Bronny James Torn Apart By Anonymous NBA GM & Scout After Entering Draft: “He Should Go Back To School”

Bronny James has had all eyes on him ever since he announced he would be heading to USC and even during high school. However, the support for LeBron’s oldest son seems to be dwindling by the second, especially since he announced he would be entering the NBA Draft. It was a pretty shocking report considering how much he struggled offensively (4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists). But he does have some strong defensive prowess, so perhaps that was enough for him to test his luck. He is able to stay in school if things do not play out and that seems to be the trajectory he is on right now. According to TMZ Sports and The Ringer, teams might want to skip on Bronny James in the upcoming draft.

“Bronny is nowhere near ready. He should go back to school to develop at his own pace or he risks getting lost in the shuffle, whether or not he’s playing with his dad.” Those were the words on anonymous NBA general manager to The Ringer this morning. Kevin O’Connor interviewed one GM, a front office executive, and a scout from separate organizations to get a larger gauge on Bronny and if skills could translate to the big leagues.

This NBA GM Kept It A Buck On Bronny James’ Draft Stock

There is some optimism for him, as he is built and in great physical condition even with his scary heart issue before the season began. But the shooting percentages are a major concern. “Bronny is an undersized non-shooting guard. The shot looks good but doesn’t go in. Those guys scare me the most,” the scout said. “It’s either lack of touch or mental, and either way those take years to correct.” At the moment, Bronny is not on the 2024 Draft board and is projected to be a second round look in 2025.

What are your thoughts on this anonymous NBA GM saying Bronny is not ready for the NBA? Do you see him being successful at the pro level if he does enter the draft, why or why not? Bronny James Declares For NBA Draft

Bronny James is easily one of the most hyped up players in college basketball, even if his stats aren’t reflective of the media coverage. Overall, his first season with USC was a difficult one. While he was solid on defense, he didn’t do much offensively. However, he did have a difficult road to get in the lineup considering he had a cardiac arrest in the offseason. Either way, fans have been a bit concerned about his development. Even LeBron had to step back at one point and tell people to cut his kid some slack.

Recently, a rumor circulated that Bronny would be entering the transfer portal and leaving USC. Today, Bronny revealed that he was actually making a much more crucial decision. The son of LeBron James is now entering the NBA Draft. Furthermore, he is going to maintain his college eligibility, just in case no one wants to take him. Lastly, he will also enter the transfer portal for good measure. No matter what, he has played his final game for the Trojans.

Bronny James Has Made His Decision

Now, it will become an interesting exercise to see who wants to take Bronny in the draft. There is a high chance he doesn’t even get drafted. However, if a team thinks they can lure LeBron to their franchise, then they just might do it. There are plenty of teams that could use a guy like LeBron, however, he is close to 40, which makes him less attractive. Either way, it is going to be an interesting next few months. Or, it could all simply be a nothing burger. Hopefully, Bronny is able to develop in a way that unlocks his full potential.

Let us know what you think of this decision, in the comments section down below. Do you believe this is a premature decision? Will Bronny end up getting taken by a team? LeBron James Speaks Out As Bronny James Transfer Portal Rumors Run Rampant

LeBron James is easily the most famous basketball parent in the entire world right now. Overall, his son Bronny is a player for USC, and there has been a lot of talk about his skills. Unfortunately, the discourse surrounding Bronny hasn’t been entirely positive as of late. He didn’t have a great season with the Trojans, who failed to make the March Madness tournament. Moreover, Bronny had to deal with a heart attack he suffered prior to the season. It simply wasn’t his year, and his hopes of making the NBA aren’t looking as probable as they once did.

Recently, a rumor surfaced online that Bronny was looking to enter the transfer portal and leave USC after his freshman season. Overall, this was a shocking development for many reasons. After all, Bronny chose USC for the proximity he would have to his family. Not to mention, LeBron wants to play NBA basketball with Bronny at some point, and staying in one place would theoretically be better for his development. Well, after last night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, LeBron spoke on the rumors involving his son.

LeBron James To Guide Bronny

James says he isn’t so sure how this rumor began circulating. He wouldn’t confirm if it was true, but he did not that Bronny has a lot to think about right now. Needless to say, his days at USC could very well be numbered. “I don’t know where it came from,” James said. “But at the end of the day, Bronny’s his own man, he has some tough decisions to make, and when he’s ready to make those decisions, he’ll let us all know, but as his family, we’ll support whatever he does.”

Let us know what you think of these Bronny rumors, in the comments section down below. Do you think he should stay USC or transfer out? Can he still make it to the NBA? Is Bronny James Declaring For The NBA Draft? Rich Paul Gives Update On USC Freshman’s Thinking

Rich Paul has stated that Bronny James’ draft decision will be based on “team interest” and not projected draft position. “I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Paul told ESPN. Furthermore, Paul noted that LeBron James’ long-stated desire to play with his son will not factor into the decision. However, Paul did note that LeBron would be “head over heels” if it happened “organically”. This comment also appeared to put to bed the idea that LeBron would leave the Lakers to play with Bronny.

It has been a less-than-ideal season for Bronny James. Entering college as a top-15 recruit, the start of his season was derailed by a cardiac arrest suffered last July. While that congenital defect has reportedly been addressed, Bronny will still have to get clearance from the NBA’s Fitness to Play panel. Additionally, Bronny has simply not played like an NBA prospect. He has averaged 5/2.8/2.4 a game for a Trojans team that has fallen well short of expectations. Projected to finish second in the Pac-12, USC is second-last in the division with two games left on the schedule.

Austin Rivers And Stephen Jackson Feud Over Bronny James

Of course, Bronny’s NBA fit remains a heated point of discussion. Stephen Jackson took offense to Austin Rivers’ rationale behind why LeBron and Bronny shouldn’t play on the same team if Bronny makes the move to the NBA. “Difference is you trash, Bronny not. You can’t compare to him scrub. And your daddy not LeBron. Shut up,” Jackson wrote in the comments on an Instagram post reporting Rivers’ original comments. Rivers later replied to the former NBA player. “All smiles…I didn’t even have to fight my own battles with ignorance, yall corrected it for me!! Thank you for not siding with delusion. Have a blessed day,” Rivers wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

However, Jackson’s reaction was bizarre given that Rivers had been arguing that Bronny doesn’t need the added obstacle of playing in his father’s shadow. “I don’t want to see Bronny play with [LeBron]… Him getting drafted & playing with his dad, I don’t want that negativity to come his way. He doesn’t deserve it… [He needs to] play somewhere where he can niche out his own identity,” Rivers told NBA Today.

LeBron James Reacts To Bronny Falling Out Of Latest Mock Draft: “Let The Kid Be A Kid And Enjoy College Basketball”

LeBron James has every right to be supportive of his son Bronny, obviously. However, his latest reaction to a recent tweet has some pulling out his old receipts. An X (Twitter) account NBACentral sent out information on LBJ’s son’s latest draft stock and it is not looking good for the USC product. ESPN has removed the 19 year-old from the 2024 mock draft and is now slated to be selected in 2025. The Los Angeles Laker has been hyping up his oldest kid, but things just have not panned out yet. However, Lebron saw Bronny’s mock draft tweet and his reaction is causing a stir on the platform.

It appears his fiery message has been deleted, but DJ Akademiks was able to snag a screenshot of it. “Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do.” LeBron continues, “If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

James did not stop there though. He took the opportunity to send a motivational message to the kids looking to make it to the league. He essentially said the same thing, to work hard and discredit the mock drafts. He wants others to “talk REAL BASKETBALL.” Unfortunately, fans are not going to let this slide as LeBron sent out a tweet that said, “Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today. S*** lightweight hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What are your thoughts on LeBron James’ reaction to Bronny’s draft stock? Do you think he responded in the right way after his previous comments? Do you think he will eventually be an NBA player? If so, what type of role will he have, rotational piece, star, MVP candidate? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Bronny James Hits Three In Front Of Booing Crowd, But Fans Still Call Cap On His Skill

Bronny James opened USC’s recent game against Cal with a three-pointer hit at the top of the arc. Furthermore, Bronny hit the shot despite prominent boos ringing out at Haas Pavillion. However, while Bronny’s diehard supporters claimed that Bronny was proving his god-like hype, other hoop fans weren’t as impressed. Bronny would go on to make just one other basket during the game, finishing with 5 points and 5 rebounds as USC lost 83-77. LeBron James, Bronny’s father, was in attendance for the game and happily embraced his song after the OT loss. Bronny played 28 minutes but continued to be a non-factor for the Trojans as they dropped to 3-9 in conference play and dead last in the Pac-12. USC was projected to finish 2nd in the preseason media poll.

While the life-changing circumstances of Bronny’s cardiac arrest last July must be considered, the son of one of basketball’s greatest players is simply not living up to the hype. He is currently averaging 5.8/3.0/2.5 a game and has completely fallen out of most NBA mock drafts. However, Bronny still commands a rabid fanbase who believe that he is poised to take over from his father in the NBA, despite the subpar basketball that he is playing.

Austin Rivers And Stephen Jackson Feud About Bronny James

Meanwhile, the topic of Bronny recently sparked a feud between Austin Rivers and Stephen Jackson. Jackson called Rivers “trash” and “a scrub” after Rivers spoke about Bronny on ESPN. It was a bizarre reaction given that Rivers’ point was that Bronny and LeBron shouldn’t play together so that Bronny had the chance to forge his own legacy in the NBA. “I don’t want to see Bronny play with [LeBron]… Him getting drafted & playing with his dad, I don’t want that negativity to come his way. He doesn’t deserve it… [He needs to] play somewhere where he can niche out his own identity,” Rivers told NBA Today.

Later, Rivers would respond to Jackson on X, formerly Twitter. “All smiles…I didn’t even have to fight my own battles with ignorance, yall corrected it for me!! Thank you for not siding with delusion. Have a blessed day,” Rivers wrote.

Austin Rivers Responds To Stephen Jackson Rant

Austin Rivers has responded to Stephen Jackon’s heated reaction to his comments on ESPN about Bronny James. “All smiles…I didn’t even have to fight my own battles with ignorance, yall corrected it for me!! Bronny James Struggles Despite Stephen Jackson Support

Furthermore, despite Jackson’s passionate defense, Bronny has not exactly been living up to expectations at the college level. While his sidelining due to a congenital heart issue must be acknowledged, Bronny has struggled to elevate his game. Bronny is currently averaging 5.9/2.9/2.6 off the bench for a floundering USC squad. His draft projection has gone from late first-round to being omitted from many mock drafts entirely. As much as Jackson may like Bronny, there is not a lot going on game nights to back up the defense.

It’s widely expected that if Bronny James doesn’t become a Laker this summer, LeBron will decline his player option year and follow his son to a new team. Prior to Bronny’s struggles at USC, one potentially floated destination was being drafted by Atlanta. One person who seemed excited by this was Hawks star Trae Young. Last summer, in response to an NBA Central post hypothesizing a LeBron-Bronny partnership on the Hawks, Young tweeted “Talk soon” in response. This immediately set off the rumor mill that the Hawks might push for a LeBron trade.

Of course, LeBron hasn’t helped quiet the rumors. Following a Lakers loss last week, LeBron posted an hourglass emoji to social media.

Bronny James Trolled For Wild Stat Line Versus UCLA

Bronny James has been widely mocked online after dropping a wild stat line for USC against UCLA. Bronny went 0-for-3 on the night, picking up his two total points from a pair of free throws. He also added one block…and one technical foul from said block. Bronny was called for the tech after yelling “Give me that sh-t” after putting down the monster block.

People were quick to roast Bronny for the performance as he continues to fall short of the hype that came with his freshman year with the Trojans. This is especially as USC, projected to finished second in the Pac-12 this season, are dead last in the conference with a 2-7 Pac-12 record. The team is 8-12 overall and have lost their last five games.

Lebron James Watches Bronny’s USC Game While Doing Media Interviews

Despite how he plays, Bronny can be secure in the knowledge that his dad will always be watching. LeBron James was a little more distracted than usual during his post-game media interviews on January 17 as he tried to watch his son Bronny take on Arizona at the same time. The first indication that James was not giving the media his full attention was when he rebuffed scrum reporters in the tunnel saying he had to go watch Bronny. While James did fulfill his media obligations, he would often look past the reporters to focus on the screen showing the USC game.

However, he focused a little more when one reporter asked him whether it was tougher to lose with the Lakers or watch Bronny and USC struggle. “Watching college basketball alone is tough. Then you add my son in there, it’s even … yeah, yeah, cause I’m … it’s hard to watch. It’s hard to watch. Yeah, I’m a dad, but also, love the game of basketball and college basketball, just, it’s like ten people in the paint at the same time. It’s very hard at times to watch. But USC’s a great program, Arizona’s a great program, you get a good opportunity to watch some good basketball in this game,” James said.
