Latto Points to Stans as Reasons for Female Rap Beef

Latto Wheelie Official Video ft. 21 Savage 0 7 screenshot

Latto is pointing fingers at hip-hop fans for causing a divide among the women of rap. Speaking with XXL, Latto believes stan culture drives the beef between women in rap.

“I think it really don’t be a problem until we let fans, Stans, whatever you want to call them, like the outsiders once they get in the mix. I think that’s what stirs the pot,” Latto said. “Because it’s like, we will all be fans of each other and commenting and following each other, whatever, but then once they get to comparing, they will turn us against each other, which is very weak-minded of us as female rappers.”

She added, “I think we be falling for these traps that they put on female rappers.”

To close out the month, Latto will create a all-women cypher.

Latto is officially a part of the fastest single to hit a billion streams in Spotify history. Latto joined Jung Kook on the “Seven” single earlier this year, which racked up a billion plays faster than any song ever. It only took just over three months.

Latto notched the first No. 1 single placement for Hip-Hop in 2023. Latto‘s collaboration with Jung Kook, “Seven,” lands at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in July, making her the first rapper to get to that position in 2023. It is the first No. 1 of Latto’s career.

Latto celebrated the achievement on her Instagram story: “Oop am I a bora girl now? 🙈 Forever grateful!! Thanks JK for trusting me! Armypots up +10000.”

Jung Kook is a K-pop star and a member of the group BTS. The single is believed to be the first from his forthcoming album.

“Seven” also topped the global Spotify chart in July with 10.937 million streams.

Cassie’s Lawsuit Against Diddy Officially Dismissed After Settlement Reached

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy is officially dismissed. According to TMZ, the suit was ended in New York on Monday. The doc reads, “Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, Plaintiff hereby dismisses this action, with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”

Shortly after news of the lawsuit rattled the world on Thursday, Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit on Friday.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said after the settlement. “I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

For the first time since settling his lawsuit with his ex-lover, singer Cassie, Diddy has been spotted. He was spotted outside his Star Island Miami mansion, beside his chief of staff, with his face buried in his hands.

After settling with Cassie following her explosive allegations. Ben Brafman, Diddy’s lawyer, shared a statement:

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Diddy was sued by his former lover Cassie, stating she was rapped and sex trafficked during their relationship. Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, filed the suit in New York City, stating she was the victim of a “cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking.

Included in the lawsuit was a 2018 rape, which Cassie stated as Diddy attempted to prevent her from leaving him.

Today In Hip Hop History: Wu Tang Clan Dropped Their Third LP ‘The W’ Album 23 Years Ago

On this day in Hip Hop history Wu Tang Clan releases their third studio LP The W. As the follow up to the immensely successful Wu Tang Forever, this album fell a little short of its predecessors success but continued in growing the Wu’s legacy as a whole.

At the time of the album’s production and release, Wu Tang member ODB was facing a legal-saga with seemingly no end. Although that may have stopped Dirt Dog’s ability to grace the album more than once, it did not however derail the Clan’s creative process and ability to execute. Much to the tone of their past work, The W once again proved that Wu-Tang is lyrically the strongest rap collective of all time. As far as production however, RZA toned down the intricate instrumentation used on Forever and went back to the 36 Chambers style of soulful samples coupled with melancholic  drum patterns. This back to basic model allowed the Clan to stand out lyrically as they once did.

Commercially, the album was an international success. It peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 as well as #1 in the UK and Ireland. The album won numerous Album of the Year awards from esteemed publications and is herald as one of Hip Hop’s greater albums.

A$AP Rocky to Stand Trial on Felony Assault Charges

kd

A$AP Rocky will have to take the stand in his felony case for allegedly firing a gun at his former friend, A$AP Relli. The shooting took place outside a Hollywood hotel in November 2021.

According to Superior Court Judge M.L. Villar, Rocky will appear for testimony. He has already pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

According to Villar, the video and testimony from Relli provide sufficient evidence for the defendant to go to trial.

Relli, born Terell Ephron, stated he and Rocky are lifelong friends, but the relationship went sour in 2021, leading to the shooting that grazed Melli’s knuckles.

Currently, video from the area provides audio of two loud pops during the time of the alleged shooting and another showing Rocky walking near the building.

Rocky will return to court on Jan. 8, 2024, for re-arraignment.
