A host of federal agencies have offered up their investigators to launch an “interagency operation” at the MDC(Metropolitan Detention Center) in Brooklyn yesterday(October 28) as Bad Boy music and fashion mogul Diddy remains in federal custody.
The Bureau of Prisons gave a statement to AP, saying that the operation is “designed to achieve our shared goal of maintaining a safe environment for both our employees and the incarcerated individuals housed at MDC Brooklyn.”
The agencies noted on Monday that there was “no active threat” and that the operation was pre-planned some time ago. The agencies did not give any more information about the operation “in an effort to maintain the safety and security of all personnel inside the facility and the integrity of this operation.”
MDC has a horrific reputation, known for its deplorable living conditions as well as murders and other acts of violence among inmates. Diddy attempted to make bail in order to leave MDC, but a judge ruled against him getting out on bail due to his alleged danger to society and his being a flight risk.
Diddy is not the first high-profile inmate at MDC, the facility where well-known prisoners such as R. Kelly and Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman were held before their trials. Diddy, who was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering last month, could face life behind bars if convicted on these charges.
After Ice Cube took the field at Dodger Stadium on Saturday and performed his classic hit “Today Was A Good Day” before Los Angeles’ Game 2 win, who else would’ve been better to return the favor in the Bronx other than the BX’s heavy hitter Fat Joe? According to Yankees fans, it could’ve been anybody else, especially after the matching 4-2 loss against L.A..
Even though Joey Crack pulled out some of his biggest bops of the new millennium, including “Lean Back”, “All The Way Up” and of course, the Empire State anthem “New York”, the overall consensus of Yanks fans felt that Joe’s performance didn’t just miss the mark in exciting the Yankee Stadium crowd, but brought down the morale on 161 Street and River Avenue.
Were the fans right? Well, the Yankees could not score a run until the last out in the bottom of the ninth inning with a two-run HR from Alex Verdugo in the team’s valiant, but losing effort. The Bronx Bombers still have a chance to turn the series around tonight in Game 4, but fighting against a 0-3 deficit against Ohtani and the Dodgers might not end with a “Good Day” for the Yankees.
Over the weekend, Amber Rose found herself in the headlines for suggesting that Beyoncé copied her Republican National Convention speech during a recent rally for Kamala Harris in Houston. But according to Amber, this was nothing more than a lighthearted joke between friends that got seriously misconstrued.
The controversy kicked off after Amber’s comments started circulating, leading fans and media to speculate about a supposed “beef” with Beyoncé. However, as she explained to TMZ, Amber was merely trolling. Out celebrating Halloween in Hollywood, she addressed the misunderstanding, saying it was just a bit of playful shade aimed at Beyoncé—a friend she occasionally ribs for fun. “I troll my friends all the time,” Amber clarified, emphasizing that the supposed accusation was never meant to be taken seriously.
Amber further added that she finds it funny, albeit frustrating, how even lighthearted trolling can spiral into headlines. “You can’t even joke anymore without making international news,” she said. Amber, who has met Beyoncé a few times, expressed surprise at how a casual tease could blow up, pointing out that today’s hyper-connected world doesn’t leave much room for harmless jokes among friends.
Ultimately, Amber Rose’s clarification shows just how quickly talking about Beyonce can turn into a swarm from the Beyhive.

O’Shea Jackson, better known to the world as Ice Cube, made a lot of people mad when he was fed up with the bs and released this scathing album, appropriately entitled Death Certificate 32 years ago on this date.
The album cover itself speaks volumes. A Caucasian corpse with a toe tag that reads “Uncle Sam” draped with the stars and stripes with the recently self-made solo artist pledging allegiance is as anti-establishment as you can get. Not only had Ice Cube been freed from his situation with the legendary Niggaz Wit Attitudes, but he had also been released into a sea of information that would make his metamorphosis from a mere emcee and rhyme writer of a “gangsta” rap group to an unparalleled entertainer unlike anyone else. The LP’s insert is just as powerful as the cover, with Ice Cube and his Lench Mob crew doing the knowledge to the Nation Of Islam’s Final Call newspaper.
The album features melodic, yet truthful messages from the late Dr. Khalid Abdul Muhammad throughout the duration of the album. Songs like “I Wanna Kill Sam” and “Horny Little Devil” echo NOI sentiments, but that doesn’t take away from the surgical lyricism from the former NWA frontman coupled with production from Sir Jinx, the Boogiemen, and Cube himself. Timeless gems like “Black Korea” and “A Bird In A Hand” tackles real-life issues in the urban community and the scenarios he addressed still ail our society today, yet are significantly ignored by today’s artists.
One of the most memorable tracks from Death Certificate is, of course, the infamous “No Vaseline” aimed at Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ren Yella, and their financial arm Jerry Heller. In the song, Cube spits darts like, “..lookin like straight bozos/ I saw it comin’ that’s why I went solo/ and kept on stompin’/ while y’all motherfuckers moved straight outta Compton..” and went straight at Heller’s neck with rhymes like, “..it’s a case of divide and conquer/ ’cause you let a Jew break up my crew/ house nigga gotta run and hide/ yellin’ Compton, but you moved to Riverside..”. N.W.A. never recovered from Cube’s blow, which made this record the ultimate diss record of all time. Ice Cube’s continued success which is still evident today, is just the icing on the cake of how he “dropped four niggas, now he’s makin’ all the dough.”
The Source sends a supreme shout out to Cube, the Lench Mob (you too Kam), Dr. Khalid (RIP) and everyone else involved with this timeless classic!

After a crushing 4-2 loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the World Series in Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Bombers face a sweep, with Dodgers pitching not allowing any runs until the ninth inning against Judge, Soto and the Yankees.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees did manage to get on the scoreboard with a two-out, two-run home run from Alex Verdugo.
The Dodgers jumped on the Yankees in the top of the first inning with a two-run shot from Freddie Freeman, giving L.A. a 2-0 lead, which only increased in the fourth inning. He’s just 1 of 3 players to hit home runs in the first three games of any World Series in history.
The Dodgers made sure to keep the Yanks off the board when Mookie Betts robbed Jazz Chisholm Jr. of a base hit with a sliding grab in center field in the bottom of the fourth inning. Betts, on the very next play, threw out Giancarlo Stanton at home plate for the last out of the inning to keep the guys in pinstripes from scoring until the very last out of the game.
The Dodgers kept the Yankees off the board with their stellar performance on the mound led by Walker Buehler, who took the W in five innings, with five strikeouts and only allowing two hits and two walks.
The boys from the Bronx have a real battle on their hands to keep their World Series hopes alive in Game 4, which will be played in Yankee Stadium tomorrow.

In the high-profile never ending Young Thug YSL RICO trial, prosecutors and defense attorneys had an official chat with the judge in a closed-door session on Monday as the court weighs a motion for mistrial.
To be a fly in that room. Wouldn’t that be something.
The trial, which is the longest in the history of Georgia, began in January 2023 with a jury selection process lasting nearly ten months, sheesh. The trial has been marked by intense moments, including courtroom arrests and allegations of clandestine meetings.
Get this, the media and public were barred from Monday’s proceedings, though 11Alive reported seeing several attorneys and prosecutors enter the room. Court proceedings are expected to reopen to the public on Tuesday. So we need to wait.
ICYMI, the wild case took a critical turn last Wednesday when a defense motion for mistrial followed a witness’s accidental reading of unredacted evidence in front of the jury. Rapper Slimelife Shawty, born Wunnie Lee, was asked to identify individuals involved in the case through social media posts. Although Lee took a plea deal in 2022 after being initially charged, he was called to testify. During his testimony, Lee read aloud an unredacted version of a social media caption, which included the hashtag “Free Qua.” According to the defense, the jury was not supposed to learn which defendants had previously been incarcerated.
“This makes it painfully obvious that the state is not properly preparing its witnesses,” stated Bruce Harvey, attorney for defendant Quamarvious Nichols, on Wednesday. Five individuals, including Nichols and Williams, are on trial.
Nicole Westmoreland, another attorney representing Nichols, added, “The jury has now repeatedly heard about Mr. Nichols being in jail, and we cannot unring that bell, so we will ask for a mistrial.”
What’s more, in response, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker dismissed the jury and witness and admonished prosecutors for the oversight, saying, “What I’m trying to do is fix your sloppiness so everyone would not have wasted 12 months of their lives in this trial.”
Here’s where things are now. Judge Whitaker declined to declare a mistrial with prejudice. The potential for that ruling would permanently end the trial. Now, she did not rule out a mistrial without prejudice, which leaves open the possibility of restarting the case.
