DJ Drama Wants the Verzuz Smoke: ‘I Have Said Khaled’s Name'

Gangsta Grillz versus We The Best. Who wins? DJ Drama has continued his media rounds, and when he pulled up to Hot 97, he revealed that he has no fear of seeing DJ Khaled in a VERZUZ.

Speaking on Khaled, Drama said, “I’m with all the smoke. I would love to do it. It’s great for Verzuz. I have a catalog of records, I have a catalog of projects. I have two superstar artists, Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow.”

But he didn’t stop there. He let fans know that he has said Khaled’s name and is just waiting.

“I have said Khaled’s name, let’s see Khaled say Drama’s name. I wanna see on record, someone ask Khaled, ‘What do you think about DJ Drama in a Verzuz?’ And let me put it like this – I do nothing but tip my hat and salute to that man and his accomplishments, and the greatness that he’s done for the culture. It’s all love, it’s just competition. When we get on that court, I’m ready to bust anybody’s ass.”

There is the challenge, the ball is in Khaled’s court. Who do you pick to win? You can hear it from DJ Drama below.

The Famously Profane Eminem Achieves ‘Billboard’ Christian Chart Glory With His First No. 1 Song

Eminem is a notably explicit rapper with some of the most controversial lyrics in mainstream music history. In fact, his words (and the marketing practices of the entertainment industry more broadly) were once the topic of a congressional hearing in 2001, with one representative saying, “When you hear the words about raping your mother or killing your mother, I think that the industry should be embarrassed that that’s award-winning entertainment.”

Back then, it may have seemed unlikely that Em would ever top any Christian music charts, but here in 2022, that’s just what he’s done. On Billboard‘s latest Hot Christian Songs chart, DJ Khaled’s “Use This Gospel (Remix)” featuring Kanye West and Eminem debuts at No. 1. This gives Em and Khaled their first leaders on that chart and Ye his fifth.

The “Use This Gospel” remix has multiple lines in which Em expresses his love for God, including, “Bible at my side like a rifle with a God-given gift / Every single day I thank God for / That’s why I pay so much homage / Praises to Jesus,” and, “So my Savior, I call on / To rescue me from these depths of despair / So these demons better step like a stair / Because He is my shepherd / I’m armed with Jesus, my weapon is prayer.”

So, while a lot of Eminem’s past material may not have been gospel-chart-worthy, his latest is, despite how odd that may read as a headline.

Kanye West Shares His Favorite Songs, Including The ‘Best Song In The History Of Music To Date’

Kanye West has been active on social media over the past few days, but today, instead of calling out Gap and Adidas, or sharing personal conversations between his ex-wife and her mother, he took some time to share some of his favorite songs.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper and producer has collaborated with several artists throughout his two-decade career, from up-and-comers to established heavy-hitters. Though he may be one of the most polarizing figures of our time, he certainly has a great ear when it comes to music.

Oh his Instagram today, he posted a screenshot of a music player playing “Church Girl” from Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance. He captioned the post, saying “Favorite song on Beyoncé album.”

In the next post, he shared the title track from DJ Khaled’s 13th album, God Did, which features Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and a four-minute verse from Jay-Z. In the post’s caption, he deemed the song, “Song of the year next to Wait For You,” presumably referring to Future and Drake’s collaboration, “Wait For U.”

In the following post, he shared “Essence” by Wizkid and Tems, which he deemed the “Best song in the history of music to date.”

Closing out the series of posts, he shared “Fortunate,” a collaboration with The Game from his most recent album, Drillmatic: Heart Vs. Mind.

“Need to shoot a video,” he said in the post’s caption. “Me [and] game have never missed like literally have never missed. Just like me and Pusha.”

Ye’s ear for music drives him toward perfection. In a recent interview, producer Mike Dean revealed West scrapped an album’s worth of material while working on Ye in 2018.

DJ Khaled And Jadakiss Embrace New York In Their ‘Jadakiss Interlude’ Video

Continuing to drop the accompanying visuals for the tracks from his 13th album, God Did, DJ Khaled and Jadakiss have shared the video for their collaboration, “Jadakiss Interlude.”

On the track, Jada reminds us that he’s New York royalty, delivering fiery bars over a soulful, James Brown-sampling instrumental. Jada finds himself in several landmarks and items symbolic of New York City throughout the song.

“I’m the bullet that struct your limbs / I’m white Air Force Ones, I’m construction Timbs / I’ma do whatever it takes, just enough to win / I’m the one that your man told you not to fuck with him /I’m the single-parent household with nothin’ in the ‘frigerator / Pissy staircases, smell like the incinerator / Grandma in the back hooked up to the ventilator / Tryna chip in and see if we can get some dinner later,” raps Jada.

In the video, Khaled and Jada are seen taking over Yonkers, from where Jada hails. Khaled is seen hyping Jada up as he spits rhymes in front of a food mart, and shoots dice in the street corners.

Earlier this week, Khaled also dropped videos for “Beautiful” with Future and SZA and “Big Time” with Future and Lil Baby.
