ASAP Rocky Proclaims His Love For Rihanna With The Ghetto-Fabulous ‘DMB’ Video

ASAP Rocky and Rihanna are super official in the video for Rocky’s new single “DMB” (Dat’s My Bitch). The smoothly edited video sees the two stars hanging out in Rocky’s hometown, Harlem, where they sip wine on the fire escape, shop at flea markets, and low-key stunt all over town. The video is shot on grainy, low-res tape, giving the whole thing a warm, home-movie vibe that matches the downmarket, uptown sensibilities of the song — and really, the couple’s whole relationship.

There’s also a scene of RIhana repeatedly meeting up with Rocky as he leaves jail — a scene that finds art imitating life. Rocky was recently arrested by the LAPD as the couple returned from Rihanna’s native Barbados on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Police have been investigating claims that the rapper shot at another man in November of 2021, grazing the victim’s hand. Since then, though, Rocky and Rihanna have mostly focused on preparing for the birth of their child together, throwing a rave-themed baby shower.

Police Secure Footage Of The Alleged ASAP Rocky Shooting But Not The Actual Gun That Was Used

Los Angeles police say they have secured possible footage of the shooting allegedly committed by ASAP Rocky, according to TMZ. Although they did not release any details, it’s believed that the footage came from a nearby surveillance camera and if it’s clear enough, could be the evidence the police need to prove their case. Unfortunately for them, though, none of the guns they seized from Rocky’s Los Angeles home matched the weapon that was used in the shooting; shell casings found at the scene were of a caliber that did not match Rocky’s guns.

In addition, all of the guns they found at Rocky’s home were legally purchased and registered, which police confirmed by checking their serial numbers. According to TMZ’s sources, none of the guns were even removed from the house, since officers could tell they weren’t the same caliber as the shell casings. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles District Attorney still has not charged Rocky, since there isn’t enough evidence to proceed to trial yet.

Rocky was arrested at LAX last week as he returned from Barbados on a private flight with the pregnant Rihanna. A victim in a November 2021 shooting had identified the rapper as the perpetrator, claiming Rocky shot at him three or four times and grazed his hand. Rocky was released after posting bail — set at $550,000 — and has since been seen with Rihanna at various events, including their rave-themed baby shower.

At the end of January, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky shocked the world by announcing that they were expecting their first child. Since then, we’ve received reactions from Rihanna’s dad, promises from her to continue making music, romantic details about a road trip the couple enjoyed together, and an equal amount of engagement and cheating rumors (which were both debunked). Nearly three months later, it seems like Rihanna is giving birth to her first child and a good sign of that comes after the couple held a baby shower. The event was a private and intimate one, but some details about it still emerged.

According to Paper, which cites a HipHollywood report, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky switched things up and threw a “rave-themed” baby shower this past Friday at a studio in Hollywood. The event was described as both “over the top” and “super intimate and private” as attendees were asked to show up in bright neon attire. Party favors from the night included a 90s throwback t-shirt with photos of Rihanna and Rocky as kids. The shirt read, “I Went 2 Rih & Rocky’s Rave Shower and All I Got Was This Amazing Shirt.”

Many were unsure if the baby shower would still go down as ASAP Rocky was recently arrested in connection with a November 2021 shooting. He allegedly shot at a man three or four times during an altercation, and as a result, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon charge. Police Say They Found Guns At ASAP Rocky’s House In Their Raid After His Arrest

LAPD claims to have confiscated several guns from the home of ASAP Rocky after his arrest at LAX last week and a subsequent raid in which officers tried to use a battering ram to open his gate. TMZ reports that LAPD’s search yielded a number of weapons that the police will test to find out if any were used in an alleged shooting in November 2021. The victim in that shooting claims that Rocky shot him in the hand. Police will also run background checks on the weapons to determine their ownership.

Rocky was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, April 20 after returning from Barbados with his pregnant girlfriend Rihanna. Shortly after the arrest, but before Rocky was able to post his $550,000 bail, police raided his home, with a passerby capturing footage of officers fumbling with the gate at the home and later leaving with “a box of potential evidence.”

The rapper has an extensive history of legal issues in his native New York, where he spent time on Riker’s Island for selling drugs and has been involved in several fights that ended with him being charged with assault, but nothing involving guns. His most high-profile arrest was in 2019, when he was held for two months in Sweden after a fight in Stockholm. In that case, he was released ahead of trial and found guilty in absence, but given a suspended sentence.

A$AP Rocky’s arrest has seemingly put a hold on celebrating his forthcoming baby with Rihanna. According to The Sun, Rihanna “has been crying non-stop.”

“She’s heavily pregnant and these are very serious accusations,” a source said. “It’s a nightmare scenario for her.

“Rihanna was very, very upset and stressed by Rocky’s arrest. It’s not the best time for her to be on such an emotional rollercoaster,” the source added.

A$AP Rocky was arrested as he returned to LAX on last Wednesday morning. According to TMZ, the rapper arrived at the airport on a private jet from Barbados and was met by officers at the terminal and arrested. The charges for Rocky were assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon was a gun. Rocky was returning to America after vacationing with his girlfriend, Rihanna.

The assault is believed to occur on November 6, 2021, when Rocky allegedly shot at the victim three or four times, grazing him on the left hand, NBC News reports. The shooting reportedly happened near Vista Del Mar and Selma Ave. around 10:20 pm. Two additional men reportedly accompanied Rocky. Rocky was on hand the next day for Complex Con on November 7.

The alleged victim stated the shooting happened after an argument between the two. The LAPD says Rocky knows the victim who helped them identify the rapper as a suspect. Offers also executed a search warrant at Rocky’s home, ramming their way through his front gate.
