Cordae & Anderson .Paak Have Enough Tracks For EP, More J. Cole Beats

Fresh off of the release of his new Anderson .Paak-assisted single, Cordae says more is to come from the dynamic duo. This week, the pair dropped “Two Tens,” an applause-worthy collaboration that hosts a production by J. Cole. Cordae and .Paak’s talents collided once before in 2019 on “RNP,” so it was only fitting that they joined forces once again.

Cordae recently spoke with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1 about his relationship with .Paak. “You know what, it’s because this is really my friend,” the rapper said. “He’s really like, my real friend, like my brother. Other artists be like, ‘Oh, that’s my brother,’ or, ‘Oh, that’s my man.’ And saying that sh*t just to sound cool. I don’t really have too many friends, to be honest.”

“We just be kicking it, and we just be recording,” Cordae continued. “It won’t be like, ‘Yo, let’s just put this out next week.’ It’ll be like, ‘Yo, this song is a couple years old.’ You know what I’m saying? So, I’m like, man, I’m going to just hold on to this. And when the time feels right, it feels right.”

Additionally, “Two Tens” isn’t the only Cole-produced record they have on the books. In fact, there’s enough in the stash for an EP.

“You know what’s funny, we literally got a mixtape full of joints with me and .Paak,” he said. “Well, we got an EP full of joints with me, .Paak, and Cole beats.”

Elsewhere, Cordae revealed he’s been spending his time recording and perfecting his craft. He claims to have made 180 songs in the last year alone, and he’s proud of that number, regardless of how many his peers are cranking out.

“Just trying to make it better, bro. Just never being satisfied. And really, bro, it may be to a fault or a good thing, but I’m a people pleaser. So, I really want to just make good music that the fans love. I just don’t want to disappoint anybody, for real.”

Cordae Has Enough Songs With Anderson .Paak And J. Cole For A Full EP

In a new interview with Zane Lowe, Cordae says he has enough songs with “RNP” and “Two Tens” collaborators Anderson .Paak and J. Cole to release a full EP.

And if I may be so bold, he should release that immediately, just for me, because it would make me very happy.

Cordae appeared on the Apple Music 1 radio show to talk about the new track, “Two Tens,” and during the course of the discussion, revealed that not only has he recorded enough songs for the above-mentioned EP, but he’s also got about 17 full-length albums besides that.

“I made a lot of songs last year,” he said. “I think last year I recorded literally 180 songs. I know some artists record like a thousand songs, but it feels like that’s the most songs I recorded in the year, for sure. Last year, it was also the most touring I did, so I’m proud of myself for still recording 180 songs.”

While discussing his chemistry with .Paak, he revealed the wealth of material he’d recorded with the older artist. “We literally got a mix tape full of joints of me and .Paak on — well, we got an EP full of joints with me, .Paak, and Cole beats… It’s because this is really my friend. Other artists be like, ‘Ph that’s my brother,’ or, ‘Oh that’s my man,’ saying that sh*t just to sound cool. I don’t really have too many friends, to be honest. He’s one of my real life genuine friends.”

Cordae And Anderson .Paak Go Back-To-Back With Their ‘RNP’ Collab Chemistry On The Mellow ‘Two Tens’

Cordae and Anderson .Paak — who made one hell of a team on “RNP” from Cordae’s debut album The Lost Boy — reunite for some more collaborative chemistry on mellow new single, “Two Tens.”

“Two Tens” is a stark departure from the upbeat “RNP,” replacing the bouncy funk of their first team-up with jazzy neo-soul. But other than that, the formula remains the same as the two rappers, 11 years apart, pass the mic and trade four-bar sequences back and forth like the NBA’s illest two-man weave.

Content-wise, it’s also very similar to “RNP,” as the two rappers smoothly boast and brag about their female companions for the night. Cordae tries to set AP straight but AP just wants to have fun.

Likewise, the video is a throwback that follows the boys as they slide to the club, where they party with some enthusiastic women. Even though there’s some slight friction, they show mutual appreciation for each other’s situation, leading to a celebratory evening for all.

Although Cordae hasn’t officially announced his third album yet, “Two Tens” sounds like a strong start to the 25-year-old’s 2023, picking up where “Checkmate” left off.

Freddie Gibbs Performed A Satin-Smooth ‘SSS’ Medley With Anderson .Paak On ‘Fallon’

Freddie Gibbs showed off his “Aquaman lungs” on Monday night (January 23) on The Tonight Show with Anderson .Paak to perform a medley of songs from his major-label debut album, Soul Sold Separately. Gibbs’ gift for breath control is already legendary but last night, a huge audience got to witness his prowess as he blazed through satin-smooth renditions of “Blackest In The Room” and “Feel No Pain.”

Dappered down in an all-black two-piece suit, Gibbs appeared not to take a breath as he recited his rapid-fire lyrics backed by The Roots. .Paak kept his usual ’70s-inspired look, with a fur-cuffed jacket and his signature cabbie hat, brushing the dirt off Gibbs’ shoulders.

Although Soul Sold Separately (and its recently-released deluxe edition) is barely half a year old, Gibbs refuses to rest on his laurels. He recently revealed that he’s currently working on as many as four albums at once, including his oft-teased R&B album.

Watch Freddie Gibbs’ late-night performance on The Tonight Show above. He’s also expressed a wish to branch out dramatically with more film and television roles after the positive reception for his feature debut, Down With The King, so don’t be surprised if the next time we see him with Jimmy Fallon and the gang, he’s sitting on the couch with that 1,000-watt smile beaming.

Anderson .Paak Spent The Holidays By Making A Fake ‘Cribs’ Episode At His Mom’s Adorable House

Anderson .Paak celebrated the holidays with his family in a hilarious way: by making his mom a fake episode of MTV’s Cribs. After he bought her a four-bedroom house in Las Vegas in 2019, he enlisted photographer Isabel Ramos to help show off the special property.

The video, which .Paak posted on his Instagram, has the same classic Cribs logo and graphic style. “WAIT MY MOM WAS ON @mtv #CRIBS ?!?!? SICK!!!” he captioned.

His mother plays along in the skit, as she answers the door.

“Merry Christmas, Happy New Year,” she greets. “I’m Brenda, Anderson .Paak’s mother.”

From there, the video shows some family photos before jumping into a short reel of videos of .Paak’s career. “Come on into my humble abode,” Brenda welcomes.

“Let’s check out my living room, my kitchen, and my dining area,” she gestures. In typical mom fashion, she has vegan butter in the fridge and framed signs that read “But first, coffee” and “Wine a little, laugh a lot.” Brenda does some cooking in the process of filming.

In her home, she also supports her musician son with posters of Silk Sonic, his rug merch, and his snare drum collection. There are also loads of other surprises in the fun video as .Paak himself even makes an appearance.

BTS’ RM Moves Through Imaginative Visuals In His Video For The Anderson .Paak Collab ‘Still Life’

BTS may be on hiatus, but that’s not stopping the highly-anticipated solo projects coming through. Over the summer, we got J-Hope and his EP Jack In The Box. In October, we got Jin and his hit single “The Astronaut,” co-written with Coldplay. Now, we have RM with his first full studio album Indigo.

As last Friday marked the album’s release, promotions for tracks on the solo project are well underway. After the release of the “Wild Flower” music video, the BTS leader unveils the video to Indigo‘s second track, the Anderson .Paak-featuring “Still Life.”

In his Tiny Desk Concert on NPR last Friday, RM revealed the inspiration behind the track was based on a trip to a museum and coming across a painting of the same name.

“When I see ‘Still Life,’ like the canvas,” RM said on the series. “My life is like a canvas. I’m exhibiting my life to the whole world, everywhere.”

Throughout the music video RM moves and grooves through various still scenes. At one point, he’s stuck in time inside of a train and the other he’s in a blank space moving graphics with his magic hands.

The concept of “Still Life” follows the overall theme of Indigo, where the album acts as an art exhibit curated by RM.
