Burna Boy Will Once Again Headline Afro Nation In Portugal, This Time With 50 Cent
Portugal appears to be the next big festival destination. The same day Rolling Loud announced the lineup for its return to the Iberian Peninsula, Afro Nation — the yin to RL’s yang, truly — has also announced its own lineup featuring headliners Burna Boy, 50 Cent, and Booba (for the uninitiated, the latter is a French rapper from Paris).
In addition to those names, rising acts diaspora like Asake, Fireboy DML, Black Sherif, and Ms. Banks are billed to appear, along with an impressive variety of sounds from Aya Nakamura, Tayc, Oxlade, Tyla, and Camidoh. South African DJ Uncle Waffles will also play a set ahead of Scorpion Kings’ headlining dance set on the amapiano-dedicated Piano People stage including Musa Keys, Daliwonga, Sha Sha, and Nicky Summers.

Burna Boy And WizKid Set To Headline Inaugural Afro Nation Festival In Miami
Afrobeats music (which includes the genres highlife, juju, fuji, kwaito, amapiano, and Afropop) continues to dominate the global music market alongside Latin Urbano. In fact, some of today’s biggest acts in the United States hail from outside of its boundaries. While Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa came together to bring the crown and music joy of the states, rap music, to West Africa, promoters are returning the favor.
The organizers behind the beloved festival, Afro Nation, are bringing the cultural event to the United States on May 27 and 28 in Miami, Florida. The two-day event will be held at loanDepot park. Headlining the inaugural show are none other than Afrobeat powerhouses Burna Boy and Wizkid, amongst many other artists representing the diaspora. Although this is the first time the festival has touched American soil, this isn’t the first time the Nigerian artists have shared a stage.
Burna Boy will headline on day one of the festival (May 27). In contrast, Wizkid will headline day two (May 28).
Other notable acts on the lineup include dancehall legend Beenie Man, Rema and Asake, CKay, BNXN, and Black Sherif, Franglish.
General tickets go on sale on Friday, January 13, at 1 pm ET. Click here to purchase.

Who Are The Rumored Headliners For Coachella 2023?
Celebrities, reality TV stars, and social media influencers’ favorite annual music event, Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, is just months away. This year’s multi-day celebration of arts and culture is locked in for the second (April 14 to 16) and third weekend (April 21 to 23) of April. At the same time, the festival’s location is no surprise. Each year, it is held on the grounds of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The headliners are always a fun guessing game for music lovers. As festival goers financially prepare themselves for the steep ticket price, whispers of this year’s headliners have begun to make the rounds on social media.
In 2021, Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett told Los Angeles Times that he’d love to have Frank Ocean return as a headliner, given that his 2020 return to the festival was canceled due to COVID. Tollett and Ocean have since remained tight-lipped about his potential resurgence. However, with anticipation building for the festival, social media users have begun circulating a flyer of Coachella’s entire lineup.
The image has not been authenticated and should only be treated as speculation; fans are excited at the possibility of seeing Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and Frank Ocean headlining the first weekend. Other notable acts on the graphic include Jack Harlow, Skrillex, and Lil Durk, as well as international acts Blackpink, Rosalía, Burna Boy, and Tems.

Burna Boy Promotes Living Life To The Fullest In His Joyous ‘It’s Plenty’ Video
Burna Boy continues to promote his new album, Love, Damini, with a new video for “It’s Plenty.” Opening with footage from his tour, on which he’s been filling up venues and packing festival stages, the video follows the self-proclaimed African Giant from the barbershop to his private plane to the streets of Jamaica, where a Carnival celebration is going in full force.
Burna Boy’s next festival appearance will be at the 2022 Lost In Riddim Afrobeats Music Festival in East San Jose on the weekend of Nigerian Independence Day, October 1st and 2nd. He’s headlining alongside Wizkid and Davido, presiding over a massive lineup that runs the gamut of the African diaspora, from Afrobeats to dancehall to grime.
Continuing his Love, Damini rollout, Burna Boy put in an appearance at 30 Rock in New York City to perform the album’s standout track “Last Last” on The Tonight Show. He’s also put out vibrant videos for the singles “Vanilla” and “For My Hand” with Ed Sheeran, as well as sold-out a show at the Madison Square Garden — becoming the first Nigerian artist to headline a show there in the process.

Burna Boy Delivers A Jazzy Performance Of ‘Last Last’ On ‘Fallon’
Burna Boy‘s hit single “Last Last” proved to be one of the buzziest songs of the past summer. Since its release, the song has reached the top of Billboard‘s Afrobeats Songs chart and has pulled in over and its video has pulled in over 75 million streams on YouTube.
Last night, Burna visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed the song accompanied by live instrumentalists. Throughout the performance, Burna’s vocals maintain the song’s Afrobeats roots, while the keyboardists, drummers, and saxophonists give the song a jazzy feel.
Burna Boy is often credited for helping popularize Afrobeats music in the United States. He’s accomplished several incredible feats, including selling out Madison Square Garden. While he dreams of playing many more iconic venues in his career, he revealed to Billboard that he also has several unconventional ideas for music performances.
“My dream venues, other than all the stadiums in the world, are unorthodox,” Burna said, “like a theme park or a f*cking train station. A concert in a big-ass train station, and there’s no trains, and the whole tracks are filled with people. I just want to do weird sh*t like that for my own pleasure.”
