Draymond Green Ejected After Hitting Suns Player In The Head

Draymond Green received his third ejection of the season after striking Jusuf Nurkic in the head during a defensive possession. Green received a flagrant 2 early in the third quarter and later apologized to Nurkic for the unintentional contact. “I am not one to apologize for things I mean to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t intend to hit him. I sell calls with my arms, so I was selling the call and I swung and unfortunately, I hit him. “You guys have known me long enough, if I intended to do something, I am not apologizing. But I did make contact with him, so I do apologize. It’s a hard hit,” Green said after the game.

Despite only having played in 15 games this season, Green has already tied his career high for single-season ejections. He was previously ejected for a pair of technical fouls on November 11 and for putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold on November 14. Green served a five-game suspension for the latter incident. The league is expected to launch a conduct review on Green after this latest incident.

Jokic Ejected For Swearing At Ref

However, Green wasn’t the only player booted from a game last night. In Chicago, Nikola Jokic was ejected from the Nuggets’ game against the Bulls for swearing at a referee. “Call the foul, motherf-cker!” Jokic yelled at ref Mousa Dagher. As a result, Jokic became a recipient of the rare one-tech ejection. “Jokic was ejected after one technical foul because he directed profane language at the official that by our standards warranted an ejection,” crew chief Mark Lindsay explained after the game.

While Jokic acknowledged that he crossed a line, the Nuggets expressed their surprise at the ejection. “Sometimes it’s not even a technical. I crossed the line, I understand, but sometimes that word doesn’t cross the line. It is what it is,” Jokic said. “I think everybody was surprised it was a one-tech toss. Again, I didn’t hear exactly what was said. Unfortunate, but we won the game and that’s all that matters,” added Nuggets head coach Mark Malone.

LeBron James & Ime Udoka’s NSFW Argument Audio Leaks Online

The audio of LeBron James and Ime Udoka’s recent fight can be heard in a new video of the incident from Saturday night in Los Angeles. In the clip, obtained by Lakers Daily, James complains about Udoka using the word, “b*tch.” For the incident, referees ejected the Houston Rockets coach.

“We all grown men,” James allegedly told Udoka. “That b*tch word ain’t cool, don’t use it so loosely. Don’t use that word so loosely. Nah, don’t use it so loosely, though. Don’t use it so loosely.” Udoka continued: “Y’all got to stop with all the b*tching man!” while adding: “Yeah, yeah, yeah I can. What does it matter what I think? Worry bout ya own self, soft ass little boy.”

Both James and Udoka were asked about the incident after the games. Chris Paul Ejection Deepens Beef With Veteran Ref

Chris Paul has spoken on his beef with veteran NBA ref Scott Foster after Foster ejected Paul from the Warriors’ Wednesday night game with the Suns. “It’s personal. We had a situation some years ago and it’s personal. The league knows. Everybody knows. There was a meeting and all of that. I’m OK with a ref saying whatever they’re saying, but don’t use a tech to get your point across,” Paul said in a post-game interview. Paul’s comments referred to an alleged incident between Foster and Paul’s son while Paul was a Clipper. Furthermore, Paul’s last four teams before the Warriors lost 13 consecutive playoff games where Foster was the crew chief.

Paul was tossed from Warriors-Suns after earning two technical fouls in less than a minute. After protesting a foul against him, Paul was seen chirping at Foster as Kevin Durant lined up to take the resulting free throws. Paul left the game with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Furthermore, Steve Kerr also picked up a technical for yelling at Foster after Paul was ejected. “I didn’t think Chris deserved to be ejected. The first tech, absolutely. But I thought the second one was unnecessary. Everybody gets frustrated out there,” Kerr said after the game.

Boosie Badazz Speaks On NBA Tech Epidemic

It’s no secret that technical fouls and ejections are up this season, with Paul becoming just the latest victim of the trend. However, it’s something that fans are getting sick of and no one is more frustrated than Boosie Badazz. “THE NBA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE TECHINACAL FOULS FOR DUNKING N STARING AFTER THE DUNK SMH YALL TAKING AWAY FROM THE GAME N THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE ATHLETES. ITS OUT OF CONTROL AT THIS POINT. PLAYERS N FANS DESERVE BETTER,” the rapper tweeted last week.

The post came just a few days after Boosie became heated at the refs during a Hawks game he was in attendance for. Boosie filmed himself yelling at the refs from the stands and later went live to further vent his frustrations. “I gotta make this announcement. We got cheated by the referees tonight. I’m so disappointed by the refs tonight. Only person that called a good game was the tall guy with the bald head … Referees called a bad game.” Boosie lamented. The game in question was a 117-109 Atlanta loss to Miami.

Draymond Green Ejected After Wild Warriors-Timberwolves Brawl

Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Jaden McDaniels were all ejected less than two minutes into Tuesday night’s in-season tournament matchup between the Warriors and Timberwolves. The brawl broke out after Thompson and McDaniels clashed in transition. McDaniels pulled on Thompson’s jersey while the latter contested for a long rebound and the pair remained tangled up amid the ensuing breakaway. The two proceeded to start fighting, leading to a game-stopping brawl. Amid the chaos, Green was seen putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock.

After the game, a tight 104-101 Timberwolves win, Gobert appeared to make light of the situation. “Every time Steph doesn’t play, [Green] doesn’t want to play without his guy Steph, so he does anything he can to get ejected,” Gobert told reporters. Furthermore, the French star referred to Green’s actions as “clown behavior” on multiple occasions through his post-game availability. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr defended Green. “As far as the Draymond piece of it, Rudy had his hands on Klay’s neck. That’s why Draymond went after Rudy.”

Green Returns To Controversy

After Jordan Poole was traded to the Wizards in the offseason, and Green preached turning over a new leaf, Warriors fans were likely hopeful that the team could go a season without controversy. However, a cloud now hangs over the Bay Area. Last year, it was Green punching a teammate. This season, he’s now been seen putting an opposing player in a headlock. The NBA is yet to hand down a punishment to Green and the other players who were ejected from last night’s affair. However, it’s likely that Green will be suspended for at least a few games.

As for the Warriors, it’s yet another smudge on an already middling season. The addition of Chris Paul was widely hailed as a move that helped make the Warriors a major contender in the West. However, they are 6-6 and have lost four in a row. That comes after starting the season 5-1. Even with Curry expected to return from injury sooner rather than later, the team will now likely have to survive without the rest of their big three for a significant portion of their upcoming slate. Next up for Golden State is a doubleheader against the 7-4 Thunder.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Sits With Fans Following Ejection

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo did not return to the Bucks bench or locker room after being ejected against the Pistons. Instead, Giannis briefly sat amongst fans in the courtside seats while gesturing at the refs to continue the game. Eventually, Giannis was compelled to leave for the locker room after the refs threatened more reprimands against him.

Giannis’ protest was a result of his ejection being fairly controversial. Giannis picked up his second technical after staring down the Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart after throwing down a dunk over him. The refs didn’t like this and whistled Giannis for his second tech of the game. A disbelieving Giannis tried to reason with the refs but the whistle had already been blown and the officiating team wanted Giannis out of the game. Giannis had 15 points and 9 rebounds at the time of his ejection. Furthermore, the Bucks held on for a 120-118 win.

How Is The Giannis-Dame Experiment Going?

The win over the Pistons puts the Bucks at 5-2 on the season and riding a three-game win streak. As for how the team is adjusting to the superstar tandem of Giannis and Damian Lillard, things couldn’t be going better. Just 0.1 ppg separates the two players’ scoring output, meaning that combined they average 48.7 points per game. Meanwhile, they have settled into their separate niches. Giannis is the rebounding, leading the team with nine boards a game. Meanwhile, Lillard is the playmaker, leading the team with 4.7 assists per game.

However, the Bucks are now very dependent on their tandem. Losing Jrue Holiday cost the Bucks a lot of defense, which can be seen in how their biggest margin of victory this season so far is just eight points. Meanwhile, when they lose – they lose hard. Their two losses this season have been 17- and 19-point blowouts to the Knicks and Raptors. Furthermore, their win over the Pistons came despite a major Pistons comeback attempt after Giannis was knocked out of the game. It remains to be seen if the powerhouse can continue powering for the entirety of the season.

Dillon Brooks Gets First Quarter Ejection In Rockets Debut

Dillon Brooks’ debut for the Rockets lasted 4:33 before the infamous Canadian defender landed himself an ejection. Brooks was given a Flagrant 2 for a groin strike on Pacers center Daniel Theis and tossed from the game. However, Brooks defended himself to reporters after the game. “I tried to navigate a screen. I might have tapped him below the waist, but he got right back up, I don’t know. It’s weird that every time it happens to me, I get picked on. I guess it’s part of reputation.”

Brooks signed a four-year, $80 million deal with the Rockets after the Grizzlies let him walk in free agency. While a well-regarded defender, Brooks has been labeled a “dirty player” for much of his career. This was epitomized during the first round of the playoffs last season when Brooks went all-in on beefing with LeBron. That included a groin strike that saw Brooks ejected. However, Brooks’ poor performance during the series led people to argue that Brooks focused too much on the beef and not enough on the game.

High Expectations For Brooks

While the Rockets are not expected to be a contender this season, Brooks has been pegged as their veteran defensive leader. Furthermore, an impressive offseason has only heightened the expectations for him. Brooks was part of Canada’s FIBA World Cup roster. Canada took bronze ahead of the United States. Brooks was widely praised for several dominant performances, including against the US in the bronze medal match.

However, it appears that Brooks is yet to change his domestic perception. “For a flagrant 2 foul like that, you got to know if a person is doing it on purpose or intention. That’s really going at who I am as a person. That ref, Mitch, that just shows that he just doesn’t know who I am as a person. He’s just going off what’s been said,” Brooks said. “We love his aggressiveness and physicality. But reputations carry in the NBA, and people will look for certain things. You got to monitor that better,” added head coach Ime Udoka.

Trent Williams Not Being Ejected From Thursday Night Football Defended By NFL

The NFL has defended the decision made by the refs during Thursday Night Football not to eject Niners tackle Trent Williams. “We ended up looking at the video we had available to us. And we just didn’t see anything that rose to the level of flagrant, which is the standard that we have to apply to disqualify the player. We couldn’t confirm that 100 percent from the standpoint of was it truly a closed fist with a strike. We just couldn’t determine that.”

The incident in question came as the Niners burned clock in the final seconds of the first half. A scuffle broke out between Williams and Giants defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson. Williams appeared to hit Robinson’s facemask with a closed-fist punch, which would typically warrant an ejection. “Just mixing it up. A lot of tempers flaring out there, it’s a competitive game and sometimes things boil over a little bit,” Williams said of the incident. Furthermore, Williams also called it a “love tap”. The Niners went on to earn a convincing 30-12 win.

Away from the halftime unpleasantness, there were several famous faces in the crowd. Rapper Lil Durk came away from the win with a game-worn jersey from wideout Deebo Samuel. The Chicago rapper hit up the talented wide receiver after the game, posing for pictures on the field with Samuel before hugging it out and leaving with the jersey. Durk’s partner India Royale also joined the pair for a couple of photos. The game took place at the Niners’ home ground of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Furthermore, the game served as the Niners’ home opener.

Samuel had 129 yards and a touchdown on six catches. The win took the team to 3-0, their first three-game perfect start since Samuel’s rookie year in 2019. Brock Purdy continued to prove that he is him for the Niners, putting up 310 passing yards and two touchdowns. As for the Giants, they fall to 1-2 as their 2022 breakout continues to look like more and more of a fluke season. Daniel Jones only managed 137 yards through the air. The Niners next face the Cardinals.

GloRilla Ejects Fans After Objects Thrown On Stage

GloRilla abruptly stopped a concert in Denmark after fans appeared to throw objects onto the stage. While performing at the Roskilde Festival, one of Europe’s largest music festivals, objects believed to be water bottles were thrown on stage and landed near the rapper. GloRilla halted her performance, pointing out the two individuals in question and asking for them to be removed.

Later, the artist took to Twitter, sharing footage of the incident along with a comment on the situation. “Da fact dat y’all make a mf have to talk to y’all like somebody auntie is ins*ne,” the rapper wrote.

However, recent events have led a number of outlets to report that it was in fact a phone that was thrown onto the stage. The footage does not make it clear what was thrown. Regardless, the act of throwing hard objects on stage is becoming a worrying trend.

GloRilla Incident Second Of The Week

Of course, the incident at GloRilla’s Denmark set is the second time this week that a performer has had to deal with things being thrown on stage. On June 18, Bebe Rexha was struck in the head by a phone while performing in New York.

The man arrested for the assault on Rexha is a self-described misogynist who has openly said that he hates women. However, his defense later changed to simply wanting to get a picture with the artist. The individuals involved in the GloRilla incident have not yet been identified.

Fans have thrown things on stage for as long as organized concerts have been a thing. For example, it’s almost a time-honored tradition at this point for women to throw underwear on stage at Ginuwine concerts. However, a worrying trend has started to develop of objects that could, and have, injured people entering the performance space.

GloRilla Drops “Put It On Da Floor” Remix

However, it’s not been all bad news for GloRilla this week. The Memphis rapper also dropped her remix of Latto’s wildly popular “Put It On Da Floor” on June 22. Dubbed the “GloMix“, it comes after a week of hype. Previously, GloRilla said that the song has a “condo” in her head, given how much she likes it.

The release came two days before the BET Awards, where the 23-year-old holds six nominations. That’s the second most at this year’s ceremony behind Drake. These nominations include a nod for Album of the Year for Anyways, Life’s Great. Released in November 2022, the debut EP peaked at #11 on the Billboard 200.

Elsewhere, GloRilla was also named to XXL‘s Freshman Class of 2023. The prestigious list from the long-running hip hop outlet highlights the best new faces on the scene each year. GloRilla more than earned her place with a phenomenal first year on the scene, including a top-ten Billboard hit with “Tomorrow”.
