Cardi B fans are sick and tired of all the updates, news, promises, and expectations surrounding her highly anticipated sophomore album. It’s been over six years since we got Invasion Of Privacy, and despite huge singles and enduring relevance, die-hards are feeling desperate for something concrete. But it’s been too long for them to really muster up much more excitement than what they already have. Moreover, she took to Instagram Live on Sunday night (November 17) to give fans yet another update on the sophomore LP, indicating that the album will come out next year rather than this year like she promised… Again.
“I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” Cardi B shared on the social media platform. “Because I know next year is going to be my f***ing year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the f**k happened this year, I can’t even tell you. […] [I] fell in love. Then fell out of love, then got a divorce. […] I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my f***ing life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my s**t together. Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m h*e-less right now. I gotta get my s**t together.”
Cardi B also added that she spent a lot of time partying this year, and hopes to take a significant break and refocus herself. This is the latest disappointing update from her following her promise earlier this year to Rolling Stone that the album would be out before 2024 wraps up. “I take my music so f***ing seriously that that’s why I don’t put it out. Because if it’s not perfect to my ear, if every f***ing word doesn’t sound like it’s pronounced right, if the beat is overpowering the words or the words is overpowering the beat, I don’t want to put it out.”
Meanwhile, a lot of Cardi B fans expressed their anger online, supported her decision, or indicated that they stopped believing her or caring a long time ago. That’s definitely not what you want to hear from your fanbase, but we don’t blame them for being particularly hard on her. After all, it has been six years since Invasion Of Privacy, and all these promises and delays and updates and teases are just a lot. Hopefully this time, the year doesn’t go on for too long before we finally get the LP.
It has been six years since the release of Cardi B’s debut album Invasion Of Privacy. Throughout the years, Cardi has given fans a steady stream of singles. However, it has taken forever for the album to come out. Every time fans think the project is coming, something happens and it gets pushed back. At this point, some have lost hope. Meanwhile, all of the rumors and comments from Atlantic Records have suggested that the album is set to drop later this year.
Yesterday, Cardi B announced that she was pregnant. Furthermore, it was revealed that she was getting a divorce from Offset. This was all a lot for fans to take in. Not to mention, it had some questioning whether or not the album would come out. After all, her two life announcements are certainly a lot to handle all at once. Well, according to TMZ, sources close to the artist have confirmed that the album is, indeed, going to be released later this year.
An official release date has not been given. At this stage, we don’t even know what the album will be called. However, it is encouraging to hear that something will be coming out this year. Only time will tell when the official announcement will take place. All we know is that Cardi’s fans have been waiting patiently for over half of a decade.

JID and Metro Boomin are two of hip-hop’s most in-demand artists right now without question. Both have put together some of the best projects, especially in the mainstream, through the halfway mark of the 2020 decade. For the superstar producer, you have him and 21 Savage’s SAVAGE MODE II and HEROES & VILLAINS. Additionally, WE DON’T TRUST YOU and its quick follow-up WE STILLDON’T TRUST YOU are some of the biggest of 2024, partially due to their fueling of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. For JID, it is not as expansive of a catalog. However, The Forever Story is arguably the most complete body of work over the last four years.
These reasons are why it was such a huge deal when they revealed that they were in the process of cooking up a collaboration project back in March of 2023. Metro Boomin’s tweet basically set hip-hop Twitter ablaze, “Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop ”. JID then confirmed that it was an album and not just a single after one user originally claimed, “Metro Boomin Teases His Song With JID”. Since that bombshell, both have been repeatedly asked if it still in the works.
Each and every time, both of them have reassured fans and interviewers that they are still on course to get this done. JID did more of the same after a recent interview. “We’re working on that project every single day… We have so much music, it’s just about making it right… “It’s happening for sure”, JID clarified. He also vaguely hinted that he has been working on a ton of other things right now too, so who knows what that could mean. The only question is now, “when is the Metro tape happening?”. The Georgia rapper has previously not wanted to give anyone false on hope on that detail. We would not be surprised if it is not until later this year or maybe early 2025. Metro also recently just revealed that him and NAV are cheffing something up too, so no one should be too optimistic as of now.
What are your thoughts on JID claiming that his album with Metro Boomin is still on the way? Will this be one of the best trap tapes of all time when it drops? When do you see them dropping this and why? Do you want to see them grab any features for it? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding JID and Metro Boomin. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Ty Dolla Sign says that his next project with Kanye West, Vultures 2, is nearly complete and that fans can expect a new sound from the two as compared to their first effort together. He discussed the highly-anticipated project during an interview with Billboard published on Friday.
“We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’” he said. From there, he alluded to an evolution of their sound together. “Certain people will probably expect you to just do the same exact sound. But that sound’s already out,” he said. The latest details come after he made a huge update on the release during Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, last week. According to the NFR Podcast, he said: “The album is almost done and could be released any day now.”
Ty Dolla Sign & Kanye West Perform “Vultures 1” At Rolling Loud
Elsewhere in the interview with Billboard, he described West as “the best artist of this generation” other than himself. “I don’t give a f–k about what people were talking about,” he said. “I know my n—. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met,” he said. As for whether he was worried about West’s antics impacting the success of their record, he added: “Just with my analysis of how it goes with him, he goes all the way to the top. And something may happen and he’ll say [something people find offensive] — and then people [get] right back, you know. Because this sh-t is undeniable.”
Ye and Ty first teamed up for the first Vultures album back in January. They plan to release an entire trilogy together. Be on the lookout for further updates on Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West on HotNewHipHop.
ASAP Rocky and Rihanna recently stepped out for a pop-up event in Miami in celebration of his new Puma x F1 collab. They were spotted there yesterday, enjoying arcade games, racing simulators, and more. RiRi debuted a new bright pink hairdo, which fans can’t get enough of. Some even think it rivals her iconic red hair era.
During their appearance, Rocky also gave supporters an update on his eagerly anticipated album, Don’t Be Dumb. Fans have been waiting on the project for some time now, but luckily, it looks like they won’t have to wait too much longer. Upon being asked when listeners can expect to hear it, he replied simply, “ASAP. Very soon.”
Towards the end of last month, the “RIOT” rapper dropped some new merch in support of the upcoming album, which got fans speculating that the release of Don’t Be Dumb is finally on the horizon. An official release date has yet to be confirmed.
He’s not the only one working on a new album, however. At a Fenty Beauty launch party last week, Rihanna shared some new details of her own upcoming album, which fans have also been waiting on for years. She’s also yet to announce a release date, but she did set the bar high.
ASAP Rocky Says New Album Is Coming “Very Soon”
“It’s gonna be amazing,” she told Extra at the event. “It has to be — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away … There should be a show of growth, right?” What do you think of Rihanna and ASAP Rocky stepping out for a Puma pop-up event in Miami? What about RiRi’s pink hair? Are you looking forward to hearing ASAP Rocky’s upcoming album? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
One artist who has built a rapport with Akademiks is none other than Playboi Carti. Carti is an incredibly hard artist to pin down, so it’s impressive that Ak has been able to get anything from him. Months ago, Akademiks claimed that Carti’s album would be dropping soon. Subsequently, Carti went on to drop six singles without putting any of them on streaming services. This led to some distrust as fans have no clue what is really going on.
In the tweet above, you can see a recent video of Carti in a car with some women who are getting rowdy in the front seat. This prompted Akademiks to tweet “Carti Album OTW. 2024 Music.” Subsequently, fans reacted to this tweet with quite a bit of skepticism. After all, Carti never seems to actually give real updates on his projects. Perhaps a new song is coming tonight, although we won’t know until later in the day. Hopefully, Carti ends up surprising us and throws fans a bit of a bone.
Fans Are Skeptical
Let us know what you think of this update from DJ Akademiks, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is actually going to happen? If Carti does drop soon, what are your expectations for his album? Will it be among the best of the year? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
Few albums have achieved the cult status and enigmatic allure of Madvillainy. Likewise, not many albums are as anticipated as the long-awaited follow-up album, Madvillainy 2. The brainchild of Madlib and the late MF DOOM, the first album is a collaborative masterpiece that defied convention and continues to inspire. It’s no surprise fans have patiently waited, hoping and praying for Madvillainy 2 to drop. However, so far, the sequel album has eluded listeners even though its creators have said it exists.
Madvillainy turns 20 on March 18th, 2024, so evidently, fans have been waiting quite a while for Madvillainy 2. Following the unfortunate passing of MF DOOM in 2020, however, the optimism is slowly waning. Since Doom’s death, more and more fans have been left wondering if the album will ever be released. While some have completely lost hope, there is still a slight chance that listeners will get to experience Madvillainy 2 sometime in the future. Here are the updates the duo has given us about the album over the years.
2009: Exciting News Of A Sequel
On March 24, 2004, the supergroup Madvillain released their critically acclaimed debut album Madvillainy. It remains their sole album and it is widely regarded as a classic in Hip Hop circles. Fans have clamored for a continuation of the musical gem, and for a while, they were met with silence. However, in 2009, they finally received some very exciting news about Madvillainy 2. Stones Throw, the label that released Madvillainy, announced that the duo would reunite on the sequel album. Although no timeline for release was given, this news was enough to keep fans going.
2011: MF DOOM’s Interview With The Red Bull Music Academy
Subsequently, in late 2011, fans got another update about the possible release of Madvillainy 2. During an interview with the Red Bull Music Academy in November 2011, MF DOOM spilled the tea. The rapper shared that he and Madlib had been working on the album for a while and that it has been nearly done for about two years. Although he didn’t give a specific date for the album’s release, he did say that it should be out “soon.” According to DOOM, he wasn’t done with his part on the album, at the time. However, he disclosed that he would probably finish his part on Madvillainy 2 sometime in January 2012.
2012: MF DOOM Spills On BBC Radio 1
January 2012 went by, and fans hoped that meant that DOOM had finished with his part on Madvillainy 2. Many diehard fans who had seen the Red Bull interview were confident that a release date would finally be announced sometime soon. However, that was unfortunately not the case. After hearing nothing from Madvillain, fans finally got the next update about Madvillainy 2 in September 2012. During an appearance on Benji B’s late-night BBC Radio 1 show, which he co-hosted, DOOM shared that he only had to “touch up a couple of tracks” on the album. The rapper then said that there was still a possibility that the album would drop in late 2012. According to him, it depended on when Madvillain’s label, Stones Throw, would choose to release the project.
2014: Madlib’s Interview With Dazed
On January 9, 2014, Dazed published their interview with Madlib. Among the many things the DJ and producer spoke about, Madvillainy 2 was arguably the most exciting for fans. However, the news he shared about the album was not exactly what fans had hoped they would hear. When Madlib was asked about the album, he admitted that it was yet to be completed.
“I’m not forcing him to do it. He doesn’t even have to do it,” Madlib said referring to DOOM. “I just want to know where we are at with it because we recorded like, 10, 13 songs, but out of those we probably only used 4, so I want to see how the recordings are going. It’s not close to finished because it has to be a continuation of the last one. It doesn’t have to be better or worse but it has to be a continuation,” he added.
2021: Peanut Butter Wolf Spills The Beans
Apparently, the album was 85% done, according to Stones Throw Records founder, Peanut Butter Wolf. In a 2021 interview with Pete Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds on the Juan Ep Is Dead podcast, Wolf explained that DOOM submitted 11 songs for Madvillainy 2, though he wanted to add a few more records. “DOOM was always telling me ‘It’s 85% done, it’s 85% done.’ That was the magic number,” Wolf said, though he eventually began growing impatient. “I got a little frustrated, and I was just like, you know, ‘It’s gonna happen when it’s gonna happen.’ I don’t wanna be the guy to force creativity or anything.” However, he admitted that he wasn’t sure if those songs would ever see the light of day.
2023: Madlib’s Appearance On Hot 97
In March 2023, Madlib made an appearance on Hot 97 with Talib Kweli to promote their joint album, Liberation 2. While the aforementioned project was the primary reason for the interview, Madlib did give fans a new update on Madvillainy 2. This was several years after DOOM’s passing, and many fans had lost hope that the project would be released. However, Madlib successfully revived the excitement in the hearts of some fans.
“It’s more like a demo to me because we didn’t piece it together or anything and some of them it sounds like he just did one take and that’s it. [But] I’m gonna finish it. I gotta change a lot of the beats because some of the beats were used also,” he said. While there still is no release timeline or specific date, that’s a very clear confirmation from Madlib that Madvillainy 2 is still on the way. It may arrive later than we’d hoped it would, but according to Madlib, the album will come out sometime.

Kanye West’s Vultures is just three days away from dropping. His collaborative tape with Ty Dolla $ign has been mercilessly pushed back, tracklists have changed, and volumes have been added. It would not be a Ye release if things were not somewhat chaotic. Fans can finally expect this thing to finally release on Friday, February 9. The volume point is important because there are three of them. They will be dispersed throughout the next two months.
There are tons of exciting features on Kanye West’s Vultures such as Freddie Gibbs, Quavo, Lil Durk, Future, and more. The fact that we are receiving three separate albums is exciting and also familiar. Ye did this back in 2018 when he went on one of his most memorable trio runs. Kids See Ghosts, ye, and contributions to Pusha T’s DAYTONA presented some of his best work. Hopefully, these Vulture volumes will replicate that excellence to some degree.
We have some more riveting news about the rollout from HipHopDX. According to them, Ty Dolla $ign and Mr. West have announced the listening party details. They did so on their Instagram accounts with two simple posters. One says “Vultures United Center Chicago 02 08 24.” The next slide shows the number “1.” This indicates it will exclusively be for the first entry of the album, so there could be two more for the subsequent volumes. If this goes through on Thursday, this could be one of the biggest music events in the last few years.
What are your thoughts on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign hosting a listening party for Vultures and its first volume in Chicago this Thursday? Will they finally follow through with this, why or why not? Will this first installment be the best out of the three? Will this be as iconic as The Life of Pablo listening party? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Lil Uzi Vert is one of the more elusive artists we have going in modern hip-hop. Even though they usually promise projects that they announce, they take quite a while before they see the light of day. It does sound greedy to say that, though. We did just get the Pink Tape a few months ago. However, with in-demand artists, most want them to drop as much as possible. Uzi cut a deal with his fans that if they got his last album to number one, they would drop another project this year. While that has not come to fruition just yet, there is still a chance it will happen.
At a recent show, Uzi took a timeout to send their love and appreciation to their committed and patient fans. Uproxx, came across a Twitter video from the concert on which the Philadelphia rapper was extremely blessed to have great fans. “As long as I got respect from y’all, that’s all that matters. You know how many people in this s*** used me, disrespected me, that stole my whole style when I never gave a f***? As long as I got y’all, we gonna keep this s*** going.”
It is great to see when fans respect an artist’s craft and hard work and Uzi wanted to be sure that their supporters knew that. In addition to that heartfelt thank you, they also shared a big update. “So, I’mma keep rocking for now, and Luv Is Rage 3 is on the way.” While there is no release date, we do have some intel on the project. They put out a single for the album on YouTube a little bit ago, titled “NFL.” It may take some time, seeing as the rapper has repeatedly mentioned they have been going through a lot of personal issues. Some of these may include their romance with the City Girls’ JT. We continue to wish Uzi the best and we cannot wait to hear what they have in store for us with the next installment of this iconic series.
What are your initial thoughts on Lil Uzi Vert confirming that Luv Is Rage 3 is on the way? Are you wanting this album or Barter 16 first? What do you think the rapper is going through? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Lil Uzi Vert, as well as everything else going on around the music world.
