Polo G Takes Shots At Adin Ross In Fiery New Snippet

Polo G ascension to the top of the rap game has been quick and well-earned. He first rose to prominence back in 2018 with the singles “Finer Things” and the Lil Tjay-assisted “Pop Out.” He followed with his debut studio album in 2019 Die a Legend and then 2020’s The Goat, which both debuted within the top ten region of the Billboard 200 chart.

His Spring single “Rapstar” debuted at the summit of the Hot 100, a true testament to his increasing star power. It seems like not everyone is a fan of the Chicago native, namely Twitch streamer Adin Ross, who suggested that the rapper wasn’t coming hard enough. In response, Polo G aired out the “lil white boy from the burbs” on social media, taking more shots at Ross in a blazing new snippet.

Using some lines from the original drag, the rapper shared a trailer for his new album arriving on June 11th with a snippet of new heat. Lounging in a Rolls Royce, he spits “A lil white boy from Burbs got the nerve to tell me I ain’t going hard enough/Like he ever really had it hard enough/Like, b*tch don’t get me started up/I’m still gon’ be right here if the rap game finna garbage up/Can’t ride for nothin’/I’m with some renegades, Draco beatin’ filler bangs.”

He continues, “.223s hit his face/Tactical won’t leave a trace/I was thuggin’ grandma hopin’ that this sh*t a phase/Twenty chains, six figures, just to hit the stage.” The preview of the hard-hitting track earned the emcee a wave of support from some of his peers in the rap game. G Herbo left an encouraging emoji under the post, while Doe Boy commented numerous flame emojis. Trippie Redd also have his stamp of approval.

Tentatively titled “Toxic,” Polo G effortlessly addressed his critics and asserted his longevity in the game. It’s expected to appear on his upcoming third studio album Hall of Fame.

Netflix’s Animated And Obamas-Produced ‘We The People’ Shows Off A Technicolor Trailer Full Of Musical A-Listers

Netflix just dropped the first official trailer for We the People, an animated music video series created by Chris Nee and produced through a joint collaboration between Kenya Barris and Barack and Michelle Obama. Featuring a powerhouse set list of musical stars like H.E.R. and Janelle Monáe, the 10 episodes series will feature a collection of music videos that will hopefully inspire viewers to rethink their civic engagement. A “Civics Remix,” as the trailer calls it.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Combining music and animation to educate a new generation of young Americans about the power of the people, We the People is a series of 10 animated music videos that covers a range of basic U.S. civics lessons in not-so-basic ways. Set to original songs performed by artists such as H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, Brandi Carlile, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Cordae, Bebe Rexha, KYLE, Andra Day, and poet Amanda Gorman, with a groundbreaking mix of animated styles — each episode of We the People is an exuberant call to action for everyone to rethink civics as a living, breathing thing and to reframe their understanding of what government and citizenship mean in a modern world.

We the People starts streaming July 4 on Netflix

Yung Baby Tate Plays ‘Whack-A-Hoe’ In Her Cheeky ‘Eenie Meenie’ Video

In the colorful video for Yung Baby Tate‘s new single “Eenie Meenie,” the burgeoning Atlanta star makes her lyrics literal with a campy take on a classic carnival game. Instead of whacking moles, she’s whacking hoes — or in this case, f*ckboys — with a giant inflatable hammer, making them adjust to her ways rather than the other way around. There’s also a “blink and you’ve missed it” cameo from fellow rapper Westside Boogie, who’s often addressed similar sentiments in his own music.

Tate’s new single comes from the recently released deluxe version of her first major-label EP (and sixth overall) After The Rain, which arrived May 21 after months of teasing from Tate and finagling from fans. In addition to the original seven songs, the deluxe features six new tracks, including “Eeenie Meenie” and the TikTok-favorite “Focused,” as well as more R&B-focused tracks that show off her singing and songwriting. The “Eenie Meenie” video is her second video from the EP after the Flo Milli-featuring, affirmational “I Am.” Tate detailed the making of that clip for Uproxx’s Behind The Video.

Yung Baby Tate is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Bill Cosby Fires Back At OJ Simpson’s Comments

Bill Cosby certainly hasn’t seen the outside of prison in a long time but the embattled comedian and his team have high hopes that his conviction will be successfully appealed. Cosby had the opportunity to be eligible for parole if he had entered a therapy program for sexually violent predators. Cosby ultimately declined that chance because it would’ve been an admission of guilt.

Then came OJ Simpson chiming in on the scenario. As a former inmate, he said that he identified with Cosby’s situation but suggested that the embattled comedian should’ve taken the courses to be released earlier. Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt issued a statement via TheShadeRoom on his client’s behalf, saying that if Cosby had taken the opportunity for parole, he would’ve been “admitting that he’s guilty of a crime, without the sheer evidence of ANY proof, just she said it happened.” Then, came the shade.

“Mr. Simpson was caught trying to retrieve his stolen items, unlawfully, which is the difference,” Wyatt said in a statement. “Mr. Cosby has never admitted nor has ANY evidence been presented to prove that Mr. Cosby drugged and/or raped women.”

He continued, “Why would Mr. Cosby accept parole, when we are waiting for the PA State Supreme Court to issue a ruling any day now on Mr. Cosby’s appeal, we are hoping they would vacate his conviction or warrant him a new trial. Mr. Simpson, being paroled is like being on a slave plantation, you are never free and you will always be the property of your oppressor. Enjoy your golf game.”

Playboi Carti Trends On TikTok With “Whole Lotta Red” Standout Track

Lloyd Banks once famously told 50 Cent, and inadvertently Kanye West, “Go ‘head, switch the style up. If n*ggas hate, then let them hate, and watch the money pile up.” Nearly two full decades later, Playboi Carti appears to have followed that as well, because last December’s Whole Lotta Red was stylistically different than anything that the Atlanta artist had done before.

While the album was heavily scrutinized upon its release, it appears that Carti’s punk rock/rap project is finally getting the love that many Hip-Hop fans feel it deserves, and one of the album’s standout cuts, in particular, has recently been trending on TikTok.

One of the fan-favorite cuts from Whole Lotta Red is “Punk Monk,” and throughout the four-minute track, Carti spills a bunch of tea and exposes secrets about Trippie Redd, Offset, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Keed, and Pi’erre Bourne, among others. However, it appears that Playboi Carti’s fans also just think that “Punk Monk” is a vibe.

The song has become part of a viral trend on TikTok in which users create videos using a snippet from “Punk Monk” when Carti wails, “Don’t talk to me!” TikTok users have gotten extremely creative and used the song to showcase their thoughts on people pronouncing caramel strangely, their disdain for people who don’t like sushi, and everything in between.

Carti’s emotional lyrics on “Punk Monk” have so far inspired over 402k TikTok video creations, so clearly the King Vamp is doing something right. Check out some of the best TikToks featuring Playboi Carti’s “Punk Monk” below.

ENNY Gets Summer Ready On “I Want”

From the UK and beyond, Enny has been a shining light of talent. The artist lit up summer 2020 with the release of “Peng Black Girls” which later received a remix with Jorja Smith. Each single continues to showcase her unmatched talents including her latest offering, “I Want.” The breezy electronic influence seeps into the percussion for a potential summer 2021 anthem.

“This tune is deffo a significant song in my musical journey as it was the first song that Paya and I made together,” Enny said in a statement. “We had no expectation, just vibes, London and some wavy weather. I hope this tune paints more of a picture into the world I’m coming from and the story of the EP. This is one to bubble to and motivate you to get up and get what you want!!”

SZA Admits She “Burst Into Tears” While Rehearsing “20 Something” Once

As the kids say these days, something shifted when SZA unleashed CTRL back in 2017. The adored album was originally scheduled to be released in late 15, but the songstress’ perfectionism kept her working on it until the very last minute–her label TDE eventually took away her hard drive in Spring of 2017 to get the ball rolling on the rollout.

As history tells it, the album turned into an instant classic. Widely recognized by critics and audiences as a powerful body of work from the Jersey native, it earned a spot on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Lyrically, the album explores SZA’s personal experience with themes like desire, competition, jealousy, low self-esteem, and more. Adored by fans for its vulnerability, SZA recently took to Twitter to admit even she has shed a few tears to her own music.

The songstress took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal she got a little emotional while rehearsing the fan-favorite CTRL cut “20 Something.” “Jus tried to get through 20 something at rehearsal n burst into tears LMAOOO what ? Is wrong w me ?” tweeted the “Good Days” singer

She went on to further explain the song reminds her of her grandmother–who made several appearances scattered throughout CTRL before passing away in 2019, and other people she’s lost along the way. “20 something makes me think of my granny . N everyone else I’ve lost . What a ride.”

SZA has previously been vocal about how deeply her grandmother’s passing wounded her. She’s currently readying the release of CTRL‘s follow-up due sometime this year.

Wiz Khalifa must be shooting a music video or filming some special content. The Pittsburgh native recently posted up on Instagram looking much different than usual, getting a lace-front beard fitted to his face and showing off an afro in a series of new pictures and videos on his story.

The stoner rapper has been around for over a decade. We all know and love the iconic superstar, who recently completed an appearance on The Masked Singer. One of the most recognizable celebrities, Wiz has kept mostly the same look throughout his late twenties and early thirties. On Wednesday, he decided to switch things up though, debuting a new look with the help of his glam squad.

Showing off his lace-front full beard, which makes him look a little like his close collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa completed his look with an afro wig, a wide-brimmed hat, some aviator shades, and what appears to be a red leather top. What do you think he’s working on?

It’s been an eventful few months for Wiz, who has been running some business plays on the low. Back in April, he extended his deal for Khalifa Kush before officially announcing that he was getting involved in the world of MMA
