Dwight Howard’s Sexual Assault & Battery Case Gets Dismissed

In July of 2023, Stephen Harper filed a lawsuit against Dwight Howard, accusing the former NBA star of sexual assault and battery. Reportedly, the suit stemmed from an encounter they had at Howard’s Georgia home in 2021. Harper accused Howard of sexually assaulting him, which Howard denied. Instead, he insisted that they took part in “consensual sexual activity.” He proceeded to ask the judge to dismiss the case, a request they quickly shot down in February.

Now, however, ESPN reports that Harper has dismissed every claim he made against Howard, meaning he cannot sue him again for those claims. Howard’s attorney Justin Bailey also told the outlet that Harper was not paid to drop the lawsuit. At the time of writing, it remains unclear what prompted this decision.

In Harper’s original filing, he alleged that he and Howard exchanged various DMs that were sexual in nature. Eventually, after months of chatting, Howard allegedly invited Harper to his house for sex. When he arrived, Harper alleged that he was made to participate in a threesome with a cross-dresser named Kitty. Howard’s legal battle with Harper is not the only one he’s seen the end of as of late, however. In March of this year, Howard also dropped his lawsuit against Masin Elije.

Back in 2018, Elije allegedly spread rumors that Howard is bisexual. He denied this at the time and went on to sue her for defamation. Reportedly, he decided to drop the suit because he did not believe he’d be able to gather enough evidence to win the case. Dwight Howard is someone who has had quite a bit of turmoil as it pertains to his personal life over the last little while. Overall, he has been accused of being bisexual. Although this shouldn’t be a big deal, Howard has made it so by denying it at every turn. Furthermore, he was recently accused by a man of sexually coercing him. Howard is currently being sued for this, and a judge recently refused to drop the lawsuit. Needless to say, things are not going extremely well for the former NBA star.

When it comes to the rumors about being bisexual, they were first brought up by a transwoman named Masin Elije. This is a rumor that came out back in 2018, and it continued to snowball from there. Overall, Howard was quick to deny that this was true. In fact, he was so offended by it that he ended up filing a defamation lawsuit against Elije. This lawsuit has been ongoing for years at this point. However, we now have an update. According to The Neighborhood Talk, Howard has officially decided to dismiss the lawsuit.

As per the report, Howard decided to do away with the lawsuit because he believed he would have lost. He was unable to produce evidence that Elije had lied about anything. For now, Elije is reportedly feeling relieved about this all being over. Regardless, it was a difficult few years for her as she had to deal with a lawsuit from a rich and powerful person. Now, Howard and Elije can officially put the whole thing behind them, once and for all.

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Dwight Howard Lawsuit

A judge has refused to dismiss the lawsuit filed against Dwight Howard last year. “My comment, at this time, is that we are glad the court denied Mr. Howard’s motion and look forward to proving our client’s case,” the attorney for Stephen Harper told ESPN. Harper is suing Howard after alleging sexual assault on the part of the former NBA player. However, in a win for Howard, the judge did seal an exhibit of allegedly embarrassing text messages.

Despite this ruling, the case remains in discovery and has no trial scheduled. “Justice will prevail and we fully trust in our justice system and the process. This order is a part of the process. We will engage in discovery and will further prove our case and when the time is right we will let our future pleadings speak for themselves,” one of Howard’s attorneys told ESPN. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Howard has been accused of sexually assaulting a man at his home. Howard has formally denied sexually assaulting model Stephen Harper. However, he did not deny inviting Harper to his home for a threesome, which allegedly involved a cross-dresser named Kitty. Furthermore, Harper alleges that he was forced to perform sexual acts on Howard and that Howard performed non-consensual acts on him after he objected to participating in the activity.

Furthermore, allegations of Howard’s predatory behavior have been corroborated in the months following the Harper’s lawsuit. “He goes to sex parties and preys on younger men. That is why he originally why he threatened, forced, and tried to intimidate me into signing a NDA,” influencer and author Masin Elije wrote on social media. Additionally, Elije claimed that they had also been harassed by “Kitty” in 2018. It is believed that is the same cross-dresser that Howard used in an attempted threesome with Harper. Harper did not respond to Elije’s claims at the time.

Dwight Howard Signs New Basketball Contract: Details

Dwight Howard is someone who has been involved in quite a bit of controversy as of late. Overall, he is someone who has been accused of sexual assault and coercive behaviors. Although he has denied any wrongdoing, there is still a lot of speculation surrounding him. In the midst of all of this, he has tried to continue his basketball career. Unfortunately for him, he has not been able to keep stable employment. While he was able to play a bit in Taiwan, he has not been able to make it back to the NBA.

However, Howard did get a bit of good news recently. According to Shams Charania, the former NBA star has found a new place to play. Essentially, he will play for a club called Strong Group which is based in the Philippines. The team is set to play in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, which is a two-week tournament-style event. Overall, this is not the biggest look, although it is one that allows him to continue his basketball playing endeavors.

Based on the allegations surrounding his name, and the amount of time he has been gone, it seems unlikely he will ever return. However, playing overseas has certainly helped him expand his brand and his fanbase. Plenty of players have gone overseas and have had a lot of success. Dwight Howard Seeks Dismissal Of Stephen Harper Lawsuit

Dwight Howard has filed a motion seeking a pre-trial dismissal of the lawsuit brought against him by Stephen Harper. Howard’s motion calls Harper’s alleged assault “consensual”. Additionally, the motion also states that the lawsuit is “frivolous” and born of “unrequited love” on the part of Harper. Furthermore, Howard and his legal team accused Harper’s attorneys of submitting doctored text messages as evidence. This came after Harper’s team filed previously unseen text messages to the court.

“In short, the totality of the text messages between Mr. Howard and Mr. Harper make it abundantly clear that Mr. Harper’s claims are frivolous, that he was a willing participant in the events of July 19, 2021, and the early morning hours of July 20, 2021, and that the touching of his person had been invited by him. More importantly, the explicit messages not only show consent but also that Mr. Harper was initiating some of the sexual contact. Mr. Harper not only invited the initial experience, but tried to initiate a second encounter because the first was so enjoyable,” Howard’s motion read in part. The court has yet to rule on the motion.

Royce Reed Considering Dwight Howard Lawsuit In Light Of Diddy Situation

Royce Reed has told VladTV that she is considering a lawsuit against Dwight Howard. Reed’s musing comes after Cassie sued, and settled, with Diddy over historic abuse allegations. Reed has made no secret that she suffered at the hand of Howard and has not ruled out filing a lawsuit of her own. However, Reed also acknowledged that a settlement was not a substitute for the recovery she believed she needed to continue to do.

Furthermore, Reed also doubted that Howard would ever make it back to the NBA. “I believe, as a collective, they [the NBA] don’t care for him. I think it’s just the drama in general. You’re talking about a billion-dollar industry. And you’re talking about someone who is bringing all this drama into that environment. And it’s not [good] drama like Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift,” Reed said. Howard did receive some attention in the offseason, namely from the Warriors. However, the team chose not to sign Howard. Many experts believe that teams simply didn’t have space or the resources to accommodate Howard, his demands, or his potential drama.

Reed revealed that Howard had come to her on numerous occasions to express a desire for him to see other women and for them to have experiences with other women. However, Reed says that she shut down the topic every time it was raised. Of course, it’s not the first time that Reed has brought up Howard in the interview. In a previous part, Reed painted a scathing picture of indifference on the part of Howard towards her pregnancy. As Reed tells it, Howard tried to ditch her as soon as she told him she was pregnant. Howard allegedly tried to get her to sign an NDA while also demanding that she not put his name on the birth certificate or the baby registry.
