Brazilian “Alien” Might Actually Be Italian Basketball Player

An explanation for the recent viral video of an “alien” in Brazil might actually be an Italian basketball player. Felipe Motta, who plays for Flamengo, claims that the video of a “tall alien” doing “surveillance” on top of a hill on the island of Ilha do Mel is him during a recent hike. The footage went viral after being posted online. Furthermore, the original poster claimed that it’s “impossible” for people to reach the hill summit the “aliens” were spotted on. The Brazilian government later jumped on the viral video, using it to boost tourism to the island.

As for Motta, he said that people freaking out about his height is nothing new. However, he is taking the new viral fame in stride and joked that he would warn people the next time he went hiking. Despite this, some people have claimed that this isn’t an adequate explanation give there was a second “alien” spotted in the same video as the one that Motta claims to appear in.

Wizards Cut Shoplifting-Accused Player

However, one player who isn’t having such a pleasant time is second-year NBA player Ryan Rollins. The 21-year-old was charged with seven counts of petty larceny for items worth less than $1,000. The Wizards waived Rollins on Monday, before the charges were announced. Rollins, who played college ball at Toledo, was a second-round draft pick by the Warriors in 2022. However, he was part of the trade to the Wizards that brought Jordan Poole to the team.

“We just recently learned of the charges against Ryan. We cannot comment on that matter, or the basis for our roster decisions.” Winger added: “We do take our role very seriously as citizens of the DMV, representatives of our fans and a team our community can be proud of. These are expectations, not aspirations. We’re eager to move forward with our team as constituted and pursue excellence on and off the court,” Monumental Basketball president Michael Winger told The Athletic.

Beyonce Shocks Fans With Surprise Appearance At Film Screening After Party In Brazil

In the comments of almost any major celebrity’s social media post, there’s one specific thing you can expect to see. That’s fans begging their favorite singers and rappers to come to Brazil. It’s among the biggest music-consuming markets in the world but often gets overlooked on tours in favor of North American and European countries. But at least one singer has been listening, Beyonce. She surprised her fans in Brazil by showing up at basically the exact place where she’d be most welcome.

She showed up at the after-party of a screening of her Renaissance concert film. At a club that had been whimsically turned into a Club Renaissance of its own, she stole the show in a dazzling silver dress. The appearance comes just a few days after an announcement Beyonce made that disappointed some of her fans. After her website went down earlier this week she teased a new announcement with a number of countries around the world. While fans were hoping for more Renaissance tour dates, they ended up just getting screenings of the accompanying tour movie. But at least one of the places screening the film for an actual Bey appearance. Check out videos of the appearance below.

Beyonce’s Surprise Appearance

Despite fans being somewhat let down by the Renaissance concert announcement, the film has performed incredibly well. With just a few weeks in theaters under the film’s belt, it’s already entered the top 5 highest-grossing concert films of all time. She joins Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and Miley Cyrus among artists with the biggest concert films of all time.

The film soared to new highs right out of the gate. It netted one of the biggest December opening weekends for any film in the past 20 years. It also came just a few weeks after Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film had a similarly massive debut. Both films are now firmly supplanted within the top-grossing concert films of all time. What do you think of Beyonce making a surprise appearance at a Renaissance tour film after-party in Brazil? Let us know in the comment section below.

NFL International Series Headed To Brazil Next Season

The NFL has announced that Brazil will host one of the league’s international series games in 2024. Announced at the ongoing owners’ meetings in Dallas, the game will be played at Corinthians Arena in San Paulo. The arena holds just over 49,000 spectators and is the home of Brazilian soccer giants SC Corinthians. Furthermore, the league also announced that the international series would expand to a slate of eight games in 2025. The number is opposed to the current slate of four.

“Becoming a global sport is a major strategic priority for the league and 32 teams. Increasing international game inventory allows us to grow our global presence and share our game with exciting new markets to connect with more fans around the world,” Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. The 2023 season saw games in London and Frankfurt. Conversations with organizers in Madrid will continue, the league also noted. The NFL hopes to host a game at the iconic San Bernabeu in the near future.

NFL Expands International Reach Ahead Of 2028 Olympics

While the NFL has been expanding its international impact for over a decade, a new pin on the calendar has added additional weight to the endeavor. 2028 marks the Olympic debut of flag football, a project that the NFL has long pushed for. However, the game still remains fairly limited in its international scope. When the news was originally announced, the internet was flooded with memes and mockery about how dominant the US team would likely be at the event.

However, for the moment, Brazil appears to be the league’s next focus. “There’s a lot of interest in the NFL. I mean, we saw it. We did a Super Bowl viewing party last year down in Brazil, and it was packed, and the energy is there. You’ve got some classic soccer clubs around the world who are really interested in hosting the NFL and building a relationship with the NFL. So, the marriage of those two interests there, for sure. It’s just determining the timing and the approach,” the NFL’s VP of international events told The Adam Schefter Podcast.

SteveWillDoIt Seemingly Arrested During Livestream In Brazil

Controversial streamer SteveWillDoIt has seemingly been arrested on weapons charges in Brazil. The NELK affiliate and former friend of 6ix9ine had been seen earlier in the stream wielding assault weapons. Later, Steve was seen being detained by Brazilian police along with his crew. However, some people have called cap on the situation, pointing to how one of the police officers almost comically fails to handcuff Steve during the stream.

While Brazil allows civilians to carry firearms, they must be registered with the federal police. Furthermore, civilians are only allowed to possess handguns and semi-automatic weapons. However, assault weapons, such as those that Steve was seen with, are banned from civilian ownership. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

SteveWillDoIt Worried That Bronny James Is Coming For His Girl

However, it’s not the only drama that Steve has been involved in lately. In a stream around Halloween, Steve claimed that Bronny James messaged his girlfriend, Celina Smith. “I would be so upset if my girl f-cked Bron Jr, I would be so upset,” Steve said in a recent livestream with Adin Ross and others. “I would be so upset if she f-cked Bron Jr.. And I say this because Bron Jr. messaged my girl. Yeah, he messaged my girl. So I would be so upset if she f-cked Bron Jr. bro”. However, Steve did not specify what was in the messages that Bronny reportedly sent.

Steve and Celina have been an on-and-off item for many years. However, after a long period apart, Steve reintroduced them as a couple at the end of last month. Smith is a popular Instagram model and OnlyFans creator. Having met in high school, they reportedly broke up earlier this year following rumors that Smith had cheated on Steve with a photographer. Despite this, the rumors were never confirmed and the couple appears to be back together.

The Weeknd Didn’t Let The Pouring Rain Stop Him At Stunning Brazil Concert

Everyone knows that The Weeknd is an incredible performer, and his recent show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil proves that to a completely new level. Moreover, many clips of his concert emerged online that depict him performing to the same standard of quality- despite the pouring rain in the stadium. Of course, it’s always pretty inconvenient for the crowd to face rain during a show, but that bother is exponentially higher for artists. It’s amazing that things ran as well as they did from the looks of it, and the Canadian superstar still captivated the crowd as they sang along to his hits. Sure, the rain also just adds a coolness factor, so it ended up working out just fine.

Furthermore, the performances during this tour is only part of the greatness it’s offering. For example, apparently The Weeknd’s trek in Colombia boosted the nation’s economy considerably, and that takes a big dent. It’s been one of the most sought-after and also acclaimed concert series of the past few years, and it spans two full studio albums- with one project left to complete the trilogy. Abel Tesfaye might be hanging up his moniker soon, but it’s clear his creativity and artistry won’t be held back, whether by rain or otherwise.

The Weeknd Isn’t Bothered By The Rain: Watch

Unfortunately, we’re starting to get the final stages of The Weeknd right now, starting off with his final feature under that name. That came in the form of Diddy’s new album The Love Album: Off The Grid, and fans loved what they heard on the R&B-centric LP. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like he will completely cut off music in the pursuit of future endeavors in entertainment and beyond. As such, the XO superstar might just perform and record under a different name, and his catalog will remain a gem in the 2010s and 2020s decades.

Meanwhile, with more shows to go, the 33-year-old has plenty more chances to look cool in the rain. Even without that extra stage design, another incredible run of shows where he gives it all onstage will follow. The sky is stormy, but the future looks bright for The Weeknd. Keep checking in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on the “Snowchild” hitmaker.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports Comes To Brazil Through Agency Acquisition

Jay-Z’s multi-hyphenate and incredibly successful entertainment company Roc Nation is adding yet another specialty to their roster. Moreover, according to AllHipHop and Khel Now reports, its Sports management division recently acquired TFM, a Brazilian soccer agency, and thus planted its flag in South America. Furthermore, TFM represents some of the most exciting talent in the country including Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli, Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa, and José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior. In addition, reports suggest that the new deal won’t temporarily hinder the São Paulo office’s operations or setup. However, they will apparently change its name to Roc Nation Sports Brazil.

Still, while this may be seen as a controversial move by some, the soccer agency will maintain a lot of independence. For example, TFM’s founder Frederico Pena will remain director of the company. Also, Roc Nation has a long history of managing artists, athletes, and other influential figures alike that kept a sense of freedom in their partnership. In terms of sports, even though they only managed artists from its inception in 2008, in 2018 they sought to represent athletes, as well.

Marta Confirms International Retirement After 2023 World Cup

Marta Vieira da Silva is one of the greatest soccer players of all time. Beginning in her home nation of Brazil, she has played all over the world. After a brief stint in the US in 2010 and 2011, Marta returned to the US in 2017 after spending six years in Sweden. Despite being known as “Pelé with skirts”, Marta’s play almost defies comparison. She’s tenacious, fast, and views the field of play like no one else. It’s not an exaggeration to say that no one plays soccer quite like Marta.

On the international stage, Marta has represented Brazil since 2002. She has 115 goals in 174 games and at the time of writing, serves as Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer for the women’s national team. She has played at every World Cup since 2003, also serving as the all-time goalscorer for the competition. However, she has never won the tournament. The closest Brazil has come was a second-place finish in 2007. Now, it appears that Marta is giving herself one last chance to win it.

Marta Confirms International Retirement

Speaking with local media in Brazil on July 3, Marta confirmed that the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand would be her last. “Yes, it will be my last World Cup. We have to understand that a time comes for us to prioritize other things. I just have to be thankful to have lived all those years in the national team. To have the opportunity to go to another World Cup, a sixth one, for me is something surreal.”

Brazil enter as the #8 nation in the world and will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back Round of 16 exits in 2015 and 2019. They should have a fairly easy time in the group stage. The biggest threat will be France (ranked #5 in the world). Elsewhere in the group, they will face a Jamaican team that is currently fighting its national federation. Furthermore, they will take on Panama. However, winning the group will be vital if they want to avoid a likely Round of 16 matchup against Germany. Regardless, the team is likely to do what they can make Marta’s final tournament the best of her career.
