Tyler The Creator’s new album Chromakopia just dropped this morning (October 28). The project is full of features, but none of them are credited on the tracklist, so fans have been having fun figuring out who guests on the album.
Glover also joined Tyler at his Coachella set earlier this year. There, Tyler spoke about the rags-to-riches nature of their relationship, saying, “You know what’s sick? I used to hate that n****. Seriously, I don’t know why, I gotta go to therapy to figure it out. But then this n**** put this song called ‘Urn’ out, U-R-N. It was so undeniable, n****, I was at conflict with myself. I’m like, ‘F*ck, how could a n**** that I hate so much be so good?’ And now, the tables have turned and this n**** barely returns my calls. Donald, I f*ck with you. Thank you for putting out sh*t that exceeds expectations or the perception that n****s like us should make. I love you, thank you for existing, and thank you for coming out.”

Chromakopia is out now via Columbia. Find more information here.
Donald Glover is putting The New World Tour on hold. Speaking on Friday, the artist formerly known as Childish Gambino revealed he is suffering from an “ailment.”
“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent,” Glover shared “After being assessed, it became clear i would not perform that night, and after more tests, i could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked.”
He added, “As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal. My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates.”
Tickets will be returned at the point of purchase.
Yesterday (October 4), Childish Gambino made the “difficult decision” to cancel the remaining dates on his The New World Tour to tend to a medical emergency.
Back on September 8, Childish Gambino announced the postponement of his scheduled show at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas citing illness. But in a post uploaded to X (formerly Twitter), Childish Gambino shared what went into that decision after a successful show the day prior at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Read Childish Gambino’s full statement below.

I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.
Getty Image Donald Glover wanted to retire his musical moniker, Childish Gambino, on a high note. Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out that way for the “Lithonia” musician. Kaytranada had a noteworthy 2023, thanks primarily to Kaytraminé, his collaborative album with Aminé. He’s had a big 2024, too, with the June release of his latest album, Timeless, which includes the Childish Gambino collaboration “Witchy.” Given that October is here and Halloween is weeks away, the duo figured now would be an appropriate time to give the song a new video.
The new visual sees the pair performing the song in a dark studio environment, where they interact with some supernatural women, mirroring the song’s lyrics.
On the track, Gambino sings of a special someone who inspires mystical feelings: “I can feel you in the night / No lie / I don’t want no other vibe / No lie / I been missing somethin’ / That I cannot control / When I’m near, in your arms, in your eyes / I realize it’s voodoo / You make me feel like I’ve been floatin’ / This ain’t no spell, you got me open, girl / You’re being witchy and I love it, girl.”
“Witchy” broke new ground for Gambino this summer: It debuted at No. 19 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs chart, giving Gambino his first ever placement on that particular chart. Indeed, it’s a song Gambino has embraced, as at the first show of The New World Tour in August, he gave “Witchy” its live debut.
“I do not take it lightly that people spend hundreds of dollars to see me. I know that’s a lot of money, especially now, when everyone’s broke, everything’s too expensive. If this isn’t the best live show you’ve ever seen, after the first song you can literally leave and get your money back.”
He also spoke about having his 8-year-old song Legend sing on a new song, saying:
“He has really good pitch, and he was always interested in what I was doing. […] [He got the ball during a soccer game] and in the middle of bringing it down the field, he grabbed his chest and falls to the ground, pretending he’s dying. I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he’s a performer.’ He’s not going to be Messi. He’s an artist on some level, he values experience.
In a perfect world, I wouldn’t have my kids in the business. I don’t love the industry, it does something to people. So it was hard, but he’s really good and I was super proud of him. I wanted to share that joy with people — which is scary, because in general, when a large group of people sees something beautiful, they want to destroy it.”
Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, had to postpone the Houston, Texas, show of his The New World Tour over the weekend due to illness. Now, the rest of the North American dates on the trek have been called off (for now), too.
“hey everyone. unfortunately i have to postpone the rest of the north american tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” Glover wrote on X on Monday. “hold onto your tickets. ALL tickets will be honored for the upcoming dates in north america when they are rescheduled. thanks for the privacy. thanks for the support. thanks for the love.”
The New World Tour kicked off earlier this month, following the release of Glover’s final album as Gambino, Bando Stone & the New World. “It really was just like, ‘Oh, it’s done.’ It’s not fulfilling,” the Community star told The New York Times about retiring his long-time moniker. “And I just felt like I didn’t need to build in this way anymore.” He added, “Success to me is, honestly, being able to put out a wide-scale album that I would listen to. For this album, I really wanted to be able to play big rooms and have big, anthemic songs that fill those rooms, so that people feel a sense of togetherness.”
Thanks to fans on Reddit, we can see that vinyl for Awaken, My Love! is $30, while Because The Internet is $40. Meanwhile, tees and hoodies range from $45 to $100, and Bando Stone trucker hats are $35. You can get a decent look here.

Donald Glover has launched his final tour as Childish Gambino — The New World Tour — and is fittingly playing hits from across his discography as he says farewell to his alter ego. While there are plenty of tracks from his recently released Bando Stone & The New World soundtrack, plenty of the set’s songs come from more established releases, such as Awaken, My Love!, Because The Internet, Camp, and Kauai — there’s even a song from Culdesac, the self-released 2010 mixtape that put Glover on the map as an artist. On Monday, July 22, Gambino’s official video for the Bando track “Lithonia” arrived.
The Jack Begert-directed video captures Gambino singing in a dark room about how “nobody gives a f*ck.” It seems like a relatively tame, grungy rock video for about 80 seconds. Then, it becomes obvious that everyone is teetering toward something drastic — tensions heightened so much sweat drips off their faces.
The truly shocking climax comes when Gambino gutturally screams and his eyes explode from his face. An onlooker’s face is covered in his blood, causing her to also scream wildly before he chases her through the woods.
“I always knew, like, Childish Gambino was like a character, on some level I wanted it to end,” he said. “I feel like the Childish Gambino character is almost like the boss from The Office. It’s like, yeah, that worked 10 years ago. It’s like, oh, it’s a little sad, but it’s also like, wow, the cycle kind of continues, which is great I think.”
