(SPOILERS for this week’s BMF episode will be found below.)
BMF returned last week with a season two premiere episode that left us with plenty to talk about. Meech and Terry are still split with Terry walking away from the drug game, one that nearly cost him his eye, to begin a car-ride service with his father Charles. Meech enters a new partnership to receive a new supply of drugs and it leads to the start of the Black Mafia Family. We also learn about the fates of Big L and Lamar as well as why Detective Bryant won’t leave B-Mickie alone.
The aforementioned events in the season two premiere of BMF, titled “Family Dinner,” are soundtracked by songs that help to accentuate the emotions behind each scene. You can find a list of them belong as well as details about the scenes that they are heard in.
Sunshine Anderson — “Heard It All Before”
This is the first song we hear in the episode. It plays at the 02:42 mark as older Terry (played by Mustafa Harris) is on the phone with his significant other as he prepares to get out of the country. His plan goes left when Detective Bryant and a SWAT team break into the house to arrest him and other members of BMF.
50 Cent — “Wish Me Luck” Feat. Charlie Wilson
This is the theme song of BMF. It plays at the 08:01 mark in “Family Dinner.” While 50 Cent and Charlie Wilson’s voices are only heard on it, the song also features Snoop Dogg and Moneybagg Yo.
Armando — “You With Me”
This Armando record plays at the 13:36 mark as Terry is taken aback by Markeisha’s beauty as she walks into the gym for a basketball game at St. Cecilia. There isn’t much record of this song online, but the BMF public relations team confirmed that this is the song that plays at that moment in the episode.
Albert King — “Born Under A Bad Sign”
We hear Albert King’s “Born Under A Bad Sign” at the 19:15 mark as Meech reconnects with K-9 to return his cocaine. K-9 had Meech bring it back from Las Vegas with the goal of seeing how fast and efficiently he could get it done. Meech accepts the job with the hope of gaining K-9’s trust to enter a partnership.
Marlon Coles — “Cool In You”
Marlon Coles’ “Cool In You” plays at the 30:33 mark after Terry’s second meeting with Markeisha. He runs into her at a Detroit insurance company, where she works as an associate. It’s clear that Terry is falling for Markeisha as the song plays as he imagines getting intimate with Markeisha despite laying next to his girlfriend LaWanda.
E-Hart & Don Caban — “Chasing Paper”
You can hear this record at the 36:00 mark as Meech returns to K-9 to once again convince him that he should allow Meech to move his product. Meech succeeds in his mission, but this interaction also ends with him enjoying a plate of steak and learning that K-9 killed Big L on his behalf.
The Delfonics — “Ready Or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)”
The Delfonics can be heard at the 50:20 mark just after we learn that Lamar is alive. Heading into season two, we assumed that Lamar was dead after he was hit during a shootout with Meech. While he was severely injured and left in a coma, Lamar survived the gunshot and we can almost be sure that he’ll set out to retaliate against Meech.
New episodes of ‘BMF’ are available on the STARZ app on Fridays at 12:00 am EST and on the STARZ TV channel at 8:00 pm EST.
50 Cent is getting back into the studio. The superstar television executive will briefly depart his worlds of BMF and Power for the music studio to create a new album. To get fans more excited, Dr. Dre will work alongside 50 for the album.
50 Cent pulled up to Big Boy’s Neighborhood and revealed he got a call from Shady/Aftermath to get back into the studio.
“I got a text from [Eminem] that he had already spoke to Dre, and that Dre is in there and he got some crazy stuff for me to go hear,” 50 Cent said. “This is my process: I’ll go make something, what I can find, the best music that I can put my hands on. And when I feel real good about it, I bring it to put pressure on Dre to offer me something. ‘Cause he’ll have something… He’s always had something.”
50 Cent is also ready to expand his BMF series with multiple spinoffs. Speaking at the premiere for season 2 of the hit show, 50 tells Deadline about the transition in leadership at Starz and how excited he is about it.
“They got some really, really smart executives coming in to help rebuild Starz in the right way. And it’s exciting for me,” 50 said. “You’ll get a chance to see three spinoff shows from ‘BMF.’ It’s ‘BMF’ immortal.”
The expanded BMF series is currently in development, and the titles and details about the spinoffs will be announced later. Last month, Jackson and Starz announced the creation of Fightland, a new series based in the high-stakes, cash-rich, violent world of British boxing.
As Diddy continues to show off more images of his infant daughter, Yung Miami has been hitting the red carpet. The Season Two premiere of BMF arrived last week, and the City Girls star was seen celebrating the next adventure of the series. She also made a guest appearance in the second season, so it was only fitting that she hit up the premiere event as she spoke with reporters.
“My character is different from Yung Miami or City Girls. I’m a wife,” she said of her portrayal. “It’s very emotional, it’s a real serious scene. It showed, like, a whole different side of me. It’s very, like, a vulnerable state. It’s very emotional, it’s real deep.”
The rapper was asked if she saw herself being a wife “real soon.” Without hesitation, Yung Miami answered, “No.”
“Just because—not saying that… I never wanted to be married. I don’t see—I don’t know. I’m not one of those girls that wanna be a wife.” The interviewer mentioned the rapper is in a relationship, without being in a relationship, but in a relationship.
“That’s my type!” Miami joked. Adding, “That’s my love language!”
Meanwhile, Baby Love Combs has made her social media debut, and Diddy can’t get enough of showing off his daughter. When it was revealed that the Bad Boy mogul fathered a child with Dana Tran, immediately, people began berating Yung Miami with questions. She simply stated she was aware of the newborn and the controversy hasn’t stopped her budding romance with Puff.

There was no shortage of star power in attendance at the legendary TCL Chinese Theater, with Executive Producers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson, and Anne Clements, as well as “BMF” cast members Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., Da’Vinchi, Michole Briana White, Myles Truitt, Steve Harris, Kelly Hu, La La Anthony, Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, Christine Horn, Sydney Mitchell, Rayan Lawrence, Serayah, Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee, and Laila Pruitt are among those who have appeared on the show.

Season two of BMF explores the unexpected journey to success of the Flenory brothers, Demetrius Flenory “Big Meech” and Terry Flenory “Southwest Tee,” who ascended from the depths of poverty to become game changers in hip-hop and culture while navigating Detroit’s drug war. Throughout the emotional season, the audience cheers on the Flenory brothers as they work to achieve the American Dream in a system that is stacked against them. Family, faith, and loyalty are universal topics that are explored both at home and on the streets. The brothers work together to outwit the government and grow BMF into a multi-state empire.
50 Cent recently discussed what it was like being on set with Snoop Dogg and Eminem for his STARZ hit series BMF. Speaking with HipHopDX, 50 compared the intensity of both rappers.
“On set, I would probably be the most intense,” 50 Cent said at the premiere of the second season of BMF. “Snoop is so relaxed, it’s like, he’s got the music playing…”
He then commented on his son, Sire Jackson: “See that? I want to be like that when I get here. He really don’t care we’re here. He don’t care where we are at, he is going to have a good time.”
Snoop plays a character by the name of Pastor Swift. He recently spoke about building on his performance in Season 2 during a promotional video for the series.
“I had a great time on Season 1,” he said. “Was glad that they gave me the opportunity to come back and reinvent my character, so that’s what it’s about to be. You know, Pastor Swift keeps everything spiritual. You know my counseling and my mentorship is needed.”
50 Cent also recently revealed during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood that he wants to adapt 8 Mile into a TV series.
“I wanna bring — I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,” 50 Cent said during the interview. “We in motion. It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”

It’s a big week for TV fans and G-Unit riders alike. 50 Cent recently announced that his Starz series Black Mafia Family (or BMF) will receive three new spinoff series. Moreove, this comes hot off of another TV announcement from the hip-hop and media mogul. Recently, he spoke to Big Boy about upcoming music in an interview and said he’s developing an 8 Mile show.
However, back to his Starz efforts, 50 made the announcement during the Season 2 premiere of BMF at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood the night of Thursday, January 5th. According to Variety, fans can expect at least three new shows to expand the BMF universe.
“They got some really, really smart executives coming in to help rebuild Starz in the right way. And it’s exciting for me,” Fif stated. “You’ll get a chance to see three spinoff shows from ‘BMF.’ It’s ‘BMF’ immortal.”
Meanwhile, this followed the announcement that 50’s contract with Starz ended. Furthermore, the TV network has long worked with the Queens icon, from BMF to multiple series in his Power universe. Last October, the “In Da Club” MC inked a deal with media company Luisd Media for a three-project partnership.
“I am excited by the kind of stories we’re going to be bringing to life together, and can’t wait for the first project to reach Peacock next year,” he expressed. “G-Unit Film & Television continues to go from strength-to-strength, and this partnership with Lusid is another great collaboration for the team.”
However, don’t let 50’s TV success distract you from the fact he’s still a high-in-demand rapper, and that fans are waiting on new music from him this year. In an interview with Big Boy, he said that Eminemturned down an $8 million offer to perform at the World Cup. According to Fif, he was also a part of that deal, but he’s more excited about releasing a new album with the help of Slim Shady and Dr. Dre.
What do you think of 50 Cent’s announcement of three new spinoff shows from Black Mafia Family? Are you excited for new music from 50? Whatever the case, let us know what you think of BMF in the comments down below. Also, as always, check in with HNHH for the latest media news in the rap game.
Over thirteen months have passed since the Season 1 finale of BMF aired at the tail-end of 2021. The Starz original crime drama follows the rise, as well as the eventual downfall, of the infamous Black Mafia Family. Executive produced by Power mogul 50 Cent, BMF offers a dramatized account of Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory’s exploits as the founding members of one of the most notorious African American crime families in the history of the United States. What’s more, Big Meech’s own son — Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. — was cast in the lead role as his father, and rising actor Da’Vinchi portrayed Southwest T.
Together, Lil Meech and Da’Vinchi brought BMF’s story to light in a captivating way. While it wasn’t without its faults, BMF’s first season brought in an average of 0.379 million viewers per episode. The Season 1 finale featured the long-awaited showdown between Meech and fan-favorite villain Lamar Silas (portrayed by Eric Kofi-Abrefa), and it didn’t disappoint. BMF’s inaugural season finale brought in over half a million viewers on its own, and it set the stage for an even more exciting second season.
After a long wait and a myriad of updates amid 50 Cent and Starz’s ongoing beef, BMF is finally back. The Season 2 premiere aired on Friday, January 6, and it wasted no time setting up the show’s latest story arc. Without a doubt, a lot went down in the Solvan “Slick” Naim-directed episode. For a recap of all the new characters and plot twists featured in the 52-minute premiere, keep scrolling down. However, be warned: beyond this point, there are plenty of spoilers ahead.
Here’s Everything That Happened In BMF Episode 201: “Family Dinner”
Titled “Family Dinner,” BMF’s Season 2 opener is thematically centered around communal family moments. Whereas Season 1 kicked off with a flash-forward of Meech, the sophomoric outing begins with a flash-forward of T. After a written quote about family dinners fades away, T brings his crew together for a meal in St. Louis. According to T, Meech has already been arrested. Still, Southwest T is confident that he’ll evade the feds because he thinks he’s smarter than his brother. However, everything comes crashing down during T’s family dinner when officers storm his house. T is arrested by an aged-up Detective Bryant (portrayed by Steve Harri), and Leslie Jones makes a comedic cameo as Bryant’s partner.
Then, the show cuts back to the late 1980s. Meech prepares to smuggle product from Las Vegas back to Detroit. Before leaving Sin City, Meech quickly crosses paths with Rick “Freeway” Ross and Shower Posse’s Christopher Coke. After evading a potential arrest, Meech makes it back to Detroit safely.
Once back in Detroit, viewers are reunited with the younger version of Southwest T. In a nod back to Meech and T’s rift at Season 1’s conclusion, T takes his driver’s test. Despite a potential setback, he earns his license and prepares to go into business with his father. Later on in the episode, his child and baby’s mother (portrayed by Sydney Mitchell) return to Detroit. However, due to his growing crush on LaLa Anthony’s character Markaisha Taylor, he remains detached from his former love interest.
Elsewhere, the Flenory patriarch (portrayed by Russell Hornsby) links up with his wife (portrayed by Michole Briana White). Their relationship is still on the rocks because the family continues to struggle financially. Nevertheless, they refuse to accept monetary assistance from Meech. Thus, their familial ties are strained. For instance, tension boils over when the mother slaps her daughter, Nicole (portrayed by Laila Pruitt).
Drama quickly unfolds at the school’s basketball game. Both Meech and T attend the game and cross each other’s paths, but they still aren’t on good terms. Shockingly, one of the game’s attendees murders the team’s coach in cold blood over a payment dispute. The show eventually introduces the shooter as K-9 (portrayed by Rayan Lawrence), Meech’s volatile new connect. Apparently, Meech’s trip from Vegas to Detroit was part of K-9’s screening to see whether he could count on Meech. While being further vetted by K-9, Big L (portrayed by Walnette Marie Santiago) makes an appearance. She tells K-9 that she wouldn’t do business with Meech, causing K-9 to reconsider working with him, as well.
Amidst Meech and T’s growing drama, Detective Bryant embarks on a new path of his own. In contrast to his role as a dirty cop in Season 1, Bryant is now fully committed to arresting Meech. Furthermore, Bryant now has custody of his son, but that side plot takes a backseat to his efforts against Meech. In an early episode debrief, his supervisor reminds him that Kato and Lamar Silas’ murders need to be solved. As a result, she assigns him a new partner, Detective Veronica Jin (portrayed by Kelly Hu).
Together, they work to sniff out the 50 Boys and prevent additional street violence. In a surprising demonstration of her grit, Detective Jin hits Dink (portrayed by actor/rapper JVSUN) with her car. They arrest him, and Bryant clearly gains respect for his new partner. As a result, he brings her to a heavily policed hospital and shows her Lamar Silas is still alive. The Season 1 villain has been detained and renamed by authorities, but he remains in a coma. After that insane reveal, the show jumps back to Meech and B-Mickie (portrayed by Myles Truitt).
Despite enduring a major setback with Dink’s arrest, Meech still doubles down on his attempt to work with K-9. His new mentor, and potential future adversary, agrees to bring Meech into his business. Without hesitation, he assigns Meech 20 bricks. However, before Meech can even celebrate the win, K-9 warns Meech to never be late with his money. In fact, he casually informs Meech he wouldn’t hesitate to kill him and his brother over a late payment. Then, K-9 delivers the Season 2 premiere’s second jaw-dropper. After presenting his team with gifts of jewelry, K-9 gives Meech a box bigger than everyone else’s. Surprisingly, the box contains Big L’s mouth, completely detached from her body. Earlier, K-9 and Big L seemed like close friends, so this is just a small example of his treachery.
Regardless, Meech is blinded by ambition, so he continues to push forward with his new product. He makes one last attempt to recruit T back to drug dealing, but his brother doesn’t budge. After a tense fight, they go their separate ways and prepare for two very different types of family dinners.
T eats a big meal with his family for their anticlimactic Sunday dinner. Contrarily, Meech eats takeout with his soldiers inside their crew’s headquarters. Meech deads the 50 Boys moniker that he and T used throughout the first season and officially rebrands his crew as the Black Mafia Family.
Although Meech’s call to “pledge allegiance to the Black Mafia Family” could’ve been a satisfying conclusion, the premiere keeps going. After the Flenory family dinner, T overhears his mother and girlfriend’s strategy to get him out of the streets. He confronts them about it, and he immediately loses trust in his entire family. While he may not yet realize it, Meech also can’t trust the people around him. His newly confirmed right-hand man, B-Mickie, is unfortunately still working as an informant for Detective Bryant.
With drama slowly unfolding for the Flenory brothers, “Family Dinner” closes out with its third and final gut punch. In the final moments of the Season 2 premiere, Lamar awakens from his coma, undoubtedly spelling trouble for Meech and T.

STARZ changed Hollywood Boulevard last night in anticipation of the highly anticipated new season of the Detroit-based family drama BMF, which premiered Friday.

The second season of BMF is upon us, and Lil Meech is speaking candidly about his incarcerated father. The season premiere kicks off today (January 6), and the cast is in the middle of their latest press run to promote the series. Demetrius Flenory Jr., also known as Lil Meech, portrays his father, Big Meech, on the show. The elder is currently serving a sentence connected with his involvement in the infamous Black Mafia Family.
Recently, Lil Meech was joined by his BMF co-star Myles Truitt on The Morning Hustle. He was asked if there was anything in the series that Big Meech doesn’t necessarily like. “Not so much as far as acting, but he don’t really like seeing stuff that he don’t do,” said Lil Meech.
“So, even if it’s like, me wearing my show strings. So, he like, ‘N*gga, why you go your shoe strings tied up. I ain’t ever wear my shoes like that,’” he continued. Lil Meech joked, “What?! This is TV!”
He further said, “What’s crazy is, every jail is different. Some jails don’t show premium cable, premium channels. So, he got blessed that the jail he’s in, he’s able to watch the show.”
Lil Meech also added his father is a medium security facility after serving at a maximum. Now that Big Meech can watch the show, he doesn’t want to be transferred because the new location may not allow BMF.
“Another thing he hated, which is so funny,” the actor said. “Remember when the plug punched me in the stomach? He was mad. He was like, ‘N*gga, I ain’t never got hit! Punch me in the stomach? Nobody ever beat me up!’ It was too funny.”
Lil Meech has to remind his pops that this is all entertainment. “Something gotta be dramatized. Everything can’t be real.”
BMF star Demetrius Flenory Jr., better known as Lil Meech, was released from custody this past Tuesday after being arrested earlier that same day.
The actor was arrested at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after authorities discovered a firearm he tried to bring past security.
In a video clip posted to Meech’s Instagram Story Tuesday afternoon, the 22-year-old showed himself on a private plane, giving fans an update. Per NBC Miami, the star was freed after posting a bond of $2,500.
Trolling Meech for his recent arrest, 50 Cent took to his Instagram to add his two cents to the situation.
“What the f*ck ! LIL Meech didn’t hear them say cut,” the “In Da Club” rapper penned, then adding, “BMF returns Jan 6 Black mafia Fridays.”
Power mainstay Micheal Rainey Jr. commented under the post, joking, “When trynna prove BMF is more realistic than Power goes wrong.”
Gianni Paolo, who plays Brayden Weston on Power and Power Book II: Ghost, later added his own thoughts.
“I lowkey like Meech but he should’ve heard someone say cut, not cut.” he commented under the rapper-producer’s post.
A son of drug kingpin Big Meech, the Detroit native also had another recent run-in with the law.
As HotNewHipHop reported in May, he was arrested after allegedly stealing an expensive Richard Mille watch. Following his booking, Meech faced charges of grand theft and organized fraud.
In September, TMZ revealed that prosecutors got rid of the charges. According to Meech’s lawyer, Howard Srebnick, the case was basically a “misunderstanding that was amicably resolved.”
The case was dropped after authorities opened an investigation and were informed that missing merchandise had been returned.
