Flavor Flav Defends Jelly Roll After The Country Star Steps Away From Social Media

It’s been a strange few years for rapper turned country star Jelly Roll. In 2022 his song “Son Of A Sinner” broke him into the country music mainstream and it’s been a parade of hits ever since. He scored a pair of absolute smashes with “Need A Favor” and the Lainey Wilson-featuring “Save Me.” He also teamed up with Jessie Murph for yet another huge chart hit in the song “Wild Ones.” That resulted in a myriad of bizarre friends and allies while included Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav. But it hasn’t been all love for the singer despite being praised quite a bit for an acceptance speech he delivered earlier this year.

The crossover superstar has also been subject to quite a bit of bullying, at least according to his wife. She has a podcast where she recently revealed that Jelly Roll was stepping away from social media. The reason behind the choice has to do with the constant bulling he faced over his weight. “My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him,” she says during a recent episode. The comments sparked yet another discussion about the way that celebrities interact with both their fans and haters on social media. But now Flavor Flav has weighed in on the situation, standing up for Jelly Roll in pretty certain terms. Check out what he had to say below.

Boosie Badazz Claims He’s Being Bullied Over LGBTQ+ Community Criticism

Boosie Badazz is no stranger to airing his controversial opinions on the internet, and evidently, it earns him quite a bit of backlash. He just recently blasted The Color Purple for its LGBTQ+ themes, which resulted in a full-blown Twitter war with trans actress Ts Madison. Late last year, he even revealed that he once turned down $250K to perform at an LGBTQ+ event. He’s also gone off on queer hitmaker Lil Nas X, and more.

The Louisiana-born performer took to Instagram Live recently to speak on some of the pushback he’s received for his take on the LGBTQ+ community. He calls it nothing short of “bullying.” Apparently, users have been speculating that his strong stance could indicate that he himself is part of the community, and simply keeping it under wraps. According to Boosie, however, he’s just trying to stick up for straight people, which he thinks makes him a target.

Despite Boosie’s ongoing criticism of the LGBTQ+ community, he insists that he’s not homophobic. “People have to understand that it’s not the same stroke for the same folk,” he said on My Expert Opinion last year. “I trust gay people more than I trust regular people.” What do you think of Boosie Badazz’s response to the backlash he’s received for his controversial comments? Nicki Minaj Dismisses “Bully” Backlash

Nicki Minaj’s new interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music held so much compelling conversation and so many takeaways that we’re still parsing through its best moments. Moreover, they discussed her new album Pink Friday 2, her place in the rap game, her personal growth and current state, and much more. In addition, they also spoke on common criticism that the rapper is a “bully” for demeaning her peers, something that she was quick to laugh off. It’s a bit of an ironic reaction for an accused bully to tease folks as to why she would care about such a thing, but that’s just Roman being Roman.

“You’re just getting Nicki when you hear the music,” Nicki Minaj told the journalist and commentator during their sit-down. “The other stuff is work and some of it is play. I mean, let’s face it. This is my f***ing job. I have to have some sort of fun. If it means making fun of these h*es– why the f**k not? The thing is though, I’ve realized it’s like a movie. They’ve made me the bad guy so I’ve welcomed the challenge. You know why? It’s because I know I can accept that challenge. None of them can. None.”

The conversation around her “bully” backlash starts at around the 8:30 minute mark.

Furthermore, she also spoke on her acclaim in the rap game and how it differs to the critical leniency male rappers receive. “[It] always has mattered to me that, whether you knew how I look, whether you knew where I was from, whether you knew if I was a male, female, whatever, all that mattered to me was that, ‘Are they liking my raps?’” Nicki Minaj expressed. “And somewhere along the line, that shifted, and it’s everyone’s fault, as a whole, as our culture. It’s *nsane to go backwards. And I’m keeping it a thousand, because when I think about the people who inspired me, I can still pull from them right now. That’s why Biggie, rest in peace, he seems to always make his way on my projects. And I didn’t even realize that. You know what I’m saying?

“So thank God I had those kinds of people that, right now, I can still pull inspiration from them when I don’t have anything to pull from,” she continued. “Whether it’s Biggie, whether it’s Jay, whether it’s Foxy, whether it’s Wayne, whether it’s Lauryn Hill. Because they were so great, I don’t care about any of Biggie Smalls’ videos or Lauryn Hill’s videos. I care about the music. When I was riding on the trains to school, I had my CD player and my headphones. I didn’t give a s**t about what any of them looked like. And it kind of has become a little whatever.” For more news and the latest updates on Nicki Minaj, keep checking in with HNHH.

Chris Paul Says His Daughter Is Bullied For His Lack Of A Ring

Chris Paul has had a storied basketball career. After a standout career at Wake Forest, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in his freshman year, Paul was drafted fourth overall in 2005 by the New Orleans Hornets. Paul had a slow and steady start to this career. He won Rookie of the Year on a bad Hornets team. However, his rise and prime started in 2008. He earned his first of 12 All-Star appearances and a place on the All-NBA First Team. However, after the NBA nixed a trade that would have sent Paul to the Hornets in 2011, he was instead dealt to the Clippers. His time in LA was marked with six All-NBA Defensive First Team and three more All-NBA First Team awards.

Paul was traded to the Rockets in 2017, where he made his first-ever Conference Finals appearance. However, as the Rockets’ star faded, Paul was moved to Oklahoma City. After a strong season with the Thunder, he was dealt once again to the Suns. However, this proved to be a career resurgence for CP3, as he helped the Sun reach the Finals. However, despite the rising star of the Suns, Paul is yet to secure an NBA ring. What’s more, this is now apparently affecting his daughter.

Chris Paul Opens Up On The Pivot

Speaking on The Pivot, Paul talked about how his lack of an NBA ring is now affecting his family. “[My daughter] at the age now where at school kids talk crazy to her. She had a little boy at school that said some reckless stuff to her was like, ‘Your daddy ain’t never gon’ win no championship,” Paul said. For context, Paul’s daughter Camryn is 10 years old so that’s one hell of an emboldened classmate. However, it’s clear that Paul is deeply affected by his daughter becoming the target of his haters, just because he hasn’t won a ring.

This all comes at a time of uncertainty for Paul and the Suns. New franchise owner Mat Ishiba is firmly in a win-now mode, come hell or high water. It’s clear that 2023 was meant to be the championship year. The most notable evidence of this was swinging a massive trade for Kevin Durant. However, that championship did not materialize and now the Suns are in a tough position. At the time of writing, the most recent rumored, per ESPN‘s Tim McMahon, is that Paul will likely be staying on the Suns. This supersedes earlier rumors that Paul would likely be traded. However, while bullying is of course unacceptable, the best way for his daughter to get back at the shit-talking fifth-grader would be to flex a ring.
