Rah Swish Returns With “Elevator Music”

Swish is perhaps best known for his collaboration with Pop Smoke on “Brush Em” back in 2021. That song peaked at number 1 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Billboard chart at the time. It appeared on Smoke’s posthumous album, Faith. Prior to the new album, he most recently released the mixtape 9 Shots in the Ruger in 2023.

Swish recently sat down with Revolt for an interview about the new project, during which he revealed where the idea for the title came from. “I had no name for about two months and was just trying to figure out how to flip elevation,” he said. “The project has a different vibe from myself and a mix of different songs. We’re trying to elevate and go to the top. One day, I was in the hotel pushing a button, and it wasn’t working because I had forgot to tap the key first. That’s when I thought, “Oh s**t, I can’t get up the elevator.” I just put it together and called it Elevator Music.” Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed nearly collaborating on another song with Pop Smoke, possibly working with Cash Cobain in the future, and more. Check out Swish’s latest project on Apple Music and Spotify above. Be on the lookout for further updates on Rah Swish on HotNewHipHop.

Timbaland Says “Vultures 2” Is “On The Way”

Timbaland has announced that Vultures 2 is “on the way” in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Prior to the release of Vultures 1, Timbaland confirmed he was a producer on what is expected to be a trilogy of albums over the next few months. There is a wealth of songs, including a “Everybody” featuring Charlie Wilson and a Backstreet Boys sample, that people have been eager to hear since they were omitted from Vultures 1.

However, for the time being, Vultures 1 will only enjoy a single week atop the Billboard Album 200. 2093, the latest album from breakout star Yeat, is expected to debut atop the Billboard Album 200. According to Hits Daily Double, 2093 is projected to sell around 72,600 units in its first week, which should be enough to deny Vultures 1 a second week at the top of the chart. However, it is not going to be a runaway debut for Yeat. Vultures 1 is projected to sell a little over 72,400 units in its second week. 2093 is light on features but does have tracks with Future, Lil Wayne, and Drake.

Kanye West’s “Carnival” Gets Intense Cover Art

Meanwhile, Kanye West recently unveiled the intense cover art for “Carnival”, one of the standout tracks from Vultures 1. Designed by noted Canadian artist Jon Rafman, the cover art for “Carnival” depicts a close-up of a screaming and bloodied skinhead. Rafman also created the AI-generated music video for “Vultures (Havoc Version)” which was released alongside the album. “Carnival” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Carnival” features Playboi Carti and Rich the Kid. As mentioned, it is widely considered one of the best tracks on Vultures 1. Many people have already called it the best song of 2024. However, the song proved controversial even before it was released. A version heard at a listening party in Chicago earned the ire of Ozzy Osbourne due to an uncleared sample of Black Sabbath. A later version at a Long Island listening party used a sample of Kanye’s “Hell of a life”, which interpolates the same Black Sabbath song.

Kanye West Posts Conversation About Lack Of “Vultures 1” Spotify Drop

Amid complaints that Vultures 1 has not dropped on Spotify, Kanye West shared a snippet of a conversation about two of the album’s producers asking the same thing. The conversation between “Wayne Create” and Traxster. In the conversation, Wayne says that the album not being on Spotify could hurt the album’s chart position. However, Traxstar assured him that Spotify “always lagged behind” in terms of availability for immediate releases.

The rollout of the long-awaited album has been a lot and chaotic. The album was briefly remvoed from Apple Music for 20 minutes for an unknown reason. However, fans have already declared it to be one of Kanye’s best. It is expected that Kanye will release parts two and three of the album across the next two months.

Rich The Kid Calls Kanye West “The GOAT”

Kanye West

Meanwhile, Rich the Kid has declared Kanye “the GOAT” during a sidewalk interview with Baller Alert. “He is the GOAT, no debate,” Rich said. It’s a fitting declaration as Rich recently collabed with Kanye and Playboi Carti for “Carnival”, which appears on the now-released Vultures I. “Carnival” also caused some pre-release controversy as Ozzy Osbourne claimed that the song contained an uncleared Black Sabbath sample.

Furthermore, the impromptu interview also saw Rich reveal that he is planning to drop a massive bet on the Super Bowl. Rich said he was going to place a $1 million bet on Sunday’s game. The Chiefs and 49ers face off in Vegas in a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl. An estimated $23.1 billion has been bet on the matchup. That eclipses the estimated $16B put down on bets for last year’s game between the Chiefs and Eagles. However, Rich refused to say which team he was putting his money on. Born and raised in Queens, it’s hard to say which team Rich will be backing.

Kanye West Compares Himself To R. Kelly, Bill Cosby, Jesus & Diddy On “Vultures”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign held their album listening party for Vultures last night (February 8) at Chicago’s United Center… and of course, it didn’t end up dropping. Who’s really surprised was our first question, but as they previewed more and more tracks, more pressing matters emerged. Moreover, there was a particular track that caught many listeners’ ears, and its title going around social media right now is “Carnival.” In it, the Chicago rapper makes reference to various “canceled” individuals, particularly entertainers accused of sex crimes, and as usual, drops a comparison to Jesus Christ, for good measure. ‘Cause, you know, it’s Kanye.

“Anybody p***ed off, gotta make them drink the urine/ Now, I’m Ye Kelly, b***h/ Now I’m Bill Cosby, b***h/ Now I’m Puff Daddy rich,” Kanye West raps on the previewed song. “That’s ‘Me Too’ me rich/ First she say she suck my d**k/ Then, she say she ain’t suck my d**k/ She ’gon take it up the a** like a ventriloquist/ I mean, since Taylor Swift, since I had the Rollie on the wrist/ I’m the new Jesus, b***h, I turn water into Cris’.”

Kanye West Previews “Carnival” At Vultures Event, “Cancels” Himself

Furthermore, this is alluding to Kanye West’s tendency to rope his personal life and circumstances into his music, whether specifically for his antisemitism or the backlash surrounding it, which is why he mentions movements like #MeToo. Whether or not you’re a fan of this, it’s hardly surprising or notable anymore given everything that’s happened up to this point. Even though this song didn’t drop officially, fans still have some new Ye material to chew on, for better or worse. He and Ty Dolla Sign dropped the “Vultures” music video, plus visuals for “Talking / Once Again.”

Meanwhile, with another listening party in New York tonight (February 9), maybe this is when the album will actually drop. Until then, Vultures seems more like a fleeting idea, performance art concept, or just a dream that we’re still living in. With bars like these, we just hope that there’s another side to the story to keep the balance. For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West, stick around on HNHH.

Sexyy Red Twerks Like There’s No Tomorrow To Celebrate “Hottest Hood Princess (Deluxe)” Release: Watch

Sexyy Red was twerking like the best of them as she celebrated the release of the deluxe version of Hottest Hood Princess. Red was turned all the way up at a release party, letting her booty shake like jello. Furthermore, Red’s impressive moves also showed that pregnancy isn’t slowing her down when comes to getting down. Check out the full video of Red’s posterior partying below.

The 30-minute addition to Red’s breakout album is stacked with talent. New arrivals to the album include Chief Keef, G Herbo, Sukihana, and Summer Walker. It’s an unapologetically NSFW addition to an already unapologetically NSFW album. However, at its heart, it’s clear that Red is in her element and having fun with the music she produces. The energy goes a long to help overcome the sometimes generic beats pulled straight out of the mid-2000s club scene.

Sexyy Red Twerks At Penn State Whiteout

Of course, this is far from the first time that Red has twerked on camera. However, she has developed a knack for shaking her a– in the most unusual of places. Back in September, the St. Louis rapper traveled up to State College to shake it at Beaver Stadium. As the Penn State announced hyped up the whited-out Nittany Lion faithful, a brief clip shared by Daily Loud caught the rapper getting hyped in her own way – twerking.

As for the game itself, Red was in for a treat. The then-No. 7 Nittany Lions ran rampant over the then-No. 24 Iowa Hawkeyes. Penn State QB Drew Allar only needed 166 yards to drop four TDs on the Hawkeye defense. Meanwhile, Penn State’s own defensive efforts were enough to limit Iowa’s quarterbacks to just six completions and the team to just 76 yards of offense. It was by far Iowa’s worst performance of the year, especially as their defense ended the regular season as fourth-best in the nation. In fact, the Hawkeyes set multiple records when it came to over/under betting. However, it simply wasn’t to be against Penn State.

Juicy J Promises 7 Albums Next Year, Seemingly Hints At Retirement

Juicy J has revealed that he plans to release seven albums in 2024. “I got about 7 albums I’m dropping 2024 I never worked this hard in my life,” the iconic rapper and producer wrote on X, formerly Twitter. However, he also lowkey hinted that he would be retiring after such a packed release schedule. “After this I’m gonna buy a house on the beach let my hair grow all the way out & become a full time hippie [trophy emoji] ya dig?” his post continued.

While Juicy released the mixtape Mental Trillness earlier this year, he hasn’t dropped a full album since 2020. The Hustle Continues peaked at #68 on the Billboard Album 200, a major jump from 2017’s Rubba Band Business, which barely charted at #191. However, few of Juicy’s solo projects have made much of a chart impact. His best solo project by far was 2013’s Stay Trippy. That peaked at #4 while also topping the US Rap album chart.

Juicy J Expresses Concern About The State Of Rap

Juicy’s plan to release seven albums next year comes after he expressed concern about the state of the music industry. Last month, Juicy proposed drastic measures to combat a decline in rap sales. “I don’t a lot of people don’t want to hear this, but rap music is down 40%. Check the charts. Check the math. What are we, as rappers, producers, composers, going to do about this shit. Because it’s down 40% this year. Do your research. This is a fact,” Juicy noted.

His solution was to host a roundtable of rap’s brightest minds. “Let’s have a conversation. What are we gonna do? We gotta figure some shit out. We gotta sit down and talk. Let’s have a meeting, let’s meet up somewhere and have a big ass f-cking meeting. Let’s talk about this sh-t, how we can turn this sh-t around. Because this is how we eat. This is how we make money,” he suggested. However, the industry will have to wait until next year to see if Juicy’s mammoth release schedule can help fix the problem he perceives in the business.

Kodak Black Vows To Be “Better” After Surprise Album, Name Drops Ariana Grande And Kylie Jenner In New Song

Kodak Black has made a vow to his fans after the surprise release of his album, When I Was Dead, earlier this week. “I vow to do better in any area I lack, or some slack needs to be picked up on. I must do better, I must do this shit. And I appreciate y’all, because if it was up to them, I’d have been out of here,” Black said on social media after the album dropped. the 18-track album includes three features – two from WizDaWizard and one from OG Bobby Billions.

Furthermore, the album is a follow-up to Black’s Pistolz & Pearlz, which came out earlier this year. That album, which came out in May, peaked at #19 on the Billboard Album 200. It was something of a chart disappointment after 2022’s Back for Everything. That offering peaked at #2, making it his best-performing album since 2018’s Dying to Live.

Black Name Drops Kylie Jenner And Ariana Grande

Furthermore, Black included two sizeable name drops in the album’s lead single. “Kylie Grande” gives away the name drops. However, for those who can’t parse it – the song references Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande. “I want Kylie Jenner twerkin’ to this/ And I want Ariana twerkin’ to this/ I want Kylie Jenner twerkin’ to this/ I want Ariana twerkin’ to this,” is how the song opens. It’s a pretty catchy start to the album, all things considered.

Additionally, further references to the pair can be found throughout the song. “My Kylie, I miss you, where would I be without my pistol?” & “Ayy, Kylie Jenner where you at I’m goin’ Scottie,” also appear in the song. Furthermore, Black also raps “I want Ariana Grande in here booty shakin’.” It’s unclear why he selected to Kylie and Ariana to rap about. However, maybe he will explain in a future post. 2 Chainz Announces Lil Wayne Collab “ColleGrove 2” Drops Next Month

2 Chainz has revealed that ColleGrove 2, his collab album with Lil Wayne, will be dropping sometime in November. “Me and Wayne’s album drops next month. This is a full circle moment,” Chainz told RockTheBells. Furthermore, the rapper spoke on the driving force behind the project. “It was built on a relationship. Wayne at the time, was the hottest artist in the world. He could’ve charged me eight million, but he didn’t,” he explained. It’s unknown if the album will feature anyone beyond Chainz and Wayne. However, fans won’t have to wait too long to find out now.

The news came almost exactly a year after Chainz initially said the album would be coming at the end of 2022. However, that statement made at a concert at USF didn’t come to pass. Instead, fans have had to wait an entire extra year for the much-hyped release. The album has been teased since 2020 and will serve as a follow-up to their unofficial collab, 2016’s ColleGrove.

2 Chainz And Lil Wayne Going All Out For ColleGrove 2

While we still don’t know a whole lot about the album, the pair are very excited about it. Additionally, they have revealed that they have gone all-in on making it one of the albums of the year. “We have two videos shot, photoshoot shot, (the) album’s mixed and getting mastered, so it’ll be coming sooner than later, and I’m really excited about it. It’s rapping at a high level — steel sharpens steel. And he’s one of the people that I enjoy working with the most,” Chainz said back in September.

However, ColleGrove 2 is not 2 Chainz’s only ongoing project. The veteran rapper is also serving as the host of Amazon Music Live‘s second season. The popular concert series airs directly after Amazon’s Thursday Night Football broadcast. Season 2 opened with Ed Sheeran and Lil Durk, with the most recent episode being Metro Boomin. Peso Pluma and Latto will have shows in the next two weeks. Are you excited about ColleGrove 2? Let us know in the comments.

Nicki Minaj “Pink Friday 2”: What We Know

Nicki Minaj’s upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, is already one of the decade’s most anticipated offerings. The rap icon’s last studio album was released in 2018, five years ago. While the rapper has consistently assisted with features here and there, and dropped a few singles along the way, the Barbz have been clamoring for a new album for quite some time. Well, the Queen is finally set to give them what they’ve been wanting for years.

Nicki Minaj is, without a doubt, one of the greatest female rappers of all time, if not the greatest. She has especially shattered numerous glass ceilings throughout her career. Furthermore, she has inspired a new generation of female rappers to pursue their dreams. With her fifth studio album prepped to drop in a few weeks, the rap giant is set to secure her legacy even further. Fans have been anxious since the album announcement, as another classic album is about to be added to her already impressive discography. Pink Friday 2 is scheduled to be released soon, and Nicki Minaj is rolling out in grand style.

Pink Friday 2 Singles

Even before its release, Pink Friday 2 has rightfully brought Nicki Minaj some deserved glory. The lead single from the album, “Super Freaky Girl” was released on August 12, 2022, and became a mega-hit. Moreover, it became the rapper’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 number one hit. She had come close several times before, especially with her 2014 single “Anaconda” which peaked at number two. Remarkably, “Super Freaky Girl” debuted at number one, and broke the long cycle of her deserved claim of the top spot. Minaj followed “Super Freaky Girl” with the promotional single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which she released in March 2023. The song achieved significant chart success, peaking at number 13 on the Hot 100 chart.

A few months later, on September 1st, 2023, Minaj released another new single from the album, titled, “Last Time I Saw You,” which finds her learning into a pop-rap hybrid with relatable lyrics. Although the song did not perform as impressively as its predecessors, it succeeded in raising the hype around Pink Friday 2. Moreover, at the recently held MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, Minaj gave a stellar performance of her new single before debuting a new track from the upcoming album. The new track has since been revealed to be titled “Big Difference.” With the release of Pink Friday 2 about two months away, fans speculate that “Big Difference” could be the third single released.

It is unconfirmed at the moment whether or not there will be featured artists on the project, or if it will be a full-blown solo studio album. However, fans are particularly interested in seeing rising rapper Ice Spice on the album. The two have already collaborated on two songs this year, and the Barbz want more.

So far, an official tracklist has not yet been released for the album. This is also why the featured artists, if any, are unconfirmed. Fortunately, fans will not have to wait too long. Pink Friday 2 will be released on November 17, 2023. In the near future, we expect Minaj will reveal the tracklist, and potentially drop one more single.

Angus Cloud Partied With Friends In Last Pictures Taken Before His Death

Angus Cloud celebrated the release of MacArthur Maze’s Blvck Saturday album on Friday night, just days prior to his tragic death. In photos from the release party, the Euphoria star wore a black hoodie with a baseball hat and appeared to be in good spirits. According to the US Sun, he stayed “for a few hours and did not show any sign of a personal struggle.”

MacArthur Maze’s photographer, Josh Kennedy, told the outlet that Cloud seemed “very, very happy to be home.” Cloud apparently discussed plans to “direct a music video” for the rap group in the future.

Cloud’s family announced his passing in a statement on Monday. They wrote: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

The family added that they “hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

An HBO spokesperson added in a statement to CNN: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.” Check out pictures from Cloud’s night at MacArthur Maze’s release party here.
