Killer Mike Addresses GRAMMYs Incident and Reveals His Son Has a Match for New Kidney

Killer Mike Addresses GRAMMYs Incident and Reveals His Son Has a Match for New Kidney

After sweeping the Grammys Hip-Hop categories, Killer Mike was spotted led through Crypto.com arena in handcuffs. With little official information available, Killer Mike released an official statement to The Source:

I first want to extend my appreciation to the Grammy’s Committee for recognizing me and my team for the work that went into ‘MICHAEL.’ We are incredibly proud and are basking in this moment. I am also grateful that one of my prayers has been answered – the day after my Grammy win – I learned that my son, who has been on the list for a kidney for years, finally has a match. Obviously, we are elated.
I do want to note that last night, my team and I fielded a number of calls from concerned fans and colleagues wanting to know if I was OK. I greatly appreciate the concern and support, but I am better than OK. As you can imagine, there was a lot going and some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.
Until that time, keep listening to ‘Michael,’ and keep going after your dreams.

– Killer Mike

Ahead of the statement, a source in Mike’s camp revealed the rapper was detained and charged with a misdemeanor while collecting his awards and navigating confusion on where to head for the next portion of the night. They believe Mike will be exonerated.

Congrats again to Killer Mike for a stellar Grammy weekend.

On this date in 2003, 50 Cent released his second and most critically acclaimed album to date Get Rich Or Die Tryin on Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records.

After his street-certified buzz from his Guess Who’s Back mixtape, a meeting with Eminem eventually turned into a million-dollar deal on Dr. Dre and Em’s Shady/Aftermath imprint. With the album executive produced by Dre and Fif, this project became probably the most anticipated release of any debut Hip-Hop album of the new millennium.

Debuting at the pole position on Billboard 200, GRODT sold almost 900K units its first week and is now certified 6x platinum. The commercial success of the album in terms of radio and video plays as well the movie that launched starring 50 Cent with the same title helped earn the album a Grammy nod in 2004.

Some of the album’s forerunning singles include the ever-popular “In Da Club,” “21 Questions” featuring the late Nate Dogg, and “P.I.M.P.,” which became an international hit.

Salute to 50, Dre, Em, and the entire G-Unit for this timeless piece of Hip-Hop history!

Eric Adams Invites 50 Cent for Explanation Over $53 Million Migrant Credit-Card Plan

Cryptocurrency Eric Adams

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is engaging in a public back-n-forth with rapper 50 Cent over the city’s new $53 million pilot program aimed at aiding migrant families. The clash began after 50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, took to Instagram to express confusion and criticism over the program, prompting Adams to extend an invitation for a personal explanation.

50 took to his Instagram stories Saturday to express his confusion by revealing details of the mayor’s latest migrant crisis plan.

“WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain,” the rapper wrote. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

“We need to dispel the rumor that we gave American Express cards to everyone you know, that is just not true,” Adams said Monday.

First to Fitty, I have not had one birthday that I have not played his music,” Adams told reporters at a City Hall press conference after The Post asked him whether he’d reached out to the 48-year-old rap star since the post.

“I would love to explain it to him so that he can go out and do another tweet of saying, ‘you know what, Eric is just a smart manager, and now we understand why he was elected by the people of the city of New York,’ ” Adams said.

Adams, addressing reporters at City Hall, revealed his admiration for the rapper’s music and expressed a desire to clarify the program’s objectives to him. Despite Adams’ invitation, it’s uncertain whether any communication has transpired between the mayor and the rapper.

The initiative, named the Immediate Response Card, involves providing pre-loaded credit cards to migrant families for food purchases at local businesses. Adams defended the program, emphasizing its cost-saving potential and the need to address food wastage in city-run migrant shelters.

However, the program has drawn criticism from various quarters, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who labeled it “reprehensible” and criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies. Despite the backlash, Adams remains steadfast in his support for the initiative, highlighting its potential benefits for local communities and businesses.

The clash between Adams and 50 Cent highlights the nature of the program and its implications for migrant assistance in New York City.

Testimony Reveals Startling Details in Jam Master Jay Murder Trial

Jam Master Jay's Family, Run-DMC Responds to Arrests Made in Late Rapper's Murder Case

In a Brooklyn court on Monday, chilling testimony shed new light on the final moments before Jam Master Jay, the pioneering DJ of Run DMC, was fatally gunned down in his Queens studio in 2002. Witnesses detailed Jay’s involvement in the cocaine trade as a means to “make ends meet,” once his funds from his legendary group slowed down.

Lifelong friend Lydia High testified tearfully, recalling how Jay smiled and embraced one of his assassins moments before the fatal shots were fired. High, who visited the studio that night to have Jay sign paperwork for a major record deal, described the shocking turn of events as the gunman, believed to be Karl Jordan Jr., entered the studio.

Uriel “Tony” Rincon, also shot in the crime, identified Jordan as the killer by his profile and a distinctive “Golden Child” neck tattoo. Prosecutors allege that Jay’s death was a revenge killing stemming from a drug deal gone awry in Baltimore.

Ralph Mullgrav, a convicted drug dealer, testified about Jay’s involvement in cocaine trafficking, describing him as a “smaller player” in the drug trade. Mullgrav detailed how Jay sought to move a significant quantity of cocaine, involving another defendant, Ronald Washington, in the deal.

Mullgrav’s testimony, following his arrest and brief incarceration for refusing to testify, provided crucial insights into Jay’s alleged involvement in the drug trade and the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.

The trial, which continues on Tuesday, promises to unravel further details in this long-unsolved case, that claimed the life of an iconic figure in hip-hop history.

Compton PD: Keefe D’s Nephew Bragged About The Tupac Murder Days After the Las Vegas Shooting

Da5kiuWW4AAbu95

Duane “Keefe D” Davis is currently behind bars and awaiting trial for the 27-year old murder of pop culture icon/freedom fighter Tupac Shakur, but an officer in the Compton Police Department says that several fingers point to Keefe’s nephew, the late Orlando Anderson.

Robert Ladd, a Compton PD Gang Unit officer, said during an exclusive interview with Vlad TV that several eyewitnesses identified Anderson as the triggerman and the miscommunication between the Las Vegas Police Dept. and the Compton PD allowed a white Cadillac that was allegedly involved in the murder to dodge apprehension.

“Within the next few days [of the shooting], we started getting calls from informants,” he said. “And our first ones were saying, ‘Hey it’s Keefe [and] Orlando was the shooter.’ They’re telling us that Bubble Up and Big Dre were in the car. This is days after. This is informants telling us. And it’s just not us; other people had informants too. [Former Compton Police chief] Reggie Sr., this guy in charge of the narcotics unit, Bobby Baker — they were also getting calls with the same information.”

He continued, “So it wasn’t just us getting information about this. We were told that Orlando came back and started to brag about it — not Keefe D, not Big Dre, not Bubble Up. It was just Orlando. Everyone’s telling us, ‘Orlando’s coming back, he’s bragging about killing them.’ You know, rightfully so, probably. But this is within his own gang. So then the word spread and people start calling us.”

Keefe D has now fired his public defender and hired a new attorney, with the letter of substitution filed on January 18. Records show that Carl Arnold, a Howard University School of Law graduate who has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, is now representing the ex-gang leader and accused killer.

Kanye Co-Signs Jay-Z’s Grammy Speech

When Jay-Z was a no-show at Kanye West’s Donda listening party at Chi-Town’s Soldier Field in 2022, it almost seemed as if the two who once seemed inseparable would never reunite in that capacity. Now, Kanye at least sees things the way Hov does when he agreed with Jay’s Grammy speech last night that still has the industry abuzz.

In Jay-Z’s speech in which he called out the Recording Academy, he said, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, but has never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.” He added, “Some of you might leave here feeling robbed, some of you might get robbed,” prompting laughter from the attendees.

Yeezy reposted the infamous speech Hov gave where he dragged the Recording Academy and their criteria for Grammy winners, seemingly approving of the message. This may not mean to expect another Watch The Throne sequel anytime soon, but at least Ye and Jay are on the same page about something.

[WATCH] Jay-Z Drinks Cognac Out Of His Grammy Award Following Beyonce Snub

Screenshot 2024 02 05 at 9.49.40 AM

Hip Hop billionaire Jay-Z took the time during his acceptance of his Dr. Dre Global Impact Award last night at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards to slam the Recording Academy for not giving his wife Beyonce Knowles album of the year.

He spoke on Beyonce being snubbed for Album of the Year, saying, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, but has never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.”

Check out his commentary HERE

Following the heartfelt acceptance speech, Mr. Carter poured himself a shot of Armand de Brignac champagne into his phonograph and threw it back to the delight of the crowd.

Yes, Beyonce is Hov’s wife, but his insight into the winner selection process by the Academy wasn’t too far off the mark. Beyonce has 32 Grammy Awards, which is more than any other artist in the history of the award show. Additionally, Jay and Bey are tied for the most nominations for the coveted phonograph, with both of them boasting an incredible 88 nominations each. Jay himself has earned 24 Grammy awards, with six of those awards being Album of the Year.

[WATCH] Jay Z Calls Out The Recording Academy and Sparks Controversy at The Grammy’s

jayz

In a night filled with celebration and recognition, the 2024 Grammy Awards took an unexpected turn as Jay Z, while accepting the prestigious Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, used his platform to call out The Recording Academy for what he perceived as a snub towards his wife, Beyoncé. The Brooklyn mogul didn’t hold back as he addressed the audience, highlighting the discrepancy between Beyoncé’s unparalleled success and the Academy’s failure to honor her with Album of the Year accolades.

During his speech he said, “I’m just saying, we want y’all to get it right. We love y’all; we love y’all; we want you to get it right, or at least get it close to right, and obviously it’s subjective … because it’s music and it’s opinion-based, but some things — I don’t wan to embarrass this young lady” — referring to Beyoncè — “but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year, so even by your own metrics that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys and never won an album of the year. That doesn’t work.

“Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed,” he continued. “Some of you may get robbed, some of you don’t belong in the category — when I get nervous I tell the truth.”

His words resonated deeply with fans and fellow artists alike, igniting a conversation about the criteria used by The Recording Academy to determine nominees and winners.

In a seemingly unrelated but equally impactful statement, he made a comment about artists feeling “robbed,” a remark that some interpreted as a veiled reference to Nicki Minaj and her fanbase, the Barbz. This offhand comment quickly caught attention on social media platforms, with fans speculating about potential underlying tensions within the music industry.

The Barbz, known for their unwavering support of Nicki Minaj, took to social media to express their disappointment and frustration, interpreting Jay Z’s comment as a direct jab at their favorite artist. The controversy surrounding Jay Z’s speech added fuel to the ongoing debate about fairness and transparency in music award shows, with fans and artists alike questioning the integrity of the selection process.

While Jay Z’s intention may have been to advocate for greater recognition of artists like Beyoncé and highlight the need for a fairer system within The Recording Academy, his comments inadvertently spark

ed controversy within the music community.Thoughts?
