Avril Lavigne And Tyga Probably Weren’t On Your 2023 Bingo Card But They Just Confirmed They Are Dating

It looks like pop superstar Rihanna isn’t the only musician to find love in a hopeless place. “Ay Caramba” rapper Tyga and indie rock legend Avril Lavigne have reportedly also found the same type of love deep within one another. Late last month, the pair first sparked dating rumors after being spotted out hugging in the parking lot of the famous restaurant Nobu in Los Angeles.

Now, according to TMZ has shared that the musicians are, in fact, a couple (we’re coining them, Tygav). While attending the Mugler X Hunter Schafer Party, earlier today (March 6) as part of Paris Fashion Week, the duo wasn’t shy about putting on a full show of affection in front of the paparazzi.

After the rumors first hit social media, users raised several questions. Firstly, when did Lavigne and Mod Sun call off their engagement? Sun quickly took to his Instagram page to confirm not only did he and Lavigne split, but it had only happened a week ago (at the time), making the news of her new budding romance with the rapper even more difficult to stomach.

Secondly, why? Lavigne and Tyga have both been linked to different members of Jenner/Kardashian family. Tyga has dated Kylie Jenner, and Lavigne’s ex is Jenner’s brother Rob. The same Rob that has a daughter with Blac Chyna, with whom Tyga also shares a son.

Now that the rumors have been seemingly confirmed by social media, users are sounding off yet again. Check out their responses below.

Tyga & Avril Lavigne Photographed Kissing At Paris Fashion Week

Tyga and Avril Lavigne were just spotted kissing at Paris Fashion Week following intense rumors online. While neither party has confirmed a fling in, say, an Instagram post, the smooch certainly makes things hard to dent. Moreover, the assumed couple posted plenty of stylish fits on their socials in celebration of the fashion event. Still, as soon as pictures spread across social media, fans had a field day. Hopefully the two can make a proper assessment on their status without focusing on media breathing down their necks.

Furthermore, rumors started flying after the pop-punk singer’s split from Mod Sun. “Avril and Mod Sun have been on and off for the past two months, but are no longer together as a couple,” an insider said. “Avril and Tyga are genuinely friends and nothing more,” added a source to PEOPLE. “There was absolutely no third party involved in the split.” Meanwhile, one of Mod Sun’s reps expressed surprise at the news. “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him,” they expressed. “Mod will be performing tonight in Portland at The Hawthorne Theater.”

Tyge & Avril Lavigne Spotted Kissing

Not only that, but the first time the two artists in question sparked gossip was a NOBU date. After they left in the same vehicle, many caught the hint that something deeper was going on. Amid their outings in Paris, Mod actually took to Instagram to share his feelings. “In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all,” he wrote. “I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken [broken heart emoji]. Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”

Of course, many fans expressed shock at the pairing, but that’s the way love goes sometimes. It’s unclear whether all this speculation is due to an actual relationship between the two. Still, time will tell if things are official, and Twitter will continue to light a fire over it. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest updates on Tyga and Avril Lavigne.

Avril Lavigne & Tyga Relationship Rumours Fly After Another Paris Fashion Week Date

Since rising to fame as a Canadian pop-punk artist over two decades ago, Avril Lavigne has dated an interesting roster of men. It begins with her guitarist, Jesse Colburn in 2002 (potentially the inspiration for “Sk8r Boi?). After him comes Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. As E! reports, she and Brody Jenner tattooed each other’s name in 2010 but eventually broke up in early 2012. After that, she met her first husband, Chad Kroeger.

The Nickleback frontman and his blonde beauty tied the knot on Canada day in July 2013, but their marriage lasted only two years before Lavigne shared news of their breakup via Instagram. Phillip Sarofin, a billionaire’s son, and Pete Jonas of Jagwar Twin were who the “Girlfriend” hitmaker dated next, but neither relationship lasted long. In 2020 she met Mod Sun while making music, and after a whirlwind romance, the two were engaged by March 2022.

After they shared the big news, the creative couple seemed to be going strong. However, in the final week of February, Lavigne was seen snuggling up to “Rack City” artist Tyga for a hug outside NOBU. At the time, the two left the restaurant in the same vehicle, and have been spotted out together regularly since. As the gossip began to circulate online, many expressed concern for Mod Sun, pondering the status of his engagement. Hours later, reports revealed that the pair called things off.

“[They’ve] been on and off for the past two months, but are no longer together as a couple,” a source said at the time. Additionally, they made it known that “Avril and Tyga are genuinely friends and nothing more. There was absolutely no third party involved in the split,” as speculation began brewing online. Even if they are strictly platonic, the increasing frequency of the two artist’s time together has social media expecting a relationship confirmation from them soon.

Fashion Week Fun

Late last week, the rumoured lovers made headlines for attending a Paris Fashion Week runway show together. A few days later, paparazzi cameras caught them showing up at Leonardo DiCaprio’s party in the city of love. On Sunday (March 5), they were at Ottolinger’s presentation, where Lavigne donned a grey miniskirt and an oversized white shirt.

For his part, the father of one wore a matching jacket and trousers in a cool grey shade, using sunglasses to shield his eyes. There wasn’t noticeable PDA between the pair at any show, though we’re eager to see if they become more friendly at future events. Rumors Swirl Surrounding Tyga and Avril Lavigne Relationship

Tyga reportedly dating Avril Lavigne

Hip-hop artist Tyga has a long history of being romantically linked to high-profile female celebrities, but his newest rumored romantic interest, pop star Avril Lavigne, has caught many people by surprise.

Rumors started swirling when the two were spotted dining at Nobu together with friends and hugging outside the restaurant on Saturday night before leaving together. (TMZ caught pictures, which can be seen here.)

While one source told People, “Avril and Tyga are genuinely friends and nothing more,” other sources claim that the two are dating.

The news might come as a shock to many, including Lavigne’s (reportedly ex) fiance, singer-songwriter Mod Sun. While some sources say that the two called off their engagement earlier this month, others say that Mod Sun was unaware that the pair were over.

Both parties have their own celebrity-filled dating rosters. Tyga shares a child with ex Blac Chyna and also dated Kylie Jenner for four years. He has also been linked to Iggy Azealia, Kiely Williams, and several models and “influencers.” Lavigne actually dated Brody Jenner, who is the stepbrother of Kylie Jenner, Tyga’s ex. In 2013, Lavigne married Chad Kroeger of Nickelback before divorcing two years later and moving on to Phillip Sarofim, the son of Texan billionaire Fayez Sarofim before dating Pete Jonas in 2020 and then finally, Mod Sun.

Neither has publicly commented on the rumors with Tyga promoting his upcoming Las Vegas residency and Lavigne promoting her new music on Instagram.

Are Tyga And Avril Lavigne Dating?

Look. I have never understood people’s fascination with celebrity couples. But even my usual level of confusion pales to the neck-breaking double take I just pulled at TMZ’s latest celebrity gossip report. Of all the famous people most of us — and by most, I mean like 99.99 percent — would never have expected to be romantically linked to each other, Avril Lavigne and Tyga would have been at the top of the list… provided anyone ever thought they even knew each other.

And yet, there they are at Nobu, reportedly hugging it out in the parking lot before leaving together in the same car. According to TMZ’s notorious “sources,” the two have actually been spending a lot of time together.

However, they might just be friends. As TMZ also points out, Lavigne was recently engaged to Minnesota alt-musician Mod Sun. They dated from 2021 to March 2022 when they announced their engagement, although Mod Sun had previously dated two women in a polyamorous relationship, so the possibility remains open.

Meanwhile, there is a link between Lavigne and Tyga: Both dated members of the Jenner/Kardashian family. Tyga was previously linked with Kylie Jenner, while Lavigne had previously dated Jenner’s brother Rob (who has a child with Blac Chyna, with whom Tyga also shares a child). For now, any dating rumors between the two are pure speculation — but speculation that has fans flabbergasted.

Avril Lavigne & Tyga Hug Outside NOBU, Artists Leave Dinner In Same Vehicle

In the week following Valentine’s Day, there’s been plenty of relationship drama playing out in the media. The situation surrounding Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox continues to captivate curious fans as the actress denies any rumours of infidelity. At the same time, their good friend Avril Lavigne has been spending plenty of time with a certain rapper lately.

As TMZ notes, the Canadian rocker was engaged to Good Mourning creator Mod Sun last March. Earlier this month he spoke candidly with E! News about a song dedicated to her on his recently released God Save The Teen album, called “Avril’s Song.” Speaking on his relationship, the artist said, “I have found such a partner in this world to go through the chaos that life gives you. I have found that person. I’m with a real grown woman who has gone through it all 10 times over. She makes me a better person.”

So… Why is Avril Cozying Up with Tyga?

As shown in the images above, Lavigne was photographed outside NOBU in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 19). At the time, she was grabbing dinner with a group of friends – including “Rack City” hitmaker Tyga. In the snapshots circulating online, they stand by the restaurant’s valet booth and share a hug while waiting for their vehicles.

It turns out the unexpected duo was travelling together from the popular eatery. Many thought their public display of affection was nothing more than a goodbye hug. Now that we know they left NOBU in the same car, though, eyebrows are being raised online. A source tells TMZ that Lavigne and Tyga have become close recently. The nature of their relationship, however, remains unclear at this time.

Avril’s Relationship with Mod Sun

The pair’s aforementioned engagement took place in the world’s most romantic city – Paris. They romanced each other for approximately a year before the creative popped the question. On his new single dedicated to the “Sk8er Boi” artist, Mod markedly sings about Lavigne helping him through some of his darkest days and suicidal struggles.

“She blew me a kiss, And I didn’t wanna blow my brains out anymore / And she is everything I’m not. Without her, I am lost,” are among the lyrics penned by the 35-year-old on “Avril’s Song.” Reports reveal that Mod Sun wasn’t at dinner with his partner and Tyga over the weekend, however, they did attend a pre-Grammys party as a couple earlier in February. Check back later for any updates on the situation.

The Weeknd And Tate McRae Lead The 2023 Juno Awards Nominations

While the next week will rightfully see plenty of focus on the upcoming Grammy Awards, our neighbors up north have announced the nominees for their equivalent, the Junos. Sorry Canadians, but “Canadian Grammys” is pretty much the most convenient metaphor to get Americans to grasp the importance of the Junos — blame G.W. Bush.

The field is led (again) this year by Canada’s number-one pop export, The Weeknd, who’s nominated for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, Pop Album Of The Year, Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year for “Sacrifice,” and Songwriter Of The Year awards. Meanwhile, resurgent rocker Avril Lavigne and pop neophyte Tate McRae follow with five apiece. They’re followed by Preston Pablo and The Reklaws, with three nominations each.

Lavigne’s nominations include Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year (“Bite Me”), Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and Pop Album Of The Year. McRae is up for the same awards, with “She’s All I Wanna Be” nominated for Single Of The Year.

The Junos will be held on March 13 and broadcast live from Rogers Place in Edmonton on CBC Television, hosted by back-to-back emcee Simu Liu. You can check out the full list of nominees on JunoAwards.CA.
