AI Biggie Covers Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind,” Twitter Is Divided

Some of our favourite artists have already dropped off noteworthy new music in 2023. Unfortunately, their releases as of late are chiefly being overshadowed by the songs coming out via artificial intelligence. From hearing Kanye West take on Hit-Boy’s “2 Certified” thanks to technology to heavy hitters like Drake and Michael Jackson covering Ice Spice’s “Munch (Feelin’ U),” the entertainment has been endless, albeit damaging to the music industry. Earlier this week, a video of the late Biggie Smalls rapping Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind” began circulating online, sparking plenty of debate amongst the hip-hop community,

The 1994 cut previously arrived on the New Yorker’s Illmatic album and remains one of the most popular in his discography to this day. Of course, The Notorious B.I.G. lost his life just three years after this, and though he and Nas had plans to collaborate (the latter previously revealed on The Breakfast Club that he “got too high” in the studio for anything to come to fruition), it ultimately never came to be. This is the closest we’ll probably ever to see to a joint effort, and while some users are loving Biggie’s flow on his friend’s song, others are frustrated with AI’s presence in the industry at the moment.

Biggie’s Unofficial “N.Y. State of Mind” Cover

“This made me realize Nas has the greatest flow of any rapper ever,” one Twitter user said, markedly praising the 49-year-old. Another, less pleased listener chimed in, “The gap between Biggie’s flow and Nas’ flow is f*cking me up right now. This sounds so much worse than his voice on his flow lol. Too much energy with the wrong tone.” Elsewhere, someone argued that the computer-generated audio fails to “capture Big’s essence one bit.”

Apart from the comedic, discourse-causing covers, we’ve also heard brand new lyrics written and beats crafted for Champagne Papi, The Weeknd, and more, rivalling some of their previous releases in the hearts of fans. In wake of this, music labels are beginning to take action in defence of their artists to protect their work and vocals. In doing so, she confirmed that she and the Bad Boy mogul have broken up. “We’re still friends! We’re still good friends!” she said. “But we’re single. That’s not my man. We had our own situation. I’m not gonna put a title on it. We were fucking with each other hard. We were together every day at one point. He supported me, I supported him. I’ll let the internet call it whatever they want to call it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Miami also confirmed that she’s working on a new album. “Girl, I ain’t even gonna tell! I don’t know, like it is coming, and it will be sometime this summer for real, for real, for real. Logic Addresses Backlash To Ice Cube Cover: “Who Gives A F*ck”

Logic has addressed the recent backlash to his viral cover of Ice Cube’s 1992 hit single “It Was A Good Day.” The rapper spoke about the negative reaction in response to a fan on TikTok, who asked him to make an entire album featuring covers of songs from the 1990s. In the TikTok, Logic revealed that he got support from Ice Cube himself afterward.

“You know it’s funny you should say that,” Logic said in the post. “Um, it’s funny you should say that because I thought about doing that. Wouldn’t that be cool? Everybody’s all pissed off at me because I did a fucking Ice Cube cover. Meanwhile I texted Ice Cube and he’s like, ‘Man, keep on doing you brotha,’ like what the… who gives a fuck. Who gives a fuck.”

He added: “But you know what would be great? Is if, you’re right. I should do a whole fucking album, and just do a whole album of fucking hard ass 90s records and call it Logic Greatest Hits, and get all them paid, and publishing, and take care of all the legends and the goat’s and the great’s from the 90s. And fucking do a covers album, who gives a fuck.. whaaat.”

As for the hate Logic received, many were unhappy with the heavy use of guitars in his version. One of the most prominent voices to complain about the cover was Joe Budden. Speaking on his podcast, Budden called on Logic to retire from music after hearing the song. “Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you: please join me in retirement,” he said. “Never step near a recording device again! Throw your phone in the ocean! Be allergic to microphones! Promise your fans nothing! Don’t go to the studio ever again! You are the worst, yo! You are really, really bad!” Check out Logic’s comments about the situation on TikTok below.

Christina Ricci Says She Regrets Posing In Lingerie For Rolling Stone Cover

Christina Ricci says that she regrets posing in lingerie for the iconic 1999 cover of Rolling Stone. The actress was only 19 years old at the time of the photo shoot and had just starred in Vincent Gallo’s Buffalo ’66 and Don Roos’ The Opposite of Sex. Ricci reflected on the cover story during a new interview with Rolling Stone published last Wednesday.

“It’s not how I would have chosen to be dressed, but it’s very much of its time. Not great,” she said of the cover. She also admitted to being “a bit of a d***head” at the time and added: “I could have handled it in a way that was less teenage.”

Ricci also admitted that, to this day, she finds herself “starting to feel a little bit more devil-may-care about the things I say. And that’s not good for me. I always go too far. I never realize how awful a thing I’m saying is until someone else is like, ‘What the f***?’” She added that the non-stop press cycle for TV shows is far more draining than the breaks offered in movies. Ricci recently appeared in Netflix’s Wednesday, based on The Addams Family character she previously played in the 1991 film and its 1993 sequel.

Ricci also had a lot to say about her physical appearance. She explained that when she was younger, “the second you looked like a teenager, you had to quit. I got very lucky, because [I] coincided with independent films wanting to cast actual teenagers to play teenagers.” She added: “The amount of years spent obsessed with trying to make sure nobody could criticize you for your appearance… I really have embraced this body-positivity thing. It’s such a f***ing relief to know that nobody’s allowed to call you fat. [When] people complain about things like that, I’m always like, ‘Haven’t you heard? We don’t have to worry about that anymore!’”

Gisele Bündchen Looks Unrecognizable In Vogue Cover Feature

Gisele Bündchen just put on a stunning new look for her latest Vogue cover feature, her first since her divorce from Tom Brady. Moreover, she showed off her hair, painted a deep shade of red, and wore some subtle but eye-catching makeup. Furthermore, she tied it all together with a sheer red dress, and all those elements render her unrecognizable. Her look is all Maison Valentino with matching red nails, Kenneth Jay Lane earrings and Patricia von Musulin bracelets. Overall, her cover (which releases on February 28) stuck to “daring” as a theme, as more snaps from the magazine show some more crazy looks.

In addition to her literal cover image, the 42-year-old posed in a Saint Laurent lambskin jacket and a body-hugging viscose dress. Also, she made sure to accessorize in style with silver earrings and bracelets, both from Patricia Von Musulin as well. Other looks she pulled off were a Dolce & Gabbana silk veil dress, a Givenchy lace bra, a satin trench coat, and an Off-White sleeveless dress. While she harkened back to some classic looks and the usual glamour, most of her offerings in the magazine remained unorthodox.

Gisele’s Vogue Cover

Meanwhile, this is Bündchen’s first Vogue cover since her divorce from Tom Brady finalized. The former NFL quarterback, 45, officially divorced after 13 years of marriage in October of last year. Furthermore, official paperwork of the proceedings obtained by People indicate that they declared the marriage to be “irretrievably broken.” Moreover, the former New England Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneer spoke on the split via Instagram.

“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage,” he wrote. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for so many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written.” For her part, Gisele commented on his post with some words of her own. “Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” she commented, adding a prayer-hands emoji. Regardless of your take on them, log back into HNHH for the latest on Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady.
