Carmelo Anthony Calls Out Drake For Feuding With DeMar DeRozan

Carmelo Anthony has called out Drake for his behavior during the Toronto Raptors game against the Sacramento Kings, during which he dissed DeMar DeRozan on the broadcast. “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and take it down myself,” Drake said during the game. Anthony discussed the comments on the latest episode of 7PM in Brooklyn, alongside Rudy Gay.

“I think Drake was hurt a little bit because of the relationship he built with DeMar in Toronto,” Melo said, as caught by Billboard. “Representing the 6, Raptors — you know that was a lot of connection with those two. He’s a Raptor for life from a basketball standpoint. Yes, that jersey should be going up.” Gay then chimed in to label the move from Drake “wack.”

“Drake did a lot when he said I’ma go up there and take it down. That part is a lot,” Anthony continued, while also admitting that he understood why Drake was upset. “Those are shots. You my man, we in the crib, we hanging, we building the 6 up. From that standpoint, that would f–k me up too.” Melo and Gay both agreed that Drake and DeRozan should’ve handled the beef privately.

Carmelo Anthony & Rudy Gay Weigh In

Drake has been upset with DeRozan since the former Raptors star appeared at Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out in Los Angeles, earlier this year. He also made a cameo in the music video for “Not Like Us,” on which Lamar dissed Drake amid their ongoing feud. At the Kings-Raptors game, Drake labeled DeRozan a “goof.” Check out Carmelo Anthony and Rudy Gay’s full discussion about Drake and DeMar DeRozan below.

G-Eazy Recalls Surprise Dinner With JAY-Z: “It Was Life-Changing”

G-Eazy says that he has experience regarding the viral “Dinner With Jay-Z Or $500k” debate that’s been going on over the internet for a number of years. Speaking with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero for the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, G-Eazy recalled how one of his managers set up a surprise dinner with the legendary rapper unbeknownst to him.

“I’m so locked in because I can taste it, I can feel it. I’m on the cusp of… I know what I’m sitting on and I’m locked in,” he said. “I’m in New York and I’m at Quad [Studios] working and you can’t bother me with anything. Nothing matters besides tunnel vision of this. And I’m in the last week of recording, finishing it and one of my managers, who’s a Jedi master, a legend in this industry, Gee Roberson goes like, ‘I’m pulling up. We’re going to dinner.’”

“I still don’t know where we’re going or why the dinner,” he continued. “I’m not in New York to have dinner. I’m here to finish this. We’re going and the whole drive there, I’m like, ‘Brother, how are you going to tell me what?’ We get to the spot and the hostess says, ‘Can I help you?” And [Roberson] goes, ‘Yeah, we’re at Shawn Carter’s table.’ I’m like, ‘Dog, the f*ck?’ I sit down and it’s like [Jay-Z’s] in the corner and he just looks up at me and he’s like, ‘How’d you get here? What’s your story?’ I started panicking. But then we just got into the convo and it was a life-changing kind of evening.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Former NBA Guard Raymond Felton Says Carmelo Anthony Was Greater Scorer Than LeBron, Durant and Jordan

carmelo anthony

Former NBA guard Raymond Felton, a long-time teammate of NBA future hall of famer Carmelo Anthony, claims Melo is the greatest scorer he’s ever seen and even better than the biggest names in the scoring GOAT conversation.

In a recent appearance on the Run Your Race podcast, Felton proclaimed Anthony was more of a pure scorer than his Airness himself, Michael Jordan, and King James, Kobe, or T-Mac Tracy McGrady, who’s often in the conversation.

“That dude, just the way he can score, how easy it is for him, I don’t know nobody who’s better, to be honest with you. I’m talking Tracy McGrady, I’m talking about MJ, I’m talking about Kobe, LeBron, all these guys. The way he used to score at every level, I don’t know nobody who’s better, for real,” Felton said.

“Post-up, got footwork, midrange is impeccable, shoot the three, athletic, can dunk on you, get to the basket, had handles like a point guard. I’m just saying – whatever you want, he can give to you,” Felton went on to say. “Whatever you want. ‘If you want just midrange all game, I got you. You want me to post you up? I got you. You want me to shoot the three? I got you.’”

Get this: When he was asked if Anthony could be compared to or even overtake Kevin “KD” Durant, Felton said Durant was no match for Melo’s game in the post.

Felton concluded with more on the topic … “I haven’t seen KD go off in the post like I’ve seen Melo go off in the post. Can KD score? For sure. Good gracious. That man can score easily. He scores easily for him to be 7-feet. They keep saying 6’11. That man ain’t 6’11. That man 7-feet, 7’1. That man [is] tall. But Melo, I’ve seen Melo score everywhere. I haven’t seen KD just get somebody in the post and I’m just gonna do you dirty, just post the whole game. I’ve seen Melo do that,”

I mean, he’s saying a lot, but how wrong is he? If at all. It’s sure a debate. Melo was one of the greatest scorers of all time, but better than KD, Kobe, MJ, and the reigning all-time scoring champion, LeBron James? Sheesh. That’s a tall order. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Joe Budden Theorizes Why Infamous Def Jam Video Game Hasn’t Been Remade

Joe Budden believes corporate greed as well as other financial issues are getting in the way of a reboot of the iconic Def Jam Vendetta video game. He explained his take on the lack of an update for the 2003 game during a discussion with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero on their podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn.

“I’m not involved in those talks but I imagine that would be the hold up,” Budden explained. “Gaming is big. If the business is right, we should definitely do that. Music should have more of a presence in the video game world outside of n****s just going round your house for a 2K party or whatever.”

He further said: “It seems like they’re trying to redline this sh*t and keep it to themselves. If they gonna do that, then f*ck ’em, I’m not with it. But if they’re down to come talk [business]… They gotta get it right.” Budden isn’t the only rapper who appeared in the original game that put forth a theory as to why a new version hasn’t been made. Ice-T, who appeared in its sequel, Def Jam: Fight For NY, wrote on Twitter that artists weren’t compensated fairly for the originals and this time around, things would have to be different. “Here’s the BIG problem.. I don’t think they paid ANY of us ANYTHING to be in that original game…,” he previously said. “I know I didn’t get any type of substantial money. It was a situation where you didn’t want to be left OUT of the game. Well….. Yesterday’s price is not Today’s price..!”

George Karl Reignites Carmelo Anthony Beef

George Karl has suddenly reignited his beef with Carmelo Anthony. “Hey @carmeloanthony let’s not do this. You’re telling stories that are 20 years old. Let’s move fwd 💪. And u were overrated and u wish your game was as efficient as Detlef’s. 😆,” Karl wrote on X. He was responding to a clip in which Melo was reflecting on his time in Denver. Specifically, Melo was talking about Karl’s first impression on the team ahead of a revenge game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Of course, Karl and Melo shared one of the more famous beefs in NBA history. What should have been a stellar coach-player tandem was marred by sniping and in-fighting. Karl’s style didn’t mesh with Melo and Melo’s ego rubbed Karl the wrong way. Despite on-court success, the two were now far from clashing with one another. It’s widely believed that Melo’s exit from Denver was in part due to no longer being able to tolerate Karl. Their shared time in Denver is one of the great “what ifs” of both Nuggets and NBA history.

Carmelo Anthony Shades Nuggets For Giving Jokic His Jersey Number

However, it’s not the first time in recent months that Melo has taken shots at his former team. “When you think of 15 in Denver now, to this generation, you thinking Joker. I’m like, ‘F-ck is going on? 15?’” Melo told the 7am in Brooklyn podcast. Furthermore, Melo called the move “petty”.

Melo spent eight years in Denver to begin his NBA career. However, after a string of playoff misses and one-and-done first-round exits, Melo announced that he would be exploring free agency when his contract expired in 2011. However, rather than let him walk, the Nuggets traded Melo to the Knicks. Before coming to the NBA, Jokic also wore No. 15 in Serbia. In the years since, Melo has been more and more open about his dissatisfaction with his time in Denver. Given the talent on that early 2000s Nuggets team, it was likely his best chance at a ring.
