Happy 53rd Birthday To Wu Tang’s Method Man!

On this date in 1971, the Shaolin Island emcee who was virtually named after the term “John Blaze”, was born in Long Island, New York.

Admired for his unique voice and witty lyrics, Method Man is known for his one of a kind sound. The Long Island-born/Staten Island bred rapper raised the bar for the ideal Shaolin emcee alongside Wu brothers Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. Trailblazing the 90s, Johnny Blaze has pioneered an impressive portion of verses that are considered as one of the greatest in hip-hop history. His unpredictably bouncy flow hit wax in 1993 on Wu-Tang’s debut Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, which featured what would later become his anthem, “M.E.T.H.O.D. M.A.N.” His signature stance continued into creating essential tunes as featured in his 1994 solo debut, Tical, along with guest features on the solo debuts of fellow Wu members and the only featured emcee on Biggie’s Ready To Die LP.

The wavering style and persona of Method Man have allowed him to flourish in many different pursuits in both music and entertainment. His iconic r&b collaboration with Mary J. Blige “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” is sanctioned as a cult classic and also snagged the class-act rapper a Grammy in 1996. Dubbing another innovative vibe, his musical duality with Redman became one of the most distinct and successful in the light of hip-hop duos, which triggered Method Man’s acting career. Bound to craft commendable works, starting from his role as Father Sha in Belly (1998), to How High, and now Power II: Book Of Ghost, the man with the iron lung has maintained a stellar track record of creating classics that are timeless. His deeds as an emcee, actor, showman, and overall creative make him one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. A certified legend.

Happy Heavenly Birthday To The “Grand Incredible” DJ Scott La Rock!

On this day in 1962, Scott Monroe Sterling known widely as DJ Scott La Rock of the famous Boogie Down Productions was born in the Bronx borough of New York City. Scott La Rock was the producer for rap icon KRS-One until his untimely death on August 27th, 1987.

La Rock was born in the Bronx, New York City, New York and was raised by his mother Carolyn Morant. As a child, he moved from Queens to the Morrisania neighborhood in the South Bronx then to the Morris Heights projects. La Rock attended Our Savior Lutheran High School where he was a great student and athlete. He originally intended to attend Castleton State University to play basketball but decided to switch his focus to music upon graduation. In college, he used to DJ at a local bar called Dugan’s Bar on Friday nights. From there his musical career blossomed.

La Rock graduated college in 1984 and returned to New York City. He worked a few jobs in the city while at night spinning records at the Broadway Repertoire Theatre. Through his work as a social worker, La Rock met his future partner in crime Kris Parker aka KRS-One at the Franklin’s Men’s Shelter. The two, along with Derrick Jones or DJ D-Nice, formed Boogie Down Productions.

In 1987 the group released their first LP, Criminal Minded, which has become a classic Hip Hop album. Criminal Minded has been ranked by The Source as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums. Rolling Stone ranked it as one of the 500 greatest albums. Complex Magazine ranks the track South Bronx from the album as #9 on their list of best diss-songs of Hip Hop.

La Rock life came to a stretching halt in 1987 due to senseless street violence. In an effort to support his friend and partner DJ D-Nice, La Rock was shot in the neck and died of his wound. As the story goes, La Rock, DJ D-Nice, Scotty “Manager Moe” Morris, DJ McBooo, and BDP bodyguard Darrell rolled up to the Highbridge Homes Projects in the South Bronx. They were there to handle a problem between D-Nice and a man who’s ex-girlfriend we was acquainted with at the time. After they handled their disagreement, bullet began to fly toward the white on red Jeep CJ-7 that they were riding in. La Rock was hit and later died at Lincoln Hospital within one hour of being shot.

KRS-One’s Stop the Violence Movement was a direct result of La Rock’s murder. Despite the loss of La Rock, KRS-One kept the Boogie Down Productions name alive and continued to release music and grow to be one of the most respected voices in Hip Hop. DJ Scott La Rock’s righteous legacy lives on forever through his music and the empire that he helped shape. Take some time today to listen to his classic album and pay some respect to his greatness.

Lil Meech Addresses Pregnant Girlfriend Rumors, Summer Walker Breakup

It goes without saying that Lil Meech has had a rocky few months when it comes to relationships, but according to him, that hasn’t left him with any hard feelings towards his exes. During a recent appearance on The Morning Hustle, the BMF actor opened up about his infamous split from Summer Walker and revealed where they stand now. He claims that despite their arguably messy breakup, he still has love for her and respects the songstress as an artist.

“Me and Summer, we still have love for each other. We’re both going our separate ways,” he shared. “We don’t have no problems with each other. She’s an amazing singer and a good person.”

His relationship with Summer Walker isn’t the only thing Lil Meech addressed during the interview, however. The Detroit-born performer also touched on rumors that a lucky lady in his life is expecting, which he sparked himself late last year. In December, a clip of Meech chatting with friends in the studio started making its rounds online, which shows his response to the question of whether or not he has any children. “I’ve got one on the way right now,” he said. “My girl is pregnant.”

While this certainly managed to get fans talking, and even theorizing that the mother-to-be was Summer, Meech says he was simply joking. “I don’t know where they got that from,” he explained before being reminded of the clip. “Oh, I think I know what you’re talking about,” Meech continued. “Yeah, I was playing in that video. Megan Thee Stallion showed out while hosting the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo. After showing out as Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, Megan’s outfit for the show itself was inspired by Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Megan’s outfit, with a daring exposed chest cut-out, was inspired by Bruno Bucciarati from Jojo‘s fifth series, Golden Wind. Megan’s attention to detail in the outfit was unrivalled, truly showing her love of the medium. As mentioned, Megan would go on to present the awards show in this outfit.

Furthermore, Megan spilled on her love of anime. She named several characters from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure as her anime backup dancers. One person she named was the aforementioned Bucciarati, because “he’s my boy, he’s got them moves already!” Meanwhile, she named YuYu Hakusho as her “comfort anime” and one she “always falls asleep to”. However, the former Yeezy architect’s latest outing with Ye in Paris, leaving the Ritz Paris on Saturday (March 2), is a complete departure from what she’s known for with her outfits. She donned a long-sleeve purple sweater, slicked-back hair, leggings, and high heels, and many remarked on how we usually see so much of her body -– often, more than what we bargained for.

According to a TMZ report on the matter, the couple were on their way to fly out of Paris following Ye’s run of listening parties in Europe for Vultures 1, his Ty Dolla $ign collab album. As for the Chicago artist, he wore a black hoodie over his face, a black leather jacket, navy slacks, and what look like black Air Force 1s at first glance. Bianca Censori shocked Parisian onlookers all throughout their time there, so this is a big departure from what we know from her closet finds. However, we know there’s at least one person out there who, if reports are accurate, is happy with this change. A Daily Mail report suggested that Bianca Censori’s family, particularly her father Leo, wants to talk to Ye about her fashion choices and how he turned her into a “trashy commodity” away from her formerly close loved ones. “Bianca’s father Leo wants to have a proper sit down with Kanye,” an alleged source remarked. “And ask him what the hell he is thinking when he parades Bianca around like a trashy naked trophy pony.

“He wants to ask Kanye what he would do if his daughters North, or Chicago, were seen in public half-naked in outfits encouraged by their husbands,” they went on. “He knows that there is no way in hell that Kanye would allow this for his daughters so it makes no sense why he would encourage this for his own wife. No man should ever encourage the woman that he loves to walk out in public and present herself like this. That isn’t love. The project had its rollout begin in the latter half of last year with a slew of singles. “Laps” with Moonchild Sanelly kicked things off on October 20. Then, the UK rapper would go on to release four more tracks over the next five months.

The last and only track we were able to sink our teeth into was “Double Standards” with Sampha. It was a great listen and tracks like this one show the intent behind On Purpose, With Purpose. In an interview with Apple Music, Ghetts shared some of the themes that are woven into the record. “To anyone who feels like they’re being overlooked, don’t have conversations with people about ‘It should be you.’ No, it shouldn’t. Don’t download the virus.”

Wendy Williams “Stuck” In Treatment Facility After Dementia Diagnosis, Her Brother Claims

Last week, Where Is Wendy Williams? took the internet by storm, with countless social media users weighing in on the controversial Lifetime doc. Even before it was released, speculation that Williams was being exploited began, which was only compounded once it was revealed that she’d been diagnosed with dementia and aphasia. The personality has since received an outpouring of support from fans and peers and later thanked them in a statement.

While Wendy appears to be doing better since filming, her brother Tommy says that he and the rest of their family don’t approve of how her treatment has been approached. “I know that she is stuck and we are trying to unstick her. Her family is here and she doesn’t need a facility. We are here to take care of her,” he told US Weekly in an exclusive interview earlier this week. “All I want for her is freedom. We have a father who would love to see her.”

“We’re dealing with unknowns,” he continued. “We just want to be able to check in with her. I would fly up there [to New York], but where do I go? No one knows anything.” Tommy also revealed that communicating with his sister has been difficult, claiming it “seems like forever” since he’s seen her.

“It’s because of the people who she is around. You can’t leave.
