Jonathan Majors Dropped From Three Projects, Including Otis Redding Biopic

Jonathan Majors Dropped From Three Projects, Including Otis Redding Biopic

The Jonathan Majors fallout continues. Following being ousted from his management and public relation firms, and no longer attending the Met Gala with Valentino, the actor has been dropped from three new projects.

According to Deadline, studios in Hollywood are now apprehensive about working with the actor, leading to Majors’ dismissal from the film The Man in My Basement, an ad campaign for the Texas Rangers, and an unannounced Otis Redding biopic.

For The Man in My Basement, Majors was set to star and executive produce the film under his Tall Street Productions imprint. Protagonist Pictures are currently searching for Majors’ replacement. The movie tells the story of Charles Blakey, a man living in Sag Harbor who rents out the basement of his ancestral home for $50,000 to a European man for the summer, leading to a chaotic path of race, history, and the root of all evil. Majors was set to star opposite of William Dafoe.

Last week, Marvel insider Jeff Snieder revealed that Majors, who is currently planned to be a key component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could be replaced, citing Majors’ team and Marvel aligned with a plan for handling the issue.

One of the names floating as an option is Snowfall’s Damson Idris.

“Even though there hasn’t been any movement on the Jonathan Majors front, I’ve heard that’s the kind of actor, who, like, if Jonathan Majors got the boot as Kang, someone like Damson Idris is the type of the person that [Marvel] may look at to replace him if that, in fact, happens,” said Sneider.

The next edition in the MCU is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set for release on May 5, 2023.

His attorney, Priya Chaudhry, stated she is “confident that he will be fully exonerated.” Chaudhry’s husband is currently working for Majors in crisis management.

In addition to his firms, Majors will be replaced in numerous films and campaigns. It was noted Majors will step down from the Gotham Film and Media Institute and Sidney Poitier Intitiative. R. Kelly’s Legal Team Appeals NY Conviction, Looking for Reverse or New Trial

kelly

Could R. Kelly have his conviction and sentence overturned in his New York sex crimes case? That’s what his attempt is. According to TMZ, R. Kelly has filed an appeal for his NY case.

R. Kelly was found guilty on nine federal accounts, including a RICO, for sex crimes and human trafficking. In legal docs, Kelly’s legal team states the government did not meet the burden of proof, even though the jury reached a conviction. That jury is also under scrutiny by the legal team, along with the evidence presented against the singer.

The jury allegedly prejudged the singer guilty, with two having seen Surviving R. Kelly, which should not have allowed them to take part.

Additional arguments by Kelly’s team include that the alleged underage girls in the case were 18 years old during sexual relationships. For those that may not have been, Kelly’s team states the singer was misled.

The team notes additional details like sexual preferences, and more were irrelevant to the crimes while also stating witnesses were inadequate in providing information against him.

Kelly’s team is seeking a reverse of convictions or a new trial.

Don't Play With Diddy About Yung Miami: 'Not My Side Chick'

Yung Miami and Diddy are a wrap. But she is pulling the curtain back on some of their romantic situations, specifically the golden shower fiasco that took over the timeline and had Twitter users dub the Bad Boy mogul Pee Diddy.

In case you missed it, on an episode of Caresha Please with guest star Trina, Yung Miami revealed that she likes golden showers. “I don’t know, it just do something to me,” Miami said, leading many to believe that was a practice between her and Diddy.

In an interview with The Cut, Yung Miami provides a bit of clarification.

“I never said he was the one I did that with,” she said. “Sex is a part of life. I’m grown, and maybe I talk about it too much, but everybody’s got their personal experiences. Some people get sh-tted on. Some people live life on the edge, some people boring as f-ck. I watch a lot of porn, b-tches get peed on. If we grown and we in the house just chilling and want to talk about sex, what’s wrong with that?”

Mike Won’t Let The Devil Coerce Him

Killer Mike’s “Don’t Let The Devil” follows last year’s singles, “Run” and “Talk’n That Shit.” The new song features some gospel samples and a classic sounding drum loop. The samples are used to perfection as Killer Mike expertly flows over the beat. The song is definitely not a disappointment. It feels like a perfect throwback, familiar without sounding dated.

“Watch the world go to hell as I’m laughing saying, ‘it’s perfect’ / Catch me after Sunday service disturbing the church’s workers,” Mike raps on the song. For anyone that grew up in the south, the track is going to sound extremely familiar. From the gospel samples to the lyrics about not “letting the devil coerce you,” the entire song is reminiscent of what summers feel like in the south: Sunday church services, insane humidity, potlucks, and block parties. If this is the kind of material we have to look forward to on MICHAEL, it looks like we are in for an amazing album. What do you think of the new Killer Mike track? Let us know in the comments!

Quotable Lyrics:

Fly satellite height
As I’m looking at the earth’s surface
Keep your eyes on the prize
And don’t let the devil coerce you
