NLE Choppa Puts Mike Jones On Blast For Copyrighting Previously-Cleared Song

NLE Choppa recently took to social media, calling out Mikes Jones for allegedly copyrighting a song that had already been cleared. Choppa dropped his “CMON FREESTYLE” last week, spitting over Jones’ early-2000s track, “Still Tippin.” It seems, based on a recent Tweet from Choppa, that Jones copyrighted the track just recently.

“Ion know if it’s Mike jones or his team but on everything y’all dead wrong for trying to copyright a song I got cleared,” the 20-year-old wrote. “That’s some hating sh*t especially for a young n***a like me that’s just tryna please his fans. Ion feel that I lost d*mb respect but it’s cool fasho !” At the time of writing, Jones has yet to respond.

NLE Choppa Thinks Mike Jones Is On “Some Hating Sh*t”

While many social media users appear to be on board with what NLE Choppa’s saying, some point out that Jones himself may not be responsible. Others note how this isn’t the first time Jones has taken issue with other artists sampling his music. Earlier this year, BiC Fizzle put the rapper on blast for getting his song “44s” removed from YouTube. Similarly, Fizzle’s song samples “Still Tippin.”

“Mike Jones you a h*e for making my n***a’s shit get deleted, n***a, with your broke a**,” BiC Fizzle said during a live stream. “The real kickback drop 4’s old broke b*tch,” he added. Jones eventually clapped back, telling Fizzle “You gotta learn the business.” He continued, suggesting that the artist failed to properly clear the sample. “Once you become an owner of something and people will want to sample your stuff, it’s a proper procedure of business that has to go down. Once that business goes down, you get the access gate to keep going,” he explained. What do you think of Mike Jones allegedly copyrighting a song that NLE Choppa had previously cleared? Do you think NLE Choppa’s reaction was warranted, or is he overreacting? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Shy Glizzy Will Not Face Charges For Alleged Gun Incident With Ex-Girlfriend

Shy Glizzy found himself in a lot of hot legal water following a May arrest in West Hollywood following a dispute with his ex-girlfriend. Moreover, model Maya Colon pressed charges after he allegedly threatened her with a gun, she claims, and that this followed various threats to her family, career, and subsequent relationships after their April split. What’s more is that she claimed the rapper followed her in his car and, at a red light, brandished a firearm and hit it on her windshield. His arrest resulted in a felony charge of threats following his release on bond for $50,000.

However, now TMZ reports indicate that the court cleared Shy Glizzy of all charges on Friday (July 14). According to the outlet, authorities did not find sufficient evidence to support Colon’s claims, which eventually led to them dropping the case. Not only that, but apparently officials committed an “inadmissible search and seizure” when investigating the case, which can hold very serious consequences. That’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and it implies a few possible actions. One is a search without a warrant, search with no probable cause, or an unjustified extension of a legal search and seizure.

Regardless, the D.C. MC’s ex-girlfriend still has a temporary restraining order against him. Furthermore, it details that Shy Glizzy must stay at least 100 yards away from her. In addition, he can’t contact her and can’t post any explicit photos or videos of her online (assumedly “explicit” refers to pictures and videos explicitly about her, since not being able to post explicit content sounds like a given). Still, apparently Colon still seeks a permanent restraining order in court, from what reports indicate, despite the dropped charges.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old denied any and all claims on his Instagram Story back in May when this all blew up. “The accusations made against me are completely false,” he expressed. “I would never in my life pull a weapon or harm a female in any way so stop with the BS allegations! What is wrong with ppl?” For more news and the latest updates on Shy Glizzy, stick around on HNHH.

Travis Scott Cleared Without Criminal Charges For Astroworld Tragedy

Earlier on Thursday (June 29), fans everywhere expressed shock at the news that a Houston grand jury would meet to determine whether they would criminally charge Travis Scott for the ten deaths and many injuries as a result of a crowd crush at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Moreover, his attorney Kent Schaffer informed the press of the jury’s upcoming decision. Now, we know that the court did not find sufficient evidence to formally indict La Flame for the tragedy. Furthermore, Schaffer stated that no articulation on what the specific charges would be came forward. According to court documents obtained by KHOU 11, Scott was no billed on an involuntary homicide charge.

Of course, this news shocked fans not because of the severity and criminal prosecution of the case, but because it took so long for the court to discuss this issue. Still, Travis Scott never took the witness stand for his testimony, but reports indicate that he did participate in police interviews to shed light on the disaster. “Nothing Travis did or failed to do fits within the Texas criminal code,” Schaffer had stated in relation to this case. Regardless, prosecutors made their case before the grand jury, but the parties involved ultimately decided that it would be a fruitless endeavor.

Travis Scott Cleared Of Criminal Charges

Even though this is a win for Travis Scott, it doesn’t diminish the horrible and avoidable events that went down at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Whether you attribute that blame to the 32-year-old, larger event planners, or city organizers is another question entirely. In addition, the families of the victims or injured victims themselves still presented lawsuits against the rapper and those involved in Astroworld’s planning. As such, we’re sure that this is a big legal sidestep, but not the only obstacle in his path regarding this tragedy.

Meanwhile, this news comes as hype for his next album UTOPIA is at an all-time high. New billboards point towards a July 21 release date, although considering release patterns these days, anything could happen. Perhaps the Cactus Jack frontman will actually address some of these themes on wax, however unlikely that seems given legal liability.
