Kanye West Blasts Adidas On “Vultures 2”

Today, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign surprised fans by dropping their new album, Vultures 2. Supporters had been waiting on the project for months and were less hopeful than ever after the August 2 release date came and went. Luckily, they didn’t have to wait too much longer, and can now enjoy the project in full.

So far, the second installment of Vultures has received mixed reactions. While many are impressed, others are urging Ye to hurry up on his previously announced retirement. With that being said, listeners are still hard at work dissecting each and every track, including “My Soul.”

Kanye West Says “F*ck Adidas” On New Track “My Soul”

The song is the last on the album and features a jab at Adidas, which cut ties with Ye back in 2022 amid his infamous antisemitism scandal. “We mass targeted, mass marketed, mass incarceration
Mass in police stations, mass incorporated, f*ck Adidas,” he spits. While the remark certainly hit hard, listeners aren’t necessarily shocked, as this is far from the first time he put the company on blast.

Earlier this year, for example, he went after Adidas, Drake, and more in a fiery Instagram rant. “F*ck Adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at Adidas. Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world,” he said at the time. Obviously, there’s still some bad blood there, and it doesn’t look like Ye will be forgetting about it anytime soon. What do you think of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s new album Vultures 2? What about Ye slamming Adidas on his track “My Soul”? What’s your favorite song on the project so far? Adidas Apologizes For Bella Hadid Munich Olympics Sneaker Ad

Screenshot 2024 07 18 at 10.33.19 PM

Sneaker giant Adidas is in the Jewish hot seat after an advertising campaign featuring Palestinian model Bella Hadid for which the company apologized for what has been seen as anti-Semitic.

The problem with the ad is that the campaign is for a retro 1972 Munich Olympics sneaker, the same Olympics where 12 Israeli athletes were taken hostage and later murdered by their captors. Hadid has been an outspoken critic of the State of Israel and the war in Gaza, so her appearance in the ad commemorating the Munich Olympics caused an uproar at the American Jewish Committee.

The AJC slammed Adidas for what its “egregious error,” saying, “For Adidas to pick a vocal anti-Israel model to recall this dark Olympics is either a massive oversight or intentionally inflammatory. Neither is acceptable.”

Adidas quickly issued an apology, saying, “We are conscious that connections have been made to tragic historical events, though these are completely unintentional and we apologize for any upset or distress caused. As a result we are revising the remainder of the campaign.”

Overtime Select, gearing up for its inaugural season starting in August, has unveiled its eight teams and their custom uniforms, created in collaboration with adidas and the young athletes themselves. The league had previously announced the team captains, who played a significant role in designing their teams’ identities and uniforms.

“This is a truly unprecedented and long-overdue moment in women’s basketball, and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with Overtime Select and its elite roster of next generation athletes as the league kicks off this summer,” said Anthony Abernathy, adidas Sr. Director Brand Communications – Originals & Basketball. “Our partnership with Overtime and our work with its leagues is a reflection of our broader commitment to engaging with and empowering athletes at the grassroots level, as we collectively push the boundaries of what’s possible in sport.”

“Being chosen to be an OT Select Captain is an amazing honor, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of this history-making moment with all my peers,” said Hailee Swain, OT Select Captain and Stanford commit. “Seeing my jersey in person that I got to help design throughout the process finally made everything seem more real – I can’t wait to start playing.”

The YGE team, captained by Jezelle “GG” Banks (Class of ’27), features a custom camo patterned uniform with light pink accents, making them both stealthy and striking. Cam’ron Trolled Anthony Edwards In A Freestyle After Being Shaded In His Adidas Commercial

Cam’ron and Mase’s It Is What It Is podcast has taken its fair share of shots at various athletes over the years, particularly NBA players like Jordan Poole and now, Anthony Edwards. Cam’ron targeted the latter with a few lines in a freestyle over the beat from Black Rob’s hit single “Whoa!” to open the latest episode.

Decked out in a Dallas Mavericks jersey (heh), Cam goes in on the 22-year-old NBA star, rapping, “Go ‘head and grandstand, no style can cramp Cam’s / P**** on a handstand, but f*ck wrong with Ant Man? / Gave him his props, homie got love from me / New commercial, y’all ain’t got love for me? / He shot a jump shot and said, ‘f*ck buddy’ / The receipt reader lookin’ like your f*ck buddy.”

So, what’s got Cam’s knickers in a twist? It seems Ant’s Adidas ad rubbed him the wrong way with its use of one of Cam’s tweets to make a point about Ant proving his haters wrong. The ad includes a printer for Edwards’ “receipts,” which spits out tweets from various celebrities questioning whether the young Minnesota Timberwolves guard is ready to be “the face of the league.”

The tweets are read to Ant by a friend as he takes practice shots, and when he hears that Cam’ron says he’s “an All-Star, but not a superstar yet,” Ant indeed gives a dismissive response and chucks another jumper. The ad’s being celebrated for its simplicity and directness, but clearly, not everybody appreciates Ant’s unfiltered demeanor.

Anyone who’s spent any time around hoopers knows that many of them — especially the best — are crazy petty and take anything less than unadulterated adulation as the saltiest criticism, so his response isn’t exactly surprising. But for the past 25 years, Cam’ron has been an equally petty performer in his own industry, so his response shouldn’t surprise anyone either.

But before anyone goes taking this super serious and demanding guns drawn at dawn, try to remember: it’s all in good fun. Talking sh*t is part of these guys’ livelihoods, so they both know there’s no ill intent. And if/when they see each other at the next All-Star Game, it’ll probably be all love.

You can watch Cam’s freestyle (and his explanation for the clap back) at the top of the episode above.

Kanye West’s Infamous “F*ck Adidas” MBDTF Vinyl Hits Auction Block And The Asking Price Is Out Of This World

Kanye West has made some iconic albums during this time as an artist. Overall, one could make the argument that he has the most classic records out of any artist in hip-hop. Moreover, if you expand outside of the genre, you will be hard-pressed to find any artist with as many classics as him. One of those classics is the 2010 masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which many believe to be his best record. Others look to his original trilogy, while some even believe that Yeezus is his best work.

If you remember, back in February, a fan had him sign a vinyl version of MBDTF. As you can see in the video clip below, he wrote “F*ck Adidas” on it. The vinyl record is now being placed on the auction block through Moments in Time. Of course, there is a bit of a catch here. According to TMZ, the vinyl will be sold for over $500K. They won’t accept any bids below that, which means anyone who wants this piece is going to have to shell out a whole lot of money.

Kanye West Signed The Vinyl Record Just A Few Months Ago

It is an ambitious asking price that could very well prove to be a bit too much. However, this is Kanye we are talking about. Ye always seems to attract some large investors, and with memorabilia prices soaring in all domains, this could prove to be a lucrative deal. It also helps that the album in question is something as legendary as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Let us know what you think of this auction, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that $500K is too much for this kind of memorabilia? If you had unlimited funds, what would you pay for something like this? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
