MSCHF’s Big Red Boots Followed By Wild New Backwards Sneakers: Photos

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen any celebrities rocking MSCHF’s Big Red Boots. However, the Brooklyn-based collective is about to be back with a vengeance when their latest design makes its way into the hands of consumers. Earlier this week, the brand unveiled its new BWD Shoe. It’s designed so that owners can insert their foot into either the front or back. Wearing it the normal way will surely earn you lots of compliments. If you want to stand out, though, the way to go is by stepping out in a seemingly backward pair of sneakers.

As TMZ notes, the actual fit of the shoes remains unclear. Stock photos circulating online make it seem as though wearing them in the optical illusion style would feel more like a sandal than a traditional sneaker. The unique design obviously isn’t for everyone, though they’re already receiving an enthusiastic response online. They have yet to be promoted by any celebrities on social media. Still, we won’t be surprised to see MSCHF roll out another star-studded marketing campaign for the BWD Show in the coming weeks.

MSCHF’s New BWD Shoe

As you may recall, Ciara and Iggy Azalea both donned the Big Red Boots earlier this year. The former paired hers with a Michael Jackson shirt while dancing in the mirror. The latter showed off even more skin in a tiny red thong and a white t-shirt. Others to step out in the viral shoes include Pardison Fontaine, Lil Wayne, and Fivio Foreign, who was heavily clowned for his look at the time.

MSCHF’s BWD Shoe will drop on April 11th. It will be available for purchase exclusively on the brand’s website or the MSCHF Sneakers app. The price for the fashion-forward runners is $135. They’ll reportedly only be on sale for a one-hour window beginning at 2 PM ET. The cost is far lower than the Big Red Boots, which sold for $350, though it’s likely they’ll end up running eager shoppers far higher amounts on resale sites. Do you plan to snag yourself a pair? Druski Learns A Harsh Lesson About The Big Red Boots

Druski is one of the funniest people in the world right now. The comedian started off doing sketches on social media, however, he has transitioned into something much bigger. He has been fortunate enough to go on tour with massive artists. Moreover, he has a friendship with Jack Harlow that has certainly led to an influx of opportunities. Overall, Druski is just on top of the world, and you can’t help but be happy for him. He is easy to root for, and he never fails to make us laugh.

Whenever you go on his Instagram account, you can probably find him engaging in some hilarious antics. That is exactly what we saw yesterday as the comedian posted a video of his recent trip to a streetwear and sneaker store. While there, he was coaxed into trying on a pair of MSCHF’s Big Red Boots. These boots have become infamous for their AstroBoy aesthetic. Not to mention, they are extremely clumsy and goofy. Yet somehow, they have become a massive trend.

Druski Tries On The Big Red Boots

Just like us, Druski was extremely skeptical about these boots, but he tried them on anyway. As he quickly realized, the top of the shoe is like a suction cup that sticks to your legs. This is especially true if you have larger calves. Unfortunately, it took the help of someone else to get these off, and Druski was in a considerable amount of pain throughout the ordeal. It truly goes to show that these shoes are not for everyone. Additionally, it also proves the old adage that fashion and beauty are a pain.

If you want the Big Red Boots, you will have to shell out hundreds of dollars. Furthermore, you will have to go out and find a wardrobe that supports shoes like these. Of course, that is no easy task and for many, it isn’t even worth it. That said, you really never know what kind of trends will pop off in the sneaker world. Let us know your thoughts on the Big Red Boots, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sneaker world.

The Big Red Boots Phenomenon

MSCHF, which is Mischief without the vowels, is an art collective based out of New York City. The collective has a long-standing history of trolling consumer culture, specifically by selling consumer goods. Known for such releases as the shoe collaboration with Lil Nas X, and the Nike Satan Shoes. Which allegedly were made with real human blood. As well as Jimmy Fallon’s Gobstomper sneakers last summer, which were, “designed to be destroyed.”  A few months later, they put out a medical boot. Why? The project was described as an homage to the fact that “industries with little to no regard for aesthetics designing objects for utilitarian purposes churn out bangers like no one else.”

To add to their long line of consumer products for consumerism’s sake they have released items such as a MSCHF defibrillator “to fix your literal broken heart.” As well as a collection of AI-generated foot pics. With the tagline “this foot does not exist.” The collective has even gone so far as to have made Birkenstocks out of Birkin Bags, sold a box of cereal containing one big Fruit Loop, and created an ATM leaderboard that tracks and ranks the checking account balance of anyone who uses it. As of December 2022, Diplo was No. 1 with $3,004,913.06.

The Big Red Boots Are Unveiled

On February 16th, the brand released its latest product. A shoe destined to go viral: MSCHF’s big red boots, aptly named the Big Red Boot. They are made of TPU rubber and an EVA mid-outsole and take design cues from a video game. A press release for the shoe read, “Cartoonishness is an abstraction that frees us from the constraints of reality,” the release continued, “If you kick someone in these boots, they go boing!” The artist collective known for its subversive creations, stated, “Big red boots are really not shaped like feet, but they are extremely shaped like boots.”

Each boot weighs about three and a half pounds bringing the total weight for the pair to a whopping seven pounds. Even more astounding than the weight of the boots, was the rollout of the shoes. Leading up to New York Fashion Week, they were spotted everywhere among a multitude of celebrities. From Instagram models and TikTok grandpas to the Barclays center during Coi Leray’s halftime show. Photos of artist Diplo emerged wearing the Big Red Boots at a Knicks game. They were even spotted on WWE’s Seth Rollins, as he kicked another wrestler in the face while wearing the Big Red Boots. Basketball player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wore them to the arena before a game and even Janelle Monae wore them to shoot hoops.

Celebrities Set The Trend

Once NYFW began, the boots became the new “it” accessory. Not surprisingly of course. Brands typically give celebrities and models articles of specific clothing and/or accessories to wear, as a marketing technique. MSCHF was no different with their Big Red Boots. They were spotted by celebrities and street style stars all over Fashion Week. Street-style photographer Phil Oh captured them on various stars. American singer/songwriter Dorian Electra styled them with a graphic coat, and mini skirt to fully show the shoes and donned a matching beret. Model Sarah Snyder paired the boots with a glossy red skirt and white tights; TikTok star and model Wisdom Kaye decided to style them with athletic shorts. No matter how they were worn the statement boots were styled to be the focal point.

Though the boots are rather unusual and even more impractical to wear, it’s been quite interesting to see how quickly the world was taken by storm by them. Upon being released on the 16th of February, the Big Red Boots were sold out in minutes. Leading to the site crashing shortly thereafter. Upon selling out, they were then listed on resale sites ranging between $1,200 and $1,500. Almost quadruple the original selling price of $350. The debate on the shoes has been as interesting as the shoes themselves. Some say the brand, and specifically the boots, are a social experiment–slash–experiential art project. While many others still have said the real art is the whole spectacle of releasing such a shoe. The reaction to the boots, the reaction to that reaction, the realization that it’s not just about boots, and the simultaneous truth that they are, in fact, just boots.

What’s Next?

MSCHF as a collective seems to continuously roll out products that raise eyebrows. They have an interesting and complex understanding of how consumerism and over-saturation seemingly go hand in hand these days. This was made overtly apparent in the case of the Big Red Boots. While the MSCHF may appear cartoonish, the art collective is entirely serious about its release. In an interview with the New York Times, they rejected the idea that the boots were a joke. “It’s not a satire,” MSCHF said in a statement to The New York Times, after declining to be interviewed. “But what’s interesting is that we’re at a moment in time where it doesn’t have to be.”

Janelle Monáe Wears MSCHF Boots With A Twist At NBA All-Star Weekend

Janelle Monáe just stepped out in customized MSCHF boots during the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend. Of course, their style and ability to keep up with (and set) trends is no doubt impressive. As such, it’s only fitting that their embrace of the viral Big Red Boots should come with a twist. Furthermore, artist Kevin Rejtö Lowry painted the custom “Float” boots for Janelle, referencing their latest comeback single. Moreover, it’s a sky-blue background with various clouds floating over the shoe, making for a beautiful sight. Also, Monáe combined them perfectly with a sky-blue “Float” varsity jacket and blue-white shades.

However, the 37-year-old’s fashion talents didn’t necessarily translate into a high-scoring Celebrity All-Star performance. Even though Monáe played defense on their opponents while the singer’s team had possession, they still had a good time. “Nah fr that was bucket list,” they tweeted after the game. “I got cut from my team as a kid (it was traumatic!) and now I’m laughing. Thank you @NBAAllStar for having meeeee.” Also, Rolling Stone reported that Dwyane Wade (who ran Monáe’s team) told them to step up at one point. “When we down here, I need you to be ready to score,” he allegedly said.

Despite Monáe’s hooping skills, they certainly impress with their fashion every time. What’s more is that there were plenty of other people on their team who carried that weight already. For example, in almost prophetic fashion, 21 Savage scored Team Wade’s 21st point with a clean three-pointer. Their team, coached by Giannis Antetokuonmpo, faced Utah Jazz governor Ryan Smith’s team, under Fat Joe’s coaching. Moreover, Monáe went head-to-head with Cordae, Ozuna, DK Metcalf, and many more.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City artist recently returned to music with their “Float” single, during which they boast in classic, confident Janelle fashion. Came back from the future to take all y’all n***as and take all y’all h*es,” they rap. “They said I was bi, yeah, baby, I’m bi, a whole ‘nother coast / She stay in the Hills, he stay in Atlanta, I paid for them both / My face card don’t come with a limit, I swipe it, I spend it, I swear I be doin’ the most.” Check out their new track above and return to HNHH for the latest greatness from Janelle Monáe.

Iggy Azalea Pairs MSCHF’s Big Red Boots With A Bright Red Thong

Iggy Azalea is one of the most photogenic artists in the entire world right now. She is someone who is constantly posting on her Instagram page, and more often than not, she is giving fans some thirst traps. Overall, these thirst traps have certainly ramped up since she created her OnlyFans. This OF page was created as a way to help promote her music. Consequently, she has seen an uptick in sales. Moreover, she has seen some huge returns when it comes to her overall earnings.

Now that she is making this kind of content, she can do a better job of capitalizing on certain trends. One of those trends is none other than the Big Red Boots that were released by MSCHF today. These boots are known for their peculiar construction. Additionally, they are pretty massive and aren’t exactly convenient. However, plenty of people love these right now, and they are the perfect piece of footwear if you are trying to get off a fit pic on Instagram. Apparently, Iggy has been attempting to do just that.

Iggy Azalea Stuns

In the Instagram post above, Iggy can be seen wearing a pair of the Big Red Boots. Additionally, she was wearing a white cropped long-sleeve and a bright red thong. The post was then captioned with the phrase “Big red boots for a big boss bitch.” Clearly, Iggy Azalea was feeling herself while wearing these massive boots. It also helps that she was getting off of a private jet which just adds to the aesthetic. Moreover, Iggy wrote her name on the bottom of one of the boots which is giving big Andy from Toy Story vibes.

With this latest Instagram post, perhaps Iggy will inspire more people to go out and cop these kicks. Of course, that could be a hard sell considering just how tough these are to pull off. However, if you want to flex on your friends, then you may just have to get these. Not to mention, Iggy looks so good in these that she may just very well be a convincing enough vessel for these things. Let us know what you think of the big red boots, in the comments below.

Paraison Fontaine Rocks MSCHF Big Red Boots Amid Megan Thee Stallion Breakup Rumors

Pardison Fontaine is the latest celebrity to rock MSCHF’s viral and controversial Big Red Boots. Moreover, the rapper and ghostwriter posted many pictures and short videos on his Instagram page with the footwear. For the caption, he wrote “Damn ..looks like I got da boot,” adding a laughing emoji at the end. Also, he tagged MSCHF and Entire Studios in his post, so perhaps it’s part of a larger partnership. However, most people online think it might refer to the closure of another partnership.

Furthermore, Megan Thee Stallion sparked breakup rumors last week when she unfollowed Pardi on Instagram. Not much emerged since then, but maybe that’s the “boot” the New York native referred to. After all, the first pictures he posted with the boots show him on the phone, sitting on a flight of stairs. Many think it looks oddly similar to someone ejected from a room, home, or relationship. Still, it might all be fun and games, and there’s likely a lot happening behind the scenes that we’ll never know about. However, maybe that’s exactly the rumor that he’s playing with, and might just be trolling fans.

Pardison Fontaine & Meg’s Case

Despite these rumors, the 33-year-old will likely continue to support the Stallion. Moreover, he posted an Instagram message to women who, much like Megan, faced ridicule for their truth. “To any woman especially ones of color that has suffered an injustice I feel for you. When you do find the courage to speak up.. it seems you will be ridiculed. Your credibility will [be] questioned.. your entire past will be held under a magnifying glass. In an instant you can go from victim to defendant in the eyes of the public.”

“To any one with a daughter sister mother niece or aunt,” he added. “I pray for their protection, I pray for their covering, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.” Meanwhile, Meg spoke of the effects her ordeal with Tory Lanez affected their relationship while on the stand. “I feel disgusted, I feel dirty, my own partner is embarrassed,” she admitted. “I can’t even be happy, I don’t want to talk to friends or family.” Check back in with HNHH for the latest on Pardison Fontaine and Megan Thee Stallion.

Lil Wayne & Coi Leray Step Out In MSCHF Big Red Boots: Photos

Looks like Kanye West is getting the last laugh after all. After being relentlessly clowned for his own oversized black boots, the rapper’s contemporaries are finally catching on to his ahead-of-the-curve style. An increasing number of celebrities are stepping out in MSCHF’s Big Red Boots, including Lil Wayne.

Weezy is one of the most recent artists to hop on the trend. He’s taken fashion risks in the past, and his latest look is certainly raising some eyebrows. On Saturday (February 11), the “Lollipop” hitmaker wore his bright boots while filming a music video with NLE Choppa. The shoes were obviously the most interesting part of his OOTD. The rest consisted of a long white shirt and baggy yellow and black striped shorts.

As XXL notes, Wayne is (literally) following in the footsteps of Fivio Foreign. The New Yorker was clowned for wearing the MSCHF boots on TikTok. Regardless of the hate they’ve been getting, the trendy footwear continues to appear on social media. Surprisingly, the public doesn’t have access to them yet.

They’re going on sale later this week for $350 USD on the official MSCHF website. The release will take place on February 16th, so you have time to prepare your bank account. However, it’s worth noting that some resellers are already requesting over $2,000 for the highly anticipated boots.

If Wayne’s look hasn’t convinced you to purchase the BRBs, perhaps Coi Leray’s will. She also spent her Saturday stepping out in the viral, Astroboy-inspired footwear, pairing them with a black and white bodysuit and sheer tights. Not only did the Trendsetter model them, but she also proved that they’re easy to dance in while practicing with a crew behind her.

On her own Instagram feed, the Boston-born rap starlet posted a series of photos showing off her MSCHF shoes. At the same time, she thanked the Brooklyn Nets for having her at their game against the Philadelphia 76ers last night. See Coi’s Big Red Boots below, and let us know if you’ll be buying a pair later this month in the comments.

Fivio Foreign Clowned For Wearing Viral MSCHF Red Boots

Drip is pretty important for any rapper these days, as a clean fit could get you more attention than a decent single. However, many MCs try very hard to stand out, and that experimentation leads to mixed results. Moreover, people are clowning Fivio Foreign for wearing the viral red boots from MSCHF. You know, the ones that look like Astro Boy’s legs. Anyways, he showed off the kicks in a TikTok video dancing to YN Jay’s “Perc & Sex” with his friends. The video posted on Wednesday (February 8) quickly caught some hilarious reactions on social media.

Furthermore, one Twitter user wrote “Nah he ain’t from Brooklyn no more my son from the #universalcircus” with a laughing emoji. Another added, “Everytime I see these boots all I think about is Mario bros and yoshi and hear the boing boing sound.” Still, a few people were nice enough to compliment his overall fit. He wore a black leather jacket and black pants, with a whole lot of red on his feet. “The boots are definitely ugly but they look cute with his outfit.” Even though these boots are all over social media, only a few see the vision in favor of ridiculing it.

“What kills me about celebrities is that if something gets enough hype on social media, you’ll see them wearing it, ugly or not,” a tweeter expressed. “Why the f**k is Brooklyn n***a Fivio Foreign in them Pacman/Astroboy/Boots The Monkey ass boots? No matter how you dress it, ITS UGLY. Rih can’t save it.” Despite the backlash, it’s likely that Fivio won’t break a sweat and will continue to wear whatever he pleases. Most recently at the Grammys, he wore an all-pink ensemble with a fur-lined coat, sneakers, and sunglasses to boot.

Meanwhile, the drill icon’s already started his year off hot. For example, just a few weeks ago, he dropped “Notice Me” with a few rising drill stars. Moreover, these are Tata, Jenn Carter, and Kyle Richh. Given that Fivio’s already established, it’s heartening to see him reach out to that next generation of stars. Only time will tell what will happen when they ask him for fashion advice. Regardless, let us know what you think of Fivio Foreign’s big red boots in the comments. Also, check out some more reactions below and come back to HNHH for more controversial fits.

MSCHF’s Viral Big Red Boots Get A Release Date

If you have been on social media as of late, you have probably heard about MSCHF and their Big Red Boots. Overall, MSCHF is a brand that has certainly created a lot of controversy over the years. This is because they are always trying to push the envelope when it comes to the types of shoes they create. Of course, they got wrapped up in a lawsuit involving Nike thanks to the Lil Nas X Satan shoe. Additionally, they have created the Holy Water Drake 97s, and even some special shoes for Tyga.

For the most part, brands like Vans and Nike have not appreciated their customized creations. Restraining orders and lawsuits have frequently been filed against them as a result. Although, they are still very much in the footwear business and they are making massive waves with their latest creation. The Big Red Boots are a social media phenomenon right now. They are the subject of countless memes, and for the most part, fans cannot help but laugh at just how ridiculous these are.
