Blueface Reveals Exactly When He Will Be Home From Prison

Blueface has been dealing with some legal issues over these past few months. For instance, he was arrested back in January for violating his probation. Overall, there was this sense that Blue would be coming home in July. However, that has not been the case. Instead, he was recently sentenced to four years in prison. One would assume that this means he will only be home in 2027 or 2028. In a new interview, Blueface revealed that the timeline is a lot more optimistic.

The artist did an exclusive prison phone interview with DJ Hed and Gina Views on the show Effective Immediately. During the interview, Blueface gave some insight into his sentence and the specifics of it all. Essentially, he is getting time served. Moreover, he only has to serve about one-third of his entire sentence. Once he broke it down, it was revealed that he will actually be back home in less than a year.

Blueface Speaks Out

“So I got sentenced to four years. I got a year’s credit, so that goes down to three years, and I gotta do 33 percent of that … [so I’ll be home] probably like March, April [2025],” Blueface revealed. As for Chrisean Rock, she is currently facing drug charges, and there is no telling what will happen next in that case. If convicted, she could see up to eight years in prison. Needless to say, it has been a difficult time for that family.

Ab-Soul Has New Album Hyped By DJ Hed, Who Says It Has “Slaps”

Ab-Soul’s next album may be coming sooner than we thought. In an interview with Elliott Wilson, DJ Hed mentioned that he heard a couple of tracks from Soulo’s latest offering, calling them “slaps.” Hed is close to the TDE camp and was one of the few sources of reliable information for Kendrick Lamar’s side of the Drake battle, so him having heard new music from Ab-Soul is not surprising.

The Carson rapper released Herbert in 2022, six years removed from his last album, Do What Thou Wilt. Soulo has been very open about his mental health struggles. He revealed in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God that he attempted to end his own life earlier that year. Fortunately, he seems to be in a much better headspace now, thanks in part to the support of his peers and family.

Ab-Soul’s New Album Gets Hyped By DJ Hed

Fans immediately found themselves drawn to Herbert for its lyricism and brutal honesty. Both are trademarks of Ab-Soul’s releases. And he did not disappoint. Head of TDE Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith first shared plans for a new Soulo release during a Twitter Q&A in March of last year. He also claimed that a deluxe edition of Herbert was on the way, which is now sitting alongside a deluxe version of SZA’s SOS as albums that TDE promised and have not yet delivered on. So far this year, the TDE crew have been more active with new music. ScHoolboy Q received the lauded Blue Lips, SiR released HEAVY, and Isaiah Rashad announced a new album for this year.

We last saw DJ Hed and Ab-Soul at Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out concert. Hed had a set early in the evening, before coming back out at the end of the show for the group photo that capped off Lamar’s performance. Soulo was on stage during Lamar’s set for a Black Hippy reunion alongside ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock. Black Hippy did not perform any of the songs they did together. However, Lamar flawlessly rapped the first verse of his Drake diss “6:16 In LA” with his hand on Soulo’s shoulder, a signficant moment for longtime TDE fans. We don’t know when Ab-Soul’s next album is due, but DJ Hed confirmed that he’s been working on it. That is exciting news for any hip-hop enthusiast.

Kendrick Lamar’s New Album Could Arrive Soon, DJ Hed Speculates

It’s no secret that Kendrick Lamar is the center of attention following his viral feud with Drake, leaving fans eager to know what his next move will be. Rumors that he plans to drop a new album sometime soon have been floating around for months, and supporters have high hopes, particularly after some of his collaborators’ hints. Late last month, for example, Terrace Martin Tweeted that Kendrick is “locked in.” This left some followers convinced that a new project is in the works, though this has yet to be confirmed.

Now, DJ Hed has shared his predictions with Bootleg Kev during a recent interview, claiming that he wouldn’t be shocked if the rumors were true. He added that he can’t be sure, as he hasn’t been a part of any conversations about a new album. Either way, his revelation has fans excited to see what’s to come.

DJ Hed & Bootleg Kev Discuss Kendrick Lamar’s Next Move

“I guess so, I mean I don’t know you tell me,” DJ Hed said when asked if Kendrick plans to drop a new album soon. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we got something soon, but I don’t know. That’s not me, I don’t know for sure.” The album talk stopped there. It’s far from the first time fans have gotten hints that he could have something on the way, however.

In April of this year, Rory & Mal were discussing Kendrick’s response to Drake before it arrived, and Mal claimed that a “little bird” told him Kendrick was taking so long because he was saving it for his new album. What do you think of DJ Hed speculating that Kendrick Lamar could drop a new album sometime soon? Do you hope he’s right? Are you looking forward to hearing whatever it is Kendrick Lamar is working on at the moment? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out — Ken & Friends is the hottest ticket in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, June 19, to commemorate Juneteenth. Luckily, The Pop Out will be livestreamed on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch, so fans everywhere can follow whether Lamar debuts any one of his Drake diss tracks.

Here Are The Set Times For Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out — Ken & Friends Concert

On Tuesday, June 18, DJ Hed posted the lineup on X (formerly Twitter): DJ Hed & Friends (4 p.m. PT), Mustard & Friends (4:45 p.m. PT), and Ken & Friends (5:45 p.m. PT).

It remains to be seen who all of the friends will be joining DJ Hed, Mustard, and Lamar during their respective sets, but rap’s biggest names are presumably all possibilities — except for Drake, of course.

As of this writing, DJ Hed’s set is underway. TDE’s Ray Vaughn popped out to perform “Problems.” DJ Hed quipped, “They say the West Coast can’t rap? That’s crazy.” Then, he proceeded to welcome Cuzzos for a short stint on stage before Rucci and AzChike ran out to perform their collaborative track “Light It Up.” The revolving door of guest performers continued with Jay Worthy & Meet The Whoops, Wallie The Sensei, Westside Boogie, Zoe Osama, Kalan.FrFr & G Perico, Bino Rideaux, BlueBucksClan, RJMrLA, OhGeesy, Jason Martin, and Tommy The Clown.

Kendrick Lamar has kept rap fans fed since late March, when his feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” ignited a rap beef and diss track inferno (is that a phrase?) with Drake.

Peak excitement hit when Lamar, pgLang, and Free Lunch announced The Pop Out — Ken & Friends, a one-off concert at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Wednesday, June 19.

On Tuesday, June 18, DJ Hed posted the show’s lineup on X (formerly Twitter).

DJ Hed & Friends is scheduled to kick the show off at 4 p.m. PT, followed by Mustard & Friends at 4:45 p.m. PT and Lamar at 5:45 p.m. PT. It appears that the “& Friends” part of DJ Hed, Mustard, and Lamar’s respective sets will remain a surprise until show time.

Mustard, Sounwave, and Sean Momberger co-produced “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s ether of Drake that became his fourth-career No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Earlier Wednesday, June 19, Mustard shared five facts about “Not Like Us” with Billboard, including that he “did not sample” Nas’ “Ether.”

“I heard the song when everybody else heard it,” he said. “I never heard it before. I wasn’t in the studio with him. I had never heard that song.”

This concert will take place at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, and it sold out within seconds.

Having said all of that, fans haven’t been made aware of all of the performers. While it was noted that Mustard would be there, the other attendees were up in the air. DJ Hed Responds To Wiz Khalifa/Mike Danger/MC Tron Situation

Popular Los Angeles DJ and TMZ Hip Hop correspondent DJ Hed join legendary DJ Kid Capri in DJs voicing opinions on the recent Wiz Khalifa altercation last Saturday (July 28) at Los Angeles nightclub Poppy with DJ Mike Danger and MC Tron, where the rapper calls them “horrible DJs” and suggests that the words can escalate into a “fight” if they deserve.

“Never seen Wiz act like that before,” tweets DJ Hed on Twitter about the incident, which he is friends all parties involved. “I hope it’s an isolated incident. I am not nor will I ever support any artist/label blatantly and aggressively disrespecting DJ’s in my city, where we are homies or not.”

A video of the incident went viral that shows Wiz Khalifa verbally assaulting DJ Mike Danger and MC Tron for not playing music from his newly released album, Multiverse, out now, via Taylor Gang/Asylum. In the video, an outraged Wiz calls the two DJs: “horrible,” “suck,” and “If you wanna fight, we can do.”

MC Tron attempted to de-escalate the situation by extending his hand to hug the rapper, and was immediately rejected by Wiz, who went on to say: “Don’t hug me, b*tch. Ya’ll ni**as suck, play my new sh*t.”

Bootleg Kev, Real 92.3 radio personality and former co-host of DJ Hed, added context to the situation, stating that Wiz Khalifa was infuriated due to a series of mess ups during his performance, atop of his new album not being played.

Kev also took to Twitter to clarify the video, tweeting, “Let’s clear up this Wiz shit. I was there with him, & the dj & host TERRIBLE. After fucking up his performance (4-5x) he finally snapped. I’m not condoning him slapping the hat off or none of that, and I know he regrets that. But so much led up to that point. Context is IMPORTANT,” he wrote. “After they abruptly cut the first record off & had some weird echo effect shit going on he stopped and was NICE. In this video he’s saying ‘let’s get on the same page, y’all got too many cooks in the kitchen.”

Kev would then stick up for Mike Danger with the tweet: “Mike Danger is a good DJ and from what I hear a great guy, he had an off night. The HOST tho? Was so outta pocket it was flagrant. Reaching over his dj, turning down faders etc. overall shit show. THATS WHAT HAPPENED,” Kevi continued. “Context is Important. Yes wiz could have handled it differently but that’s a grown man, & it felt like he was being played or pranked it was so bad on the host/dj side. And the set list and files were sent ahead of the night starting too, so kill that fucking noise.”

Kid Capri, a hip hop legend who has DJ for several of the most iconic names in the culture, had other thoughts in mind after seeing the footage. He took to his Instagram on Monday (August 1) and shared his thoughts on the situation and what he would have done had it happened to him.

“When I met you, you was a cool dude, man,” says Capri. “That’s why I’m a little surprised why you would disrespect those DJs like that… stand up there and disrespect them like that, man, that was just crazy. Those kids is young dudes, probably, you know, scared and nervous that they playing for you, happy that they’re playing for you. I don’t know if you was lit or drunk, or whatever the case may be, but if that was me and you spoke to me like that, I’d have swung on you right away. Immediately,” the “Uptown” artist admitted. “And we would have dealt with it however we’d have to deal with afterwards. But I wouldn’t have went for that.”

Wiz has yet to comment on the situation nor respond to any DJs.

Wiz Khalifa’s new album Multiverse released last Friday (July 29), which features guest appearances by THEY. and Girl Talk. The album is his first solo studio album since 2018’s Rolling Papers 2.
