Logic Emotionally Confronts His Father For Massive $850K Home Request

More money, more problems is a very resonant statement when you really analyze it. No matter where you are on the socioeconomic scale, different issues will come with it. With Logic being in the top percentile of earners, he has to deal with providing for others and making correct big business decisions. This is something that the Maryland MC has spoken about quite frequently. He has been a pretty open book about his rough upbringing in a crowded household. Logic’s father, Sir Robert Bryson Hall, has especially been a sensitive topic. Their relationship has been rocky, to say the least.

Logic has talked about his father asking him to fork over massive amounts of money in interviews with numerous publications. He even brought his dad onstage during a tour performance to officially sign him to Bobby Boy Records, to financially take care of him. Which is why this latest sit-down with his caretaker is not too surprising.

Logic Gets Real With His Father

The veteran lyricist got quite passionate with his dad about the time he once asked his son to give him $850,000 for a house. His dad is/was in a band and wanted a place where they could record music together. Logic told his father that he did not want to do it because he did not want to see him waste it. But all these issues Logic had extended beyond his dad. Because of how many siblings he has, he has been fed up with seeing them waste the funds he has handed out to them. Hence why his father never received crazy amounts. But, Logic still has a lot of love for his pops, making that clear throughout the clip above. It sounds like Logic never really got to have this sort of conversation with him before. Hopefully, things can smooth themselves out, and their relationship can be stronger than it has been.

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Last Conversation With Her Late Father, Robert Maraj

Nicki Minaj recently spoke to Ebro Darden on Apple Music about her new album Pink Friday 2, hip-hop’s current state, and a whole lot more. While she’s very much enjoying herself these days and enjoying the success of her project, this sit-down also called for some reflection. For example, the Trinidadian MC eventually expressed some thoughts and remarks about her late father Robert Maraj, who tragically passed away following a hit-and-run in 2021. Specifically, she recalled their last conversation, which was just hours before his death. It’s quite the emotive moment to witness, and one we hope will allow the 41-year-old to continue to heal and honor her dad.

“One day, I was rocking the baby in the rocking chair in his room,” Nicki Minaj shared. “I do not normally even have the phone on me when I’m rocking him. Because at that time, I was mad strict… But anyway, that day, as I’m rocking him, the phone rings. I look down, I see it’s my father, I normally would not have picked up, I promise you. I would’ve said, ‘OK,’ because I don’t like to be on the phone with the baby there. But something said, ‘Pick up the phone.’

“And then we went to bed and sometime late while we were all asleep, the phone rang,” she concluded. “It was my mother telling me that my father was in an accident and that she didn’t know what was gonna happen and she would call me back. Fortunately, its leading MC Treach recently appeared on Drink Champs to provide some of this context and history. Moreover, he told N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and the rest of the crew about his career history, his influence in the game, and his many collabs and friendships across the East and West Coasts, whether it’s with Biggie Smalls or with Tupac. Of course, they also had time to address wild tour stories, aliens, and other fun topics.

Even though he might not be the biggest household name these days, the New Jersey native holds a lot of respect within hip-hop. Whether it’s through his work with other legends or his presence and knowledge in the culture, he has quite the impressive resumé. Sure, there are also the parts of this story that fall more into the gossip side of things, especially with recent revelations. For example, Will Smith was scared to go on a date with Pepa because she and Treach were on a break at the time. Needless to say, the actor didn’t really want that smoke with him, both out of respect and fear for his life.

J. Cole and Lil Yachty had a great time together on the latter’s A Safe Place podcast, and had a lot of interesting discussions and debates. Two of these speak to the current state of hip-hop, and how the two different but kindred spirits view their place in it all and where it’s headed. Moreover, one of these is the purely artistic expression in the genre, and how industry dynamics and the culture are shifting. Another relates to rap’s commercial dominance, particularly in first-week sales. They had a lot to say as two leaders in styles that, although different, can always co-exist. “Do you think rap was in a better space when it was more gangster rap, or is it in a healthier place now with hyperpop and ‘mumble rap’ being so prevalent?” Lil Yachty asked J. Cole.

“What’s you honest opinion on the new generation? What’s missing?” he asked. “I can’t say it was in a better space because that’s my favorite,” J. Cole replied. “Bro, I’m a person that I try my best to accept- like you said earlier- accept it for what it is. My favorite era is what I grew up on. I can’t put nothing past how I feel and how I felt outside of my own… you know what I mean? I try to push myself to that, but bro, I’m grown, I was listening to that when I was a kid. Now it’s new kids that got their new favorites. I wouldn’t feel comfortable being like, ‘Hell yeah, that s**t was in a better space!’ Because I don’t feel negatively about this space. I feel like this space is clearing the way for the next space, and the next space.

“You weren’t there for graduations, you weren’t there for dances, for prom,” Ari Fletcher continued. “I feel like it’s completely missing out on my life.” To explain this, her father said that he was “chasing happiness” for himself at this time, and got too “caught up” in that process. Afterwards, the Chicago native asked her father if he “feels okay now,” which he said is not the case. In addition, she remarked that she’s “off child support” and should “take a shot to that,” and it’s unclear exactly what she meant.

“That’s bulls**t,” the 28-year-old expressed in a post-conversation recording. “I feel like coming here and getting his side and hearing his truth just kind of like a letdown for me.” Her father said that, since he sees her doing well in her endeavors on social media, he sees that she’s “doing alright” despite the lack of communication. Moreover, he recently shared one of these, which he believes was the worst, to Dave East on HipHopWired’s I Got Questions series. The two New York lyricists spoke on a variety of topics too, ranging from their respective career trajectories and their experiences on the road, which led to this story. Furthermore, Jada explained that this happened during The LOX’s first European tour. To sum his tale up with the moral of the story: when you’re traveling for a long time, always pack extra underwear.

“It was probably our first European tour, late ’90s in London and I ran out of underwear,” Jadakiss told Dave East. “One of my homies from my block here lived in London too. So I’m like, ‘Yo Nerf, I need some boxers for the show. He’s like, ‘Don’t worry I got you.’ We looking and there’s nothing, though. I had a pair of Speedos. I had the worst s**ts ever. It was my worst show ever in life. I felt horrible. These s**ts- there wasn’t even boxer briefs. They was boy shorts- the KD, London Euro joints. No matter what happens, overpack underwear.”

Hopefully this didn’t happen to the Yonkers MC again, but it’s a small blemish in an illustrious path full of amazing performances. Whether it’s his standout Verzuz appearance, festivals, or just his raw commitment to the art of live hip-hop and freestyling, Jadakiss is always on point on stage. It’s no surprise, then, that for his place in the rap game, the newer generation holds a lot of respect and admiration for him. For example, during a July interview with EBONY, Metro Boomin named the 28-year-old among his dream collabs.

“I have this long list written out of all the people I would love working with,” the star producer remarked. “Working with Nas on Spider-Verse was the first time I got to do something with him. Artificial intelligence technology in music is all the rage these days, whether for the hype or how much it literally enrages people. Regardless, Snoop Dogg’s already thrown his two cents on the matter, calling its development in music “outta hand” after sharing an A.I. Michael Jackson cover of C-Murder’s “Down For My N***az.” However, this tech is blowing the West Coast legend’s mind no matter what industry it finds itself in. Recently, Snoop went to the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, where A.I. and other similar topics took center stage. During his talk, he spoke on talking to an A.I. model like it was nothing, and how that shocked him.

“I got a motherf***in’ A.I. right now,” Snoop Dogg began. “They done made [it] for me, this n***a can talk to me. Like, me and this n***a can hold a real conversation, like for real for real. It’s blowing my mind because I watched movies on this as a kid years ago when I used to see this s**t. I’m like, ‘What is going on?‘

“Then I heard that the old dude that created A.I. said ‘This is not safe because the A.I.’s got their own minds and these motherf***ers gon’ start doing their own s**t!’” the 51-year-old continued. “I’m like, ‘Is we in a f***in’ movie right now or what?!’ The f**k, man? Do I need to invest in an A.I. so I can have one with me? Do y’all know, s**t, what the f**k?” Not only that, but Snoop Dogg also commented on the possibility of a collaborative A.I. project between Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. While he didn’t dismiss the idea of pulling old vocal tracks together for something like that, he wasn’t too keen on their voices being computer-generated.

Lil Pump Reveals Conversation With J. Cole: “You’re Actually Smart”

One of new-age hip-hop’s most interesting spats continues to develop itself into a respectful relationship in the public eye. Moreover, Lil Pump recently sat down with Complex for an interview, during which he detailed an interesting conversation with J. Cole. Between the Miami MC teasing a song whose chorus was “F**k J. Cole” and the Dreamville boss seemingly talking down on him on his album KOD, these two have some history together. However, that history is equally marked by their reconciliations. They spoke in a lengthy YouTube video together, bridging their artistic styles, and now Pump is back to talk about their link-ups.

“I don’t have no hate against him, I respect him, I was just trolling at the time,” Lil Pump remarked about his tussles with J. Cole on wax and public statements. “I met him, we had a long talk at Rolling Loud. We were talking for like a whole hour, just chopping it up. And he was like, ‘Damn, you’re actually smart! I thought you were gonna be fried out walking over here, falling, drugged out.’ And I was just having a regular conversation with him, just like we are now, and he was like, ‘Yo, you’re a smart kid. You just play dumb on the internet, but you know what you’re doing.’”

Lil Pump Gets Respect From J. Cole

While many might see it as slightly condescending, it’s heartening to see Lil Pump take it in stride. The 22-year-old was presumably the subject of Cole’s “1985 (Intro to ‘The Fall Off’)” on his aforementioned 2018 album. “One day, them kids that’s listening gon’ grow up,” he rapped on the track. “And get too old for that s**t that made you blow up. Now your show’s lookin’ light cause they don’t show up, which unfortunately means the money slow up. Just remember what I told you when your s**t flop. In five years you gon’ be on ‘Love & Hip-Hop,’ n***a.”

To his credit, the “D Rose” rapper hasn’t appeared on any reality shows yet. In fact, he just dropped his tape Lil Pump 2 earlier this year, which contains much of his usual musical fare plus a few experimentations. Whether it’s for his trolling or for his divisive music, he’s still in the conversation for many fans. Also, this just goes to show that people can say what they want online, but respect from a fellow student of the game can go a long way. Of course, they were primarily shocked to see RiRi, who surprised them on Wednesday (March 22) at a Bristol Farms store in L.A.

One fan in particular, Kenyan-born content creator Stacey Roimen, shared her wonderful experience on social media and got a lot of attention. “My God I don’t even know where to start… I met RIHANNA today,” she wrote on Instagram. “I had such a genuine long conversation with her; I almost forgot to take a photo, I can’t wait to interview you @badgalriri one of these days.
