Doe Boy And Skilla Baby Are Ruthless On “Smack Sh*t”

The Ohio rap scene is one of the more underrated hot spots for rap talent. Quite a few stars were born in the blue-collar state. You have the likes of Kid Cudi, DaBaby, Trippie Redd, Latto, MGK, and of course the Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony clan. But one that gets little to no spotlight is Doe Boy. A Cleveland native, his gritty tone and brash style of rapping is something that is definitely influenced in his music.

He might not be the most technically-skilled rapper but his approach to production is very unique. This was enough to impress the likes of Future. The founder of the music group Freebandz signed Doe Boy in 2019. Since then, the trap icon has taken him under his wing and he has produced some hits over the past couple of years.

Future even helped the labelmate work on his last record from June, BEEZY. He co-produced that project with the Clevelander and it boasted tons of big names. Now, Doe Boy is back in the studio, this time with up-and-comer, Skilla Baby. Michigan and Ohio talents collide for this nasty and grimy single, “Smack Sh*t.”

What are your initial thoughts on Doe Boy and Skilla Baby’s newest single, “Smack Sh*t?” Which artist had the best performance on the track? Do these two need to collaborate more often? Rome Streetz And Joey Bada$$ Are A Dynamic Duo On “Fire At Ya Idle Mind”

Born in London and raised in New York, Rome Streetz is one of the most underrated lyrical masters in the rap game. Since the mid to late 2010s, he has been a consistent material dropper, yet he continues to fly under the radar. But, he is having a big 2023 for those who are not aware. He has been a part of many collaboration singles in addition to quite a few albums. Streetz will be featured on another Westside Gunn project as well. He will be one of the many guests on the sequel to Gunn’s 2020 release, Pray for Paris. And Then You Pray For Me is due on October 13 and you will be able to hear more heat from that frequent duo soon.

Furthermore, his solo output has also been high. Streetz will be dropping another album at some point before the end of the year. It will be a part of his Noise Kandy series, with the fifth installment coming out next. Streetz’s lead single, “Hell Backwards,” just last Friday (September 15).

The chemistry is great here and you would not even know that this is their first song together. The beat is also sinister and is provided by Brooklyn producer Wavy Da Ghawd. This next album should be a doozy.

Sango And Masego Are A Nice Pairing On “Masego’s Interlude”

Washington-born hip-hop producer and record maker Sango is back with a quickie featuring another producer, Masego. Masego can also sing, which is why he is in Sango’s song, “Masego’s Interlude.” This all sounds like a mouthful, but Sango produced the track, and features Masego’s glistening vocals. It is unfortunate that this is only an interlude because this little teaser is a nice listen. If you check out Sango’s Instagram, you will see that this single is leading off for his upcoming album.

We do not have any word on the project’s title, but what we can tell you is that we are excited about it. Both artists are tremendous producers, both being behind some big hits and just overall solid tracks. For example, Sango is on records such as “In My Room” with Frank Ocean, “The Sequence” with Bryson Tiller, and more. On the other side, Masego is right there with him.

You can thank the Jamaican native for hits like “Champagne Poetry” from Drake, “Skrawberries” by JID, and “Late Night” by Goldlink. Hopefully, both artists work heavily on Sango’s next effort. Both are clearly geniuses when it comes to selecting the right beat for the right vibe. Give the track a listen up above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand single, “Masego’s Interlude,” from Sango and Masego? Is this one of Sango’s best beats? Is Masego an underrated R&B artist? Elyrix Nabs NAV Feature For His Newest Single “Looking At Me”

Just over a month ago, we covered a newer artist on the scene out of Montréal, Québec, Canada. His name is Elyrix, a 30-year-old rapper and vocalist who is making waves up north. He began releasing music to streaming back in 2020 with the release of his debut project. I Feel Better Alone was a solo project that was recorded in his basement. All artists have to start somewhere and Elyrix certainly put his heart and soul into his first offering to make sure he could have a more stable foundation.

That came to fruition for the artist, as he was able to eventually build his own studio. Subsequently, slowing down was not an option for Elyrix. Less than a year later break & tell came out and that really got things in motion for him Some high-level performances at a few shows got some major rapper’s attention. Rick RossGucci ManeLil Baby, and Gunna, were all impressed with his style and sound. So much so, that all four of them and more would go on to appear on his Ostrogoth, Pt. 1 tape. More ears caught wind of Elyrix because of this and he grabbed Gunna for a single just about a week later on “Day Off,” which is blowing up.

All of this hard work brings us to another new single a week later called “Looking At Me.” This time he joins NAV in the studio, as his recognition continues to flourish. It is a quick two-minute cut, but do not let the time fool you. The track is hard-hitting with Elyrix even co-producing it. According to Genius, this looks to be on his Ostrogoth, Pt. 2 which is possible slated for a 2024 release.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new song, “Looking At Me,” featuring Elyrix and NAV? Is this his best single of 2023? Which song of his is your favorite? Majid Jordan And Naomi Sharon Create Vocal Symphony On “Waiting For You”

Toronto’s own R&B heaven-sent duo of singer Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman are back with a new single for 2023. In fact, this is their first solo release since 2021, when they released their last full-length studio effort, Wildest Dreams. That project featured some heavy hitters such as Swae Lee, Drake, and Diddy. Majid Jordan had some wonderful and whimsical tracks such as “Waves of Blue,” “Summer Rain,” and “Stars Align” with their label head, Drake. Unfortunately, the duo has remained fairly dormant.

We say fairly because there have been some songs remixed featuring the two Canadians in the past year or so. But, no solo material in over two years. But, now they are finally making a little return to the R&B space with this just-dropped track called, “Waiting For You.” They are not alone on this cut, however, as Naomi Sharon makes an appearance here as well.

We also get a music video for this song and the visuals definitely have a throwback vibe to them. The video is grainy and the soft fadeaways in between Sharon and Jordan give it a nostalgic feeling. “Waiting For You” itself is a stunning track, as expected. The vocals bleed so well into each other from Sharon and Maskati and the production from Ullman is sensual and sweet. It is about willing to wait for someone you really care about no matter the cost. Like the message of the song, we are always willing to wait on Jordan for new music.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track, “Waiting For You,” with Majid Jordan and Naomi Sharon? Is this one of the best R&B songs of 2023? Do you think this duo should collaborate more often? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. Peezy Heads To “Fashion Week” With Money Man And Larry June

With Fashion Week season in full swing right now across the globe, what better way to commemorate it than with a lavish rap single. Well, that is exactly what Peezy has done with his latest track with Money Man and Larry June. All three artists are specialists when it comes to rapping about money and expensive clothing. “Fashion Week” is also the first time these three have been on the mic together.

However, these artists are not strangers to each other, though. Larry June and Money Man have a collaboration on the song “Intercepted.” Peezy and Money Man have a bit more familiarity with one another. They have quite a few tracks together such as, “Latest Gen,” and “Ali Baba.”

“Fashion Week” runs about almost four minutes long and features production from Zara Aldemir and Yvksel3580. The beat samples some soulful vocals with trap inspiration. Stunna Girl’s Brings Her Aggression Out On “Wake Dis S*** Up” With Mozzy

Stunna Girl’s unapologetic personality is all over this latest single with Mozzy. “Wake Dis S*** Up,” is a three-minute and 40-second banger that warns all of those who want the smoke, to try and step up to Stunna or Mozzy. This is also the two rappers’ first time working on the same song. It is fairly safe to say that this is an unexpected collaboration given who the two artists are used to working with.

Mozzy has been on some massive albums over the past few years. For example, he appeared on the Black Panther The Album Music From And Inspired By. It was a soundtrack for one the biggest blockbusters of all time. Mozzy can also be found on Jay Rock’s Redemption, Killer Mike’s latest record, MICHAEL, and a couple of YG albums, to name a few more.

Flyana Boss Puts Out A Remix For Their Popular “You Wish” With Missy Elliott And Kaliii

At one point Missy Elliott was defending Flyana Boss and their repetitive style to their music videos. Now, it is a full circle moment for the rap duo heralding from Detroit and Dallas. The exciting and energetic pairing grabbed arguably the best female rapper of all time along with the up-and-coming Kaliii for a remix to a popular cut. Flyana Boss‘s viral track “You Wish” sees them redo an already fun listen and adds more entertaining voices to the mix.

The heavy piano keys and trap-like beat are provided by Puda Beats and Marky Style. It is a fast-paced instrumental that matches the quick flows from the original version. However, the new edition starts with Kaliii’s verse, not the duo’s. But the new feature verse from the Barbie The Album artist is more than a welcome addition.

Ransom Calls On Fellow New Yorkers 38 Spesh And Che Noir For “Scape Goats”

New York’s lyrical rappers’ pool is gargantuan. Three of the superior talents come together to form an Avengers-like team on this new East Coast cut from Ransom, 38 Spesh, and Che Noir. Ransom is the headliner here, with 38 and Noir joining him to spit some incredible bars. What is also cool about this single is that Ransom splits each verse with his features. He and 38 tag team the first verse and then he works with the female MC on the backend.

It creates a fun dynamic and shows how Ransom fits perfectly alongside each rapper. Good luck deciding on who takes the gold medal for best performance. All three provide tremendous wordplay and command of their flows. The beat is made by Prophecy and it has a grand feel with its string sections.
