Ed Lover Says 50 Cent Is “Stepping Over The Line” With Diddy Jokes

On Friday’s episode of Ed Lover’s Cmon Son podcast entitled “DIddy Do It?”, the Hip Hop living legend said that 50 Cent’s continuous trolling of Diddy amid his sexual misconduct allegations have become way over the top.

“[A]s much as I love 50, I think 50 is stepping over the line now. I really do,” Lover said.

The former Yo! MTV Raps host admitted that even though FIf’s jabs maybe funny, even revealing that he has told his own Diddy jokes during the pending lawsuit, but says that 50’s nonstop method of embarrassing Diddy has become way too much.

“He’s kicking the shit out this n-gga while he’s down,” Lover said.

Ed Lover also agreed with Uncle Luke’s take on Diddy’s situation; he’s being punished by liquor company Diageo, who cut ties with Diddy last year after he sued them for racial discrimination. “I believe what I just saw Uncle Luke say earlier today: that this is a machine coming after this dude,” Lover said. “I think it’s Diageo. Diageo is fucking powerful. They’re the second- or third-largest alcohol distribution company in the world … Puff all of sudden decides to sue them for racial discrimination. All of this shit comes out right after that.” He then added, “Somebody that got some money are putting their foot in Puff’s ass.”

Ed Lover says that 50 Cent has crossed the line when it comes to trolling his longtime rival, Diddy. Discussing the feud between the two as well as the bevy of civil lawsuits Diddy is facing on his C’Mon Son podcast, Lover argued that 50 is kicking a man when he’s down. “[A]s much as I love 50, I think 50 is stepping over the line now. I really do,” Lover said. “He’s kicking the sh*t out this n***a while he’s down.”

The comments come after 50 compared Diddy to Jeffrey Epstein in a post on social media over the weekend. He also has repeatedly discussed his plans to make Diddy’s ongoing scandal into a documentary. While many fans have been enjoying 50’s jokes, his latest post did result in some backlash from fans on Instagram.

After sharing a photo of Denzel Washington, 50 remarked that the police would come looking for Diddy’s alleged tapes soon. “Poor fif. It’s OK to say your feelings are hurt! This crazy obsession you have with Puff is getting out of hand,” one user commented. Ed Lover Backs Up Katt Williams’ Claim That Steve Harvey “Hated On” Bernie Mac

Ed Lover confirmed Katt Williams’ recent comments on Steve Harvey “hating on” Bernie Mac during Friday’s episode of his C’Mon Son! podcast. Expanding on what Williams said during his appearance on Club Shay Shay, Lover alleged that Harvey did try to take Mac’s role on Oceans 11.

“He [Williams] goes on to say that he was supposed to be one of the Kings of Comedy — that they approached him after Bernie passed,” Lover said. “But he didn’t want to go on the Kings of Comedy tour because of Steve Harvey’s treatment of Bernie Mac. He has a lot of respect for Bernie Mac.” From there, he explained that he was a close friend of Mac’s until his death. He added: “The stuff that Katt Williams said about Steve Harvey calling to try to get Bernie’s role on Oceans 11, and that kind of stuff? Bernie told me out of his own mouth. I believe Bernie Mac when he said Steve Harvey hated on him.”

Ed Lover has come to Eminem’s defense by questioning Dr. Umar’s credentials to speak on hip-hop during an episode of the C’Mon Son! podcast. Umar previously attributed Eminem’s status as one of the greatest rappers of all time to “white supremacy.”

“Where did you get your doctorate?” he asked on the show, rhetorically. “What makes you a doctor? And then, where did you come from and what makes you a[n] authority on hip-hop? Now Eminem don’t need Dr. Umar to tell him he’s one of the greatest of all time because we’ve already have said it. hip hop is for everybody. hip hop might’ve been created by Black people, but the love of music, melodies and rhymes have spread all over this world.”

He added: “That’s like saying [Big] Pun can’t be one of the greatest of all time because he’s not African American, ’cause he’s Puerto Rican; Fat Joe don’t deserve to be in hip hop because he’s not African American. You weren’t there, Dr. Umar, respectively. You were not there.” Lover is far from the only one to speak out against Umar’s comments. Ed Lover says that he’s worried about Cardi B after the rapper posted about suicide on social media, last week. Addressing the incident on his C’Mon Son! podcast, Lover shared his advice for Cardi amid her mental health struggles.

“You mean to tell me you nasty motherf*ckin’ little b*tches and n****s affected Cardi that much, that you make her want to put a bullet in her head?” he said. “That scares me. It scares me. Cardi, take your time, and get your mental right.”

Ed Lover Lists Jay-Z Protégé Amil As Biggest “What If” In Hip-Hop

Ed Lover says that Amil, who was previously signed with Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records, is the biggest “What If” in hip-hop history. Amil released just one studio album during her career, 2000’s All Money Is Legal.

Lover discussed Amil’s career in response to Nelly listing The D.O.C. as the biggest “What If.” He also listed Pop Smoke and Nipsey Hussle are good choices.

“Nelly said, hands down, the biggest ‘What If’ in Hip Hop history is The D.O.C. because [he] got hurt after giving us one album, right?,” Lover said on Instagram. “So I would say yeah, Nelly’s right about D.O.C. But I would also like to add Nipsey Hussle. I would also like to add Pop Smoke. I would also like to add Amil.”

“And Imma tell you why I’m adding Amil,” he continued. “Cause with JAY-Z on the pen game? Amil coulda been something stupid special for sure. So: The D.O.C., Pop Smoke, Nipsey Hussle, Amil. I think those are the biggest “What Ifs” in Hip Hop history.”

Amil dropped All Money Is Legal back in August 2000. The album peaked at 45 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Despite the debut’s success, Roc-A-Fella dropped Amil from its roster shortly afterward. While rumors circulated that there was a conflict between her and Jay-Z, she’s since denied them. Instead, she cites the pressure of the music industry and wanting to focus on raising her child.

In 2011, Amil spoke about her departure from Roc-A-Fella with Vibe Magazine.

She explained: “I haven’t spoken to Jay in years but I really wish I could talk to him because that would just really bring closure to me. But he knows I love him. People think there was bad blood between us, but there never was any bad blood. Things happen and I wasn’t ready for where my career was going at that time. It was really overwhelming.”
