Deion Sanders Defends Sean Payton And The Broncos

Deion Sanders has come to the defense of Sean Payton and the ailing Denver Broncos. “Hey, leave my guy alone. Leave my guy alone. I love the Broncos. I love their coach, and Sean Payton’s my guy. He’s going to get it right, I promise you that,” Sanders told the media this week. Payton is under increasing pressure in Denver following a 0-3 start and their recent 70-20 loss to the Dolphins. Fans have already begun to call for the veteran coach’s head. Furthermore, Payton publicly refused to fire defensive co-ordinator Vance Joseph despite the 70-point drubbing this past weekend.

However, Sanders is no stranger to rough losses himself. This past weekend, the wheels came off the Colorado hype train as they were blown out of the water 42-6. While people have not called for Sanders to be fired, the glow has substantially dimmed. Fans are bracing themselves for another rough weekend as the now unranked Colorado welcome #8 USC to Folsom Field.

Stephen A. And Shannon Sharpe Debate Sanders

Meanwhile, Colorado’s first loss was a major topic for Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on First Take this week. The pair were largely in agreement that Oregon exposed a lot of the flaws in this current Colorado squad. That led them to advise that Sanders focus on recruiting linemen for both sides of the ball. Furthermore, both of them agreed that there was nothing wrong with the trash talk that Oregon coach Dan Lanning had been laying down in the run-up to the game. Lanning had gotten so heat for some of his comments, such as stating that Colorado hadn’t brought much of note to the Pac-12. While some people saw it as haters hating, others saw it as Lanning speaking facts. Colorado will leave the Pac-12 never having won the conference title and only ever contesting it once.

However, both Smith and Sharpe believe that Colorado will be in a position to beat top teams next year. At the time of writing, Colorado has non-conference games against North Dakota State, Nebraska, and Colorado State. After that slate, they will play their first Big 12 regular season since 2010.

Sean Payton Puts Russell Wilson On Blast For Lack Of Football Focus

Many view Sean Payton as the savior of the Denver Broncos. The veteran head coach came out of retirement to try and fix a Broncos team that hasn’t had a winning season since 2016. While a revolving door at quarterback hasn’t helped that situation, the franchise appears to be cursed after not even bringing in Russell Wilson helped right the ship.

In a comedy of errors that proves satirical writing is dead, the Broncos went 5-12 with Wilson under center in 2022. If that wasn’t bad enough, they didn’t even have the high first-round draft pick that would usually have afforded them because they had traded it to the Seahawks for Wilson. Now Payton has taken the reins and is already bringing his hard-nosed attitude to the Mile High City.

Payton Doesn’t Have Time For Wilson’s Antics

In a recently published ESPN+ profile of Payton, Seth Wickersham revealed that Payton may already be at odds with his new QB. “He told Wilson that to salvage his career he needed to focus less on Russell Inc. “Will you fucking stop kissing all the babies?” he said. “You’re not running for public office.” It’s no secret that Wilson has leaned hard into his off-field ventures in recent years. Who can forget the bizarre and much-mocked Subway commercial? However, it’s clear that Payton, who coached Drew Brees to a Super Bowl, wants Wilson to be a football player first and a brand sponsor second.

Most experts see the Broncos improving on 2022 but not becoming a winning team just yet. For example, Fox Sports has the Broncos winning seven games in year one of the Payton Project. While it’s unlikely that 7-10 would be good enough for the top two in the draft, it might be enough to give the Broncos trade material to go after their QB of the future. The 2024 draft is highlighted by USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye. However, it appears that Payton views the main obstacle as Wilson’s lack of focus on football. How do you think the Broncos are going to do in 2023? Let us know in the comments.

Massive Fan Brawl Breaks Out During 49ers Preseason Game

The San Francisco 49ers evened their preseason record to 1-1 on August 19, securing a 21-20 victory at home against the Denver Broncos. Trey Lance appeared to assuage some of the fears about his ability. The former FCS star threw for 173 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Meanwhile, 7th-round rookie Ronnie Bell put up 114 yards on seven receptions as he fights for a place on the final roster.

On the other side of the field, the Broncos dropped to 0-2 on the preseason. This was despite a strong performance from undrafted running back Jaleel McLaughlin. McLaughlin had 45 yards on the ground with one touchdown. However, McLaughlin also caught a short TD pass from Ben DiNucci. McLaughlin has been described as the “greatest running back you’ve never heard of” after rushing for over 8,000 yards in college. However, the result of the game was overshadowed by the chaos unfolding in the stands.

Brawl Breaks Out At Levi’s Stadium

A major brawl broke out amongst a section of 49ers supporters during the game, quickly devolving into a full-blown fight. Footage from the incident shows fans shoving one another while also throwing closed-fist punches. At one point, a fan is shown to have been knocked unconscious by the ruckus. The man in question was seen bloodied and shaken as stewards tried to help him away from the area.

It’s unknown what caused the fight to break out, and police are yet to announce any arrests. What’s most unusual is that the fight occurred between 49ers supporters. This is opposed to the brawl being between fans of the two teams on the field. Other outlets that the commotion was caused by three rowdy fans and rippled behind those instigators. Fans and security alike could be seen trying to restrain the fighters. Furthermore, it appears that the main confrontation was between a man in a Jerry Rice jersey and a man in a white t-shirt. It is the man in the white t-shirt who was briefly knocked out and later led away bleeding.

Russell Wilson Gets Emotional Thanking Teammates For Their Support

Russell Wilson gave an emotional press conference following the Denver Broncos’ Week 17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Speaking with the press, Wilson thanked his teammates for their recent support on social media.

“It meant the world to me because I give my all every day,” Wilson said of their messages. “I don’t know anything less. I’m grateful for these guys because they work their butts off and for them to have my back means the world to me. Jerry works at his craft every day and Kendall [Hinton], KJ, Tim [Patrick], and Courtland [Sutton], all of those guys do. All I want to do is help this team win and us find a way to do it. I know we’re going to overcome all of those obstacles and I’m not going to blink because I know who I am.”

Among the teammates to stick up for Wilson were Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler.

Jeudy wrote: “I ain’t gonna keep looking at these false statements about my boii russ man, as a teammate who sees the elite work ethic this man has is incomparable. He got an office because he’s committed his life to this game. I never had a teammate who motivate me more then russ.”

“Y’all really trying to bring this man down,” Hamler further added. “Russ Is the most dedicated and hard working teammate I have had. And y’all wanna bring up this to put him under. Man stop it. 3ski a legend in my eyes. I Understand this season isn’t the way we wanted nor anybody wanted.”

Wilson, who joined the Broncos in 2022, is in the midst of the worst year of his career. The former Super Bowl champion has thrown just 13 touchdowns while giving up 10 interceptions through Week 17. The Broncos are currently 4-12 on the season.

Peyton Manning Reveals If He Will Coach The Broncos

Peyton Manning is one of the best football players ever. The Colts and Broncos quarterback was able to win two Super Bowls during his time in the league. Additionally, he broke numerous records while proving himself to be an immense talent.

Overall, Manning has a great mind for football. He still comments on the game through ESPN, and there are plenty of people out there who envision him as a coach. This is especially true when you consider how the Denver Broncos are currently in need of a head coach.

Peyton Manning Clears The Air

Recently, TMZ actually caught up with Manning where they asked him if he would ever coach the team. Overall, Manning is so unenthused about the idea that he said “I don’t think so,” twice. After all, that team seems to be a mess right now, and Manning is right to steer clear.

Just a few days ago, the Broncos decided to part ways with head coach Nathaniel Hackett. After a 4-11 record this season, it was probably a good idea to go this route. At the end of the day, Hackett was no good, and you can’t keep a coach like that for the long term.

Manning is a legend of the game, however, he simply doesn’t have the experience. One could just look at Jeff Saturday in Indianapolis to understand why hiring former players is a bad idea. If they have coaching experience, it’s fine. However, if they don’t have any real pedigree, then it could end up being a complete dumpster fire.

Perhaps one day Manning will go into coaching, although for now, it is not in the cards. Instead, Broncos fans will just have to wait on some sort of potential miracle.

Broncos Fire Nathaniel Hackett As Russell Wilson Struggles

If you are a Broncos fan, then this season has been one from hell. The team was looking good a few months ago when they got Russell Wilson in a trade. However, Wilson has been playing some of the worst football of his career. In fact, one could argue he is one of the worst QBs in the entire league.

Additionally, the team’s head coach Nathaniel Hackett has been awful. This was his first year with the team, and there was hope that he would inject new life into the franchise. Of course, that has not happened, and now, fans are completely fed up with him.

Broncos Make A Change

Yesterday, on Christmas, the Denver Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 51-14. Wilson threw numerous interceptions while Hackett did nothing to help his team’s fortunes. Overall, it was easily the team’s worst game of the entire season.

The Broncos’ front office was so mad that they immediately fired Hackett this morning. In a statement, according to TMZ, team CEO Greg Penner explained the decision.

“Following extensive conversations with George and our ownership group, we determined a new direction will ultimately be in the best interest of the Broncos,” Penner said. “This change was made now out of respect for everyone involved and allows us to immediately begin the search for a new head coach.”

This is probably the right decision, moving forward. As you can see below, the Broncos were a complete laughingstock yesterday. Consequently, a move had to be made.

Antonio Brown Says He And Kanye Are “Extremely Serious” About Buying The Denver Broncos

Antonio Brown and Kanye West

When it was announced that Antonio Brown would be the head of Donda Sports, many were unsure about what would come of a partnership between Ye and the former Buccaneers wide receiver. Now it looks like the two have their eyes set on being owners of the Denver Broncos, and Brown wants people to know that they are extremely serious about doing such.

TMZ caught up with Brown who doubled down on he and Ye’s wish to buy the Broncos. Brown had tweeted about it last month.

“Tell Roger [Goodell] call me, we working on it,” he said. The interviewer then asked if he and Ye were serious about buying the team. “We are extremely serious about it. We working towards it to get it done,” Brown replied.

If the two were to buy the team, they would need to put down $4 billion and would be the first Black people to own an NFL team.

Last month, after being appointed a position at Donda Sports, Brown and Ye began discussing the possibility of buying the Denver Broncos. Brown even tweeted “Donda Sports want to buy @Broncos who with me!”

News of this comes after the Broncos and Seahawks finalized a deal to trade veteran QB, Russell Wilson, to the mile-high city. Wilson even asked throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons for the Seahawks to sign AB to the team. After his dramatic exit from the Buccaneers, AB is now a free agent, but seems to be focusing on other things.
