SZA’s Scrapped Verse On Lil Tjay’s “Calling My Phone” Leaks

An unused SZA verse from Lil Tjay’s 2021 Destined 2 Win track titled “Calling My Phone,” is now circulating the internet following it’s leak. The final cut that made it to the album instead features 6LACK. Now, some fans are saying that they would’ve preferred if the song featured SZA instead of him.

A clip of the verse shared by RapTV stirred up some debate among Instagram users in the comments section. “Honestly better than 6lacks verse,” one says. “U tripping homie,” another user replies. A different commenter notes that SZA’s “always gonna eat.” One 6LACK fan defends the artist, writing, “nah 6lack went crazy y’all just hating.”

SZA’s Unused Verse

Last month, SZA shared her experience of an ex-boyfriend’s father texting her in an interview with Elle. She claims that the man’s dad had a bone to pick with her after she called his son out during a stop on her SOS tour. “My ex’s father just texted me and was like, ‘My son is really hurt about what you said about him to the crowd,’” she recalled. The artist went on to say, “You don’t get to block me on everything. Tell our mutual friends terrible things about me like I’m a monster, or whatever the case may be. And then I don’t get to speak my piece in my way. You go do your healing and I’ll do mine.”

SZA also opened up about undergoing a Brazilian butt lift, saying, “I always wanted a really fat a*s with less gym time.” She went on to explain, “I didn’t succumb to industry pressure, I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, No, I need some more a*s.” She also revealed to the outlet, “I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it, because it works all by itself.”

Joyner Lucas And NBA Youngboy Link Up For New Single “Cut U Off”

Joyner Lucas has been treating his fans to a lot of new music in the lead-up to his forthcoming album. Since March he’s dropped 4 new tracks, the most recent of which sports a feature from NBA Youngboy. “Cut U Off” starts lowkey and gives both artists the chance to flex their lyrical game. Once the beat drops though it becomes a high-energy banger. Surprisingly, Youngboy morphs his sound quite a bit to blend in with Joyner’s energy and the results are great.

This is the first time Joyner Lucas and NBA Youngboy have appeared on a track together. The two have previously occupied different lanes and styles of hip hop though they merge surprisingly well on “Cut U Off.” In an earlier single released this year, Joyner teamed up with another unlikely artist, Future. Their collaboration “Blackout” got fans’ attention for similar reasons and has racked up millions of plays since it first dropped back in April.

Joyner Lucas And Youngboy Crossover

Joyner Lucas has dropped four new singles so far this year. On top of his collaborations with Future and NBA Youngboy he’s also released two solo songs called “Devil’s Work 2” and “What’s That?” This output is nothing compared to what Youngboy has dropped, however. In just 2023 alone the rapper has released three entire new albums. The first of which I Rest My Case came out right at the start of the year and featured 19 Youngboy tracks with no features. He followed that up in April with the album Don’t Try This At Home. The record contained hit songs that featured artists like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI.

He released Richest Opp his third album of the year so far last month. Despite the persistent release schedule each of the albums have performed quite well. All three projects managed to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 including Richest Opp which made the top 5. What do you think of Joyner Lucas and NBA Youngboy’s new track? Let us know in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can tell they switchin’ when I read the signs
Ain’t too many left in my circle, had to re-design (Ayy)
Uh, I got comfortable with disappointment, so I’ll be just fine (Yeah)
Rather be alone, I’ve been valuin’ my peace of mind (Yeah, yeah)
Keep it funky, we don’t need to vibe
If you hit my line and I don’t answer, don’t you be surprised (Yeah)
You ain’t on my wave, hope that you can read between the lines

Kanye West Works With Playboi Carti In Leaked “Donda” Documentary Footage

In new leaked documentary footage, Kanye West in seen working alongside Playboi Carti on his song “Junya.” The clip reportedly comes from the unreleased Donda documentary. Footage also shows the rapper at the literal drawing board for the album, screaming at various collaborators.

The clips surface following a recent paparazzi photo getting fans’ attention, showing Ye appearing in good spirits alongside Ice Cube. Ice Cube had spoken out about Ye’s claims that the rapper inspired him to make antisemitic comments on social media. “I didn’t put the batteries in his back. Please leave my name out of all the anti-semitic talk. I’m not antisemitic and never have been,” Ice Cube previously wrote on Twitter. Earlier this week, Ye also gave paparazzi a piece of his mind while they snapped photos of him on his way to church. Like, seriously bro, all of you motherf*ckers, stop following me!” he yelled.

Kanye and Playboi Carti Work On “Junya”

Kanye West was also sued by a third former-Donda Academy teacher last week. Timanii Meeks cites various alleged safety hazards at the academy, and claims that they improperly let her go from her position at the school. “The addition of Ms. Meeks to the complaint only serves to reinforce the nightmarish conditions for staff and students at Donda Academy,” attorney Ron Zambrano stated. He went on to say that “all three [teachers] were given the same retaliatory and unlawful treatment merely for trying to stand up for the students’ rights to a meaningful education.”

On a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian also revealed more about her divorce from West and feeling the need to protect her children from his various public scandals. “I still feel the need to not talk about it and protect it from my kids and I always will feel that way but God, if people knew,” she explained, “I would just never do that to my kids.”

Tyler, The Creator recently reflected on working with NBA YoungBoy after the two collaborated on the track, “WUSYANAME.” Tyler spoke about the making of the song during an interview with Elliott Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller on Interval Presents’s podcast, Rap Radar.

“Dude, we got Ice cream we went to go vintage car shopping. He’s so nice, He sent his verse back in a day,” Tyler said of YoungBoy. He added that many artists “just punch in and can’t even stay on f*cking topic of a song. He not only stayed on topic, he just sounded so great.”

From there, Tyler explained why he decided YoungBoy would be right for the song. “When I made [‘WUSYANAME’], I just knew I wanted that Louisiana drawl, tone, accent over that loop,” Tyler further recalled. “I asked him like, ‘Yo, I kind of got this idea. Want to do this?’ Not only did he deliver for me and sounded great, he asked me ‘Is this OK? Is it good?’”

When asked about his reaction to fans being surprised by the collaboration, Tyler described it as “not that shocking.” “With my musical knowledge and how much I love it, it’s not that shocking,” he said. “But at surface level, I guess people wouldn’t expect someone like me to even want to associate with a YoungBoy. But I love that s–t. He’s a sweetheart, man.” Check out Tyler’s full comments on YoungBoy below.

“WUSYANAME” debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest charting song off of Call Me If You Get Lost. Fat Joe Recalls Convincing Bone Thugs-N-Harmony To Work With The Notorious B.I.G.

Fat Joe recently recalled operating as the middle man to orchestrate the studio session with The Notorious B.I.G. and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony that lead to the making of the Life After Death track, “Notorious Thugs.” He discussed the song during an appearance on Angie Martinez’s new podcast, Iconic Records.

“Biggie hit me up and was like, ‘Yo bro, I’m trying to get in touch with your guys. They don’t wanna do it. They ignoring me.’ They didn’t wanna do a song with Biggie. And just for Biggie to think that advanced because New York wasn’t up on Bone Thugs like that. He know that they was gigantic and he was like, ‘Yo, I need to do a song with them.’ And I was like, ‘Um alright.’ And he was like, ‘Nah, I know you the plug. You can do it.’ I was like, ‘Alright Big, I got you.’”

“So, then I called them and they had already been cool with 2Pac. And so they was like, ‘Yo Joe, we can’t do it. We cool with 2Pac.’ And I’m like, ‘Yo bro, this is B.I.G. You know what it is to do a song with B.I.G.?’ So I convinced them and shout-out Steve Lobel and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony showed up to the studio and they did the record, ‘Bone and Biggie, Biggie.’ And so, every time I see that picture I laugh but that’s why we got that.”

Martinez has been analyzing Biggie’s final album, Life After Death, for months now to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. In doing so, she’s sat down with Lil Cease, Pusha T, Rick Ross, Too $hort, and more to discuss the late Brooklyn legend. Ariana Grande Attends “Renaissance” Tour In London Amid Beyonce Collab Rumors

Could Beyonce and Ariana Grande really be gearing up for a collaboration? Both artists have certainly had their hands full lately. Ariana has been very busy with her return to acting. The pop star is currently filming her part in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, Wicked. She has not released any of her own new music for several years, but fans were treated to a collab with The Weeknd back in February. The singer hopped onto Abel’s hit song “Die For You.” While Ariana may not be planning to drop her own new album anytime soon, it looks like another collab is in the making.

Beyonce has been quite busy herself. She recently embarked on her “Renaissance” Tour, and she’s been making headlines practically every day since. On opening night, fans went absolutely wild. One of them even got arrested for trying to sneak into a VIP area. If there is one fanbase you can count on to be over the top, it’s the Beyhive. The fans’ antics aren’t the only thing the tour is making headlines for, however. Almost every single tour date thus far has been a veritable who’s who of celebrities. Big names have been showing up in droves to support Beyonce. One of those names just happens to be Ariana Grande. In a video posted by a fan, the pop star can be seen at one of the London stops for the “Renaissance” Tour. Of course, this only lends more credence to the rumors of a collaboration.

Beyonce’s Collaborations Continue

Beyonce fans know at this point that they should expect the unexpected. Since the artist released her latest album last year, fans have been eagerly anticipating visual content. Visuals have always played a significant role in any album released by the legendary artist. It’s no wonder that the primary question on fans’ minds has been, “Where are the visuals?” Interestingly, Beyoncé provided a clever response to this question during a segment of her performance. In the introduction to “Formation,” a narrator’s voice-over is accompanied by the words displayed on large screens. The disembodied voice humorously states, “I know you hear me. You’ve asked for the visuals. You’ve called for the queen, but a queen moves at her own pace, b*tch.”

However, it appears that Beyonce still has some surprises in store for her fans after all. Recently, she unexpectedly released a remix of “America Has A Problem,” offering an exciting addition to her repertoire. The remix featured Kendrick Lamar, who previously collaborated with Beyonce on her Lemonade album. Given the release, it’s no surprise that people are speculating on further remix releases. How many there are in the works remains to be seen. However, it would not be out of character for Beyonce to drop more in the coming weeks without any annoucnements whatsoever. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news on Beyonce and all things hip-hop.

Danny Brown Admits Joining Childish Gambino On The Road Was “One Of The Worst Tours”

Danny Brown says that his tour alongside Childish Gambino was “one of the worst tours” he ever played. Reflecting on the experience during a recent episode of The Danny Brown Show, he revealed to Redveil that he would cry after being booed off stage. Ahead of the tour, Brown collaborated with Gambino on his Royalty track, “Toxic” which samples Britney Spears.

“I mean, shit, man, Childish Gambino,” he began. “I remember when I first did [‘Toxic’], people weren’t really fucking with Childish Gambino like that around that time. ‘Cause I remember when he asked me to go on that tour. My manager at the time was like, ‘You sure you wanna do this?’ I’m like, ‘Hell yeah, fuck that. I’m tryna get on the road.’ Which was, I will say, that was like one of the worst tours I ever played. They hated my guts every night – I was getting booed off stage. I remember I was crying one night, crying crocodile tears like a little bitch, sitting in some diner. We had some hoes with us and everything. I ain’t even wanna do with the b*tches, man. I’m like, ‘They hate me, man. This sh*t sucks. I’m really trash.’”

“They was hating my ass, dawg, that whole entire tour,” he continued. “But when I look at it, man, our music was so different. Like, I was coming from a whole different perspective than what he was coming on. But then when I got in the studio, I’m like, ‘Oh no, this n***a is dope.’ So I would say, more than anything, I’ve been impressed by people that I didn’t really think were like that. He’s just an all around talented motherf*cker in that sense, and I be jealous of them muthafuckas, too. I call them ‘art school kids.’ Like, this motherf*cker can really do anything – why you wanna rap?! This all I got! This all I know how to do!”

Ice Spice Rumored To Have A Collab With Camila Cabello

Rumors that Ice Spice has an upcoming collaboration with Camila Cabello are circulating social media. Though none of the rumors have been confirmed, fans noticed that Ice Spice started following Cabello on Instagram last week. They also noticed that James Rosemond Jr, her manager, began following Cabello as well as her management on Instagram recently. Fans have mixed feelings about the rumored collaboration. Some think it would be the “song of the summer” and others claim it would be a “flop.” If the rumors prove to be true, the collab will follow the Bronx rapper’s feature on Taylor Swift’s “Karma (Remix).”

“A hit incoming,” one user writes in response to the rumors. “She woke up one day, debuted and decided to be successful af. Looks like god’s fav to me idk,” writes another. “I think ice should calm down with the collabs and work on a solo album with no feats,” someone adds. “Ice spice doing charity I fear,” another less-than-excited user comments. Some listeners are already comparing the rumored collab to her recent feature on Swift’s “Karma (Remix),” which also received mixed reviews. The remix itself was wildly successful, winning Ice Spice the record for biggest streaming debut for a female rapper, but some listeners question the intentions behind the project.

Ice Spice Fans Have Mixed Feelings

Her collaboration with Swift was released amid Swift’s rumored romance with The 1975’s Matty Healy. He made some controversial comments recently about Ice Spice’s appearance, and many users felt as though his remarks were racist. Healy has received tremendous backlash for his comments, and some thought Swift’s collab with Ice Spice was intended to “shield” Healy.

Azealia Banks recently tore into the frontman, claiming, “He’s clearly so pressed about a Black girl who knows nothing about him or his music is making more moves and money than him.” Banks continued, telling him, “The 1975 is on nobody’s radar babe, maybe fat emo teenagers but no we are not checkin’ for you boo.”

BandMan Kevo Shades Gunna With Rat Diss In Collab Promo

Allegations of snitching have followed Gunna for several years. The allegations first arose in 2019, when Tec claimed that Gunna snitched on Young Thug. Of course, Young Thug is now at the center of a RICO trial in Georgia. A number of other artists have since come forward to agree that Gunna did indeed snitch.

Now Gunna appears to be readying a comeback. He was recently spotted at an NBA playoffs game. Furthermore, he has been teasing some new music on social media. However, while Gunna still has a loyal fanbase, not everyone is pumped to see Gunna making a comeback. While legal experts have stated that Gunna’s plea deal didn’t incriminate any of the other defendants in the YSL RICO trial, many people see it simply as “a snitch is a snitch”. Furthermore, many have questioned exactly what Gunna said which meant he avoided jail time.

One of the artists that Gunna is reportedly about to drop music with is Bandman Kevo, last seen on HotNewHipHop getting fined in Jamaica for dangerous driving. However, fans are debating just how good the relationship is between the two artists given a recent post from Kevo. On Instagram, Kevo posted a picture from his upcoming video with Gunna. However, Kevo added a rat emoji over Gunna’s face. This is a clear reference to Gunna’s snitching allegations.

Whether it’s shade or a joke remains to me seen. However, fans are confused if not only opened opposed to the diss. “You have a bbl sir pls,” one person wrote on Instagram. In fact, a lot of people pointed out Kevo’s BBL as a dismissal of the post. Why having a BBL is worse than allegedly snitching is a mystery for another day. However, other people questioned the choice to include the diss. “Why even drop the video if he feel that way. 🤡,” asked one person. “Using rat status for marketing is wiiiiild,” added another. “Alone” will reportedly drop this week, according to Kevo. However, we’ll have any updates on the story. Follow all the latest music news here at HotNewHipHop.

The Weeknd Details Interest In Writing & Co-Producing Madonna Album After “The Idol” Soundtrack Collab

Once again, The Weeknd is proving that his creativity knows no bounds. His latest project, The Idol, finds him not only sitting in the producer and writer’s seats but also starring in and creating the soundtrack alongside some other huge artists. The controversial HBO series made its debut at Cannes Film Festival last month, with many reviews condemning the show for over-sexualizing 23-year-old Lily-Rose Depp in virtually every episode. Fans will be able to tap into the show at home this coming weekend, and ahead of that, Abel Tesfaye gave us a taste of the music that’s to come.

This New Music Friday (June 2) he joined forces with Playboi Carti and Madonna for “Popular,” which brings about a seriously nostalgic sound. The Weeknd spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 about the single, as well as his aspirations for future work with the Queen of Pop. “The thing is, I’ve always wanted to work with her. I’ve always wanted to write and produce a Madonna album… Well, co-produce with her, of course,” the Canadian shared.

The Weeknd Chats with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1

He specifically praised Madonna for being “such a visionary” and keeping her sights set on a singular outcome. “I just want to come into her world and create a classic Madonna album. That was always my dream. So this can be… hopefully, this is the appetizer for that,” Tesfaye teased. Elsewhere, he spoke about “Popular” and how “proud” he is of how the track came together.

“Me and Carti had this… I mean, we’ve jammed out before. We’ve had a different version of this song prior. So I’ve had these vocals for a while and I’ve kind of just worked around it, and then kind of kept it in the tuck. But now it felt like it was time. It was time,” the genre-bending vocalist reflected. Would you be excited to stream a joint album from Madonna and The Weeknd?
