Central Cee, the UK rap powerhouse, has revealed his debut album, Can’t Rush Greatness, slated for release on January 24, 2025. Following the global success of his mixtapes Wild West and 23, and hit singles like “Doja” and “Obsessed With You,” this album marks a major milestone in Cench’s rise to stardom. The project, recorded across multiple international locations, features production from top talents, including his frequent collaborator, Dave.

In tandem with the album announcement, Central Cee debuted on COLORS, performing his latest single, “One by One.” Although this track won’t appear on Can’t Rush Greatness, it encapsulates the album’s core theme of persistence. Performing against a rose-gold backdrop—a symbol used throughout his work this year—Central Cee reflects on the dedication behind his success with lines like, “Can’t rush greatness, you gotta take your time, maintain it slowly.”

With Can’t Rush Greatness, Central Cee is set to showcase his growth as an artist, blending introspective lyricism with boundary-pushing beats to redefine the landscape of UK rap.

D Smoke Debuts His Boastful Single ‘Glide’ On ‘A Colors Show’

A Colors Show has been debuting new songs this month as part of a new partnership with 2K Games. Each week, the popular YouTube channel is bringing a new track to its curated collection in NBA 2K22‘s latest season update. After kicking off the collaboration with Guapdad 4000’s new song “Black Iverson,” the campaign continues today with another new track, this time from Inglewood’s D Smoke.

Titled “Glide,” the boastful new single finds D Smoke in his element, offering lyrics of both encouragement and inspiration on the rapid-fire verses. However, in the chorus, he adds his own swag, bragging, “I look sexy when I’m movin’ through your city.” With a cerulean background, his orange and white ensemble pops right off the screen as he shows off his vocals and proselytizes remaining true to himself.

It’s not the first time D Smoke has contributed a single to a basketball-related piece of media. In 2020, he released the single “Basketball” to coincide with the release of Netflix’s latest hoop-focused season of Last Chance U, while the video for Smoke’s own War & Wonders single “Crossover” has the Inglewood native showing off his streetball skills alongside Compton’s Westside Boogie.

Guapdad 4000 Debuts His Laid-Back New Single, ‘Black Iverson,’ On ‘A COLORS Show’

Earlier this week, COLORS Studios announced its partnership with 2K Games to bring a uniquely curated collection of new music to NBA 2K22 for the game’s latest season update. A COLORS Show favorites like Enny, Smino, and more will feature both within the game and on the game’s official Spotify playlist. Today, the collaboration kicked off in earnest with its first artist, Oakland rapper Guapdad 4000, and his brand new single “Black Iverson.”

In true Guapdad fashion, the Bay Area fashionista appears decked out in a brown Marc Jacobs sweater, which complements the tan background behind him and truly pops with its big spot of purple, which matches his sunglasses. Meanwhile, the song is laid-back, with a swirling synth lead and swinging digitized drums that Guapdad uses to relay his rags-to-riches story and winkingly nod to Post Malone’s own breakout single, “White Iverson.” He also makes a slick reference to his Filipino roots, shouting out the savory and sour soup, sinigang.

“They used to try to leave me off the flyer for the shows / Now my trailer say ‘it’s Guapdad’ on HBO,” he rhymes. Talk about a flex; Guapdad recently posted about collaborating with Issa Rae on a mysterious project on Instagram, but the post has since been deleted, presumably to preserve the secrecy of the show in question. Issa’s got a few things in the works with HBO since Insecure wrapped up, so we’ll see which one the 1176 rapper ends up on.

In the meantime, you can listen to Guapdad’s new song “Black Iverson” above and stay tuned to COLORS Studios for the next NBA 2K22 single.

Joey Badass Debuts His Defiant New Single ‘Head High’ On ‘A COLORS Show’

After a couple of years spent building out the other parts of his resume, Joey Badass has been slowly but surely dipping his toes back into rap. Promising that his third album is “for sure” dropping this year, the Brooklyn-based rapper made his triumphant return to the rap game with his boastful new single “The Rev3nge.” Today, he unveiled his next new single, the defiant “Head High,” with a passionate performance of the song on popular YouTube music series A COLORS Show.

Standing in front of an icy blue background in a cream jacket and matching patterned pants, Joey recounts a conversation with XXXtentacion, comparing him to Joey’s own fallen compatriot Capital Steez, and ruminates on the cyclical nature of trauma and violence in the hood while refusing to give in to it. “Dancin’ with the devil, tryin’ not to lose my balance,” he mutters. “Look, God blessed the kid with many talents.”

Should Joey’s album drop as promised this year, it’ll be his first full-length collection of music since 2017’s All-Amerikkkan Badass, which solidified his talent as more than just a ’90s throwback homage artist.

Flo Milli Debuts Her Aggressive New Single ‘Ice Baby’ On ‘A COLORS Show’

Despite its title’s similarity to another hip-hop hit referencing “Ice Baby,” Flo Milli’s new single sounds wildly different from the one most millennials grew up chanting. Instead, it’s an aggressive, boastful track with a thunderous trap beat that aims to establish the Mobile, Alabama native’s growing dominance in the rap game. The song was debuted on the popular performance platform, A COLORS Show, with Flo Milli decked out in a vibrant cyan bodysuit and popping against a magenta background, helping A COLORS Show live up to its name.

Employing a laid-back rapid-fire flow, Milli brags about her newfound success, comparing herself to her detractors and determining that she’s just too big to belong in their conversations. Although she’s not as animated as some prior guests, her chilly demeanor actually works to the song’s advantage, giving the air of someone who remains rock-solid no matter how boisterous the boasts happen to get.

Fans have been looking forward to the Alabama rapper’s return ever since she appeared on this year’s XXL Freshman Class courtesy of the success of her breakout debut mixtape, Ho, Why Is You Here? in 2020. While she followed that up with a strong feature on GoldLink’s “Raindrops,” her overall absence from the spotlight suggested she was focused on finishing a project, which she recently promised would be “versatile.” With the release of a new single, perhaps those fans’ wait will be over in due time.

Isaiah Rashad Brings A Vivid Performance Of The Low-Key ‘HB2U’ To ‘A COLORS Show’

A COLORS Show is well-known for breaking new and international artists, mostly focusing on rising stars or favorites from places like Britain, France, and various African countries. Every so often, though, the show secures a performance from a big-name American star like Alicia Keys, Black Thought, or Smino. Today, Colors Studio shared an eye-popping performance from Isaiah Rashad, who played a relaxed rendition of his low-key The House Is Burning song, “HB2U.”

Decked out in a Fuschia ensemble, Rashad pops out against the electric yellow background as he croons and spits his surprisingly complex verses with well-practiced ease, barely even seeming to take a breath despite the densely packed, syllable-stacking lyrics. “HB2U” — an acronym for “Happy Birthday to You” — is one of the cornerstone pieces of his new album The House Is Burning, finding him conversing with himself to unpack his self-destructive behaviors as he reflects on getting older and hopes to grow wiser in proportion.

Isaiah was a recent guest on Uproxx’s People’s Party podcast, discussing his favorite rappers and recalling studying Outkast to master his flow.
