Diddy’s Alleged Associate Brendan Paul Charged With Felony Drug Possession

Last month, a series of events took place that rocked Diddy’s foundation. After months of facing lawsuits accusing him of decades of bad behavior, the stakes were raised substantially. That came after the federal government executed two raids on the rap mogul’s properties in both Miami and Los Angeles. On the same day, his plane was grounded at the airport in Miami. That led to one of his alleged associates, Brendan Paul, being arrested after cocaine and marijuana candy was found on the plane.

Many have alleged that Paul had been serving as Diddy’s main assistant, which makes his arrest a particular issue for the rap mogul. That got worse when he was hit with a felony count of drug possession. The raid executed last month is reportedly part of an investigation into some pretty serious allegations against the rapper. Those accusations include sex trafficking, illegal weapon possession, and more. TMZ speculates that the government could be in position to offer Brendan Paul a deal for information relevant to their investigation.

Kodak Black Still In Prison Despite Dropped Drug Possession Charge

Kodak Black is still in significant legal trouble and behind bars right now, despite a judge dismissing his drug possession charges stemming from a December 2023 arrest. Moreover, according to The Associated Press, Judge Barbara Duffy dropped this charge on Friday (February 9), but she and the court ordered him to stay in prison. This is because the Florida rapper still faces evidence tampering charges in this specific case, and if those are dismissed, only then will he see freedom. Concerning this December 7 arrest, prosecutors could not verify whether or not his claims of actually having an oxycodone prescription are true.

Furthermore, law enforcement officials searched Kodak Black’s vehicle that day in Plantation, Florida. They found him sleeping in his Bentley’s driver’s seat. They claimed they found a substance similar to cocaine within, which he tried to discard of and even ingest orally. Still, the 26-year-old maintained that this was not cocaine at all, but rather the aforementioned and prescribed oxycodone in his possession. Not only that, but he claimed that this was to deal with injuries sustained during a nightclub shooting in Los Angeles in February of 2022.

This arrest caused Yak’s bond to be revoked, and got hit with the two aforementioned charges plus illegal parking. However, his lawyer Bradford Cohen hopes that this will lead to a dismissal of the evidence tampering charge, as well. “I wasn’t surprised,” he stated concerning Judge Duffy’s decision to drop the drug charges, according to the Sun-Sentinel. “Whenever a court follows the rule of law, I’m never surprised. I’m surprised when they don’t follow the rule of law, that’s when I’m surprised.” Not only does Kodak Black’s attorney want him free from jail, but he also wants his bond reinstated.

GRANTED,” Cohen captioned an Instagram post posted shortly after his dropped charge became news. “I will leave that right here. We have moved to have his bond reinstated. Kodak Black Files To Have Drug Possession Case Thrown Out

Kodak Black and his legal team want the rapper’s 2022 drug possession case thrown out, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. They argue that the pills Kodak possessed were completely legal and acquired over the counter as Tylenol, not oxycodone. Authorities had charged Kodak with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of trafficking oxycodone in July of that year.

Additionally, Kodak’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, accuses the Broward Sheriff’s Office of a massive cover-up involving FBI Special Agent James Mitchell. He argues Mitchell is biased against his client. He writes in the motion that the pills were destroyed after test results found them to just be simple over-the-counter medication. Cohen describes it all as a “coordinated takedown” of Kodak.

It’s not the first time Cohen has accused authorities of having a vendetta against Kodak. After Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to felony gun charges, Cohen explained to Fox News that Kodak was treated much worse. “There’s no such thing as not getting jail time on a gun charge on any kind of gun charge,” Cohen explained, “I’ve never seen anyone where this offense was charged and they didn’t get some sort of prison sentence. And in fact, most of the time in federal court, you very rarely see people get anything but a prison sentence.” He added: “I think that this is like, you know, they figured the easiest way for them to save face [was] to charge him, not give him prison, and then hope that [Joe] Biden doesn’t give him a pardon until he’s on his way out two years.”

The latest motion arrives after Kodak sparked health concerns after appearing on Drink Champs, last month. Many fans found Kodak’s behavior confusing and much of what he said difficult to understand. He responded to the concern on Instagram Live afterward. “Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see too because looks could be deceiving,” Kodak said.
