Cardi B Says She Will Enjoy Her Summer: ‘NO Album This Year’

Cardi B Delivers New Video for "Enough (Miami)"

If you were looking for Cardi B’s album this summer, stop looking. Cardi announced her 2024 plans and new music is not part of them.

Interacting with fans online, Cardi revealed she agreed with a fan who stated she should pull back from social media platforms due to feeling “unappreciated” for online interactions.

Then she dropped the reveal: “Anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year .. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”

Just as a note, Invasion of Privacy dropped in 2018. You can see Cardi’s messages below courtesy of Hip-HopDX.

Last month, Missy Elliott encouraged Cardi B to let her album fly. Hitting X, Missy also encouraged Cardi to experiment as Bardi said she was nervous but trusting her ears.

“Yeup!!! I’m a little nervous… but I don’t care! I’m liking doing things that my ears want to listen to and reflecting the moods I been in. It feels good,” she said.

Cardi’s last single, “Enough (Miami),” cracked into the top 10 at No. 9. The record, which fans have been anticipating to hear new music from the Bronx emcee, marked Cardi’s 12th entry into the Top 10. The single scored nearly 15 million streams and 8.8 million radio audience impressions.

SOURCE SPORTS: [WATCH] Busta Rhymes Throws First Pitch In Citi Field As Mets Defeat Braves 4-3

Yesterday(May 12), Hip Hop living legend Busta Rhymes threw the ceremonial first pitch for the game between the New York Mets and the visiting Atlanta Braves at Citi Field in Queens. “The Dragon” seemed pretty confident during his warm up pitches before actually taking the mound and his above average pitch may have just been the charm as the Mets edged Atlanta in the 9th inning, winning the game 4-3.

The Mets managed to avoid a three-game sweep by Atlanta in their Mother’s Day win, due largely to a walk-off, two run homer from center fielder Brandon Nimmo in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the win for New York. Nimmo, who left after four innings in Saturday’s 4-1 loss due to a tight right intercostal muscle, entered as a pinch runner for DJ Stewart in the seventh inning on Sunday.

The Mets have now won for just the seventh time in 19 games, while the Braves’ four-game winning streak has just ended.

Atlanta broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the eighth inning when Marcell Ozuna brought in his second RBI single of the night and the Mets went down in order in the bottom of the eighth before coming back in the ninth against reliever A.J. Minter (5-3). Jeff McNeil legged out a bunt single and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Tomas Nido. Nimmo then hit a 3-2 pitch beyond the fence in right-center field for his second career walk-off homer for the W.

It’s utterly bonkers to think that this is the case but, despite Missy Eliott‘s status as one of the undisputed GOATs of the rap world, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee has not had her own headlining tour in nearly two decades. That’s about to change, though, as the Virginia Beach legend has just announced her first-ever headlining tour, Out Of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience, which kicks off on Independence Day and will be supported by fellow groundbreaker Busta Rhymes (replacing his canceled Blockbusta Tour), frequent collaborator Ciara, and of course, her longtime production partner Timbaland.

Today In Hip Hop History: Busta Rhymes Dropped His Debut Album ‘The Coming’ 28 Years Ago

busta rhymes

On this date in 1996, Busta Rhymes did the inevitable and released his highly anticipated solo album The Coming on Elektra Records.

Even though the Leaders Of The New School were a celebrated group within the culture, it was always suggested that Busta drop a solo project minus LONS. With production form the likes of Easy Mo Bee, DJ Scratch and even Busta Buss himself, The Coming served as a introductory project of what was to come from the one of the greatest lyricists in the game.Appearance from the likes of the late Notorious B.I.G., A Tribe Called Quest(who first introduced Busta on “Scenario”), Heave d and The Boyz and Mary J. Blige.

The 13 track full length studio album was chock full of hits including “Everything Remains Raw”, the Zhane-powered “It’s A Party” and the album’s lead single “Woo Hah!! Got You All In Check”. This album also introduces Busta’s own “Flipmode Squad” consisting of Lord Have Mercy, Rampage, Rah Digga and Spliff Star.

Salute to Busta on his premiere project; definitely an important piece of Hip Hop history!
