2K Unveils Major Upgrades for MyPLAYER Builder and MyCAREER in NBA 2K25

2K today announced exciting new updates for MyPLAYER Builder and MyCAREER in NBA 2K25, available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The enhancements include an all-new Takeover System and improved Badge progression, allowing players to customize their playstyles like never before.

“MyPLAYER is the start of every journey, and in NBA 2K25, we’ve added more ways for players to craft their legacy in a tailored and authentic way as they chase the win,” said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts. “We designed MyPLAYER Builder to cater to different playstyles and strategic preferences for players of all levels.”

The MyPLAYER Builder now offers a broader range of archetypes, providing access to detailed information about each Build, including Badges, Takeovers, and Signature Animations. Players can use the Build Tester to experiment with their new Build in various practice modes.

The new Takeover System introduces 72 Takeovers and 14 Takeover Abilities, each with five levels. As players perform well on the court, the Takeover Meter fills, enhancing specific attributes. Reaching Level 5 activates powerful Takeover Abilities, making players dominant for short periods.

Badges in NBA 2K25 are more impactful and diverse, with the list refined to 40. Badge progression aligns with on-court actions, and a new level called Legend surpasses Hall of Fame. Badge Elevators and Cap Breakers allow for further customization and attribute enhancement.

MyCAREER in NBA 2K25 focuses on building the next great dynasty. Players will compete against the best dynasties in NBA history, aiming for deep playoff runs and championships to climb the Dynasty Rankings. The new Heart of a Dynasty flashback story lets players relive their MyPLAYER’s journey from high school to the NBA.

2KBaby Shares New Album, “Scared 2 Love”

Louisville rapper and singer 2KBaby just released his latest project, the heart-ached but mellow Scared 2 Love. Following previous singles like “Don’t Love Me Now” featuring charlieonnafriday, this tape expands on that sentimental relationship narrative. Despite the focused theme and similar stories running through each tracks, this album boasts effective emotional and sonic variety. Moreover, the 22-year-old plays with upbeat tempos, melancholy verses, aggressive delivery, and melodic passages. Furthermore, Scared 2 Love explores love through a lot of different mindsets, and there’s something to listen to at every phase of a relationship.

Furthermore, anyone can relate to 2K’s perspectives, and he takes advantage of that with a dynamic tracklist. Moreover, its first half is peppered with piano-led trap ballads like “IDKY” and “Rain.” However, the opener “Angel” and “Mood Swings” amp the energy up with rage-inspired and drill cuts, respectively. Even if this tape is thematically focused, he still injects tracks with similar energy to his previous mixtapes. For example, the last track “Overdue” contains more energetic flows like on last year’s Sorry 4 The Hate. Still, the rapper’s eccentric personality and hardened perspectives shine bright through his vocal performances. While his lyricism may be straightforward, he relies on melodies and atmospheres over words to get his emotions across.

While this project might focus mostly on connection and 2K’s own struggles with them, it’s not all such a downer. Still, what did you think of 2KBaby’s latest offering, Scared 2 Love? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out the album’s versatile tracklist down below. Also, if you haven’t heard the project yet, you can find the tape on your preferred streaming service. Finally, as always, come back to HNHH for the best new hip-hop and other genre releases every week.

2KBaby Releases Weezy-Inspired Mixtape, “Sorry 4 The Hate”

Louisville rapper 2KBaby is back with a new mixtape, Sorry 4 The Hate. Moreover, it’s inspired by Lil Wayne’s classic mixtape Sorry 4 the Wait, on which he rapped over popular beats before Tha Carter IV. Also, it even has the same style of cover art and color pallet. Therefore, that’s exactly what the Kentucky native delivers on this mixtape. His last single “Haunt Me” with Kofi displayed his melodic sensibilities, but he’s not afraid to go hard here, too.

“I’m just tryn go down as of the GOATSs in this s**t,” 2KBaby wrote via Instagram. “[Lil Wayne] been inspiring n***as as long as I can remember & at the same time paving the way for artists to do a lot of the s**t we do today. “Sorry 4 the Wait” was the first Remixtape I got put on 2 & “Sorry 4 the Wait II” was the last. So I thought I’d try to make my own Remixtape of the hottest 2022 songs on the chart rn. Until I see it ain’t no artist in the game tht can fwm on this tip.”

Meanwhile, given his criticism of hits like “pushin p,” it’s unsurprising to see 2KBaby looking for some smoke. Still, he backs it up, with creative reinventions of everything from Metro Boomin to Taylor Swift. Moreover, his voice remains dynamic and charismatic, with passionate wails and creative inflections. Still, he spits bars over beats from Yeat, Drake & 21 Savage, and Jack Harlow.

What did you think of 2KBaby’s latest Weezy-inspired mixtape, Sorry 4 The Hate? Are you as shocked by it as you were by his crazy face tattoo? Still, let us know in the comments down below and peep the tracklist as well. You can find Sorry 4 The Hate on Soundcloud and YouTube.
