No, Beyoncé Was Never in the Democratic National Convention’s Lineup

Whelp Beyoncé did not perform at the DNC.

Rumors began to swirl for days about the likelihood of Beyoncé possibly performing at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

On Thursday TMZ made a report she would appear on the event’s final day, citing anonymous sources. In fairness they are rarely wrong about anything and normally are the first to report, well, everything.

However, this time a Beyoncé representative quickly debunked the report, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “the report of a performance is untrue” and clarified that she was never scheduled to attend.

Get this, the Washington Post confirmed with a source close to convention organizers that no special guest, including Beyoncé, was planned for Thursday.

Oh but the campaign may have added some lighter fluid to the fire.

Speculation about a potential Beyoncé performance intensified earlier in the week, fueled by a tweet from White House political director Emily Ruiz, who posted a bee emoji, a nod to Beyoncé’s fan base, the “BeyHive.”

Ruiz later backtracked, and light heartedly claimed her 6-year-old took her phone. When asked about the rumors on CBS Mornings, Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison did not confirm or deny Beyoncé’s involvement, only mentioning, “Everyday, she’s in here singing ‘Freedom.’”

Despite the wild rumors, Beyoncé did not make an appearance, surprising many. Although she hadn’t endorsed Kamala Harris as she did with Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama in previous elections, she did grant the Harris-Walz campaign exclusive rights to use her song “Freedom” from her “Lemonade” album. This song has been Harris’ walkout anthem at campaign rallies.

The song is working. Maybe a performance would have been a bit much for everyday Americans who tuned in and might be on the fence about voting for Harris.

Cardi B Was No Fan of Atlanta and Hated Her Time There With No Friends or Family

image

Who woulda thunk it. Cardi B wasn’t a fan of ATL, hometown to her estranged husband, Offset.

The Bronx rapper recently opened up about her search for a New York apartment and reflected on her time living in the “A.”

Get this, on Thursday, August 22, Cardi B took to Instagram Live to address the buzz surrounding her apartment hunt in New York City. While some speculated that her move was tied to her divorce, Cardi B clarified that the decision was work-related.

“Right now, I’m in the city, and I need to go take a shower,” she shared, revealing that she’s been showering in her engineer’s gym bathroom or renting hotel rooms, which she finds exhausting.

The “Kodak Black” emcee further explained, “I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here.” Cardi B emphasized that she feels “comfortable” in New York, and despite popular belief, she actually lives in her New Jersey home with her children, not in Atlanta.

“I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house in Atlanta,” she clarified, adding that she rarely spends time there. “I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. And probably I go for a week, maybe less. I tried to move to Atlanta in 2018 and I lived there for like six months. And I hated it. I don’t have not one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta. So I just don’t like Atlanta.”

I mean Atlanta isn’t for everyone so we get it.

Katherine Jackson’s Attempt To Stop $600M Sale Of Micheal Jackson’s Music Catalog Denied by Judge

image

Katherine Jackson, legendary mom of Michael Jackson, had her appeal denied in a legal effort to stop the sale of half of her late son’s music catalog to Sony for $600 million. A Los Angeles judge ruled on August 21 that the sale aligns with the terms of Michael Jackson’s trust, dismissing Katherine Jackson’s objections as lacking merit.

Lawyers for Katherine Jackson argued that Michael had expressed a desire for his assets to remain within the family before his death. However, the judge pointed to Michael’s will, which grants his executors full control over his estate.

Get this, the court filing states, “The will gave the executors broad powers of sale, with no exception for the specific assets at issue in this case… the probate court did not err in concluding that it was Michael’s intent to allow the executors to sell any estate assets, including those at issue in the proposed transaction.”

This ruling is but the latest in the ongoing legal conflict between Katherine Jackson and the co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, attorney John Branca and A&R executive John McClain. Earlier in February 2023, it was reported that the estate was looking to sell half of the music catalog, with Sony Music among the potential buyers. Despite Katherine Jackson’s protests, the executors had received court approval to proceed with the sale.

So basically, pertaining to Michael Jackson’s will, his estate is to be passed down to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, with his three children—Prince, Paris, and Bigi—as the beneficiaries.

Big money talk. Not going the way everyone wants, so it seems.

Federal Judge Rules The No-Knock Warrant Did Not Cause Breonna Taylor’s Death, Charges Against Officers Dismissed

Screenshot 2024 08 23 at 11.23.17 AM

A federal judge decided that two Louisville Police officers who were charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Breonna Taylor’s home were not responsible for her death.

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson said that Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, was responsible for her immediate cause of death by firing at the officers, causing them to respond with lethal force.

Back in 2022, Detective Joshua Jaynes and Sgt. Kyle Meany were charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Taylor’s home before the raid and then creating a fake story to avoid responsibility after Taylor was killed during the raid. They were also charged with felonies for using a dangerous weapon to deprive Breonna of her Fourth Amendment right to defend herself against unreasonable search.

Both officers would’ve have received life sentences of they were found guilty. Both are also stil facing other pending charges, with Meany facing one charge of false statement to federal investigators, while Jaynes has been charged with two counts of falsification of records, conspiracy to falsify records and witness tampering.

Jaynes could get up to 40 years if convicted and Meany could get 5 years behind bars. They both have been fired from the Louisville Police Dept.

Snoop Dogg’s Children’s Series Stirs Excitement For Back-To-School Season

Screenshot 2024 08 23 at 10.25.19 AM

ust in time for the back-to-school season, the beloved characters from the popular 3D animated series ‘Doggyland’– co-created in 2022 by Snoop DoggOctober London, and Claude Brookes –share a fun new learning anthem, “I Don’t Know” today (8/22/2024). Featuring Snoop Dogg as his character Bow Wizzle, the catchy tune delivers an upbeat and engaging message: it’s okay not to have all the answers.

The characters from ‘Doggyland’ bring this message to life in a fun and engaging way, encouraging young children to feel confident expressing uncertainty, and helping them to navigate the often challenging landscape of learning with curiosity and openness. By acknowledging that it’s normal not to know everything, the song fosters a healthy attitude towards asking questions and seeking knowledge. This approach not only supports cognitive development, but also contributes significantly to social-emotional growth.

The importance of social-emotional development in early childhood cannot be overstated. As children learn to manage emotions, build relationships, and make decisions, they also develop a stronger foundation for academic and personal success. “I Don’t Know” serves as a crucial tool in this development, teaching children that it’s okay to ask for help and to learn through exploration and inquiry. By normalizing uncertainty, the song helps create more organic learning opportunities
in daily life, whether in the classroom, at home, or during play.

I’m excited to share our Doggyland song and video ‘I Don’t Know’. This is specially made to get kids excited and motivated to never stop being curious and asking questions. We wanted to create a space where kids and families could be inspired to learn. Nobody knows everything and no one should be afraid to admit it.” – Snoop Dogg

Stephen Harper Drops Lawsuit Against Dwight Howard Over Alleged Sexual Assault

Dwight Howard

Last year, Stephen Harper made headlines when he filed a lawsuit against former NBA star Dwight Howard, accusing him of sexual assault and battery. The allegations included claims that Howard pressured Harper into a threesome. However, new developments have emerged as Harper has decided to drop his lawsuit.

According to a court filing obtained by ESPN, the civil lawsuit was officially dismissed on Monday in Gwinnett County Court in Georgia. The dismissal was filed by Harper, who initially brought the lawsuit against Howard in July 2023. The filing indicates that Harper has dropped all claims against Howard “with prejudice,” meaning that the lawsuit cannot be refiled on the same claims.

One of Howard’s attorneys, Justin Bailey, confirmed to ESPN that no financial settlement was made in exchange for Harper dropping the lawsuit. As of now, Harper’s legal team has not provided any comment on the matter.

This dismissal marks the end of a legal battle leaving many questions unanswered about the motivations and circumstances behind the lawsuit and its withdrawal.
