Kali Uchis Drops Off “ORQUIDEAS PARTE 2” That Includes Four New Demos
Alexandria, Virginia resident of Colombian descent, Kali Uchis, put out one of her most substantial releases of her career at the beginning of 2024 with ORQUIDEAS. It’s a record that hears her plunge more into her Spanish roots with just a few instances of her English coming out. Fans and critics were still digging it, including us. So much so that the album was widely acclaimed and sold 31,000 copies in its first week. Vinyl sales were the catalyst, with over 20,000 customers accounting for that number. That led Kali to achieving the largest week for a Spanish-language album on vinyl in the modern era. Because of all of that success, Kali Uchis is giving her Kuchis (her fanbase), a PARTE 2 of ORQUIDEAS.
Compared to the original version, this “deluxe” edition includes four new tracks, which according to the LA Times are a set of demos. So, that means there are now 18 songs instead of 14. They kick in after “Heladito”, the second to last track. After that, you get titles such as “Adicto”, “Young Rich & In Love – KAYTRANADA Remix”, “Simple”, “Como Debe Ser”. Fans were assuming this PARTE 2 was going to a remix LP of sorts. However, Kali shut that down. “Isee people saying Orquídeas parte 2 is a remix project its notttt… Its Orquídeas demos for my Kuchis along with the Kaytra remix”. That’s still more than enough for us to revisit this stellar project and it should be for you too.

Asake Aims To Give Listeners A Clearer Picture Of Who He Is On “Lungu Boy”
Asake, one of Lagos, Nigeria’s brightest stars, is here with probably his biggest album of his early career. This weekend, he delivered his highly anticipated third studio effort, Lungu Boy. Why we feel this is such an important release for the 29-year-old singer and songwriter is based on an interview with Apple Music. “Lungu Boy explains my early beginnings in music and how it shaped me into the person I am becoming”, he explains. “The English word is ‘ghetto’. As you can tell from the choice of collaborations, Lungu Boy is my heritage and culture to the rest of the world”. Speaking of those, Travis Scott, Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, and LUDMILLA all appear within the 15 tracks.
In terms of the soundscapes, you are getting some smoother amapiano cuts, lively bangers, and everything in between. It truly is a melting pot of tones for Asake and something he was also looking to accomplish with Lungu Boy. “It’s a new field. I refuse to limit myself and strive to share my African heritage with the world through a blend that goes beyond just a sound”. Furthermore, Asake adds, “Consistency and exposure lead to growth”. Leading up to the release, he gave us the album’s biggest collaborations to chew on. “Active” with La Flame remains to be one of the LP’s catchiest and high-energy moments and “Wave” with Cench is equally as intoxicating. Be sure to give the future superstar’s effort a try with the links down below.

Kesha Promises To Diss Diddy On Re-Recorded Version Of “TiK ToK”
Kesha has made her distaste of Diddy’s allegations and actions very clear over the past few months, especially since her biggest song shouts him out uncritically. But that was before Sean Combs’ supposed (and his confirmed) crimes fully came into light, and while celebrating the song in question’s anniversary (“TiK ToK” came out 15 years ago in 2009) on Wednesday (August 7), she revealed that she would make sure this scandal wouldn’t taint the legacy of her track any further. Moreover, the Los Angeles native had previously changed the lyrics to the record to “f**k P. Diddy” instead of “feeling like P. Diddy” alongside Reneé Rapp during their Coachella performance (as well as other events), and it’s a change that she will make official on a re-recorded “TiK ToK” version.
“TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!!” Kesha’s message about her now-Diddy-dissing cut began. “I remember making it fun and happy because that’s how I felt and wanted others to feel. What I’m so proud of is that’s how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to. 15 (!!!!!!) years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time.

Kesha Will Include Diddy Diss In Re-Recording Of “TiK ToK”
“That girl was naive and wild and playful,” Kesha continued. “This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely. The world has changed so much and so have I. I absolutely love the new lyric change. (Shout out to @reneerapp) Yes it is permanent. I will re-record it when I have legal rights to!
“Now, my first baby stands for so much,” Kesha concluded. “It stands for fiercely protecting fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others. The whole ride has been absolute insanity, but the JOY is still riding. I hope you all can find 3 1/2 minutes of play in this song and connect with your wild child-like joy [red heart emoji]. Thank you for making my life so magical animals, it’s one for the books! x.”

Chrisean Rock’s Mugshot Has Soulja Boy In Tears
Chrisean Rock’s difficult legal situation these days is causing a whole lot of social media debating and discussing, which can range from seriously critical to mockingly comical. Moreover, Soulja Boy definitely seems to relate more to the latter of these options, as he reacted to her new mugshot with a series of crying-laughing emojis on Twitter. While it’s a very simple response and one that doesn’t really add anything relevant to the conversation, it is sadly emblematic of how some people are looking at this whole thing. They just chuckle, think about all of the Baltimore native’s past antics, and move on without missing a beat.
For those unaware, Chrisean Rock is reportedly facing up to eight years in prison on drug charges, but there are little details as to whether the court already convicted her. Also, there are other alleged assault incidents to take into account which some reports indicate could connect to her arrest in a courtroom. Chrisean was there to support her volatile boo Blueface’s own complicated prison stint, and she found herself in a legal pickle herself. Hopefully the near future holds some more clarifications as to what will happen with them and their family, as many are concerned for their child.

As for Chrisean Rock’s on-and-off again boo, Blueface received a four-year prison sentence for probation violations. “I want to get on here and thank everybody for all the love and all the support today,” his mother Karlissa Saffold shared on Instagram after the verdict. “All the prayers, I’ve seen all the prayers and I thank y’all so much. I don’t want y’all to think that god didn’t show up today because he did, and if you was in the courtroom, you heard Johnathan take accountability, you heard Johnathan sound like Johnathan.
“He’s in his right frame of mind,” Saffold went on. “We didn’t get the verdict we wanted today. But we got some closure. We got new beginnings, and we’re all hopeful for this to go by smooth and quickly.” With all these situations in mind, and considering Soulja Boy’s previous beef with Blueface and Chrisean Rock, this type of reaction to their arrests is unfortunately common.

Karlissa Saffold Wonders Whether She’s As Bad With Blueface As Momma Dee Is With Lil Scrappy
It looks like this week’s episode of the Aunt Tea podcast with Karlissa Saffold, Tia Kemp, and Tokyo Toni will be a spicy one when it drops tomorrow (Sunday, August 11) on the Zeus Network. Moreover, it looks like Momma Dee will be a special guest on the show, and before they brought her out, Blueface’s mother asked a pretty shady question (that they will surely discuss) about Dee’s tendency to speak on her son Lil Scrappy’s personal matters.
“I’m excited about the guest today. I got a lot in common, I feel like, you know what I’m saying? Am I as bad as Momma Dee?” Blueface’s mom Karlissa Saffold asked on the podcast, which her co-hosts disagreed with. “As Momma Dee with my son. No, no, no, am I in my son’s business? Am I as bad? I mean, I see the people in the comments saying, you know, she want one of our seats. So, you know, we might have to watch this. We might have to watch her! You don’t read the comments? You doing all this and you ain’t reading the comments? Girl, you got to be reading your fans. You got to be reading what’s going on, what the people want. You f**k around, and she’ll be sitting in that seat. I’m excited, let’s bring Momma Dee out.”

Karlissa Saffold Slightly Teases Momma Dee Before Bringing Her Onto Aunt Tea Podcast
We actually got a recent example of Blueface’s mother is talking about here, as Momma Dee went to IG Live earlier this week to air out some issues with Scrappy. “No, I’m not saying that I’m guilty as a mother,” she remarked. “I’m saying that I’m guilty that I should have allowed him to fall all the way and stop trying to save him. You know what I mean? No, he did something wrong. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Can’t show that n***a no grace, I see now. Can’t show Scrappy no freaking grace, can’t show him no freaking grace. Okay?
“Because he forget real quick,” Momma Dee went on. “Better stop. Yes, he had. She trying to talk to you over here, yes she is. Yes, she is. No, no, no, this one more stupider than the average young man. This one more stupider. ‘Cause I know some men that, what she did to him, they would never even bear to speak to her. I know she a witch, but he got to know that, so he didn’t get that, he didn’t get the memo.”

Kevin Abstract Is As Sweet As Ever On New Single “I LOVE THESE HOES, THEY DONT JUDGE ME”
It’s been seven years now since Kevin Abstract and the rest of BROCKHAMPTON fully burst onto hip-hop’s upper artistic echelon through their SATURATION series. While the group is no more, its members continue to make amazing music that feels very characteristic of their unique individual qualities, and Kevin is no exception. For an artist as versatile as he is, though, his artistic qualities range from bombastic vibrance to soft but still passionate tenderness. On his latest single “I LOVE THESE HOES, THEY DONT JUDGE ME,” the Texas native swaps out the Soulja Boy influence on the recent “DIRTY BOY SWAG” for a lo-fi, high-pitched, and addictively sweet sound. This is the latest release in Kevin Abstract’s as-of-yet prolific “GLUE era,” comprised of mostly YouTube-exclusive singles including the more peppy “BIG DOG.”
Hopefully these manifest into a project down the road, but if not, the numerous tracks in this series so far have all been quite stellar. On “I LOVE THESE HOES, THEY DONT JUDGE ME,” he also enlists additional vocals from one of his best collaborators as of late: Quadeca. This builds off their chemistry on cuts like “Tennessee” (which Quad produced) and their SCRAPYARD collaboration “TEXAS BLUE.” If you haven’t heard this track yet, don’t miss it, or else you might miss out on your favorite song of the week. You can find the song on YouTube and let us know what you think about it down in the comments section. Finally, check out some notables lines from the record below and, as always, stick around on HNHH for more amazing music drops around the clock.
