Mustard Goes At It With Fans Over “Faith Of A Mustard Seed” Album Sales

Mustard has been going at it with fans on social media in the wake of the news that his latest album, Faith of a Mustard Seed only moved 18,000 copies in its first week of availability. Initially, he remarked that album sales “are a form of white supremacy,” which prompted the trolling from fans on X (formerly Twitter). From there, he went on to label Drake the “Malcolm X of white people.” He famously produced Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track, “Not Like Us.”

“Album sales are a form of white supremacy you n****s racist,” Mustard wrote in one post. He followed up by responding to the Drake fans trolling him for the lack of sales. “Drake is the Malcolm X of white people [laughing emoji] and Akademiks make sure you post Gordo’s first week since Drake thought he did a thing with making him drop on the same day as me,” he wrote.

One user shared a post from Mustard dating back to 2019 in which he celebrated how many albums he sold with one of his releases. “Now it’s racism, should’ve got carti up there again maybe you would’ve moved some units,” they wrote. Another similarly remarked: “It’s only racist when your album flops. If your album sold well, you’d be flexing your sales.”

Mustard Goes Back & Forth With Fans

Some users did come to Mustard’s defense. One fan replied: “I hate how people use album sales as a metric to grade how good and powerful the music is. If you changed one persons life while they listened to any of the tracks you already won man!” Check out more posts on X below. Be on the lookout for further updates on Mustard on HotNewHipHop.

The announcement comes from a statement on the Yeezy website that fans on social media began noticing on Saturday night. “VULTURES 2 AVAILABLE ON ALL DSPS,” the statement reads. “UPDATED SONGS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN REAL TIME.”

The news comes as fans have been complaining about the mixing on Vultures 2 since its release earlier in the day. “So we need to keep listening to know if they are fixed?” one user on X (formerly Twitter) joked. Another remarked: “The only thing I’d like to see is that the vocals to be lifted across most of the tracks. The production sounds muddy.” One more wrote: “They said this for vultures 1 and I didn’t notice any big changes – vultures 2 quite literally has to have entire songs reproduced and remixed there’s no saving that album.”

The world doesn’t seem to agree on Snoop Dogg being the greatest rapper of all time. But, there is another title he can snatch without debate—the most globally popular.

Today (August 3), the “Gin And Juice” rapper boasted his beloved status by appearing in a video with Cookie Monster. Elmo brought his beef with Rocko to the 2024 Paris Olympics game. While Cookie Monster, on the other hand, opted for a sweet treat with Snoop Dogg.

In an adorable clip, Snoop Dogg and Cookie Monster enjoyed cookies as they stepped away from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

“Hi @SnoopDogg, me C. double O K.I.E,” read the post’s caption.

Users online ate the joint video up and didn’t hold back in their responses.

“The collaboration I never knew I needed,” wrote one user.

“Snoop really is the side quest captain 😂,” penned another.

“Did not have Snoop and the Cookie Monster on my Bingo card, but here for it,” joked another.

“What a collab. We need Cookie in Snoop’s next video 😂,” chimed another.

Prior to the Olympics, Snoop Dogg jokingly vowed to give up his favorite green plant if given the chance to cover the competition. However, he didn’t say anything about abandoning his munchies once they crept up.

50 Cent Wins $1 Billion “Power” Lawsuit From Former Drug Kingpin

50 Cent has won the $1 billion lawsuit brought by a former drug kingpin over his hit series, Power, according to AllHipHop. Cory “Ghost” Holland alleged that 50 stole his life story for the plot of the STARZ show. He first filed the billion-dollar lawsuit back in 2021, naming co-creator Courtney Kemp, STARZ, and Lionsgate, in addition to 50 Cent. Holland argued that he detailed his life story in a 2007 CD titled Blasphemy, which he sent to Kemp’s father. He had hoped it would help him find a way to legitimately earn a living and get out of the drug trade.

Judge Analisa Torres ended up siding with 50 and ruled that the show never directly refers to Holland, as required for a defamation claim. She also said other similarities boil down to mere coincidences. In another lawsuit, Holland further accused 50 Cent and his associates of harassing and threatening him by showing up and playing a song near his home.

50 Cent Speaks During “Power Book II: Ghost” Season 4 Premiere

After the alleged incident, AllHipHop obtained a letter from Holland warning 50 not to threaten him again. It reads: “If a motherf**ker gets killed because your motherf**king client threaten me and my family, file a motherf**king motion for that. I ain’t playing with your motherf**king client no more, next time he or anyone he sends pull up, f**k the litigation.”

Holland ended up losing that case as well with Torres ruling: “There is no indication that this conduct constituted a threat, much less an ‘imminent threat of harmful contact’ as required for an assault claim.” Be on the lookout for further updates on 50 Cent and his other legal trouble on HotNewHipHop.

Sha’Carri Richardson Takes Silver Medal After Upset by Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred in Epic 100 Meter Race

90

The journey of Sha’Carri Richardson just took a turn but it’s a good one. The lightening fast sprinter took the silver medal in the 100-meter race at the Paris Olympics.

This feat comes three years after missing the Tokyo Games due to a positive marijuana test. Still wild how that happened to her.

As everyone would imagine there were high expectations for Richardson. But no gold medal in the 100 meter. Instead, Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred won the top prize with a time of 10.72 seconds.

Get this the “W” earned Alfred’s island nation their first Olympic medal.

Let that sink in. That was their FIRST Olympic medal, ever. Wow. Flowers to Julien. All the flowers.

But slow down, Richardson finished second in 10.87 seconds after a not so hot start that put her at a disadvantage early in the race. Listen, it happens.

Following the surprising race, Richardson briefly spoke to a reporter who mispronounced her name, correcting them with, “It’s Sha’Carri.” Can you blame her?

As one of the more standout athletes in the Paris Olympics, Richardson faced immense pressure. Some would say pressure rarely experienced by any athlete not named Simone Biles or LeBron James, although the later is the oldest player in the NBA but still.

When you add non stop media coverage and major endorsements from brands like Nike and Sprite, Richardson had quite literally the world on her shoulders.

Richardson’s track to the Olympics, pun intended, has been rocky. She has experienced highs and lows, from being one of the fastest women in the world to facing suspension and criticism. Super heavy for anyone to have to endure, even a major athlete such as Richardson.

But after that suspension, she returned to competition in August 2021, she finished last in a race that featured many of the women she would have faced in Tokyo. Despite all this adversity, Richardson remained defiant, stating, “Count me out if you want to. Talk all the s— you want. Because I’m here to stay. I’m not done. I’m the sixth-fastest woman in this game ever. Can’t nobody ever take that from me.”

It’s not over for Sha’Carri Richardson. But maybe the real story is it’s just beginning for Julien Alfred.

At Toronto Concert Drake and PartyNextDoor Announce Upcoming Collab Album

image

Drake hasn’t been that quiet lately. He just blessed two tracks on his friend Gordo’s dance album “Diamante,” leaked a banger that apparently couldn’t get cleared with Lil’ Yachty and even found a little time for some trolling. Yesterday (August 2) the “Chicago Freestyle” rapper and fellow OVO star PartyNextDoor announced that have something up their sleeve. On stage they made it known they will release a collaborative album later this year. Well, okay, that announcement was long overdo.

Get this, the actual announcement went down during PartyNextDoor’s concert on Friday in their hometown of Toronto. Naturally, Drake made a surprise appearance onstage and gave fans what they wanted to hear performing hits and the news of the upcoming project.

Here’s a couple quotes from the 6 God … ”On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all,” Drake told the audience. “So, you get the summer over with, do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you.” That part.

So check this out, the show was originally PartyNextDoor’s concert, but Drake being the tour de force that he is, treated the crowd to a nearly hour-long surprise set. As you can imagine most of the surprise set was a medley of Drizzy’s R&B-ish tracks from his chart topping catalog.

If you don’t know Party was the first signee to Drake’s OVO Sound label. The “Recognize” (feat. Drake) artist has collaborated a ton with Drake over the past decade on bonafide smashes like “Come and See Me” and “Loyal,” as well as on Drake’s album tracks like “Wednesday Night Interlude,” “Members Only,” and “With You.” However, this upcoming LP marks the first time the two artists have worked together on an entire album.

ICYMI, PartyNextDoor released his latest LP, “PartyNextDoor 4”, in April. Outside of his recent season of diss tracks and Camila Cabello guest spots, Drake last released “For All the Dogs” in 2023. Prior to that, Drake collaborated with 21 Savage on their album “Her Loss” in 2022.

We are waiting like the rest of ya’ll for this collab but keep that same energy when it drops in case you wasn’t rocking with Aubrey this summer. Just saying.

Idris Elba Receives Green Light To Build Film Studio In Zanzibar: “Zollywood”

Idris Elba's Netflix Series 'Turn Up Charlie' Gets Cancelled

Move over Nollywood as the Africa’s only thriving film market that because Idris Elba has been granted land in Zanzibar to establish a film studio, as reported by the BBC.

Okay Hollywood is in Nigeria and that’s the world’s third largest film market after Hollywood and Bollywood in India.

The UK actor and DJ best known for roles in The Wire and Luthor, received approval to contribute to the burgeoning film industry in the Tanzanian archipelago. Zanzibar’s investment minister, Shariff Ali Shariff, mentioned at the Zanzibar International Film Festival that the studio could rival those in “Hollywood, Nollywood, or Bollywood” and might be dubbed “Zollywood.”

Zollywood. That sounds fun but feels a long way from competing with established film hubs around the world.

Get this, Elba, who grew up in East London and has familial ties to Sierra Leone and Ghana, has previously expressed his ambition to help develop the film industry in Africa. According to a spokesperson for the president of Zanzibar, “If successful, the project will help not only Tanzania but also eastern and central Africa.”

Back in February 2023, Elba discussed his plans for a film studio in Ghana, saying: “Currently, we call it West African Studios, but that’s a working title. We’ve been working on this for three or four years to raise a plan that puts a facility at the centre of African filmmaking.”

We’re all for bringing commerce to the continent. Somebody has to plant more money trees so why not Idris.
