Continuing an unprecedented hot streak, Lil Durk proudly presents his forthcoming new OTF (Only The Family) compilation project, Nightmares In The Trenches, out next Friday November 17th. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE. He paved the way for its arrival with the scorching song and music video “Smurk Carter, available now. Stream “Smurk Carter” HERE. Watch the music video HERE.

“Smurk Carter” laces otherworldly synths with boisterous horns and a thumping bassline. Durk’s unmistakable vocals practically put the beat in a headlock as he drops distinctive bars with an anthemic and introspective hook, “Money is the root of all evil, Smurk I mean Durk be in the trenches with his people.” In a moment of raw reflection, he exhales a sigh, “‘Cursed’ I mean hurt that they just taking all my people.” In the cinematic visual directed by Jerry ProductionDurk links up with friends and family as the music video opens up with Durk’s uncle as the voice intro and cameo appearance. The mood undeniably resembles an ode to Lil Wayne’s Carter/Carter II era Lil Wayne as Durk pays homage through the imagery.

In other big news, Durk just snagged a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “All My Life” [feat. J. Cole]. At the 2024 ceremony, he will compete for “Best Melodic Rap Performance. Stay tuned for more.

The original “All My Life” picked up a platinum certification, soared to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, reeled in over half-a-billion streams in addition to 124 million YouTube views on the music video, and reached #1 at Rhythm and Urban Radio for consecutive weeks. Not to mention, it vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Rhythmic Chart and at Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.

Lil Durk released his critically acclaimed blockbuster album, Almost Healed , earlier this year. Nearing half-a-billion streams, Almost Healed, marked his fourth consecutive Top 3 debut on the Billboard 200 and third straight #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.

Durk shows no signs of stopping or slowing down though.

Trump Salutes Lil Pump at FL Rally: ‘Day 1 Supporter’

Donald Trump Brings Out Lil Pump On Final Campaign Rally

Lil Pump is on the receiving end of a shoutout from former President Donald Trump. While Trump campaigned in Florida, he hit the stage and highlighted the rapper, calling him a “day 1 supporter.”

“He’s one of the few, rapper Lil Pump,” Trump said. Lil Pump was present in the crowd during the rally.

The Trump shoutout follows Rev. Al Sharpton speaking against rappers who support former President Donald Trump. During an appearance on MSNBC, Sharpton questioned how Black people, including rappers, could support Trump, recalling his history with the Central Park Five.

For a brief history lesson, in 1989, Trump, who was then a prominent New York City businessman, took out several full-page newspaper advertisements calling for New York City politicians to reinstate the death penalty following the brutal rape and attack of a female jogger in New York City. Five youth, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson, were wrongfully imprisoned for 7-13 years until the attacker was caught. They had been coerced into giving false confessions and received substantial settlements. All are involved in criminal justice activism efforts now. Trump never formally apologized to the five, especially since he took out the ads before their trials began.

“Let’s go to the 1990s when five young Black and brown men were falsely accused of raping a white woman in Central Park,” Sharpton said. “It was Donald Trump that took out ads in the papers in New York saying they should get the death penalty.”

Sharpton later said, “Black men need to know they were all young Black men. One spent 13 years in jail. He was with us for the March on Washington on Saturday. Let them come and tell the rappers and other Black men being seduced by Trump what he did in his hometown to innocent to Black men.”

He added, “It was a point where I used to stay in the studio like when I was doing a lot of my earlier albums, I had to learn. But I wanna say around the F.A.M.E. album, I was kinda like in my zone. I knew what I wanted.”

Originally, 11:11 would only be 11 tracks, which prompted a reply to fans.

Sarunas Jackson issued a now-deleted tweet throwing accusations at the development between Keke Palmer and his brother Darius Jackson.

Keke Palmer has filed for full custody of her 8-month-old son with Darius Jackson, Leodis. Additionally, Palmer has agreed to pay “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth” but asks each person to care for their attorneys.

According to PageSix, Palmer denied the option of joint custody and also filed a restraining order against Jackson. The order cites physical and emotional abuse. The documents also state “many instances of physical violence,” claiming Jackson has destroyed personal property, tossed Palmer’s items into the street, and tossed her car keys to prevent her from leaving.

Keke Palmer Files for Full Custody of Child & Restraining Order Against Ex-BF Darius Jackson; Releases Security Stills of Him Attacking Her at Home

Keke Palmer and Boyfriend Darius Jackson Reveal Baby Boy, Leodis Andrellton Jackson

Keke Palmer has filed for full custody of her 8-month-old son with Darius Jackson, Leodis. Additionally, Palmer has agreed to pay “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth” but asks each person to care for their attorneys.

The court can “make orders” for child support and “issue an earnings assignment without further notice to either party.”

Jackson is also accused of hitting Palmer in front of their son, threatening suicide if she left him, harassment, and “other physical and emotional abuse.”

Palmer and Jackson officially split last month, but Palmer states she has security footage as recent as Nov. 5 showing Jackson trespassing at her home. Jackson is stated to have “threatened [her], then physically attacked [her] — lunging for [her] neck, striking [her], throwing [her] over the couch and stealing [her] phone when [she] told him [she] was going to call the police.”

Palmer stated the relationship officially wrapped in early October due to “physical and emotional abuse inflicted on [her] by [him] throughout [their] relationship.”

“It is because of our son, Leo, that I was finally able to end my relationship with Darius once and for all and escape the abuse,” Palmer wrote. “Leo is the most important thing in the entire world to me; he needs and deserves to be safe and grow up in an environment free from violence.”

Palmer stated her leaving Jackson has escalated the attacks, citing his actions as “more unhinged, volatile and dangerous.”

Keke Palmer also released images from her security camera showing Jackson engaged in attacking her.

Following the developments, Jackson tweeted an image with his son, captioning: “I love you, son. See you soon.”

BJ The Chicago Kid Drops Collaborative Album “Gravy” with Yeti Beats

BJ The Chicago Kid Drops Album "Gravy" with Yeti Beats

7X GRAMMY-Nominated Singer/songwriter BJ The Chicago Kid unveils the year’s feel-good project with the release of Gravy, a collaborative album with super-producer Yeti Beats. The album, available everywhere today, features the focus track “Never Change,” a soulful collaboration with the legendary Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire. This refreshing project coincides with the announcement of Yeti’s new label, Reach The World Records, a joint venture with RCA Records.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Yeti Beats and Reach the World,” shares John Fleckenstein, COO at RCA Records. “We have always admired BJ The Chicago Kid as a trailblazer with his blend of R&B, pop, and soul. We are proud to kick off this new relationship with Yeti by bringing BJ’s next chapter to the world.”

“My father loves Al Green, and I’ve always dreamed of recording a soul album in Memphis,” explains Yeti. “When the opportunity came up, BJ was my ideal collaborator—I consider BJ to be one of the greatest voices in soul/r&b today. His knowledge of and passion for soul music shaped the authentic sound of this album. I am proud and excited to release Gravy through my label, RTW, in partnership with RCA.”

“Gravy” marks Reach The World Records’ inaugural release and serves as a love letter to the genres of pop and soul. Recorded with a live band at the iconic Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, the album draws inspiration from the ’70s mellow grooves of soul legend Al Green. In an impressive feat, BJ and Yeti Beats, along with the live soul band, The Indications, brought the album to life in less than a week. Yeti’s distinctive production seamlessly blends vintage soul and pop elements, creating a captivating work that explores new sounds and styles while paying homage to the renowned style of Al Green. “Gravy” is a thrilling and revitalizing addition to the duo’s artistic repertoire.

“I’m sick of soul music having an old name,” shares BJ on the album. “When you’re in the hood, and they love you, they give you a nickname. To me, the nickname of soul music is ‘gravy.’” He continues, “Gravy smothers, covers, and makes everything taste better. The album Gravy is the persona of what the new cool is. It’s that feeling when you’re at your absolute best, got on your best clothes, exuding confidence in every step and word. This project embodies the very essence of how you carry yourself, how you assert your authority, and how you rise to the occasion.  In essence, it’s the soul of the music, and in turn, the music becomes the gravy that defines me.”

Kodak Black Unleashes New Album ‘When I Was Dead’

Kodak Black Unleashes New Album 'When I Was Dead'

Kodak Black has released his latest album, When I Was Dead, affirming his status as an incandescent musical force. Boasting 18 tracks, the album showcases Kodak’s signature blend of bluntly honest raps and soulful crooning that has solidified his iconic status. The album features the visceral track “Lemme See,” where he takes listeners on a raw tour of his native Pompano Beach, and “Burning Rubber,” produced by Boi-1da, intertwining death threats, yacht party flexes, and trap logistics with Kodak’s succinct couplets and wispy singing.

The opening track, “Kylie Grande,” produced by Metro Boomin, unveils Kodak’s softer side, while “2’CY” sees him experimenting with distortive auto-tune over a celestial club beat. When I Was Dead represents quintessential Kodak, blending experimental elements with his tradition of poignant poetry for the trenches, showcasing his inimitable style that bridges the past, present, and future.

Preceded by the May release of “Pistolz & Pearlz,” which included the hit “No Love For a Thug” and collaborations with rising hip-hop artists like EST Gee, VVSNCE, GorditoFlo, Syko Bob, and more, When I Was Dead” marks the next step in Kodak Black’s legacy.
