Chief Keef has had a massive impact on music over the past few years, despite not being a mainstream figure in the way that some of his contemporaries are — or even his successors. So even though it might seem odd to those of us in the know about Keef’s influence that he would be shocked to learn that stars like Solange Knowles are fans, it makes sense from a certain point of view.
A video of Solange and Keef conversing outside one of his recent shows is currently going viral on Twitter, capturing Keef’s bewilderment that Solange apparently knows his stuff. As she asks him about a certain production (“that’s you on the keys?”), he gives a flabbergasted, “Yo, what the f*ck is goin’ on?”
It makes sense that Solange — someone who has always had a finger on the pulse via her Saint Heron imprint — knows Keef’s production. After all, so many of today’s rap stars count him among their biggest influences. However, given that his discography doesn’t include too many widely recognized hits aside from “Don’t Like” (which surprisingly only peaked at No. 73 on the Hot 100), it’s understandable that he’d be caught off-guard by Solange being tapped in like this. After all, her sister Beyoncé is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet and doesn’t seem to be the kind of person who moves in the same circles as Keef’s most ardent followers. But hey, if this means Sexyy Red has a chance to show up on Act III, I hope we can all point to this as the moment that kicked it all off.
Chief Keef kicked off his highly anticipated “A Lil Tour” last night at The Midway in San Francisco, thrilling fans with live renditions from Almighty So 2 and classic hits. The 29-year-old rap star, known for drawing massive crowds, was joined by 43B signee Lil Gnar and The Glo Boyz, making for an unforgettable opening night.
Produced by Live Nation, the 14-city tour marks Chief Keef’s return to nationwide touring. Upcoming stops include Los Angeles on November 2 at the Hollywood Palladium, Atlanta on November 13 at Coca-Cola Roxy, Philadelphia on November 19 at The Fillmore, and Brooklyn on November 23 at the Brooklyn Paramount.
Tickets are still available for select dates at ChiefKeef.com, with previously purchased tickets valid for rescheduled stops. Fans can expect more unforgettable nights as Chief Keef brings his iconic sound across the U.S.
Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society and Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade are collaborating on a new documentary exploring the life and career of Chicago rapper Chief Keef. Directed by Bennett and produced by Barris alongside Khalabo’s Jeremy Allen, the film will chronicle Chief Keef’s meteoric rise, his 10-year political exile from Chicago, and his recent return to the city.
The documentary will highlight Chief Keef’s pivotal role in creating Drill Rap, a genre that revolutionized hip-hop and left a lasting impact on both the music industry and Chicago’s cultural landscape. Viewers will also get a glimpse into Chicago’s segregated neighborhoods and gang violence, providing context for Keef’s journey. The film will delve into how Keef became both a voice for the city’s marginalized youth and a scapegoat for political figures looking to address gang violence.
Widely regarded as the “King of Drill Music,” Chief Keef was more than a rapper to his community—he was a symbol of hope for young people in underserved areas. As he developed a new sound that captured the raw realities of life in Chicago, he gave a voice to their shared struggles. However, for local politicians, Keef’s music made him a convenient target for controversy.
Cole Bennett, founder of Lyrical Lemonade, brings his unique vision to the project. Known for his innovative music videos, Bennett has worked with artists like Juice WRLD, Eminem, and Post Malone. His blend of bold visuals and cutting-edge techniques has made Lyrical Lemonade a powerhouse in the hip-hop world.
In addition to Barris and Allen, the film’s executive producers include Jake Millan, Krista Worby, Emile Geneve, and Idris Dykes.
Chief Keef is a Chicago legend, and a hip hop legend. He pioneered a sound that’s still being used and expanded upon today. Keef’s legacy has also been defined by his legal troubles, and the various beefs he’s had with other artists. Both of these aspects will serve as the basis for the upcoming documentary about his life. Variety confirmed that a Chief Keef documentary is in the works, and Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett will serve as the director. It will mark Bennett’s feature directorial debut.
The documentary has yet to receive a proper title. That said, Variety provided some crucial details about the film and what fans can expect. It will chronicle Chief Keef’s meteoric rise to fame in the late aughts. The influence that the rapper had on Chicago’s drill scene will be explored and his impact on music as a whole will be fleshed out. The doc will utilize the framework of Chief Keef’s recent return to Chicago. This is following a decade plus of being banned from performing in the city. Keef’s set at the Summer Smash Festival marked his first show in the Windy City since Lollapalooza in 2012.
The timing of the documentary makes perfect sense. Chief Keef reputation and career were in the wild for most of the 2010s. It was unclear if the rapper would ever get a chance to reclaim his spot as a music pioneer. Fortunately, the acclaim given to his recent releases, and his Summer Smash stint, have signaled a change. Chief Keef talked about said his outsized influence during a May interview with the Grammy Awards. “If I had 500 M’s every time [I heard that], I’d be Jeff Bezos,” he quipped. “I be hearing that a lot, though, man… We know. I used to get mad about it, but I don’t give a f*ck.”
The documentary will also provide a major turning point for Cole Bennett. The Lyrical Lemonade creative has been one of the most in-demand music video directors of the last decade. He’s thrilled to be making the transition to narrative films, however. He retweeted the Variety article announcing the documentary, and wrote: “My first film, Chief Keef documentary.” A release date has yet to be announced. The untitled doc will be produced by Kenya Barris, as well as Lyrical Lemonade’s Jake Millan and Krista Worby.
Chief Keef, the 29-year-old rap sensation known for his magnetic stage presence, has revealed new dates for his highly anticipated “A Lil Tour.” Produced by Live Nation, the tour will now span 14 cities across the U.S., kicking off in San Francisco at The Midway on October 30th. Other highlights include Los Angeles on November 2nd at Hollywood Palladium, Atlanta on November 13th at Coca Cola Roxy, Philadelphia on November 19th at The Fillmore, and Brooklyn on November 23rd at Brooklyn Paramount.
Supporting Keef on all dates will be 43B signee Lil Gnar and The Glo Boyz. General ticket sales begin Friday, September 6 at 10 AM local time on ChiefKeef.com. Tickets for the previously scheduled dates will be honored.
The tour follows the release of Chief Keef’s critically acclaimed album Almighty So 2, which debuted on May 10th via 43B. The album, produced by Sosa himself, is a testament to his skills as an emcee, featuring collaborations with Sexyy Red, Quavo, G Herbo, Tierra Whack, Lil Gnar, and Ballout. Almighty So 2 earned Best New Music from Pitchfork and received “Album of the Year” nods from Rolling Stone, The FADER, and more. It also made notable chart debuts, including number three on Billboard’s Independent Albums and number 30 on the Billboard 200.
Fans who have been wondering about the exact nature of Sexyy Red and Chief Keef’s relationship got some juicy red meat for gossip (or maybe red wine?) when the St. Louis star went on the Thoughts In A Culli podcast on Wednesday (August 14). After being asked about Chief Keef, Sexyy joked that the Chicago rapper “might be my third baby daddy” after detailing their interactions over the past few months.
“That’s my dog,” she said of Keef. “I don’t got too many homeboys that I can sit on the phone with. And I’m not even saying that’s my homeboy ‘cause I don’t know what we got going on. We like each other. But we can sit on the phone, we can be around each other and act like we been knew each other all these years… That’s my n****!”
The first time the two rappers were linked was when they teamed up to record “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad),” which was released last December. Keef appears in the video for the song, which features selfies of the two engaged in some cozy PDA. Sexyy had posted those selfies before the release of the video, which first sparked the rumors, but it sounds like things have progressed quite a bit since then. Sexyy recently appeared to confirm that the two were also working on a joint album together, so there’s a chance that their association could wind up being very productive, indeed.
You can watch the full interview with Sexyy Red for Thoughts In A Culli above.
Chief Keef is the muse of many ladies out there, and on Thursday (August 15), two of his biggest celebrity fans congratulated him on his 29th birthday. Kayla B, King Von’s sister, posted an Instagram video from her bed in which he stands next to her in the distance, captioning it with “Happy Birthday 2 my boyfriend I love youuuuuu @chieffkeeffsossa.” On the other hand, Sosa’s “Bow Bow Bow” collaborator Sexyy Red took to IG with a video of the two of them together flexing their chains and stakcs of cash. “Happy burfday keefy,” she captioned her post, adding to theories that there’s a love triangle going on with these individuals.
However, Sexyy Red’s recent comments on her Chief Keef relationship indicate that they don’t really have a label and that her back-and-forth social media jabs with Kayla B aren’t that serious. “It’s genuine,” she said during an interview. “That’s my peoples, that’s my dog. Like, I don’t got too many homeboys that I can sit on the phone with. And I’m not even saying that’s my homeboy ’cause I don’t know what we got going on. We like each other, but we can sit on the phone, we can be around each other and act like we been knew each other all these years.”
Not only that, but Sexyy Red even joked about making Chief Keef her third baby daddy. It’s still relatively unclear exactly what the dynamic between them and Kayla B is, and how each of them would characterize these relationships. Either way, the worst case scenario is that they’re leaning into this speculation for our entertainment, so let’s always remain skeptical. After all, jumping to conclusions is how this could turn into some actual drama.
Meanwhile, a lot of Chief Keef fans might not be as quick to congratulate him on his birthday this time around. As his return to Instagram proved, a lot of fans are unhappy that he postponed his 2024 tour for medical reasons, especially after Almighty So 2 took so long to come out. But what many Sosa fans should remember is that AS2 was well worth the wait, and so will this tour. So happy birthday, Chief: we hope Kayla B, Sexyy Red, and many more made your 29th a great one.
Sexyy Red and Chief Keef have so much collaborative chemistry that they apparently have a joint album on the way, but fans are still wondering if there’s more to it than that. Moreover, following some social media jabs back and forth with King Von’s sister Kayla B, many are speculating as to whether or not the two rappers are a romantic item. Kayla and Sexyy joked about sharing the Chicago legend and, while many thought their clash was legitimate, it seems like there’s a good chance it was all joking or all for show. During a new Thoughts In A Culli interview with GRM Daily CEO Post, the St. Louis femcee spoke on how she would characterize her bond with Sosa.
“It’s genuine,” Sexyy Red said of her relationship, professional or otherwise, with Chief Keef.
Not only that, but when Post doubled down, Sexyy Red seemed to double down as well: “That’s my n***a.” In fact, she even joked about making Chief Keef her third baby daddy after advocating for her first’s freedom. Still, while these words don’t put an official label on them or even confirm that these statements refer to a romantic fling, it does seem like they at least have a great bond together that they still have yet to define.
As such, maybe we can expect a more formal relationship reveal somewhere down the line for Sexyy Red and Chief Keef. The “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” dynamic duo certainly have fans on the edge of their seats for more chemistry-filled collaborations. But are they actually an item or just good friends leaning into the promotional and engagement opportunities that a romance would bring them? Either way, we’re here for it.
Everybody on the planet has a twin, and Sexyy Red has found hers. One X user was showing off her new hair color when the rest of social media realized the resemblance.
Red also chimed in, dubbing the person “Sophisticatedd Red?”
In other news, Sexyy Red has revealed that she will drop a joint album with Chief Keef. Red kept mystery in their relationship, stating, “That’s my boo.”
“We dropping an album soon,” Red said. “Yeah, for sure. We’ve been working.
“We just be on some money shit. Some car shit, fast cars. Fuck these hoes. Buy some clothes. and keep your hair done.”
Earlier this year, Sexyy Red and Chief Keef released the highly-anticipated video for their collaboration “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad),” a standout track from Sexyy’s acclaimed Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe) project. Known for her advocacy for her child’s father, Sexyy takes a new approach in this track, encouraging mothers everywhere to leave their “hating a**” baby daddies and enjoy themselves. Chief Keef mirrors Sexyy’s energy, expressing similar disdain for his baby mama.
Directed by NSTY, the video features Sexyy and Chief Keef heading to “The Corry Show,” a playful spin on the infamous Maury Povich show, to prove that Keef is her baby daddy.
The video also marks the beginning of Sexyy’s new era as the hood’s hottest presidential candidate. The intro shows Sexyy informing constituents of her #MakeAmericaSexyyAgain campaign platform, promising enticing policies like free food stamps.
Sexyy recently announced her upcoming “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour,” a 26-city tour with support from Hunxho, Loe Shimmy, BlakeIANA, and a surprise special guest. The tour continues Sexyy’s streak of buzzworthy performances at Governor’s Ball and Roots Picnic, along with upcoming international festival appearances at Wireless Festival, Rokslide, Rolling Loud Europe, and more.
The tour follows the release of Sexyy’s In Sexyy We Trust mixtape, the follow-up to her 2023 debut Hood Hottest Princess, which includes the Billboard top 20 hit “Get It Sexyy” and the top 50 love anthem “U My Everything” ft. Drake. If you’ve never been to a Sexyy Red show, it’s a must-add to your summer bucket list, with crowds expected to twerk on top of their seats to “SkeeYee” and “Get It Sexyy!”
Earlier this week, Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, and King Von’s sister Kayla B made one big love triangle.
Sexyy Red hit social media, seemingly confirming she was romantically involved with Chief Keef, showing off his chain, including putting it in her underwear. “We got together now,” she wrote, tagging Keef. Keef and Red have become frequent collaborators.
In response, Kayla shared images with Sosa, and kicking off the drama, which Red responded “How I taste?”
The two then shared images of moments with Chief Keef, seemingly right after each other as he was in the same clothes. Kayla B also shared intimate moments with Keef writing, “First one to get pregnant wins.”

Chief Keef is a polarizing figure. He’s considered by many to be one of the most influential rappers of the 2010s. He also has encountered legal problems for the entirety of his career. Chief Keef is unapologetic about who he is, and that’s part of why fans have continued to rock with his music. The rapper’s recent political statements, however, have rubbed those same fans the wrong way. Keef posted a photo of him standing at a podium. He tweeted “Trump 2024” alongside the photo. Bizarrely, the rapper claimed that his account was hacked mere hours later.
Chief Keef took to Instagram to alert his fans about the hack. “Twitter is hacked,” he wrote over a black background. “Management.” The timing of the hack is strange, especially given that the statement about the hack does not address what the hacker posted. It’s unclear if the “Trump 2024” tweet is being laid at the feet of the hacker, or something Chief Keef claims. This is not, however, the first time the rapper has publicly discussed Donald Trump. Following Trump’s arrest in August 2023, Chief Keef posted an edit of the former President throwing up gang signs.
The rapper proceeded to praise Trump, and claim that he will do well in prison. “Nah my boy in dat b*tch bangin on dem folks,” he wrote over the photoshopped image. “I know whatever deck he on he good in the hood for sure he finna run the prison. That boy finna be eating like a MF all da Blacks finna have my boy back.” This was a far cry from the confusion Chief Keef expressed over Trump in 2018. The Windy City legend was asked what he thought about Kanye West’s endorsement of Trump, and he claimed he didn’t understand the appeal. “I am not a fan of Trump,” the rapper told Complex. “I don’t understand that connection, but Kanye does what he wants.”
Chief Keef is close with another pro-Trump rapper, Sexyy Red. Red explained her political stance during a recent appearance on the podcast This Weekend. “I like Trump,” she stated. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.” Chief Keef has not officially gone on record as being a Trump supporter prior to his recent tweet. Given the claim that his account was hacked, though, it remains to be seen whether the tweet came from the rapper himself. We will have to wait and see what Keef has to say.
