Biggie Wasn’t Killed In A Drive-By, Says Ex-Bodyguard

Diddy’s former bodyguard Gene Deal is sharing his side of the story about his days with the Bad Boy mogul. Deal recently sat down with The Art of Dialogue, and according to him, some Hip Hop History stories have strayed from the truth. In 1997, Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace was murdered in Los Angeles. Despite reports, Deal rejects claims that the rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting.

For decades, it has been stated that both Tupac Shakur and Biggie were victims of drive-by-related incidents. There have been theories about who was responsible for both murders, and while some have pinpointed suspects, no one has officially been charged. Deal also believes Biggie’s killer was lurking outside the Petersen Automotive Museum waiting for the rapper.

“It just hurts because they lie too much,” said Deal. “A lot of that sh*t be lies the way they put it together ’cause they listening to these white boys who wasn’t even there. I don’t want to make this racial, but they take these white boys who wasn’t even there and want to use the stories that they want to tell, which is not the truth.” He also added: “Wasn’t no drive-by. The car was standing there at the corner. The stories they tell is not truthful. And now people are sitting here believing.”

The former bodyguard said he quickly made his way to Biggie’s side to help in any way he could. “Every Biggie movie that you see, they say it’s a drive-by,” Deal continued. “When the witness tells you the car was stood right there at the corner…the car was probably there all night.” Further, “I saw this kid lose his life. This kid died while I was pulling him out of the car,” he said. “I wouldn’t put nobody in my shoes ’cause I don’t feel like they could handle it. If I didn’t have God in my life, if I didn’t have people praying for me, I don’t know if I could have handled it.”

Deal also said he “knew that somebody was going to die that night.” He had a feeling someone “was going to get shot,” and he did “everything in” his power to protect Diddy. “The people that was bodyguarding Big didn’t do everything in their power to stop it from being Big. And that hurts me, even though it wasn’t my principle. Every time you hear his music, every time you see one of these murals on the wall, now they got statues. It’s gon’ hurt until God takes me away from here.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

Sean “Diddy” Combs announces the rebranding of his parent company from Combs Enterprises to Combs Global after three decades of business success across his well-known brands and a historic last year that included a landmark acquisition of becoming the largest minority-owned, vertically integrated multi-state operator in the Cannabis industry.

With this news, his illustrious portfolio of companies—which has long symbolized power in music, entertainment, fashion, spirits, and media/television—expands worldwide. When Combs Global was established in 2013, its initial partners were Sean John, Capital Preparatory Charter Schools, Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Spirits (Cîroc Vodka, DeLeón Tequila), AQUAhydrate, REVOLT MEDIA, and The Sean Combs Foundation. Since then, it has grown to encompass more company divisions and endeavors, including Empower Global, formerly Shop Circulate, Our Fair Share, Love Records, and a foray into the cannabis industry. Combs Global has a clear vision as it begins a new chapter and doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

“Combs Global represents the next chapter in my journey as a business leader and a bigger vision to build the largest portfolio of leading Black-owned brands in the world,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs. “I’ve enlisted world-class teams of top executives, specialists and strategic partners to bring this new dream to life and put us in the best position to keep making history while leading another 30 years of dominance across industries.”

Combs added to his global portfolio this past year with the acquisition of The Nile List, a $2 million investment in the creator platform REC Philly, and a record $185 million purchase of critical markets and assets from the top cannabis company CRESCO Labs. Combs has added sites for his elite Capital Preparatory charter schools, which now include locations in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Bronx, New York. Combs announced the opening of Love Records, an all-R&B record label, in his much-anticipated return to the music industry. This new music imprint expands on the famous history of Bad Boy Entertainment.

A brand-new era for the business began with the introduction of Combs Global, which completely rebranded the website, social media platforms, and brand communications. The new visual identity was announced in conjunction with ambitions to expand the company and its business units internationally. Combs Global will achieve some amazing milestones in 2023. Combs will continue to set the bar as one of the most prosperous and creative businesspeople of all time with the 30th anniversary of Bad Boy Entertainment, the 15th anniversary of his association with Diageo, and the 10th anniversary of REVOLT.

The new logo, which serves as a reminder of Combs’ unparalleled accomplishment as a hitmaker, debuted in the wildly popular Uber One Super Bowl commercial featuring Combs. Combs is a master marketer who takes advantage of the opportunity to unveil the new company name and logo and incorporate his tequila and vodka brands, Cîroc and DeLeón, into the advertisement. The entire commercial and NCAA men’s basketball both made their debuts last week after being previewed at the Grammys Pro Bowl. You can see the commercial below.

Diddy Wishes His “Shawty Wop” Yung Miami A Happy Birthday While She Poses In A Bikini On The Beach

On February 11th, Yung Miami celebrated her 29th trip around the Sun. The “Twerkulator” artist is an expert at turning up. We’ve previously seen this throughout her career, and this year, her birthday celebrations have been non-stop. After partying with her friends, it now looks as though the mother of two is in baecation mode, soaking up the sun in the tropics with a certain friend.

Over the weekend, the City Girl shared an Instagram photo dump that finds her posing alongside a private jet in an emerald green two-piece set. After a few more fit pics, fans see a preview of the aircraft’s inside. It’s glamorously decorated with roses, balloons, a cake, and various other sweets. Miami also let the world know whose plane it is that she’s taking – in case they weren’t already aware – by flexing the Combs Air mat sitting beneath the plane’s stairs.

Caresha’s caption was nothing more than a row of birthday cake emojis. Still, in the comment section, her friends have had plenty to say. “Caresha! You love that man. You ain’t let us come and you got braids!” her partner in rhyme, JT, wrote. Elsewhere, Saweetie, Savannah James, Princess Love, Cuban Link, and more wished the rap diva a happy birthday.

It wouldn’t be a baecation without plenty of photos, and Miami has absolutely been delivering. The day after flaunting Diddy’s private jet and the goods he spoils her with on the ‘gram, she returned with some beautiful beach pictures and videos that see her sitting in the sand by the crystal blue water. Clearly in full party mode, the podcast host carries a mimosa in her hand as she casually strolls into the tropical ocean.

In the comment section of that post, the multi-talent made sure to send his “Shawty Wop” birthday greetings. Additionally, JT had more love to show her collaborator. India Royale and Trina were sure to shower the Florida native with plenty of attention too.

Miami is obviously going all out for her birthday celebrations this year. Prior to her baecation with Combs, she threw a star-studded party earlier this month. Chrisean Rock was notably in attendance, as were various other well-known figures from the music industry.

Aside from the impressive guest list, fans also can’t stop talking about the massive diamond ring on her finger. Of course, she’s made it well known that she’s single, but clearly still loves to be spoiled on Diddy’s dime. Check out Caresha’s flashy new jewelry here, and tune in later for more pop culture news updates.

Diddy’s Super Bowl Commercial Featuring Kelis Is A Hilarious Search For UberEats New Catchy Jingle

So far, the Super Bowl LVII commercials featuring musicians have been centered around music. Cardi B and her husband Offset’s McDonald’s commercial was all about their forthcoming couple’s meal at the chain. While Jennifer Lopez and her husband Ben Affleck, put their love of coffee and donuts on full display in their Dunkin’ Donuts commercial.

However, music mogul, Diddy wanted to remind everyone just how he became a mogul in his appearance in Uber Eats’ latest commercial. As part of the company’s campaign to push its Uber One membership, the former A&R is seeking out the perfect jingle to do so.

During the commercial, several musicians at the helm of the millennium’s most catchy tracks audition. Singer-turned-minister Montell Jordan appears rapping his 1995 single “This is How We Do It.” Singer-turned-farmer Kelis sings a remixed version of her 2003’s song “Milkshake.” Donna Lewis, who had a hand in the 1996 hit “I Love You Always Forever,” “What is Love” singer Haddaway and duo Ylvis behind the 2013 song “What Does the Fox Say” all appear.

Before the commercial aired, Diddy couldn’t hold back his excitement, tweeting, “Proud to be starring in my second #SuperBowl commercial! Watch it tonight during the 2nd quarter!”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

To which Uber Eat’s official Twitter account replied, writing, “2nd quarter’s where it’s AT 😎🔥

Diddy Responds After Fans Think He Threw Shade At Burna Boy

Diddy cleared the air on Tuesday after sharing a mysterious message that many believed was directed toward Burna Boy. The Bad Boy founder shared appeared to throw shade at an unnamed artist following the Grammys, who he claimed he helped with their first Grammy. “I helped you win your first and only Grammy award which I did out of kindness, and somehow you thought you could win another without my help ?? Oh okay..,” he wrote.

The reason people believed this was directed at Burna Boy was due to the Nigerian singer’s nomination in the Best Global Album category at the Grammys. His latest album, Love, Damini, secured the nod, though it lost to Masa Takumi’s Sakura. Burna’s already earned six nominations in the past few years while only winning once for Twice As Tall, executive produced by Diddy. The 2020 album won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album. Needless to say, fans put the pieces together and suggested that Diddy felt some way about the “Last Last” artist.”

As the internet shared their thoughts, Diddy finally responded to the backlash. Though the screenshot of his Instagram post circulated online, he suggested that it may have been a photoshop job. “This is fake,” he wrote in the comment section. Still, many called him out as they claimed they saw it on his own Instagram Story.

Throughout his career, Diddy earned 13 nominations at the Grammys while winning three awards. Diddy won his first pair of Grammys in 1998. “I’ll Be Missing You” alongside Faith Evans and 112 won Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group. That same evening, Diddy took home the Best Rap Album award for Puff Daddy and The Family’s No Way Out

Perhaps, Diddy’s striving towards winning a fourth Grammy next year. Last year, Puffy announced his R&B-focused label, Love Records, through which he’ll release his forthcoming album. He previously released “Gotta Move On” ft. Bryson Tiller to launch the campaign for the project. Then, he teamed up with OVO’s PartyNextDoor for “Sex In The Porsche.” Though he hasn’t shared a release date for the project yet, it’s possible the project sees a summer release date. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding the upcoming R&B album.

Diddy’s Daughter Love Combs Enjoys A Baby Massage

When you’re the child of a superstar like Sean “Diddy” Combs, you’re afforded luxuries that only a few can buy. The world was shocked with Diddy shared that he welcomed another child into the world. Quickly, internet sleuths deduced that the mother was a woman named Dana Tran, and since that time, the media mogul has been sharing small bits of his time with his baby girl, Love.

On Instagram, Diddy shared an adorable video of his youngest, and it looked as if she was with her mother. “I’m at the chiropractor,” the woman said in the clip. Love was getting some special treatment as the physician worked on her lower back, but it didn’t seem to bother her any.

The Bad Boy icon has six biological children and one that he has adopted as his own. Quincy Brown is the biological son of Al B. Sure and Kim Porter, while Diddy and Misa Hylton share Justin. Puff and Kim also have three children: Christian, D’Lila, and Jessie James. He shares Chance with Sarah Chapman, and last but not least is Baby Love.

Meanwhile, the public used Love to target Yung Miami. The City Girls star has been dating Diddy for some time, and they’ve flaunted their relationship for the world to see. Diddy’s Bodyguard Informs People That He ‘Don’t Do Jingles’ In A Hilarious Uber Pre-Super Bowl Ad

Ahead of the Super Bowl next month, Uber Eats unleashed their new ad for their ‘Uber One’ membership.

Three people attempt to pitch Diddy an ad, but appear to be unsuccessful. The camera cuts back to the media mogul wearing sunglasses and a stern expression before his bodyguard hilariously notes that “Diddy don’t do jingles.”

“No, of course not, it’s not a jingle,” the woman replies.

“It’s one song for Uber One,” another man adds off-screen.

The bodyguard repeats the sentiment again. “Diddy. Don’t. Do. Jingles.

“Right. Of course. Diddy doesn’t do jingles,” she says again. “We just want a hit though.”

Thankfully, his bodyguard notes, “Diddy does do hits.”

“We’ll take a hit,” she responds.

Diddy finally cracks a big smile, showing off his pearly teeth. “Diddy is excited,” the guard points out in a deadpan voice.

The rapper then accepts a call, where he instructs the person on the other end to “meet me at the studio.” If there is an actual song in the works, we’d love to hear how Diddy’s non-jingle (totally not) works out.

“Watch Diddy not do a jingle,” the text reads with the date of the football game.

The timing of this ad and the look on Diddy’s face the entire time is truly the best part of this. It’s something you just have to see to understand. Watch Diddy’s Uber One ad above.

Mary J. Blige Admits To Being “Afraid Of Success” Until She Met Diddy

Not everyone who has a career spanning decades can continue to mount success, but not everyone is Mary J. Blige. The Queen of Hip Hop-Soul amassed six Grammy nominations this year thanks to her successful Good Morning Gorgeous release. Her impact on music history is undeniable, and in a feature for PEOPLE, Blige and Sean “Diddy” Combs talks about her growth as an artist and woman.

Blige and Diddy have been good friends from the inception of their careers. He produced her first two albums and has been by her side through each trial and triumph. “Mary J. Blige is one of the greatest storytellers in R&B history,” he said. “She created a lane for women around the world to speak their truth to power, so nobody deserves this success more than her.”

The singer echoed a similar sentiment when speaking about Combs.

“Puff was a huge inspiration for me,” she recalls. “He wanted all of this for me more than I wanted it myself.”

Diddy added, “More than being my sister and my best friend, she will forever be a pioneer and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, who remains an unstoppable force that can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.”

Blige also contributes her drive for success to her friend. She said when she started, she was “afraid of success,” but Diddy was ambitious. Blige shied away from the attention that fame brought.

“When you come from where I come from, you’re scared to be ambitious,” she added. “You’re scared to want more. And then when I met him, he was the complete opposite. He was such a good thing for me because I needed what he had, to be excited to be seen, to have the lights on him. But it took some years to grow into that.”
