On this date in 2000, M.O.P.’s Billy Danze and Fame joined forces with Terror Squad’s First Lady Remy Ma, The Conglomerate general Busta Rhymes nad crew member to polish off the remix of their classic stick-em-up hit “Ante Up” on the Loud/Relativity imprint.

Pulled from their fourth full length studio album entitled Warriorz, Billy and Fame recruited producer DR Period for the production as well as famed NYC DJ Funk Flex to give an energetic intro to the song. The infectious horns incite the track’s hype level, making it a club banger as well as a pep song for any situation where that “brooklyn” energy is demanded.

The video was shot by director extraordinaire Little X in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn and features several artists and Hip Hop personalities including  Gang Starr, Lord Have Mercy, Easy Mo Bee, Ralph McDaniels, DJ Green Lantern, Buckshot of Black Moon, Steele of Smif-N-Wessun, Method Man, Afu-Ra, and Tony Touch.

Ante Up was also featured in several silver screen classics such as Brown Sugar, You Got Served and even made it on an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Salute to Billy, Fame, Teflon, DR, Buss-A-Bus, Remy and everyone else who was a part of making this a piece of Hip Hop history!

Rich Homie Quan Starts Independent Venture with Troy Carter’s Venice Music

Rich Homie Quan’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, is addressing the loss of her love.

“The pain is unbearable,” wrote Williams. “The love you all have shown is an overflow. I truly appreciate everyone who’s reached out. I’m traumatized from a moment that’ll forever be in my head.”

Hip-hop continues to reel from Rich Homie Quan’s sudden death. While attending the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players celebration, Offset delivered a message to RHQ’s family: “I wish you guys some type of prosperity, some type of overcoming of it.”

He added, “Shoutout to Rich Homie Quan, that’s a Day 1 artist that we all came up in the same lab, same kitchen, trying to make it happen. That’s a tragic thing in hip-hop. RIP to you and bless your family.”

In a statement to TMZ, Rich Homie Quan’s family and representatives for the Fulton County morgue confirmed his death. In a statement, the family said they are “shattered and heartbroken by his sudden death.” A cause of deathw as not provided.

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, is well-known among fans for his melodic trap flow and rose to fame for his catchy songs, including the number-one hits “Type of Way” and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).” Rich Homie Quan was also a member of Rich Gang alongside Young Thug and Birdman, spawning the Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1.

In 2022, Rich Homie Quan announced a partnership with Venice Music, a cutting-edge music and technology firm created by Troy Carter and Suzy Ryoo. Under his new label Rich Homie Entertainment, which will be serviced by Venice Music, Rich Homie Quan was set to independently release music.

Nick Cannon’s Reality on Love with Mariah Carey: ‘She Don’t Want Me’

Nick Cannon says Mariah Carey is over his relationship. Speaking with People, he stated, “Yeah, she don’t want me.”

He added, “She’s moved on from my crazy antics.”

In August, Cannon said that he may have a wish to get back with his pop diva ex-wife, Mariah Carey, revealing he has a “Vision of Love” for her.

Cannon, 43, who is a father of 12, shared that he is hopeful he can rekindle his relationship with Carey, with whom he shares his first children, 13-year-old twins Moroccan “Roc” Cannon and Monroe “Roe” Cannon.

Taking ya’ll back to memory lane, the couple finalized their divorce eight years ago after six years of marriage. 

Get this: in an interview with E! News on Tuesday, August 6, Cannon said, “We belong together.” He added that he would “absolutely” consider getting back together with the singer, 55, saying it would “be stupid if [he] didn’t.” However, Cannon admitted, “She don’t want me,” and jokingly told E! cohost Courtney Bee that given the number of children he has had since their separation, Carey would probably say, “No, you can’t come back home.”

In addition to his twins with Carey, the multi-hyphenate entrepreneur shares sons Golden Sagon, 7, and Rise Messiah Cannon, 1, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with Brittany Bell. He has another set of twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, with Abby De La Rosa and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 1. He shares his son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi and his daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. With Alyssa Scott, he has two children: son Zen, who passed away at 5 months old in December 2021 due to brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, born on December 14, 2022.

Cannon mentioned to E! that all of the children’s mothers get along, even though he doesn’t “expect them to.” He explained, “I think that’s the thing that people might always think that it would be that. But it’s like everybody lives their own life, before me and after me. So I think that’s how you keep the peace and everybody moving, like everybody worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is.”

The avid father emphasized that the key to maintaining harmony is focusing on the children’s happiness, saying, “As long as the kids are happy and they have the strongest understanding, I think that’s what makes sense. You gotta operate out of that.”

The Chicago Sky’s season is taking a dramatic turn with the injury of superstar forward Angel Reese. On Friday, Reese suffered a wrist injury in a matchup with the Los Angeles Sparks, which now has ended her season.

I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol🥲Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so. I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.”

Peacock Celebrates Star-Studded Premiere Of ‘Fight Night’ In New York

Last week, September 4, Peacock celebrated the premiere of limited series FIGHT NIGHT: THE MILLION DOLLAR HEIST at Jazz at Lincoln Center, followed by an exclusive after party in The Appel Room overlooking Columbus Circle and Central Park.

Coinciding with the eve of NY Fashion Week, the red carpet kicked off with a surprise fashion show in partnership with GQ. Drawing inspiration from the series, models showcased high-fashion 70s-inspired looks, blending retro styles with modern sophistication. Adding to the 70s flair, the red carpet featured a replica of Chicken Man’s (played by Kevin Hart) 1966 Cadillac Calais, custom-built by the renowned West Coast Customs.

Over 800 guests were ushered into the Rose Theater for a packed screening of the first two episodes, “Round One: The Ballad of Chicken Man” and “Round Two: Fight Night”. Following the screening, attendees enjoyed an exclusive after-party, emanating 70’s nightclub, complete beats from DJ Trauma, and a photo op with Roc Nation’s Lenny Santiago’s iconic gold couch. 

Attendees included Executive Producer Will Packer; Executive Producer, Writer, Creator, and Showrunner Shaye Ogbonna; Executive Producer and Star Kevin Hart; and cast including Samuel L. Tyreek Hill Says He Will 'Call It Quits' After Dolphins Contract Expires

Several Miami Dolphins players, including All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill, were detained by Miami-Dade Police Department officers before Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hill was pulled over for allegedly speeding on his way to Hard Rock Stadium three hours before kickoff. According to ESPN‘s Jeff Darlington, a “verbal altercation” led to Hill being placed in handcuffs and cited for reckless driving. The incident, captured by fans, quickly went viral on social media. Hill expressed confusion over the escalation, stating he had “no idea” why he was handcuffed and insisted he was not disrespectful or profane. Videos show Hill lying on the ground, handcuffed, surrounded by four officers.

“Right now, I’m still trying to put it all together … I still don’t know what happened,” Hill said. “But I do want to use this platform to say, ‘What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?’ Worst-case scenario, you know? … Everybody has bad apples in every situation, but I want to be able to use this platform to figure out a way to flip this and make it a positive on my end and Miami-Dade and do something positive for the community.

“It’s hard. I don’t want to bring race into it, but sometimes it gets kind of iffy when you do. What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill? Lord knows what those guys would have done. I just wanted to make sure I was doing what my uncle always told me to do whenever you’re in a situation like that — put your hands on the steering wheel and just listen.”

Teammates Calais Campbell and Jonnu Smith stopped to support Hill and help de-escalate the situation, resulting in Campbell’s detainment. Miami-Dade PD Director Stephanie V. Daniels initiated an “immediate review” and later announced that an officer was placed on administrative duties pending the investigation.

Despite the pre-game chaos, the Dolphins rallied to defeat the Jaguars 20-17, scoring 13 unanswered points in the second half.

Kirk Cousins’ debut with the Atlanta Falcons fell flat in an 18-10 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Trailing 15-10 with just over three minutes left, Cousins had a chance to engineer a game-winning drive but threw a costly interception while targeting Ray-Ray McCloud in double coverage, deflating the Mercedes-Benz Stadium crowd.

Atlanta regained possession with 28 seconds remaining, but Cousins was sacked on the final play, sealing the defeat.”Needed to play better,” Cousins said. “That’s the bottom line. I thought our defense played very well; I thought our special teams played very well. We didn’t complement that enough on offense.”

Shannon Sharpe Addresses His Recent Viral Outburst And Heated Exchange With Ochocinco

Shannon Sharpe was hosting his popular show “Nightcap” the other night when he was experiencing some audio issues. This subsequently led to an outburst that made it seem like he was mad at his production crew. Moreover, he reamed out Chad Ochocinco who showed up late to the broadcast. This led to quite a bit of discourse on social media. However, Sharpe decided to not give in to any of it. On Sunday night, Sharpe explained what happened and noted that it had nothing to do with his team.

“So that’s what I was hearing playing back in my ear. So it wasn’t anything, it wasn’t like a malfunction, somehow the audio had clicked on on the video that was playing.” Sharpe explained “So I could hear that back in my ear. So that was nothing that people back in the studio was doing.” he continued. “That was no fault of their own, that was just something that had just all of a sudden happened and it just took us a minute to figure out.”

As for the rift with Ocho, some felt as though Sharpe playing him like Skip Bayless. Sharpe went on to say that he and Ocho have a great deal of respect for one another. At the end of the day, Sharpe just wants to push Ocho to be the best version of himself so that the show can be the best possible product. “And then guys, look, there’s been a lot said, well, you trying to do the Ocho, what Skip did to you, blah, blah, blah.” Shannon said. “No, what I am gonna do is that l’m gonna push, l’m gonna pull, l’m gonna drag Ocho to a level that he didn’t think he could get to.”

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray is the latest NBA superstar to collect a major bag. On Sunday, Murray inked a four-year, $208 million max extension.

According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, Murray is tied tot he Nuggets for the next five seasons, removing him from next summer’s free agency.

Murray is set to earn $36 million this season, with his salary rising to $46.4 million in 2025-26. He will then make $50.1 million in 2026-27, $53.8 million in 2027-28, and $57.5 million in the final year of his contract, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
