T.I.’s Daughter Heiress Drops Cover Of Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up”

Some things, like musical talent, just seem to run in the family. T.I.’s daughter Heiress Harris just dropped a cover of Rihanna’s track for the Wakanda Forever soundtrack, “Lift Me Up.” Also, the cover came with a music video attached where the the six-year-old walks on the beach facing a beautiful sunset. In fact, her parents showed up in The Shade Room’s Instagram post to hype their third child together up. Moreover, the Atlanta trap pioneer put a heart-eyes emoji in the comments, keeping it simple and sweet. Meanwhile, Heiress’s mother Tiny commented “Thank you guys” with heart-eyes and heart-hands emojis.

Furthermore, Heiress’s high pitch comes through passionately in the adorable video. “Safe and sound,” she sings, “Drowning in an endless sea / Take some time and stay with me.” While we doubt Heiress is at the angst level of feeling like drowning, the emotion of the song still shines. After all, the gorgeous pianos would make even a health insurance commercial script sound magical. Still, people loved it in the comments, and even told other to never speak poorly of a kid trying hard. Of course, this isn’t the first time that the celebrity daughter made headlines for her burgeoning creativity. A couple of years ago, she turned heads with her take on Megan Thee Stallion’s #SavageChallenge.

Meanwhile, Heiress’s dad Tip recently participated in some enlightening interviews that brought interesting conversations. As one of the legends in Southern hip-hop, his experience and connection to waves both old and current is indelible. For example, he recently made various comments about his Atlanta colleague Young Thug. In a conversation on Drink Champs, he stated that Thugger is one of the most appreciative and grateful artists he’s crossed paths with. To emphasize, he compared his thankful mindset to how his YSL crew is taking plea deals and abandoning him in many’s eyes.

Also, he elaborated on Thug appreciating T.I.’s role in his come-up when talking to Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. Moreover, he said that Thug is one of many artists who sought help from him as he grew a profile. Instead of giving him some cash only to demand it back once he made it big, T.I. supported Young Thug’s capacity to go big. Overall, a little motivation and a good mentor with your best interests in mind go a long way. In fact, maybe the “Live Your Life” star will help his daughter’s music career in the same way, because the talent’s there. As always, come back to HNHH for the latest on T.I., Tiny, and the talent of hip-hop’s descendants.

Summer Walker Covers “Santa Baby” Just In Time For Christmas

With less than a week until Christmas has come and gone for another year, there’s little time for you to finish all the festive holiday prep that comes with December. Luckily, R&B artists in particular have been generously sharing new songs for your listening pleasure while you shop, bake, and decorate away.

Chris Brown, Ari Lennox, and Sevyn Streeter are among those who have given us covers and originals so far. Now, it’s Summer Walker’s turn to shine with her take on “Santa Baby.”

The song first made its debut earlier this month on LVRN’s Home For The Holidays 2 compilation album. Baby Tate, Alex Vaughn, dvsn, Eli Derby, and DRAM are among other artists who contributed.

Additionally, we hear Walker’s voice once more on the project. She and 6LACK came together to create a “Ghetto Christmas” song. In the time since arriving, it’s earned over 1.5M streams on Spotify alone.

On Monday (December 19), the Atlanta native and her label shared the “Santa Baby” music video. In it, the Still Over It songstress sits in a cozy room with lit trees and fake snow surrounding her.

“Santa baby, just slip a Sable under the tree for me / Been an awful good girl / Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight,” Walker’s voice rings out on the first verse.

While the “No Love” artist’s fans are certainly revelling in the Christmas cheer she’s brought them, she has some celebrating of her own to do. According to recent reports, the 26-year-old is due to give birth to twins any day now.

Quotable Lyrics:

Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be just as good
If you’ll check off my Christmas list

Get In The Holiday Spirit With Sevyn Streeter’s Cover Of “The Christmas Song”

We’re nearly halfway through December, which means Christmas is officially less than two weeks away. While you’re busy preparing for the holidays by setting up your tree, baking cookies, shopping and wrapping presents, your favourite artists have been covering some festive classics for you to stream.

The latest starlet to help spread the holiday cheer is none other than Sevyn Streeter. For her part, she’s offering up a beautiful rendition of “The Christmas Song,” complete with production from Eric Hudson.

In the accompanying music video, the 36-year-old sings in front of a grand piano. While Lonny Berreal plays, she shines in a sultry white dress.

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire / Jack Frost nipping at your nose,” her voice rings out over the first few bars. “Yuletide carols being sung by a choir / And folks dressed up like Eskimos.”

As Vibe notes, this is the first we’ve heard from Streeter since she previously shared “23” back in September. Prior to that, she worked with DIXSON on “CHERRY SORBET.”

Elsewhere this year, the Florida native gave us the deluxe cut of her Drunk Wordz Sober Thoughtz album. Throughout the 20-song tracklist, she connects with artists like Lavi$h, Lucky Daye, Jeremih, and BIA.

Some of the project’s most successful titles include “Guilty” with Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg, as well as “End Up.”

Even after a busy year, rumour has it that the “It Won’t Stop” hitmaker is preparing a new album for arrival in 2023.

Quotable Lyrics:

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it’s been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you
