Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Shows Off Gruesome Elbow Injury From New Movie “The Smashing Machine”

During the filming of A24’s MMA biopic The Smashing Machine, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson suffered a right elbow injury, which he disclosed on social media. “A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy,” he said in his own words. “As you guys know, I’m filming a movie called ‘The Smashing Machine,’” Johnson said Tuesday in an Instagram video. “And anytime your film is called ‘The Smashing Machine,’ well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up.” Johnson continued by demonstrating the severity of the wound in the video.

Dwayne Johnson showed off the gruesome injury on his Instagram. The Rock said, “Look at that sucker right there. It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow. I got banged up pretty good today in our scenes, and there might be some soft tissue damage in there.” When TheWrap contacted A24 to see if Johnson’s injuries would affect the film’s production, the studio did not reply.

The good news is that Dwayne assured his fans that the pain is now bearable. However, he will require tests to ascertain the full degree of the damage after the inflammation subsides. Johnson has made it plain that he will persevere in the interim, maybe with a lot of assistance from his tequila brand. The drama The Smashing Machine is based on the life of renowned mixed martial artist Mark Kerr, who competed in the UFC during its brutally early days in the year 2000. The biopic explores his life as he battles addiction, success, love, and friendship.

Johnson takes on his most serious part and endeavors to take on the role that will usher in a new era for the superstar. Notably, Benny Safdie is directing the movie alone for the first time from a script he authored. Benny, along with his brother Josh, directed Uncut Gems, which starred Adam Sandler and NBA great Kevin Garnett. Overall, it looks like the injury won’t keep The Rock from completing the movie. Hopefully, the injury isnt as gruesome as it seems.

Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson just added method actor to his resume with his uncanny transformation in “The Smashing Machine.” The Rock will play 2-time UFC champion Mark Kerr, a former wrestler turned MMA star who later suffered from addiction. The film from A24 is written and directed by Benny Safdie.

The first look images are here and Johnson is nearly unrecognizable.

According to A24’s synopsis, “The Smashing Machine” is based on Kerr’s life as he “struggles with addiction, winning, love and friendship in the year 2000.”

Variety reports the film will also star Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, The Fall Guy) as Kerrs’s wife, Dawn Staples.

The two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion also won the World Vale Tudo Championship tournament, the NCAA National Wrestling Championship, the National Freestyle Championship, the ADCC World Submission Championship, and the PRIDE FC Heavyweight Championship. So, basically, he was an icon with one helluva story. One can only imagine Johnson will play the heck out of this role.

Safdie will executive produce under Out for the Count. Eli Bush and David Kopland are executive producing. A24 is producing with Johnson and Dany Garcia via their Seven Bucks Productions.

Logan Paul Emotionally Recalls The Rock Dropping Him After Infamous Japan Video

Logan Paul bared his heart on the latest episode of IMPAULSIVE, telling John Cena about the impact that the Rock dropping him had on his psyche. “I knew I let my family down. I knew I let my fans down. But letting my idol down? That really hurt,” Paul explained, the emotion in his voice tangible. What hurt even more, Paul explained, is that prior to The Rock dropping, the pair had been close and Paul considered the wrestler and actor a genuine acquaintance.

According to Paul, the inciting incident for The Rock dropping him was his infamous 2017 Japan vlog. Paul and his friends, who had been traveling Japan, decided to visit and film in Aokigahara, also known as the “Suicide Forest” due to the high rate of suicides that take place there. As part of Paul’s vlog, which was uploaded to his YouTube channel, he filmed a recently deceased individual that he and his friends encountered. While Paul had been controversial prior to the video, the vlog was one of the first incidents that defined Paul as one of the site’s most divisive creators. And from what Paul has now revealed, it appeared to cost him a relationship with one of his heroes.

Logan Paul Announces CryptoZoo Buyback

Elsewhere, Logan Paul recently announced a $2.3M CryptoZoo buyback, purchasing all Base Egg and Base Animal assets. The move will finally mean that investors who accused the influencer of running a crypto scam will be able to recoup their investment in the NFT video game project. In an accompanying statement, Paul said he had “only the best intentions” and that the game’s aborted release was due to “regulatory hurdles that would need to be cleared that I did not originally understand”.

Additionally, Paul announced a lawsuit against CryptoZoo’s developers as well as Jake “Crypto King” Greenbaum. Paul has accused the two men of leaking classified information about the project, causing external traders to capitalize and devalue the market for ZOO tokens. Their actions, Paul alleges, sunk the project’s market value from $130M to $26M. The defendants have not yet responded to Paul’s allegations.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the latest member of the TKO Group Holdings, Inc., board of directors. The company is a merger of WWE and the UFC under the Endeavor umbrella.

As part of the deal, WWE has created a services and merchandising agreement with the Hollywood and Sports icon, where he will provide promotional, licensing, and other services to the company. Johnson now has complete ownership of “The Rock” name as lsited in an intellectual assignment agreement.

“I am thrilled to partner with Dwayne and welcome his immense talent to TKO’s Board,” said Ariel Emanuel, CEO of TKO. “Dwayne brings an incredible track record of creating content and building globally recognized consumer brands, and he will play a key role in realizing our ambitions for TKO.”

That was the case with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who had a new wax figure unveiled at a Paris museum over the weekend. The only issue, fans don’t think it looks much like him at all.

Fans compared the figure to Mr. Clean and Vin Diesel and all seemed to agree that it didn’t look much like The Rock at all. Clearly, Johnson heard some of the criticisms and according to TMZ, he responded in a recent Instagram post. “For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at “updating” my wax figure here with some important details and improvements – starting with my skin color,” his answer reads. After about seven years outside of the ring, The Rock made his comeback appearance at Friday Night SmackDown last night (September 15). Of course, this wasn’t a surprise to many fans who knew that an announcement from SmackDown meant that he’d be cooking up again. Before he emerged, Pat McAfee kicked the whole thing off, and Austin Theory interrupted him by talking some smack about the show. But McAfee said that SmackDown is “the people’s show,” and that’s when the pro wrestling legend made his return.

Furthermore, he and Theory got into it right after The Rock started a “You are an a**hole” chant against him. Not only that, but the 51-year-old had to treat the crowd to some signature moves, and hit Theory with a People’s elbow and a spine buster. In fact, he even prompted Pat McAfee to give the former a shot, and swapped out the lead character role for a coach. To top it all off, The Rock grabbed one of Theory’s shoes and threw it into the stands, much to the viewers’ delight both in-person and on social media, where people reacted wildly to the appearance.
