T.I. Believes Black Men In Power Are Often “Challenged” & “Ridiculed”

The allegations recently made against T.I. and his wife Tiny are serious, and the couple isn’t taking them lightly. However, they’ve remained adamant that they never were involved in forcing anyone to do anything non-consensual, and while they were ridiculed in the headlines and on social media apps, we recently reported that there aren’t any lawsuits against or investigations into the famed Hip Hop couple. Their reality series, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, has been placed on pause for the time being, and once again T.I. has come forward with a message about facts and fiction.

He recently caught up with The Shade Room for a virtual interview where he was asked how he manages his presence in the media, whether it be good or bad. “Focus on my truth and my purpose,” said T.I. “You know what I’m sayin’? Can’t nobody tell me about me. You dig what I’m sayin’? Your opinion of me will never overrule my opinion of myself. Your fantasy of me will never overrule my fact of myself. The facts that I know about me, about my life. That’s what I’m gon’—I’ll never—the tail shall never wag the dog, ya dig.”

“I think that, you know, one thing social media has shown us, and society at large, is one, that anytime a Black man is in a position of power and he uses his platform to speak on behalf of the community and to help people who need the most help…that’s gon’ be objected to, challenged, ridiculed,” T.I. continued.

“I mean, from Malcolm X to John Africa to anybody. To Fred Hampton, it’s gon’ always be challenged as long as you tryin’ to be a voice for the voiceless. You just gotta believe enough in your purpose. Stand up, and go on through it. But other people’s fantasies and fiction of me will never overrule the facts I know of myself.” Do you agree with him?

Quotable Lyrics

Please tell me you could read my mind
Before I get to textin’ you
And usually, I’m not hat type
But I really wanna come through
Girl, I got some things in mind
That I wanna do
And I can’t even relax
Until You hit me back, babe, yeah

Cardi B Thinks There Are “Crazy Expectations” For “Female Rap” Because Of “Comparing”

Although she’s been actively working on her music for some time, it seems that Cardi B has only been receiving her shine for the last few years. Cardi went from stripping to being a social media star, then she moved on to reality television on Love & Hip Hop New York where viewers witnessed her rap dreams get dodged by her co-stars. Now she’s a Grammy-winning artist whose tracks reach the No. 1 spot effortlessly, but Cardi recently sat down with Mariah Carey for Interview magazine where she spoke about her fears in releasing her second album.

In the industry, the sophomore slump is a real thing as many artists believe their second album can ride the successful wave of the first. However, those with hit debut records often find themselves wondering why their sophomore efforts tank. Carey wanted to know if Cardi was concerned about the unofficial curse.

“People always have crazy expectations, especially when it comes to female rap,” said the Bronx artist. “It’s not like it’s a competition, but people are always comparing and comparing and comparing. It’s almost like they want to see you fail.” We often see this when fans of artists pit women in Rap against each other when they aren’t even at odds.

“I hate the feeling when I don’t do something really good,” Cardi continued. “So I want my sh*t to be good because my last album did so well, and if this one doesn’t do well, I’m going to feel really sad.” Her Bardi Gang is awaiting news of Cardi’s next project. “Up” is the first offering from the record, leaving many to believe that the album will arrive sooner than later.

6ix9ine Lashes Out At BRS Kash Over “King Of New York” Question

These days, it seems as if everyone is trading words with Tekashi 6ix9ine. After months of silence, the controversial rapper returned to social media, once again attacking any foe who is brazen enough to engage in his often vicious trolling. We’ve witnessed Meek Mill, Lil Reese, and 600 Breezy go back and forth with the New York rapper, and while 6ix9ine took aim at Lil Durk, the Chicago artist refused to engage. After 6ix9ine shared the story of his weight loss journey, BRS Kash had a question for him that wasn’t received well and now, there’s another rapper’s name on the growing list of 6ix9ine detractors.

“The King Of New York Tho?” the “Throat Baby” rapper asked. 6ix9ine replied, “@brskash You are a one hit wonder, please take a seat.” Kash wasn’t fazed and continued, “So U Tellin Me You Over Biggie An Jay Z Is My Question?” The conversation was shared by The Shade Room, and both men weren’t finished with the exchange.

“Everybody tough on the internet … ya make an excuse for every rapper .. I been talking crazy to everybody since 2018 still untouched,” 6ix9ine commented. “Ya gon say ‘ you hide behind security ‘ but if something happens to me YALL gon say ‘ AS THEY SHOULD!’ Lol make up ya mind miserable people.”

BRS Kash clarified that he didn’t set out to beef with anyone, he truly wanted to know if 6ix9ine believes he’s bigger and better than Hip Hop and Rap legends. “A Question Is A Question It’s None To Be Mad Or Beef Over If It Offended You [shrug emoji,” wrote Kash. “Askin A Question Not Being Tough.” Did 6ix9ine overreact? Check out the exchange below.

50 Cent Welcomes Bobby Shmurda Home

Bobby Shmurda is back home and though it’s been six years since we’ve seen or really heard from him, he seems to be in good spirits, reciprocating the same type of excitement his fans have for his release. Everyone’s been excited about his release. Even Norm Kelly, the Toronto City Councillor who went viral over his tweets, returned to the social media platform for the first time since 2019 to welcome Bobby backEveryone is excited

If a 79-year-old politician from Toronto is ecstatic over Bobby’s release, you can only imagine how New York City’s feeling right now. Over the past few years, the debate of the King Of New York has been quite prominent in East Coast hip-hop circles. Most would claim it to be Jay-Z or Biggie Smalls but in a modern era, Bobby’s probably the only one fit for the throne.

50 Cent took to Instagram earlier today where he made sure to celebrate Bobby’s return with some shameless promotion of his own Branson Cognac which was apparently being served at Bobby’s welcome home bash. “IT’s SHMURDA TIME BOBBY’s HOME, YOU KNOW THE WHOLE CITY READY TO TURN UP,” 50 Cent wrote.

Perhaps, we’ll end up seeing Bobby and Rowdy make cameos in one of the many Power spin-offs that 50 Cent has lined up for the future. Check his post out below.

Icewear Vezzo & Babyface Ray Team Up On “Holiday”

Detroit’s Icewear Vezzo has teamed up with the buzzing voice of the city Babyface Ray for a blistering new banger titled, “Holiday.” The new record is a menacing and exhilarating track that Ray describes as “money counter music.” The two rappers talk their sh*t as they detail their expensive drug habits and the money they’ve acquired in their time in the rap game. Ray kicks things off before sliding it over to Vezzo who delivers a menacing verse.

Icewear Vezzo hasn’t wasted any time releasing new music since the year hit. The rapper kicked things off with the release of “Cheat Code” before following it up with “6Print.”

Bobby Shmurda Praises Quavo For Being A Solid Friend During His Incarceration

Yesterday was a huge day in the world of music. Bobby Shmurda finally came home. For six whole years, the rapper’s been locked up as the fans and the streets kept his name alive. He was welcomed back home to a shower of praise on the Internet, specifically from his comrades in the music industry. It was Quavo who kept his word and personally picked up Shmurda on a private jet. As the two linked up and counted cash for the camera, Bobby made sure to give Quavo his flowers for his loyalty.

“Come here, come here,” said Bobby as he waved down Quavo. “Do your thing, it’s your time,” Quavo responds but Bobby is persistent. “Come here. My brother right here. Man, he ain’t never switch up, the whole 6 years,” continued Bobby.

It’s unclear whether Bobby has been back in the studio since he was released from prison but it seems like the ShMigo project could be on its way soon. Towards the tail end of 2019, Quavo tweeted that he spoke to Shmurda and hinted towards a release in 2020. Evidently, that didn’t happen but he did add “SHMIGO ALERT” in the tweet so it seems like there are still discussions about the project.

We’re excited to see what Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel get up to now that they’re both out.

French Montana Announces CJ’s “Whoopty” Remix With Rowdy Rebel

CJ is fresh off of the release of his latest project, Loyalty Over Royalty which includes his breakout hit, “Whoopty.” The song’s generated a lot of buzz and certainly, just as much controversy as he faces criticism over his credibility. However, he’s continued to keep his head down and grind it out, especially with French Montana backing him.

The Coke Boys CEO took to Instagram earlier today where he gave Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel a welcome home shout-out with the announcement of the “Whoopty” remix. French is featured on the record but so is Rowdy Rebel, putting his stamp of approval on one of the most commercially successful drill songs in recent times.

“YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS WHEN YOU HEAR THAT haannnnn WELCOME HOME @realbobbyshmurdags9 @rowdyrebel. my guys,” French shared to his IG page along with some BTS footage of Rowdy Rebel, CJ, and French Montana in the studio cooking up. It’s unclear whether they’re hitting that Bobby Shmurda is also on the remix. “I want everybody to go tell @funkmasterflex to drop this FOR THE CITY,” French added.

During a recent interview with HNHH, CJ explained that French Montana has provided him tons of guidance since entering the rap game, teasing a few collaborations in the cut.

“I’m seven months in the game. He’s been in the game for a little while. He knows the ins-and-outs of this industry. He just wanted to guide me in the right direction and help me with this project,” he said.
