All Of The Grammy Wins That Made Beyoncé The Most Awarded Artist Of All Time

Many of us are still shocked at Beyoncé’s surprising Album Of The Year loss at the 2023 Grammys this past Sunday (February 5). Beyhivers are, however, excited at the fact that while she didn’t get the coveted AOTY honor for her seventh studio album Renaissance, she did make history that night. On Grammy night, Beyoncé took home the Grammy awards for Best Dance Recording with her hit single, “Break My Soul,” Best R&B Song with “Cuff It,” Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance with “Plastic Off The Sofa,” and Best Dance/Electronica Album with Renaissance.

These wins brought the total amount of Grammys she’s earned in her career up to 32, which has made her the most Grammy-awarded artist of all time.

Let’s break down the Grammys she has won over the course of the past two decades.

Bey won her first two Grammys in 2001 at 43rd Grammy Awards as a member of Destiny’s Child. She shares the win with her bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal with their hit single, “Say My Name.” The following year, the group won again for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal with “Survivor.”

Her first wins as a solo artist came in 2004, when she took home the awards for Best Contemporary R&B Album for her solo debut album, Dangerously In Love. On that album is the song “Dangerously In Love 2,” for which she won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Her Luther Vandross duet “The Closer I Get To You” won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals. And of course, her solo breakthrough, “Crazy In Love,” which features Jay-Z, won Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

In 2006, she, alongside her Destiny’s Child bandmates, took home the award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for their song “So Amazing” from their last album, Destiny Fulfilled.

The following year, her sophomore album, B’Day, won Best Contemporary R&B Album.

In 2010, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” won three Grammys, including Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Song Of The Year. “Halo” won the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Both of these songs come from Beyoncé’s third solo album, I Am…Sasha Fierce, which won the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. Her cover of Etta James’ “At Last,” which she performed in the movie Cadillac Records, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance.

In 2013, Love On Top from her fourth studio album 4 won Best Traditional R&B Performance. Later that year, she would release her game-changing self-titled fifth album by surprise.

With Beyoncé, she released a music video for each track, and several artists followed suit with the surprise release strategy. Given the album’s cultural impact, it seemed as though the Album Of The Year award was a given for the 57th Grammy Awards in 2015.

That year, she and Jay-Z took home the Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song award for their collaboration, “Drunk In Love.” Beyoncé also won the award for Best Surround Sound Album, however, her loss for Album Of The Year sent the world into a big shock.

Two years later, the world was equally shocked when her sixth album, Lemonade, lost the Album Of The Year award again. She did, however, take home the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album, as well as Best Music Video for Lemonade single “Formation.”

In 2019, she and Jay-Z won the Best Urban Contemporary Album for their joint album, Everything Is Love. The following year, her Netflix documentary, Homecoming, which goes behind the scenes of her 2018 Coachella performance, won the award for Best Music Film.

At the 2021 ceremony, her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration, “Savage,” won the Grammys for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. “Black Parade” and “Brown Skin Girl,” which are featured in her Disney+ short film Black Is King, won the Best R&B Performance and Best Music Video awards respectively.

So although Bey has not won the coveted Album Of The Year award, each of her solo albums have won Grammys in other categories. As the artist who hold the most Grammys, its safe to say the music speaks for itself.

Beyoncé’s Ivy Park Line With Adidas Suffers From Major Revenue Loss: Report

Beyoncé fans are just about willing to consume anything she dishes out. Over the years, Bey’s expanded into different avenues beyond music, such as film, and even clothing. Her brand is basically recession-proof, as we’ve seen with her recently announced Renaissance tour. Fans are shelling out top-dollar to secure tickets for shows, which led Bey to add even more dates to accommodate the demand. It speaks volumes to how strong her grip on the culture is, especially when you look at her other ventures.

In 2019, Beyoncé announced her own Adidas line in collaboration with her athleisure brand, Ivy Park. Adidas described the collab as a “[unity of] two iconic brands, celebrating their heritage while creating uniforms of power.” Adidas evidently banked on Beyoncé’s brand to bring in major revenue.  In 2020, analysts indicated that Ivy Park could end up outperforming Kanye’s Yeezy Brand as a top earner for Adidas. Unfortunately, it seems those predictions weren’t entirely accurate as Ivy Park sales reportedly declined drastically in the past year.

Beyoncé’s Ivy Park x Adidas Is $200M In The Hole: WJS

According to the Wall Street Journal, Ivy Park sales suffered heavily in the past year as a result of “weak sales.” Despite the online hype, sales for Ivy Park dropped by 50%, down to $40M in 2022 — an 86% gap from what they initially anticipated. Experts predicted Ivy Park would generate $250M in sales last year. Adidas now has a $200M hole among its projects. With the Yeezy brand now gone from its roster, it appears that Adidas needs to restrategize for its next drops with Ivy Park.

Despite the report, a rep for Adidas asserted that their partnership with Ivy Park is “strong and successful,” in a statement to Fast Company. “As part of our valued strategic partnership with Ivy Park, we continue to be inspired by our collective vision and are proud of the work we have created together,” the rep continued. Beyoncé and Ivy Park are currently revving up to release the PARK TRAIL collection on February 9th, which the singer described as her “favorite drop to date” in a post shared on Instagram.

Someone In LA Hired A Skywriter To Celebrate Beyoncé’s Historic Night At The Grammys

Despite everything, Beyoncé’s Grammys night was still historical, as she became the most-awarded artist in history with her win for Best Dance/Electronic album for Renaissance. She’s been receiving praise from all directions ever since — including from former First Lady Michelle Obama — including up in the air.

Fans in Los Angeles — home of the Grammys, which were held at LA’s Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night — were greeted with a delightful sight today as a skywriter flew across the gorgeous blue sky, leaving behind a congratulatory message addressed to the queen. “Beyonce, you made history!” it read. Oddly enough, no information has surfaced regarding the message’s origin or sponsor.

Although fans were disappointed when Bey missed out on the Album Of The Year award (she’s been shut out four times to date, although all of her albums have won at least one Grammy), her husband Jay-Z wasn’t sweating it. “I remove myself from the process and hope they just get it right,” he said. “It got to the point where I was like, it’s just a marketing thing. You go, you got an album out and it could help the sales go up.”

Meanwhile, others who attended the ceremony were grateful just to have been in her presence. Breakout Memphis star GloRilla joked on Facebook that after hugging Beyoncé, she’s “never taking a bath again” and getting her “15-minute conversation with Beyoncé tatted.” Way to keep things in perspective, Glo!

What Is Jay-Z’s Opinion About Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance?’

Jay-Z has long been open about his mixed feelings about the Grammys. In his and wife Beyoncé’s 2018 single “Apesh*t,” he famously rapped, “Tell the Grammys, ‘F*ck that 0 for eight sh*t,’” after being nominated eight times that year, but not winning a single award. But still, he will make his impact on the culture known by maintaining a presence at the ceremony each year.

This year, he was super adamant about his wife receiving her much-due flowers. In an interview with Tidal conducted before this year’s Grammys, Jay said he feels that Bey’s seventh studio album, Renaissance was objectively the Album Of The Year.

“Look what it’s done to the culture. Look how the energy of the world moved,” Jay said. “They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint — like, everything?! Every remix is amazing. Everyone’s inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one. From anybody, we’re just finding these joints out in the street.”

Renaissance, however, did not win the coveted Album Of The Year award, but ended up taking home the award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Songs from the album won several awards — “Break My Soul” for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, “Plastic Off The Sofa” for Best Traditional R&B Performance and “Cuff It” for Best R&B Song.

The aforementioned wins brought her total number of wins up to 32 Grammys throughout her career, making her the artist with the most Grammy awards.

JAY-Z Details Why 'Renaissance' Should Have Been AOTY: 'Look How the Energy of the World Moved'

The GRAMMYs got it wrong and awarded Album of the Year to Harry Styles instead of Beyonce. Many across the world believe Queen Bey was robbed again, including her husband JAY-Z.

Speaking with Elliott Wilson on TIDAL, HOV explained why Renaissance is the true album of the year.

“Look what it’s done to the culture. Look how the energy of the world moved. They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint — like, everything?! Every remix is amazing. Everyone’s inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one. From anybody, we’re just finding these joints out in the street. Somebody just did a joint over Suga Free the other day — you heard this joint? (JAY pulls out his phone and plays Suga’s “I’d Rather Give You My Bitch.”) It’s a West Coast classic. The DJ put Bey’s vocals over this at a party and it went crazy. “

During the conversation, JAY-Z also spoke about why he hit the GRAMMYs to perform the “GOD DID” verse. “We owe it to the culture and it ain’t even a burden. It’s a blessing.

Michelle Obama Warmly Congratulated Beyoncé For ‘Making History’ By Breaking A Grammys Record

A lot happened at the 2023 Grammy Awards this weekend, but the leading narrative throughout the evening was Beyoncé’s chase for history. She entered the night a few wins away from breaking the all-time record for most career Grammys, a record she did end up claiming. Congratulatory messages have poured in since then, and now Beyoncé has gotten one from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Obama shared a tweet about the record-breaking victory and wrote, “Congratulations @Beyonce for making history. Thank you for blessing us all with the music we live our lives to — the songs that keep us singing and dancing and talking. You deserve all this and more! [hearts emoji] [crown emoji].”

Obama, by the way, is also a Grammy winner: Her first nomination came in 2020, for her Becoming audiobook in the Best Spoken Word Album (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling) category, and she won. Husband and former President Barack Obama also has a couple Grammys to his name, for his audiobooks of Dreams From My Father: A Story Of Race And Inheritance and The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream.

Obama didn’t attend the Grammys, but current First Lady Jill Biden was on hand to award Bonnie Raitt’s “Just Like That” the Grammy for Song Of The Year.

Beyonce’s Stylist Reveals She Rocked Her ‘Natural Curly Hair’ At Roc Nation Brunch

bey

Beyoncé has slayed her golden tresses for decades and just like the rest of is, the queen has been rocking protective styles to protect her tresses. In the ’90s, it wasn’t uncommon to see her sporting micro and individual braided hairstyles. “The Brown Skin Girl” singer was om to lace fronts—just like the King of Pop Michael Jackason before they became mainstream. Her mother Tina Knowles has often posted on social media combing through her daughter’s tresses to show that the girl has some serious length.

Well this year Queen Bey let loose for the Roc Nation Grammys Brunch rocking her own hair. Beyoncé stepped out with soft, natural wavy curls against her Gareth Pugh custom lewk. Her resident hairstylist Neal Farinah took to social media to confirm that the loose, undone texture is her actual curl pattern. Farinah captioned the singular post as “Keeping it natural: RocNation Brunch Part.” And to that we say, “period.”

Some Beyoncé Fans Got Waitlisted For The ‘Renaissance Tour’ And They’re Really Over It

Beyoncé broke many records last night (February 5) at the Grammy Awards, and fans are ready to break their piggy banks open to join in the celebration at the Renaissance World Tour.

Not only is the “Cuff It” singer now the most-awarded musician on record for the annual music event, but she also became the first Black woman to win in the Best Dance/Electronica Album category. With her four wins, each of the Houston native’s solo albums has earned at least one Grammy Award. After losing Album Of The Year (AOTY) to Harry Styles, who didn’t have the best vocal showing during the event, the Beyhive is ready to show the British pop star how it is done with footage from the Renaissance World Tour.

However, if witnessing their beloved Queen Bey lose out on AOTY to Styles wasn’t hard enough, many found themselves on the losing end of Ticketmaster’s new pre-sale raffling system. Swedish pop star Zara Larsson may have a professional hook-up to help her secure tickets. Still, many of Beyoncé’s fans have lost all hope of securing tickets. To avoid crashing their site and to deter scalpers from gauging the ticket price, those interested in attending a show were required to enter a raffle using their email address. If selected, you were given a limited window to purchase your desired tickets using the custom code provided in the email. Those not selected received an email informing them that they were added to the waitlist. If tickets remain after the first wave of buyers finishes, they can purchase a ticket based on the remaining availability.

From the rumored ticket prices and the high demand, some card-carrying Beyhive members are either preparing to sit this tour out or are taking to social media to beg for their “waitlisted” status to be lifted.

GloRilla Was So Elated By Her Conversation With Beyoncé At The Grammys That She Wants To Get It Tattooed

GloRilla may have walked away from last night’s Grammy Awards empty-handed, but her spirit is full. Despite her not taking home a gramophone trophy for Best Rap Performance, the Memphis native still had a breakout night. Not only did the “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” rapper perform her record as part of the ceremony’s 50th-anniversary tribute to hip-hop music, but she was also able to meet the most awarded musician in Grammy history, Beyoncé.

GloRilla managed to sneak in a brief chat with Beyoncé near her table between performances and acknowledgments. Then, the rapper took to her personal Facebook page to relive the moment, writing, “I hugged Beyoncé. I’m never taking a bath again.” In another post, writing, “I’m finna get my 15-second conversation with Beyoncé tatted. Ahh! I’m still not over it.”

While GloRilla hasn’t shared what the pair discussed, she did grab a selfie video during the ceremony with Beyoncé declaring her love for the singer, “I love you so much,” GloRilla says with a full smile with the caption, “I met Beyoncé — bye. My life is complete.”

Well, it seems GloRilla is living out the lyrics to her song “Tomorrow 2” as she raps, “Every day the sun won’t shine, but that’s why I love tomorrow.” But, of course, GloRilla knows the awards will come later, so she’s set on enjoying the present moment.
