[WATCH] Napoleon Says Tupac Respected Ice Cube So Much He Would Have Dissed Common

Tupac had his fair share of beef during his career, but according to Napoleon, Pac had his eyes set on Chicago legend Common. In The Art of Dialogue, Napoleon revealed that his love for Ice Cube made him want to go at Common. In case you are unfamiliar, Common and Ice Cube had an exchange in the 90s, which clearly settled as they starred in Barbershop together and shared the stage multiple times.

“I remember when the East Coast/West Coast thing was heating up, I think Common and Cube was going through their beef, like they were dissing each other,” Napoleon said. “I remember ‘Pac was like, ‘See, if I was cool with Cube right now, I’d be going after Common for him, but now I’m staying out of it.’”

Napoleon revealed Pac had love for Cube, stating, “I never heard him say anything negative about him.”

Shedding more on the Common side, Napoleon thinks he and Pac are similar. “Good thing he didn’t go at Common ’cause they like the same. If they ever had met each other, they would’ve had a lot of love and respect for each other.”

Tory Lanez to Get Credit for Time Served, Dropping Prison Time to 9 Years

Tory Lanez

Tory Lanez‘s time behind bars for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion will be closer to nine years instead of the previously sentenced 10. Lanez will get credit for the time served.

“Lanez will be credited for 231 days he’s already spent in jail,” court reporter Meghann Cuniff wrote on Twitter. “He gets 15% credit of 34 days. Herriford also is crediting his 40 days of house arrest, for a total of 305 days. He’ll request bail pending appeal, which will be heard Aug. 15.”

Cuniff also noted that the possibility of bail is extremely unlikely.

Tory Lanez will be behind bars for a while, serving time for his shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez’s lawyer, Jose Baez, spoke with TMZ and stated the rapper is “feeling pretty low” and is processing the sentence. He added that the Chixtape rapper would deal with the sentence as best as he could.

Baez also noted that Tory would lean on his faith in God and his fans and family’s support system. Baez also states that they are still fighting for an appeal.

Tory Lanez’s time is to be spent in a California state prison.

The verdict was delivered after a 10-minute argument by Alex Bott on behalf of prosecutors and 20 minutes of defense from Jose Baez. Judge Herriford issued the ruling.

During the hearing, Tory Lanez spoke for several minutes, according to reporter Meghann Cuniff, where he said Megan is “someone I still care for dearly to this day” and said, “the victim’s my friend.”

He also would speak about the mutual loss of their mothers. “We both lost our mothers. We would sit there and drink, and drink until we got numb,” Tory Lanez said.

New Image of Fetty Wap from Prison Surfaces Online

Fetty Wap's 4-Year-Old Daughter's Cause of Death Reportedly Revealed

Fetty Wap is currently serving six years in prison for his role in a multi-million-dollar drug trafficking ring. A new image of the rapper from behind bars has surfaced online.

The New York Daily News reports Fetty Wap, born William Junior Maxwell II, was charged with conspiring of distributing over 100 kilos of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine from the West Coast for sale in New Jersey and Long Island.

In 2022, Fetty Wap pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine. After the plea, Fetty’s lawyers attempted to secure the five-year minimum as a sentence, citing his role in the trafficking was a result of financial strain due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the coming of the worldwide pandemic, things began to change for Mr. Maxwell. There were no opportunities to perform, thus his income was severely limited. He was sued personally, was going through a divorce, and was involved with a tour manager who was stealing from him. While the bills kept coming in, the money to pay them was running out,” his lawyer, Elizabeth Macedonio, wrote.

In opposition, prosecutors were pushing for a nine-year sentence and even used his hit single “Trap Queen,” citing it as a history of a pattern. “Trap Queen” was used as a tribute song to an ex-girlfriend who helped distribute it in Patterson, NJ.

Law enforcement busted the drug ring, collecting $1.5 million in cash, 16 kilos of cocaine, two more of heroin, and several fentanyl pills. Additionally, two 9-mm handguns, a rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, a .40 caliber pistol, and ammunition were recovered.

Tory Lanez Legal Team Says Rapper is ‘Feeling Pretty Low’

Tory Lanez Music Streams Decline 40% After Being Called Out By Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez is going to be behind bars for a while, serving time for his shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez’s lawyer, Jose Baez, spoke with TMZ and stated the rapper is “feeling pretty low” and is processing the sentence. He added that the Chixtape rapper would deal with the sentence as best as he can.

Baez also noted that Tory would lean on his faith in God and his fans and family’s support system. Baez also states that they are still fighting for an appeal.

Tory Lanez’s has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The time is to be spent in a California state prison.

The verdict was delivered after a 10-minute argument by Alex Bott on behalf of prosecutors and 20 minutes of defense from Jose Baez. Judge Herriford issued the ruling.

He also would speak about the mutual loss of their mothers. “We both lost our mothers. We would sit there and drink, and drink until we got numb,” Tory Lanez said.

In a statement from Megan Thee Stallion, read on day one of the sentencing, the rap superstar says she cannot be in a room with Lanez and has yet to find peace.

Thee Stallion’s statement revealed that not only is she still reeling from the trauma, Lanez has yet to take responsibility for his actions. According to TMZ, Hot Girl Meg stated first, Lanez attempted to blame the system and is not attempting to use childhood trauma as an excuse.

Lanez was supposed to receive his sentence on Monday, but the hearing will continue on Tuesday as time ran over. Prosecutors want Lanez to serve 13 years.

Tory Lanez‘s legal team pushed for reduced sentencing. Instead of time in jail, Lanez is seeking probation and a drug treatment program.

Previously Lanez’s attorneys, Baez and Ed Welbourn, filed a 41-page memo detailing reasons for the shooting. The two state Lanez was battling alcoholism and included a report from a psychologist in jail citing a traumatic childhood as aiding the condition. During that childhood, his mother passed away at age 11, and living in a “crack-infested” neighborhood.

The report also states that after Lanez became successful, he leaned on alcohol and weed to deal with his past. The team also pointed to Lanez’s community service as a reason.

Today In Hip Hop History: Chris Lighty’s Violator Records Released ‘Violator: The Album’ 24 Years Ago

On this day in Hip Hop history, the management company and label imprint Violator released their first compilation album entitled Violator: The Album. Showcasing the management team’s star-studded talent roster, this album is full of rarities making it a must-have for any self-proclaimed “Hip Hop head.”

For those out of the loop, Violator was a multi-dimensional entertainment conglomerate ran by Chris Lighty until his untimely passing on August 30, 2012. Thriving mainly from 1999 to the early 2000s, Violator represented some of Hip Hop’s most known titans including Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Missy Elliot, Nas, Mya, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep and LL Cool J just to name a few.

Violator: The Album was the first release from Violator Records, in collaboration with Def Jam. Due to Chris Lighty and Violator’s expansive resources, this album was able to be jam-packed with talent ranging from all sides of Hip Hop. With production handled by The Beatnuts, DJ Scratch, Diamond D, Havoc, Q-Tip, and Swizz Beatz it is hard to dispute that this album is not one of the best-produced projects of 1999; and, as prolific as the production team for this album may be, it still in no way outshines the artist performances. With features from Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Mobb Deep, Ja Rule, Hot Boys, Noreaga, Fat Joe, Big Pun, 8Ball, and Cam’ron, this album can be considered one of the best-orchestrated compilation tapes to date.

Commercially, the album was quite successful peaking at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart. The project sold very well and was certified gold within one month of its release.

Regardless of its sales or star roster, what makes this album a piece of Hip Hop history is the first single released from the project, A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip’s solo debut. “Vivrant Thing” which peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 was released in promotion for Q-Tip’s debut solo LP Amplified. This track marked the evolution of Q-Tip’s career, marking his transition to independence.

Following the success of this album, Violator went on to release a sequel two years prior. Violator: The Album 2.0 had a similar response, but failed to be as popular as its predecessor.

Today In Hip Hop History: Gravediggaz Dropped Their Debut LP ‘6 Feet Deep’ 29 Years Ago

On this date in 1994, WTC affiliates Gravediggaz dropped the crew’s groundbreaking debut album 6 Feet Deep. The group, composed of Prince Paul, Frukwan of Stetsasonic, RNS, Grym Reaper, Mr. Sime, and The Abbott himself aka the Rzarector, released this classic piece on Gee Street Records. The original title, Niggamortis, was changed in order to appeal to mainstream audiences.

The album ended up being a trailblazing prototype for what is now recognized as the “horrorcore Hip Hop” genre. It’s grizzly references to death, graves, and other snuff scenarios carved a lane for Gravediggaz all of their own.

Tracks like “Diary Of A Madman” and “Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide” led the album’s momentum as strong singles, but hidden gems like “Bang Your Head” and “Here Comes The Gravediggaz” were favorites of backpacking rap enthusiasts everywhere.

Salute to the Gravediggaz for this solid album! Peace!
