip pulls audiences deeper into his world and affirms his status as one of the hardest working men in show business.

Gunna’s fifth studio album One of Wun notably marks his first full-length release since his 2023 chart topping album a Gift & a Curse. The 20-track album boasts superstar collaborations with Offset, Normani, Leon Bridges and Roddy Ricch.

YSL Woody Admits He Lied About Alleged Crimes Committed By Young Thug in Latest Trial Drama

image

Okay, we’re back to the longest trial in the history of Georgia. At this point is this the longest criminal trial in American history? We gotta know. Anyhow, after an eight-week break, exhausted jurors in the Young Thug and YSL RICO trial returned to the good ol’ Atlanta courtroom, where Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland took the stand once more. Copeland admitted to lying in 2015 to avoid imprisonment, saying he fabricated stories about rapper Young Thug to protect himself and his family. Oh boy. Smelling mistrial motions coming back into the fold.

Get this, Copeland, known as Lil Woody, originally testified that he deceived law enforcement by implicating Young Thug in various crimes he didn’t commit. “The police kept locking me up for whatever they could,” Copeland explained. “And they keep bringing up Thug’s name, so what I did to get them off me was, ‘Thug did this, Thug did that.’”

Diving into the nitty gritty of the so called lying, during his testimony, Lil Woody challenged the validity of his previous statements. He criticized Detective Thorp, saying, “his brain was the size of a squirrel brain, so you can just tell him anything, and he’s gonna go for it.”

Prosecutors, who are probably annoyed with Copeland to no end are using Copeland’s 2015 police interviews to support their case, which claims YSL is a gang led by Young Thug, responsible for several violent crimes, rather than a legitimate record label. Copeland said, “The police told me they want a big fish. And I’m a little fish,” highlighting his attempts to convince them he was truthful about Young Thug.

Back on the stand, Copeland repeatedly stated he couldn’t recall answers to the prosecutor’s questions, asking to be left alone. “You ask me about 2015? I have got my life together. Y’all trying to put this on my conscience,” he said. “Y’all trying to put people’s lives in my hands… I’m tired of y’all because y’all know y’all are wrong.”

While it is expected that Copeland’s testimony might seem to favor Young Thug, he insisted that his concern was the truth. “It may seem like I’m trying to help Thug out. I’m not trying to help him out. I don’t care nothing about him or what he got going on,” he stated. “I care about the truth. The truth was I was going through a phase in my life, and I have put all the blame on him. I don’t know what he did. I don’t know what he got going on. But y’all got me on this stand, and I’m telling the God-honest truth.”

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Got it.
