On October 13th, Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican sensation, achieved a remarkable feat as his album, nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana, became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day for 2023. This remarkable accomplishment further solidifies Bad Bunny’s status as a powerhouse in the music industry.

Bad Bunny has consistently been one of the most influential Latin artists, maintaining the title of the most-streamed artist on Spotify for three consecutive years in 2020, 2021, and 2022. His global impact has been undeniable, and in July of 2023, his album “Un Verano Sin Ti” claimed the honor of being the most-streamed album of all time in Spotify’s history.

In anticipation of the album’s release, Spotify executed a clever marketing strategy, placing cryptic billboards in cities worldwide with the album’s name, “Nadia Sabe / No One Knows.” This enigmatic campaign sparked widespread intrigue and excitement among fans who eagerly speculated on its meaning and how it related to the album’s launch.

Bad Bunny continues to make history and captivate audiences with his groundbreaking music and innovative marketing efforts.

oday City Girls releases RAW, their highly-anticipated third full-length album, out via Quality Control Music/Motown. This marks their third authentic, and straight-talking studio album, their first in three years. Features include Kim Petras, Lil Durk, Muni Long, Juicy J and Usher.

LISTEN HERE

In a teaser video posted to their socials on Saturday (Oct. 14), JT and Yung Miami describe their upcoming album as “serious a–, freestylin’ cypher a–rap” and “scammin’, trickin’ p—y rap.”

On RAW, the Miami-raised City Girls debut their new single for “Flashy” ft Kim Petras, marking the first collaboration between the rap duo and the Grammy-winning pop star. with a video to follow on Friday afternoon, Oct. 20. Directed by Jenzar, life is good for the trio, as Petras sings: “Stylin’, shinin’ / I’m so flawless like my diamonds / I’m flashy / Big bags, price tags / You know all I wear is name brands / I’m flashy.”

JT and Yung Miami remain the ultimate alter-ego for city girls and city boys worldwide, putting into their lyrics and music exactly what they think (and what others often wish they said), resulting in more than 15 billion cumulative streams – and ushering in a new wave of real female power – since their 2018 mixtape Period.

RAW is the follow-up to 2020’s City On Lock, which spawned Billboard Hot 100 the singles “P—y Talk” (with Doja Cat) and “Jobs,” and became their highest-peaking entry on the Billboard 200 (No. 29). Since their last studio effort, the rap duo has put out several singles, including the Hot 100 hits “Twerkulator” (No. 51) and “Good Love” (No. 70, with Usher), as well as the 2023 releases, “I Need A Thug,” “Piñata,” “Face Down,” and “Act Bad” (with Diddy and Fabolous). In addition, both members put out solo singles. In 2021, Yung Miami made her solo debut with “Rap Freaks” — which peaked at No. 81 on the Hot 100 — and, this year, JT reached No. 25 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 with “No Bars.”

City Girls are a legitimate phenomenon, and with RAW, JT and Yung Miami show their growth while still representing the fun and the ratchet.

Will Smith Surprises Jada Pinkett Smith During Book Tour Stop: ‘Hold it Down for You the Way You Have Held it Down for Me’

Will Smith 1024x679 1

Will Smith surprised Jada Pinkett Smith on her book tour stop in Baltimore. The event was at the Enoch Pratt Free Libary, where the Baltimore Sun delivered details of what was said.

“I just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me,” Smith said. “We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship]. We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time.”

Will Smith has an official quote out regarding various reveals from Jada Pinkett Smith across the media last week. The New York Times quoted the A-list actor in another interview with his wife.

“When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” Smith said.

Smith added a letter to another appearance of an estranged wife, which will be on the On Purpose podcast hosted by Jay Shetty.

“I applaud and honor you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would’ve hugged you more,” Smith wrote. “I’ll start now. Welcome to the Authors Club. I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”

Last week, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she could have been Tupac’s wife. Sitting with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson for the All the Smoke podcast, Pinkett Smith revealed that Pac proposed to her while he was locked up in Rikers Island.

“Seeing him there, the condition that he was in and having to leave him there,” Pinkett Smith said. “He was in bad shape. And so, when he asked me to get married, he was at Rikers

“I knew at that time that he needed somebody to do time with him, which I was gonna do anyway. He didn’t have to marry me to do that. I’m here. He needed a rock. Because of our friendship and everything we had been through together, he just wanted to feel that solidified foundation.”

Pinkett Smith believes that Tupac would have divorced her as soon as he exited prison. You can hear it all from her below.

No I.D. Says He Asked Pusha T to Not Record His Drake Diss Over “The Story of OJ”

noi.d.

Five years ago, Pusha T set his sights on Drake, unleashing “The Story of Adidon,” a scathing diss track that revealed Drake was “hiding a child.” Flash forward to today, Pusha and Drake didn’t make up like The Boy did with Meek Mill; in fact, it feels like their beef can erupt again at any time.

Speaking on the historic diss is No I.D., who made the “Adidon” beat, but it originally served as the score for JAY-Z’s “The Story of OJ.” Speaking with Stereogum, No I.D. revealed that he told King Push not to use the beat for the diss, but he did it anyway.

“I told [Pusha T], don’t do it, and he did it anyway,” No I.D. said. “I told his manager, Steven Victor, he called me about it. And I was like no, that’s not even the spirit of the song, bro, why would you pick that one? That wasn’t lack of love for him and what he was doing and his art. It was just, again, there’s times I don’t wanna be involved in certain things, because it’s not me.”

In case you need to revisit the single, press play below.

Roland Martin Calls Waka Flocka Vouching for Trump a ‘Trash Endorsement’

Roland Martin Calls Waka Flocka Vouching for Trump a 'Trash Endorsement'

President Donald Trump has received a new endorsement: Waka Flocka Flame. Hitting social media, Flocka shared an image of Trump standing beside the controversial political figure and businessmen. He also shared a “TRUMP2024” tweet.

The moment was captured by Roland Martin, who blasted the “Oh Lets Do It” rapper: “100% trash endorsement of Trump from @WakaFlocka.”

Rev. Al Sharpton is also speaking against rappers who are standing in support of former President Donald Trump. During an appearance on MSNBC, Sharpton questioned how Black people, including rappers, could support Trump, recalling his history with the Central Park Five.

For a brief history lesson, in 1989, Trump, who was then a prominent New York City businessman, took out several full-page newspaper advertisements calling for New York City politicians to reinstate the death penalty following the brutal rape and attack of a female jogger in New York City. Five youth, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson, were wrongfully imprisoned for 7-13 years until the attacker was caught. They had been coerced into giving false confessions and received substantial settlements. All are involved in criminal justice activism efforts now. Trump never formally apologized to the five, especially since he took out the ads before their trials began.

“Let’s go to the 1990s when five young Black and brown men were falsely accused of raping a white woman in Central Park,” Sharpton said. “It was Donald Trump that took out ads in the papers in New York saying they should get the death penalty.”

Sharpton later said, “Black men need to know they were all young Black men. One spent 13 years in jail. He was with us for the March on Washington on Saturday. Let them come and tell the rappers and other Black men being seduced by Trump what he did in his hometown to innocent to Black men.”
